1995 F150 WITH 120 000 KMS, MADE IN USA, 4/95, #1) BOTH RADIUS ARM BRACKET/BUSHING ASSEMBLIES REPLACED. PART IS RIVETED TO FRAME. BOTH COMPONENTS FAILED: (A) CAUSING RADIUS ARM TO 'FLOP' IN ITS BORE, STEERING & BRAKING CONTROL PROBLEMS; (B) CAUSES RADIUS ARM AND NUT AND INSULATOR TO PROTRUDE FORCEFULLY THROUGH THE BRACKET, DUE TO METAL FATIGUE. THE BRACKETS ACT AS AN EXTENSION OF THE 1/4" THICK FRAME, BUT ARE CONSTRUCTED OF 14 GA MILD STEEL, CONNECTED TO A 3/4" SOLID, TREATED, PIVOTING ROD BY AN 1 1/4" NUT, AT HIGH TORQUE SETTING. TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS COULD POTENTIALLY BE DISASTROUS UPON FAILURE, AS THE PROPER CAMBER OF THE FRONT WHEELS RELY ON THEIR INTEGRITY. -FORD PARTS WORKER ASSURES, "WE REPLACE THOSE ALL THE TIME." #2 FAILURES OF BOTH REAR LEAF SPRING-SHACKLE FRAME BRACKETS. UNDER-ENGINEERED, .020" THICK BRACKETS, INTEGRAL TO 1/4" FRAME, BY 1/2" RIVETS. BOTH PARTS 'RIPPED', CAUSING SHACKLES AND THE LEAF SPRINGS TO BANG INTO THE TRUCK BOX AND BOUNCE UNCONTROLLABLY UPON HIGHWAY DRIVING. FAILURE OF SECOND BRACKET DUE TO CORROSION OF METAL - MUCH TOO THIN FOR THE JOB. PICTURES CONCLUDE THE NEGLIGENCE IN ITS DESIGN.* BRACKETS, GRADE 8 BOLTS AND NUTS, BUSHING AND SHACKLES MUST BE REPLACED SIMULTANEOUSLY IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE ISSUE: BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL INFERIORITY. Q: HOW DOES ONE ACCESS DOCUMENTS THAT PROVE SUITABILITY OF A VEHICLE'S STRUCTURAL COMPONENT? --DOES THE GOVERNMENT NOT HAVE ANY STANDARDS FOR FORD TO FOLLOW? --DO THE ENGINEERS FOLLOW THE LAWS OF BASIC PHYSICS WHEN THEY DESIGN THIS SORT OF COMPONENT? --CAN FORD REALLY GET AWAY WITH SELLING A PRODUCT THAT IS EXPECTED TO FAIL, ONLY TO MAKE MONEY ON THE RESALE OF A REPLACEMENT? --SAFETY STANDARDS MUST BE PUT INTO PLACE SOMEWHERE: WHO ENFORCES THEM? -- WHO WAS THE ENGINEER? FRAME ON A 1995 FORD 150 PICKUP WITH 75,550 MILES IS BROKEN IN TWO PLACES , APPROXIMATELY IN THE SAME AREAS ON EACH SIDE OF FRAME. THE BREAKS ARE LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT AXLE. DRIVER'S SIDE IS COMPLETELY CRACKED THROUGH THE FRAME RAIL. PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED AT SAME SPOT. *JB
I OWN A 95 FORD F150, THE FRAME OF THE DOOR IN WHICH THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY IS MOUNTED TO IS TORN. THE TEARS ARE IN THE DOOR WHERE THE ASSEMBLY HAS A TAB THAT SLIDES INTO THE DOOR AND WHERE THE ASSEMBLY BOLTS TO THE DOOR. THIS GIVES TOO MUCH AND DOES NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO OPEN THE VEHICLE FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN CREATE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN TRYING TO EVACUATE THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF FIRE OR EMINENT DANGER. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER WHO WERE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD FOR $80 AND TWO WEEKS OF WAIT THEY COULD WELD THE TORN AREAS. I THEN CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND THIS WAS NOT AN ITEM THAT WAS RECALLED. A SOLUTION TO THIS WOULD BE TO HAVE AN ACTUAL CROSS BRACE TO BOLT THE ASSEMBLY TO AND NOT THE THIN SHEET METAL BODY OF THE DOOR, THICKER METAL ON THE SKIN OF THE DOOR, OR A WAY TO DISTRIBUTE THE STRESS MORE EVENLY.*AK
FRAME RIVETS UNDER ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOSE/RATTLING
NOISE COMING FROM WERE RIVET IN CROSSMEMBER CAUSING WELDING TO WEAR AND ALLOWING MEMBER TO SLIDE.
FRONT END FRAME RIVETS REPAIRED AT FORD SERVICE CENTER MORE THAN ONCE AND CONTINUES.
FRAME CRACKED. *SD
CROSS MEMBER UNDER TRANSMISSION FAILED.
MISSING FRAME RIVET CAUSED VEHICLE TO SHAKE RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL. *TT.

UNDERNEITH FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHERE ITS RIBITED AT CROSS MEMBER IS SQUEAKING, THE RIBITES SEEM TO BE NOT HOLDING VERY TIGHT, I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE I'VE OWN THE TRUCK AND FINALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM, WOULD'NT THIS BE A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM? THANKS*AK
THE BOLTS WHICH HOLD THE SUB-FRAME IN PLACE ARE LOOSE, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO SQUEAK. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
