THE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY AND SHE HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE FROM SURGING FORWARD. THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE EGR COOLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 39,000.
1. DRIVING 2. CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT DISENGAGE WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. IN FACT, WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED, THE TRUCK TRIES TO COMPENSATE FOR REDUCED SPEED BY DOWNSHIFTING AND ACCELERATING. I HAVE HAD IT HAPPEN TWICE WHERE IT NEARLY CAUSED ME TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THE DEALERSHIP VERIFIED THE PROBLEM BUT COULD NOT FIX IT. THEY SENT ME AWAY WITH THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING AND IT IS SO DANGEROUS THAT I DO NOT USE CRUISE CONTROL AT ALL. 3. DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM BUT COULDN'T FIX IT. THEY VERIFIED THE PROBLEM AND DOCUMENTED IT IN MY FILE WITH THEM. *TR
WHEN ACCELERATING IN FULL THROTTLE FROM A DEAD STOP VEHICLE DELAYS FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE TAKING OFF. CONSUMER IS CONCERNED ABOUT VEHICLE'S ACTION IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. *AK
