Front passenger door stopped closing on the 10th of July without any warning so I am forced into driving with a partially closed door tied with rope and I see that multiple people have filed a complaint about the same problem.
Passenger door will not close.
The latch on the driver door is stuck and I am unable to close my door. My car is a 2015 and I bought it used. I have not received a recall on this. I saw that there was a recall for this reason but it does not cover my year. What do I do?

I RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL 20S15 / 20V-177 APPROXIMATELY 7 WEEKS AGO, AND MY DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE AND UNWILLING TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AFTER 6 ATTEMPTS AT CONTACT AND SCHEDULING. THE DEALERSHIP IN QUESTION IS BIG MIKE NAUGHTIN FORD 150 S HAVANA ST AURORA, CO 80012
I WAS DRIVING AND MY DOOR FLEW OPEN AND WILL NOT LATCH. I AM NOW UNABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR.
I CALLED MY DEALER TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 20S15 NHTSA RECALL 20V-177 DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT. I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY ARE NOT REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH UNLESS I AM HAVING ISSUES. ISN'T THIS A RISK AND WOULDN'T THEM REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH NOW RESOLVE ANY PROBLEMS, IF THERE ARE ANY, IN THE FUTURE? THE DEALER IS FORD OF UPLAND | 555 W. FOOTHILL BLVD., UPLAND, CA 91786. *TR
I OPENED THE REAR DRIVER DOOR, PLACED GROCERIES IN THE BACK SEAT, AND ATTEMPTED TO SHUT THE DOOR. THE DOOR WOULDN'T LATCH SHUT AT THIS POINT. THE LATCH WAS IN THE OPEN POSITION AND I COULD EMULATE THE STRIKING PLATE WITH A SCREWDRIVER AND IT WOULD CLOSE, BUT THERE WASN'T ANY RESISTANCE WHEN SLIDING THE SCREW DRIVER OUT. I SUSPECT THAT SUPPORTING SPRING BROKE. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THE ISSUE WAS THE DOOR LATCH AND NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR FORD CUSTOMER SUPPORT WOULD CONSIDER MY CAR WAS AFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE AS MANY OTHER RECALLED FORD VEHICLES BECAUSE THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH A RECALLED FACTORY. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT DUE DILIGENCE IS DONE TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS NOT ANOTHER BATCH OF VEHICLES WITH A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DEEMED WORTHY OF A RECALL. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S FRONT DRIVER-SIDE DOOR LOCK FAILED TO LATCH SECURELY. THE CONTACT SECURED THE DOOR WITH STRAPS. THE CONTACT CONTACTED BELL FORD (2401 W BELL RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85023, (602) 457-2144) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V177000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
DRIVING FROM CA TO CO FOR CHRISTMAS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE "DOOR OPEN" LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CHIME SOUNDED AS LOCKED LEFT REAR DOOR OPENED!! UNACCEPTABLE FOR A COMPANY THAT HAS MADE VEHICLES FOR OVER 100 YEARS! I DID A GOOGLE SEARCH ON THE PROBLEM LOOKING FOR A FIX. I FOUND A RECALL FOR YEARS 2013-2014 ONLY. NO RECALL FOR MY 2015, WHEN IT IS OBVIOUS THE COST SAVING MEASURES STILL APPLY. I HAD TO TIE THE DOOR CLOSED WITH THE SEATBELT, BUT IT'S NOT TIGHT ENOUGH TO KEEP THE WARNINGS OFF. NO ONE CAN SIT IN THE BACK SEAT DUE TO SEATBELTS BEING USED! WE ARE AFRAID THE OTHER DOOR LATCHES WILL SOON FAIL AS WELL. WE STILL HAVE TO DRIVE BACK TO CA! *DT *DL
WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 12 Y.O. GRANDDAUGHTER, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILED.BASIL FORD SERVICE DEPT FOUND LATCH LEVEL BENT AND STUCK, ALSO STRIKER WAS LOOSE AND CROOKED. DEALER STATED THAT OTHER FORD FUSION LATCHES HAD BEEN REPLACED UNDER SAFETY RECALL, BUT NOT MY CAR. WE WERE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND TURNING LEFT
DOOR LATCH ON BACK DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IS BROKEN AFTER NO ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. SIMPLY OPENED DOOR AND WHEN I WENT TO SHUT IT IT WOULD NO LONGER LATCH. IT DOES NOT STAY SHUT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2015 FORD FUSION WHEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR CAME OPEN AND WOULD NOT CLOSE. I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON OTHER FORD FUSIONS WHICH WERE RECALLED. WE CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD OUR VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.?? IT IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALLED VEHICLES. VERY UNSAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DASH BOARD IS WARPING CAUSING DEFROSTER VENTS TO NOT PROPERLY CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. DASH BOARD IS RUBBING ON THE WINDSHIELD CREATING A DISTRACTING SQUEAKING NOISE WHEN DRIVING. DASH BOARD IS ALSO SUNKEN UP AND DOWN ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD LINE.
I NOTICED MY FLOOR WAS WET IN THE BACK SEAT AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST FROM GETTING MY KIDS IN AND OUT IN THE RAIN BUT AFTER I CLEANED IT UP I NOTICED A DAY LATER IT WAS WET AGAIN AND I DIDNT HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND IT WAS RAINING. THE NEXT DAY I OPENED MY TRUNK LID AND FELT THE CARPETING AND IT WAS SOAKED SO I PULLED THE LINER OUT AND I SEEN STANDING WATER IN MY WHEEL WELL I VACUUMED THE WATER AND TO FIND MY LEAK I PULLED DOWN MY BACK SEATS AND CLOSED THE TRUNK LID AND I GOT PHONE TO RECORD IT I HAD MY WIFE SPRAY THE REAR END OF MY CAR WITH THE WATER HOSE AND I CAN SEE WATER POURING IN AND THAT'S WHEN I FOUND THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM BROKEN FACTORY WELDS IN THE TOP PART OF MY TRUNK . I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE I WAS CALLED A LIAR CAUSE THE MAN THERE DID NOT BELIEVE WHAT I SAID CAUSE HE DIDN'T SEE IT ON HIS COMPUTER AND I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE.
LEFT REAR DOOR OF A 2015 FUSION,( 21,000 MILES) SWUNG OPEN WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN FROM ONE CITY STREET TO ANOTHER CITY STREET. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS SITTING IN REAR SEAT BY THAT DOOR. THE DOOR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER AND DOOR LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT IS TO BE DETERMINED IF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL COVER THE COST OF REPAIRS. FROM ONLINE SEARCH IT APPEARS THIS IS A SERIOUS RECURRING PROBLEM WITH FORD VEHICLES
REFER TO RECALL 18S20. THE AUTO RAN INTO THE GARAGE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM MUCH DAMAGE TO CAR AND GARAGE.THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS APPROACHING IN THE DRIVEWAY.PLEASE ADVISEMY NEXT STEP.
FRONT LEFT (DRIVER) DOOR OPENED WHILE IN MOTION, DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. THIS PREVIOUSLY HAS OCCURRED WITH THE REAR LEFT DOOR AND WAS REPAIRED BY DEALERSHIP AT MY COST.
