The left rear caliper has been replaced 3 times in the last 6 months and is currently in the shop for a 4th. This locks up for no reason and ruins the brake pad and the rotor and I have now replaced all of that 3 times as well and the brake hose line.
This failure narrowly resulted in a serious accident when my vehicle applied the brakes without warning and dropped the speed to below 40 mph on the Highway! I was extremely fortunate not to have been closely followed by a large semi at the time. I researched on my own and found this was a known defect: Ford Recall reference #22S02 (21C24) March 2022. includes vehicles built in Hemosillo plant from Oct 2013 thru 6 April 2015. my fusion was built there on 2 April 2015 but was not included in the March 2022 recall so I was never notified. Apparently this was a known defect and on going problem since Ford issued SSM 50328 to cover various vehicles built from 2013 to 2021 (Includes 2013-2017 Fusion/MKZ). I was able to drive the vehicle safely on back roads to a local Ford dealer where the problem was addressed. I submitted a request for refund to Ford and advise them of this continuing safety issue that should have been addressed with a properly expanded recall. Ford denied my request and tried to avoid the ongoing safety issue claiming it was an "out of warranty" matter.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the dad was driving with the cruise control set at 65 MHP. While approaching a slower vehicle ahead the driver pressed both the brake pedal and the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel but the cruise control did not deactivate. As the driver switched to the left lane to avoid a collision the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle and a third vehicle was also crashed into. Which vehicle crashed into the third vehicle was undetermined. During the crash, no injuries were reported from either of the three vehicles involved in the crash. A police report was taken and the scene and the vehicle was towed to a nearby wrecking yard. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 67 MPH, the vehicle started to sputter. The vehicle inadvertently decelerated while the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate over 15 MPH. The contact veered the vehicle off the road and turned the vehicle off. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was taken to O’Reilly’s Auto Parts by the contact’s husband to be diagnosed and the mechanic retrieved DTC code: P0011 and diagnosed that the actuator throttle failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified the failure and the contact was provided a case number and advised to call the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
I got into an accident around May 3rd. Roughly around 11 pm to 12 am. To inform whomever is reading, none of the issues I will list have happened prior to this event. At the accident my car would not turn on, and it would not lock. As well as a piece of the car had broke off. I took my car to Mike's auto body for repairs. When the person inspecting the car had reviewed what was wrong with my 2016 Ford Fusion, I was informed part of the issue was the starter. I was informed by Nick a staff member of Mike's auto body, that the piece was replaced. After I had picked up my car on June 6, 2023 as per the receipt from my payment. The first time the event happened was on around June 6th to June 20th (I know it happened on a rainy Tuesday or Wednesday anywhere from 7am to 8am prior to Thursday June 22nd.) My car flashed "See manual" on my dash board. The air bag light had turned on. My car would not accelerate, the brakes functioned at this point, but when I pulled off the road and parked my car shook. When I had turned my car off, took out the keys, and turned it on again the problem was "resolved" and I was able to continue driving to work. I had called the auto shop and eventually left my car with the auto shop to be safe. The next event happened on Thursday June 22nd at 4:10 pm after I had picked it up from the auto shop when Nick had informed me my car was safe and nothing was reading on the scanner. (I took a picture of the dash board to show the message) and turned my car back into the auto shop. To note, the brakes did not work during this time. The next time it happened was the first time I drove my car again after picking it up from Mike's auto shop. July 1st at 12:47 pm. The same stuff happened. I recorded on video what my car was doing. My car decelerate when my foot was still on the gas, the brakes were not working, hot air out of the ac, car shaking. It happened 10+ times today (7/15/23) after leaving the dealership to fix a recall I have several videos of it
I was driving my car on the interstate at 75 mph and had the cruise control on when the wrench light came on and the car started slowing down and losing power. I pulled over and shut the car off for a few min, started driving, and it did it again. A couple of mechanics I've talked to said it could be the throttle body positron sensor or the throttle body itself. I've had the fuel pump and fuel pump modulator and relays checked. I've also had the spark plugs checked and changed and the issue was still there. The car has a mileage of 71,000. The car is still not fixed at this time.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated the brake lights were continuously illuminated. The contact taped the brake button in to stop the warning light from appearing. The contact also stated that the failure caused the battery to drain. There was also a failure while accelerating with the RPM being inoperable while depressing the accelerator pedal down to the floorboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 53,000.

THE SHIFT BUSING CABLE BROKE WHILE I WAS IN REVERSE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. WHEN I WENT TO PUT IT IN DRIVE NOTHING WOULD WORK. THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN GO INTO NEUTRAL. THERE ARE LOTS OF RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE FOR THIS SPECIFIC CAR , BUT MY VIN DOES NOT COME UP AS ONE OF THEM. I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER OF TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. CHRISTMAS IS AROUND THE CORNER. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS. THIS IS A FORD ISSUE THAT FORD NEEDS TO PAY FOR.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, 12 MPH. HUSBAND MADE A LEFT TURN FROM ALMOST A STOPPING POSITION. HE PROCEEDED ABOUT ONE FOOT AND THE ENGINE STOPPED AFTER IT SPUTTERED EXTREMELY AND MADE A LOUD NOISE. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE WHEN HE HIT THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH A WRENCH AND MESSAGE TO CHECK THE MANUAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO JERRY'S FORD ALEXANDRIA AND THEY SAID THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED. COST WAS $610. THEY DISCOUNTED THE PRICE TO $510 AND THREW IN A FREE OIL CHANGE AND DETAILING WHICH WAS AWESOME. I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER 2016 FORD FUSIONS AND WONDERED WHY FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE OR AT LEAST INFORM OWNERS TO BEWARE. . CAR HAS ABOUT 46,800 MILES ON IT AS I BOUGHT IT JUNE 2015.
TAKATA RECALL. CAR LOSES ACCELERATION WHEN GOING UPHILL. SPEED DROPS DOWN TO 20 MPH. PUT NEW FUEL PUMP IN AND THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE FIGURED OUT. WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS ESPECIALLY AFTER GETTING GAS.
VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE CRUISING AROUND 70 MPH ON FREEWAY. DASHBOARD DISPLAYED A WRENCH ICON AND INSTRUCTIONS TO "REFER TO MANUAL". ALL DISPLAYS, CLIMATE CONTROL, AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM STILL FUNCTIONAL. VEHICLE HAD MINIMAL ENGINE POWER, NOT ENOUGH TO ACCELERATE OR MAINTAIN FREEWAY SPEED BUT ENOUGH TO EXIT FREEWAY AND PULL OVER INTO A PARKING LOT. TURNING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING AFTER FIVE MINUTES RESTORED ALL NORMAL FUNCTION, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. CAR FUNCTIONED NORMALLY (ASIDE FROM CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) THE NEXT DAY AND WAS DRIVEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSIS. DIAGNOSIS WAS A BROKEN ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, DESCRIBED AS A "KNOWN ISSUE", WHICH WAS REPLACED.
I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE NEAR POWER AND PHONE LINES WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD. I WAS ABLE TO STEP HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE CAR STOPPED AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT 2 FEET. THE FORD DEALER CHECKED CODES, ETC. AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I HAD PREVIOUSLY RECEIVED A RECALL FROM FORD AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY HAD BEEN REPLACED ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THIS INCIDENT. I FEEL THAT ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE HAS CAUSED THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE THERE IS NO SHIELDING FOR THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE ABOUT 8400 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE.
MY CAR BARELY PICKS UP SPEEDS I HAVE TO PUT MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR IT TO CATCH SPEED. MY RADIO ONLY WORKS ON ONE STATION OTHER STATION GIVES OUT LOTS OF STACKED

PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THE CAR HAS CRUISED THROUGH SEVERAL STOP SIGNS OR LIGHTS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM.
