Brake pedal pad failed, causing car to suddenly brake even though brakes were not being applied. Ford Dealership recommended replacing brake light switch assembly. Brake lights stayed on even after the car was turned off. Had to disconnect the battery to prevent drain.
The issue is the Brake Light switch stop pad on the brake pedal which is a rubber type of plug. At 70,000 miles the brake light switch stop pad cracked and fell into floor board (see pictures). When that happened, the RPMs dropped to idle speed and the car slowed down. After a few seconds, the car would pick up speed again only to repeat the event over and over again. I understand that when the brake light switch stop pad is missing and the plunger on the switch is fully out, the car thinks that you are applying the brakes. I was lucky, I was on a two lane road with no traffic, but I was headed to an inter-state with heavy traffic. Ford (nor does anyone else) does not sell just the rubber plug which fits on the brake pedal, but it will sell the complete brake pedal assembly. Not sure the reason that the brake pedal would require the hole that requires the rubber plug, but think that Ford should be responsible for the replacement or a better solution for the repair (Provide a replacement plug, not just the complete Brake pedal assembly. Thank you for you time in this matter. Fuel line. There is a sensor that comes on when you put fuel in the vehicle. I think it has to do with the vapor line from past Ford recalls on mustangs.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the rear plastic window of the convertible roof had begun to deteriorate around the imbedded defroster wire. The plastic had begun to turn white around the wire and visibility was becoming impaired. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rear plastic window needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The mustang has a problem with its HVAC system. The A/C needs to be serviced constantly making the reliability of these cars come into question. These are conveniences every driver needs in their car. I'm going to return my 2015 in 1 year for a car with a reliable AC unit. A Toyota or honda
I'm on highway going 70mph and all the sudden my car slows down drastically to about 35mph and won't accelerate any higher. I almost caused an accident. After I got home I also noticed my brake lights would not go off, even after the car was off for a bit. I had to undo the battery.
Cheap plastic disk between the brake pedal assembly and the plumber rod that should only control lights dried up and broke off. This issue has been reported many times and you have not handled it properly. Not only do the brake lights come on but the uphill traction control goes crazy and the vehicle begins to lose power without notice. This could result in an accident and death as the car could be on a highway and suddenly lose power. Ford doesn't offer a replacement part for this. Other car manufactures have a similar plastic part. Fords solution is to spend nearly $1000 for a > $10 item. This needs to be taken more seriously than some of your other recall items you report.
Door latches become undone as I drive causing the doors to open. This happens often and happened when I first bought the vehicle in 2017
While driving and pressing on accelerator pedal car slows down without pressing the gas as if the car is about to turn off. This is a very dangerous hazard as I am in the middle of a highway which can cause an accident if it does turn ofd. I noticed that the brake lights are on 24 hours a day whether the vehicle is off or on , this could be the issue, something is either jammed in the engine system or the brakes sensors are messed up and are not telling the rest of the car that the car is on and moving. There is no messages that are telling me inside the mustang that something is wrong with my car . I have had my car 6 years and this is the first time I see this happening.
Recently, the camera on my 2015 Mustang has not been connecting regularly. The display will occasionally say the camera is not available, contact dealership. In researching it appears that the wiring to the camera and other associated trunk area lighting can be cut or worn through, creating a defective and potentially dangerous situation. The videos and comment sites are abundant with this issue. During my research, I noticed that there is a huge, nearly identical recall in place for 2020 vehicles. I suspect this is the same issue. The issue is not just happening in Mustangs. Other vehicles where the wiring is sheathed in a certain way or subject to movement can show the same issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving approximately 60-65 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. The Vin was not available.
The trunk opens while driving. It opens without warning and not every time. Also the trunk may or may not open when using the key fob, button inside or outside.
Plastic clip for brake light switch disintegrates over time, causing reduced power and inoperative brake lights.
Hi, I recently noticed my driver side door or not aligned with the body. And when I went to your website after noticing I found out that there was a recall issued on this situation. I think it’s the door hinges. Please let me know as what should be my next step as this doesn’t sound safe. Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The information was not on the vehicle other than the vin. I called Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg, VA and was told the inspection to find the information was not free as it said in the recall notice. I must pay a tech service fee for them to inspect the car doors for the recall information. I said fine I would like to make an appointment for the inspection. The appointment given was for October 26, 2021 as this was the soonest they could get me in. I did not make the appointment as they clearly did not want my business.
The brake light switch function was inhibited due to the plastic retainer mounted on the pedal assembly. The plastic retainer had become brittle and caused it to come apart in pieces. The retainer acts a point of contact for the brake light switch plunger which signals to the ECM when the driver is applying or not applying the brakes. Symptoms of failure are constant illumination of rear brake lights with vehicle on or off. Disables cruise control. Also most importantly it limits throttle control by reducing throttle range spraticly. No driver warnings or lights are displayed or illuminated on the IPC. Problem has been verified and reproduced by independent service center.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) and 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the passenger’s side door ajar warning light was illuminated while the door was securely closed. Additionally, the back over protection camera occasionally went black; however, the camera regained proper function after a message appeared on the instrument cluster. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Air conditioning & cooled seats no longer work. Only hot air blows. The car just barely has 28K miles. This has happened to multiple mustangs w low mileage.
A NON-CONDUCTIVE PAD IS INSTALLED BETWEEN THE BRAKE SENSOR SWITCH AND BRAKE ARM. THE PAD BECOMES BRITTLE OVER TIME AND BREAKS ALLOWING THE BRAKE SENSOR TO ENGAGE. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO GO INTO 'LIMP' MODE WHICH CAN OCCUR WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE IT OCCURS RANDOMLY AND CAN HAPPEN AT HIGH SPEEDS.
BREAK SWITCH PAD IS REALLY EASY TO BREAK. BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON AFTER CAR IS STOPPED AND IN PARK AND CUT OFF. WHILE DRIVING VERY DANGEROUS GET NO POWER TO SPEED UP AND WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS NOTHING.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that after it rained, there was water on the rear passenger’s side floor of the vehicle. The vehicle was equipped with a convertible top. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact cleaned and drained the water from the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted and a case was opened. The contact stated that a year later the vehicle was at the dealer for recall repairs and she noticed that there was water inside the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer then transferred the call to the NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) A MONTH PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
Bolt at the back of the engine rattled loose and scarred the torque converter, flexplate, bell housing of the transmission, and the block of the engine.
MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL FLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING WITH NO WARNING
MY BATTERY DIED AND REQUIRED A JUMP THE NEXT MORNING. WHEN I BEGAN DRIVING, THE CAR WAS THROTTLING DOWN AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AS IF THE ENGINE WAS LOSING POWER. I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING SO I RETURNED HOME AND NOTICE THAT MY REAR LIGHTS INCLUDING THE BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO SAVE MY BATTERY FROM DRAINING AGAIN. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATING I FOUND THE BRAKE SWITCH PAD WAS BROKEN AND THIS IS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO BE ON ALL THE TIME AND CAUSING THE LACK OF ENGINE POWER. THIS ISSUE WAS NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE THE THROTTLE IS OVER-RIDDEN BY THE BRAKES. THE CAR WAS THINKING THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS BEING PUSHED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE GAS PEDAL. THE BRAKE SWITCH PAD BREAKING AND CAUSING THIS PROBLEM IS VERY DANGEROUS. I'M SO LUCKY IT HAPPENED ON A LOCAL ROAD AND NOT THE HIGHWAY. I'VE READ MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL AND GET THIS FIXED TO AVOID MAJOR ACCIDENTS.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated while reversing approximately 2 MPH, the camera image was frozen on the display. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent; however, soon became a constant failure. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER FAILED. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME, YOU ARE UNABLE TO ACCELERATE SAFELY. THIS IS A DRIVEABILITY AND SAFETY ISSUE AND POOR DESIGN. THIS OCCURED WHILE DRIVING ON STREET, WHEN I STOPPED IS WHEN I NOTICED THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON AFTER 15 MINUTES BEING STOPPED. I RESTARTED CAR AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT UNABLE TO EFFECTIVELY. I HAD A VEHICLE FOLLOW ME AROUND BLOCK AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON ALL THE TIME. HAD VEHICLE TRAILERED TO THE FORD DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE HAS ONLY 1857 MILES ON IT.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2015 TWIN ECO-BOOST CAR ON A CITY STREET,WHEN I I HEARD SOMETHING UNDER HOOD.AND RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT SMOKE WAS ROLLING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD.WHEN I STOPPED AND GOT OUT,THATS WHEN A WITNESS TOLD ME SHE SAW FLAMES COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE CAR IT MELTED EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD.EVERY WIRE WAS EXSPOSED.I AM WAITING FOR REPORT FROM FIRE DEPARTMENT.I DO HAVE A PICTURE OF IT.FIRE CHIEF SAID BATTERY EXPLODED.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the door latches functioned as needed and did not need to be replaced. The recall designation was then removed from the vehicle and the vehicle was returned to the contact. A few months later, the contact stated that the passenger’s door started to rattle and independently opened while driving without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was no longer under recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the recall and the contact was referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
THE A/C IS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR. IT SEEMS TO AN ISSUE WITH MUSTANGS 2015 AND UP. IT BLOWS AIR BUT IT IS NOT COLD. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED.
THE CLUTCH PEDAL OF MY MUSTANG FAILED AT JUST OVER 90,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE PEDAL WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE OPERATED SAFELY AND REQUIRED TWISTING MY LEG IN ORDER TO PUSH THE PEDAL DOWN. AFTER LIMPING THE VEHICLE HOME, I INSPECTED THE PEDAL AND FOUND THAT WELD THAT JOINED ONE SIDE OF THE PEDAL ARM TO THE PIVOT BAR HAD BROKEN OFF COMPLETELY, AND THE OTHER SIDE HAD CRACKED. THIS ALLOWED SIGNIFICANT LATERAL MOVEMENT OF THE PEDAL, WHICH CAUSED IT TO HANG UP IN THE ASSEMBLY WHEN PUSHING IT IN. THERE WAS NO ABUSE LOADING OF THE PEDAL THROUGH THE LIFE OF THE CAR. AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER, I CAN SAY WITH CONFIDENCE THAT THE WELD THAT BROKE OFF WAS BAD/COLD, AND THAT ONCE IT BROKE, SHIFTED ALL THE PEDAL LOADS TO THE OTHER SIDE, RESULTING IN ITS FAILURE. THIS DESIGN IS NOT ROBUST TO TYPICAL MANUFACTURING QUALITY VARIATIONS DUE TO THE WELDS BEING ONLY 90 DEG AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE. MY FAILURE IS ONLY ONE OF DOZENS THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN MODEL SPECIFIC FORUMS AND ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I HAVE ENCOURAGED OTHERS WITH THIS ISSUE TO REPORT THEIRS.
HEATED/COOLED SEAT MODULE SHORTED, BURNED, AND MELTED THE WIRING HARNESS. SEAT FUNCTION IS NO LONGER OPERATIVE.
THE EVAPORATOR CORE HAS BEEN NOTATED IN A SERVICE BULLETIN AS BEING FAULTY. THIS MERELY CAUSES THE A/C TO NOT WORK EFFICIENTLY AT FACE VALUE. THE REAL ISSUE IS THE INABILITY TO PROPERLY DEFOG/DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD IN INCLEMENT WEATHER, RENDERING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY THAT IS NOT CONTROLLABLE BY THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE.
THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY, GOT IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AND NOW AGAIN WENT BAD BUT NO MORE WARRANTY. THE AC COMPRESSOR WENT OUT AND EVAPORATOR CORE IS BAD(VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH 15-17 MODELS), IT CAUSES WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP BAD AND CAN BARELY SEE AT TIMES WHEN DRIVING, VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX TOO.
2015 FORD MUSTANG GT WITH ABOUT 43,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING CAR ON RESIDENTIAL STREET AT ABOUT 30 MPH, LOUD NOISE CAME FROM ENGINE, PULLED OVER AND TURNED CAR OFF. CAR NO LONGER CRANKED. TOWED CAR TO MECHANIC AND HE STATED THAT LIKELY ENGINE SEIZED AND A FACTORY DEFECT. ENGINE WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND SHOWED NO SYMPTONS OF ENGINE PROBLEM PRIOR TO FAILURE. ATTEMPED TO CALL FORD MULTIPLE TIMES AT THE PHONE NUMBER (1-866-436-7332) ON NHTSA SITE AND PLACED ON HOLD FOR MULTIPLE HOURS WITHOUT ANY ANSWER.
MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR KEEPS OPENING WHILE I AM DRIVING , IT'S REALLY UNSAFE AND REALLY WANT TO GET THIS FIXED. EVEN IF I'M NOT ON THE HIGHWAY EVEN SMALL ROADS WHERE I HAVE TO GO SLOWER IT OPENS. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE 11/10/2020 WAS THE MOST RECENT.
2015 FORD MUSTANG ECOBOOST CONVERTIBLE - WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OVER 65MPH THE PASSENGER DOOR UNLATCHES AND A WARNING SIGNAL APPEARS ON THE DASH STATING THE PASSENGER DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE TO EITHER PULL OVER AND CLOSE THE DOOR MYSELF OR MY FIANC PUTS THE WINDOW DOWN AND PUSHES THE DOOR CLOSED AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST 2 MONTHS. FORD SANTA MONICA STATES THERE WAS NOTHING FOUND UNDER THE SAFETY RECALL 20S30/20V-331.
SUDDENLY STARTED EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ONLY REMEDIED BY SLAMMING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR WHICH THEN CAUSED THE CAR TO SURGE FORWARD. AFTER GETTING THE CAR HOME ALSO NOTICED THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ON AT ALL TIMES. THE TWIN PROBLEMS ENDED UP BEING CONNECTED. TURNS OUT THERE IS A SMALL PLASTIC/CERAMIC PIECE IN THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY THAT FAILS AND BREAKS APART WITHOUT WARNING - ALSO NO DASHBOARD WARNINGS AFTER IT FAILS. CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO THINK THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED AND CUTS THE POWER IN RESPONSE. THIS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEED AND WAS AN IMMEDIATE SAFETY ISSUE. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THIS SMALL PART IS VERY SUSCEPTIBLE TO FLORIDA HEAT - UNFORTUNATELY THE WHOLE BRAKE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED.
WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND NOTICED THE DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. WE HAD TO STOP AND KEEP OPENING UP THE DOOR TO SLAM IT CLOSE AGAIN TO MAKE SURE THE DOOR LATCH WAS SECURE AND WAS PROPERLY SHUT.
VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. MY HUSBAND RETURNED FROM AN ERRAND AND NOTICED MY VEHICLES BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON WOULD NOT TURN OFF, EVEN WITH THE VEHICLE POWER OFF. I FOUND BROKEN PLASTIC PIECES ON THE DRIVER SIDE FLOORBOARD. WHEN I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, RESULTS SHOW THIS IS A BROKEN BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH PAD. MISSING THIS PIECE MAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAIN ON AND THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL OUT MULTIPLE TIMES SOON AFTER START UP AS THE ENGINE AND SERVICE TIRE MOBILITY KIT WARNING LIGHTS WOULD APPEAR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHITE SMOKE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY EMIT FROM THE REAR EXHAUST PIPE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. SHE ALSO STATED THAT THE SAME WARNING LIGHT WOULD APPEAR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE HE DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED HENRY CURTIS FORD(1120 AUTO CENTER DR, PETALUMA, CA 94952) WHERE THEY INFORMED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY OR ON RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS THEN OFFERED A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WHICH SHE DECLINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND GAVE HER THE SAME INFORMATION AS THE DEALER;THEY OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND THE SPEED DECELERATED. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO CREATE A TEMPORARY FIX TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD MOBILE LOCATED AT 901 EAST INTERSTATE 65 SERVICE RD S, MOBILE, AL 36606, (251) 202-2016, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING RUBBER GROMMET BRAKE PEDAL TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 94,000.
I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY ON THE ROAD, WHEN SUDDENLY MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. MY STEERING ASSIST WAS OFF, SO I FORCEFULLY PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HILL ASSIST, SERVICE ASDVANCETRAC AND STEERING ASSIST CODES WENT OFF. LIGHTS FOR ADVANCETRAC AND HILL ASSIST ARE STILL ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH UNTIL TODAY. IT'S BEEN A WEEK.
DOOR LATCH FAILURE AT 68K MILES,THIS CONDITION CAUSES THE PASSENGER DOOR TO UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING.
THE PLASTIC BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH PAD LOCATED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ARM DETERIORATED AND FELL APART. AFTER THE PAD WAS GONE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OUT. IT MAY ALSO AFFECT THE TRACTION CONTROL WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH STOPS WORKING.THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AFTER ABOUT FIVE YEARS. I NOTICED THIS DEFECT RIGHT AWAY, OTHERWISE THE BATTERY WOULD HAVE GONE DEAD. THE SPECIFIC PART IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORS SO THEY WANT YOU TO REPLACE THE WHOLE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY. THE NEW ONE HAS THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART INSTALLED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT. IT IS ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR.
EVERY TIME AFTER I PUT GAS IN THE CAR, IT STRUGGLES TO START BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON AND NEVER TURNED ON. MY CAR HAS 57600 MILES ON IT AND I DO REGULAR ON TIME OIL CHANGES AND FULL INSPECTIONS AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP .I HAVE RAN MY VIN FOR THE RECALL BUT MY CAR DOES NOT MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS . THIS IS THE RECALL NUMBERS THAT MIGHT BE , BUT IM NOT QUALIFIED>> RECALL NUMBER 14V774000 RECALL NUMBER 15V339000 PLEASE HELP
THERE IS A SMALL PAD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BETWEEN THE PEDAL SHAFT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT ACTIVATION SWITCH. THIS PAD SHATTERED INTO SMALL PARTS CAUSING MY BRAKE LIGHTS TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN I WASN'T BRAKING. THERE WAS NO WARNING PROVIDED BY THE CAR THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS REMAINED ON. THE LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN DRIVING, WHEN PARKED WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING OR NOT RUNNING. I BELIEVE IT BROKE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE BUT I CAN'T BE SURE. THERE ARE MULTIPLE PADS WITHIN THE PEDAL CLUSTER ON THE CLUTCH AND OTHER PEDALS THAT ARE THE SAME PART AND MAY BE PRONE TO FAILURE. THE ATTACHED PHOTO INCLUDES THE BROKEN PART AND A PICTURE INDICATING THE EMPTY SPOT WHERE THE PART IS MISSING.
BACKUP CAMERA AND TRUNK BRAKE LIGHT DO NOT WORK DUE TO KNOWN FLAW IN TRUNK WIRING HARNESS DESIGN. WIRES INSIDE THE HARNESS BREAK FROM OPENING AND CLOSING TRUNK DUE TO COMPRESSION. DEALERSHIP HAS REPAIRED ONCE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BY CHEAPLY REPLACING SECTIONS OF BROKEN WIRE AND CRUDELY WRAPPING THE ENTIRE HARNESS WITH BLACK ELECTRICAL TAPE, HOWEVER MORE WIRES HAVE BROKEN IN NEW LOCATIONS ALONG THE HARNESS. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH A TECHNICAL BULLETIN PUBLISHED BY FORD. HOWEVER THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE COMMON WITH 15-17 MUSTANGS. DESPITE CLEARLY EXPLAINING WHAT WAS WRONG, THEY CLAIMED I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $125 DIAGNOSTIC FEE BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW IF THE WIRING MIGHT HAVE BEEN CHEWED BY 'VARMINTS.'
BACK UP CAMERA BEGAN WORKING SPORADICALLY, THEN QUIT COMPLETELY. DEALER WANTS $440 TO REPLACE CAMERA. VEHICLE HAD ONLY 28,145 MILES.
BACK UP CAMERA HAS SAME SYMPTOMS AS 2020 FORD MODELS BEING RECALLED.8/4/20
