2016 FORD MUSTANG V6 CONVERTIBLE WITH 75,000 MILES. I WENT INTO THE GAS STATION FOR 3 MINUTES, CAME OUT AND CAR WOULD CRANK BUT NOT TURN OVER. CAR NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO AUTO MECHANIC. TURNS OUT THE FUEL PUMP WAS GARBAGE. THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. RIDICULOUS. ALSO, AROUND 40,000 MILES, IT STARTED TO SOUND LIKE I WAS DRIVING A COVERED WAGON, AS EVERY BUMP IN THE ROAD MADE THE CAR SOUND AS IF IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART. THE MECHANIC TELLS ME 3 OF THE 4 CONTROL ARMS (SUSPENSION) ARE COMPLETELY SHOT. AGAIN, RIDICULOUS. JUNK CAR. I'VE HAD DOZENS OF CARS AND MANY WITH WELL OVER 120,000 MILES AND NEVER ONCE HAVE I DEALT WITH A FUEL PUMP NOR CONTROL ARMS. AGAIN, THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD. ALL PARTS FOR THESE 2 FIXES HAVE BEEN ON BACK ORDER FOR A MONTH. I MUST NOT BE THE ONLY ONE DEALING WITH THESE 2 ISSUES. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!
From what I can remember its always been an issue with cylinder 3. I was always repaired by Ford Auto Nation of Fort Worth and Auto World Repair 2021 Engine Failure: Confirmed and repaired blown head gasket 2022 Check Engine Light code P303 - Found faulty as well as ignition coil on cylinder 3 2025 Engine Failure: code P303 - Found faulty as well as ignition coil on cylinder 3 Excessive smoke during idle Cracked engine block due to coolant leak through cylinder wall
WATER PUMP LEAKED COOLANT REQUIRING REPLACEMENT.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE DOORS WILL POP OPEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES RANDOMLY. SEEMS THE DRIVERS DOOR POPS OPEN THEN A SHORT TIME LATER THE PASSENGER DOOR POPS OPEN. THE TIMES IT HAS HAPPENED HAVE BEEN A COUPLE HOURS INTO A TRIP AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON RELATIVELY FLAT SURFACES.
AT APPROXIMATELY 61,000 MILES, THE ORIGINAL ENGINE STOPPED WORKING. CYLINDER #3 GAVE OUT. POSSIBLY A LSPI CONDITION. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED UNDER CPO WARRANTY. MY NEW ENGINE HAS NOW GIVEN OUT AT 36,000 MILES. ON THE 1ST ENGINE, I CAME FROM FORD DEALER AFTER COMPLAINING OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COMING ON. OIL WAS CHANGED, CODES CLEARED. I DROVE APPROXIMATELY 4 CITY BLOCKS, ACCELERATED FROM A STOP LIGHT, AND THE ENGINE STARTED BLOWING WHITE SMOKE AND I PULLED IT OFF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE TO BE FULLY REPLACED, AT 61,000 MILES, A LONG BLOCK, NOT A SHORT BLOCK. ON MY SECOND ENGINE, WHICH HAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000 MILES ON IT, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND AN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE. AFTER PARKING IT, THE NEXT TIME I STARTED IT UP IT WAS BLOWING WHITE SMOKE AGAIN. I DIAGNOSES AT THE DEALER IS UNDERWAY.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR UNLATCHES AND THE ALARM THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN COMES ON WHILE DRIVING 70 MILES PER HOUR ON THE FREEWAY.THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES IN A 3 DAY SPAN WHILE TRAVELING ON A ROAD TRIP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AND FIX THE ISSUE.
HEATED COOLED SEATS ARE NOT WORKING. CHECKED THE CONNECTOR PAN UNDERNEATH THE SEAT AND THERE'S A BURNT AREA ON BOTH THE PIN AND ON THE MODULE
I HAVE A 2016 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE ECO-BOOST WHICH IS JUST RECENTLY STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY PASSENGER DOOR OPENING WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST INSTANCE HAPPENED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND THE LAST ONE HAPPENED LAST WEEK ON JULY 22, 2020. THE SENSOR SYSTEM IN MY CAR DID ALERT US THAT THE DOOR WAS OPEN. I HAVE READ ON THE NEWS THAT THE MUSTANGS ARE BEING RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT WHEN I CHECKED MY VIN I SEE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN GET THEIRS REPAIRED UNDER A RECALL SINCE IT IS HAPPENING TO MY VEHICLE. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE WE WERE COMING TO AN INTERSECTION AND WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR THE STOP LIGHT. THE SECOND INSTANCE WE WERE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 65 MPH. WE HAD TO GO INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO SHUT THE DOOR. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE WE HAD THE TOP DOWN AND IN THE SECOND INSTANCE WE HAD THE TOP UP AND THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP.
THE STEERING IN MY 2016 FORD MUSTANG ECO BOOST WOULD BIND AT THE 11 O'CLOCK POSITION AND WOULD TAKE MUCH FORCE TO RETURN TO THE 12 O'CLOCK POSITION.THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND WHILE SITTING STILL. I RETURNED THE CAR TO FORD FOR SERVICE, WHO TOLD ME I HAVE A DEFECTIVE "STEERING GEAR" AND REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR FOR $3,000.00.
THE EVAPORATOR CORE ON MY CAR HAS A LEAK AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, OUT OF WARRANTY AND WITH ONLY 4000 MILES ON IT, FOR $1800. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT; FORUMS AROUND THE INTERNET ARE FILLED WITH HUNDREDS OF PAGES OF CONSUMERS WITH IDENTICAL STORIES. FORD HAS ISSUED A TSB ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM (TSB #: TSB18-2166, NHTSA ID #: 10143077), BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL OR BUYBACK PROGRAM, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THOUSANDS OF CARS ARE LEAKING R134, A TOXIC CHEMICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY HAZARD, INTO THE AIR. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE IF CONSUMERS DON'T HAVE THE SPARE NEARLY $2000 TO SPEND ON REPLACING THE CORE, MEANING THE OLD ONE WILL CONTINUE TO LEAK INDEFINITELY.
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS OPENED TWICE NOW WHILE DRIVING AFTER BEING CLOSED SECURELY. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE 2015 MUSTANG HAS A RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCH. I AM WONDERING IF THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE.
AC HAS STOPPED WORKING... AGAIN! CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY. NOW OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF AGE. CAR HAS 23K MILES 2 TIMES FULL REFRIGERANT CHARGE HAS VENTED TO ATMOSPHERE, A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW! THOUSANDS, IF NOT TENS OF THOUSAND MUSTANGS ARE AFFECTED
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL OPEN AND I GET A MESSAGE SAYING "PASSENGER DOOR AJAR". I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO SHUT THE DOOR. THIS HAPPENS INFREQUENTLY, BUT IT IS STILL DANGEROUS TO HAVE A DOOR THAT YOU THINK IS LOCKED OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while shifted into reverse(R), the rear-view camera was blank and then operated intermittently; however, the image was blurry. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on two occasions. During the first visit, the contact was informed that the harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to a different dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted during the first inclement weather. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.

THE CONTACT STATED WIND COULD BE HEARD ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON 4 TIMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE ALARM NO ACTIVE AND THE DOORS SENSORS OF DOORS LOCKS NOT WORK. THE VEHICLE DO THIS WHEN WAS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. THE BATTERY DISCHARGE IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN USE FOR 3 WEEKS, I REPLACE THE BATTERY TWO TIMES IN 16,000 MILES OF OPERATION, THE CAR ONLY HAS 16,200 MILES OF USE. *TR

THE AC IN MY 2016 FORD MUSTANG HAS STOPPED WORKING AND I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE TO FIND THAT MANY 2016 FORD MUSTANG OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. MY CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY AND ONLY HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT YET IS HAVING THIS MAJOR ISSUE.
I BEGAN TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING FROM INSIDE MY CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I DISCOVERED THE BURNING SMELL WAS COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE SEAT HEATER WAS ON. I UNPLUGGED THE WIRING HARNESS TO FIND THAT A PIN WAS BURNING AND MELTING THE PLASTIC. *TR
Unknown. I am awaiting to get a backup camera recall fixed on this car since 04/18/2023. I scheduled an appointment to get this recalled fixed for 05/30/2023. The Ford Dealership called on 04/27/2023 and cancelled the appointment, stating the parts are not available and that I would be notified by Ford when the parts are available. As of 08/23/2023 I am still waiting to get my recall fixed before an incident does occur.
ENGINE COOLING NOT WORKING. HOSES PROBABLY DEFECTIVE. FIRE RISK.
THE PASSENGER WINDOW KEEPS GOING UP AND DOWN WITHOUT THE SWITCH BEING USED. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND OFF IN MY DRIVEWAY.
United States Code Chapter 301 Title 49 Chapter 9. Duty to Notify Owners and Dealers and Provide a Remedy for a Noncompliance or a Safety-Related Defect Regardless of whether the noncompliance with an FMVSS or a safety-related defect is determined to exist by the manufacturer or by NHTSA, the manufacturer must provide owners and dealers of the affected products with notification of the noncompliance or defect and must remedy the noncompliance or defect, usually without charge. 45 The notification and remedy process is commonly referred to as a “safety recall campaign” or more simply as a “recall.” NHTSA monitors the remedy program to ensure its successful completion. The agency is not authorized to expend its funds on recalls; the expense of notifying owners and providing a remedy must be borne by the fabricating manufacturer and/or importer of the products found to contain the noncompliance or 46 Manufacturers are encouraged to contact NHTSA at 202-366-5210 or review the agency’s web site for defect. Several complaints have been associated with this 3rd brake light harness defect which causes this safety item to fail State Inspection. NTSA needs to conduct a analysis and hold the manufacturer accountable to remedy this safety defect IAW this Code. I have contacted Wynne Ford and Ford Motor Company with my concern without any satisfaction.
TOOK MY CAR FOR INSPECTION AND REJECTED FOR 3RD HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT NOT WORKING. CAR ONLY HAS 31000 MILES. VERY COSTLY REPAIR.. NO POWER GOING TO LIGHT.FORD MADE POOR QUALITY LED SYSTEM FAILED. RESEARCHED AND FOUND OUT HIGH NUMBER OF THESE LIGHT SYSTEM FAILED WITH LOW MILAGE. I BELIEVE OSHA HAS A REGULATION CONCERNING QUALITY OF WORK. A BETTER QUALITY OF LIGHTNING SYSTEM NEEDS TO DEVELOPED TO ANF FORD NEEDS TO REPLACE THE LIGHT SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY COST FOR CUSTOMERS. DEFINITELY A RECALL ITEM SINCE IT CAN GO OUT ANYTIME WHILE DRIVING PLACING THE DRIVER AND OTHER DRIVERS BEHING THE CAR.
CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE WHEN I DRIVE IT IN THE HIGHWAY NORMAL SPEED AND NOT ISSUES WITH MOUNTS. MECHANIC CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT.
A/C STARTED TO BLOW HOT AIR. THE AUTO REPAIR STATED ITS THE EVAPORATOR NEED REPLACE, ITS A COSTLY JOB AND VERY COMMON.
EVAPORATOR CORE WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY ON THE AIR CONDITIONER
Two wiring harness went bad one stated below and the other a back up camera harness which cause safety hazards. a I spoke with Ford Motor Representative reference the issue below and she informed me that the Dealership needs to submit the paper work. I Contacted Wynne Ford,1020 W Mercury Blvd, Hampton, VA 23666, 757-838-3673, three times to send the necessary paper work to Ford Motor Company for reimbursement of approximately $278 I paid in March 2020 to replace the 3rd brake light harness. This failed harness caused my vehicle to fail the State Safety Inspection. I had only one return call from [XXX], Service Department Representative, I asked her Dealership to send the paper work to Ford Motor Company. Still I have not received any response from them if they sent the paper work. I informed [XXX] to include in the paper work Chapter 301 of Title 49 of the United States Code (U.S.C.) which requires a manufacturer of motor vehicles or items of motor vehicle equipment that contain a defect relating to motor vehicle safety to remedy the defect without charge. NSTB could not help me because they said it is individual dispute. This is not an individual dispute. It comes under the Code reference below! I summited numerous complaints to NSTB on this matter. I did contact Ford Manufacturer who advised me to contact Wynne Ford to summit the paper work. Two weeks has elapsed and Wynne Ford has not summited the paper work. Request You have someone in your organization investigate the issue and get in touch with Wynne Ford or Ford Manufacturer since it comes under United States Code Chapter 301 Title 49! Your NHTSA representative made me aware of this Code and stated someone in your organization would investigate this matter. No one in this organization has investigated this matter or contacted them. A failed 3rd Brake light harness (Safety Hazard) caused my vehicle to fail State Inspection.
Bad harness wiring for 3rd Backup Brake light and now Backup Camera. Received a recall for backup camera. Good info to correct safety hazard. Waiting for backup camera harness to arrive at Wynne Ford Dealership. I took my vehicle in for safety inspection to Wynne Ford, Hampton, VA, 757-838-3673 and 3rd Backup Light Failed Inspection because of safety hazard. On 24 Mar 2020 Wynne Ford installed a harness for the bad wiring. Cost to fix safety hazard out of pocket was $279.41. Request reimbursement of $279.41 to cover my expense on a safety hazard.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT VISIBILITY WAS DECREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROSSROAD FORD OF SOUTH PINE LOCATED AT 1590 US HWY 1 SOUTH, SOUTHERN PINES NC, 28387, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE EVAPORATOR CORE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
THE PASSENGER WINDOW TRIES TO GO UP AND DOWN WHILE DRIVING AND SITTING STATIONARY EVEN WHEN MY CAR IS OFF
WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED I ATTEMPTED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP. MANY LIGHTS AND WARNINGS LIT UP LETTING ME KNOW I HAD NO BRAKE FLUID. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO FORD AND INSPECTED IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE HAD RUPTURED AND THE DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LINE HAD A 'BUBBLE' AND ALSO NEEDED REPLACEMENT.THIS WAS A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IF I WERE ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED THIS COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS BRAKE FAILURE IN THE 2016 MUSTANG.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken for inspection and the local dealer diagnosed that the third backup light and harness were defective. There were no warning lights on the instrument panel prior to the inspection. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was uncertain if the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN BEAUMONT TEXAS AT 70 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR JUST CAME UNLATCHED. THEN WITHIN 3 MINS THRE DRIVER SIDE DOOR DID THE SAME THING! WE OPENED THE REST OF THE WAY N RECLOSED. BUT THAT'S SCARY AT 70MPH!
DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN THE VACUUM PUMP THAT DRIVES THE BREAK BOOSTER IS CONNECTED TO THE CAM WITH A THREADED CAMSHAFT EXTENSION. THIS PART SHEARED OFF CAUSION THE VACUUMED PUMP TO LOOSE VACUUM AND THE BREAK BOOSTER TO UNEXPECTEDLY STOP FUNCTIONING. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE. THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO BREAK. THE RESIDUAL VACUUM PREVENTED THE BREAK LIGHT FROM ILLUMINATING TEMPORARILY. THE BREAKS BECAME DIFFICULT TO PRESS, ABS SPORADICALLY ENGAGED AND THE BREAKING SITUATION WAS UNCONTROLLED PLACING LIFE AND PROPERTY AT RISK.
CAR MOTION AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. CAR WAS TOAD FROM THE FREEWAY TO DRIVERS HOUSE. CAR LANDED SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AT A DITCH.

VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70+ MPH, PASSENGER DOOR SUDDENLY CAME LOOSE AND STARTED GETTING PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHTS AND YOU COULD HEAR WIND PASSING INTO THE CAR. THANKFULLY THE PASSENGER WAS HOLDING THE DOOR AT THE TIME SO IT DID NOT FULLY OPEN. VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED.*DT*JB
SEAT WARMER QUIT WORKING. UPON INSPECTION BY MECHANIC, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT HEATER MODULE SHORTED AT MODULE; MELTED CONNECTOR. (OWNER ALSO REPORTED COULD SMELL AN 'ELECTRICAL BURN' SCENT AFTER USING REMOTE START WHERE THE SEAT WARMER IS AUTOMATICALLY SET.)
WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED, MY PASSENGER DOOR UNLATCHES AND I RECEIVE A "DOOR OPEN" WARNING ON THE DASH. THIS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES INCLUDING SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE A PASSENGER WAS SEATED NEXT TO THE OPEN DOOR AND I FEEL IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. I REPORTED IT TO FORD CORPORATE AND THEY ADVISED ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MORE THAN A DOZEN INSTANCES WITH MY VEHICLE.
I PURCHASED MY DREAM CAR FROM AUTONATION OF FREMONT/ HONDA. I DROVE 90 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE PURCHASE THE SHELBY. UPON ARRIVAL, I MET WITH [XXX], SUPERVISOR IN SALES. BEFORE SIGNING DOCUMENTS, THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR WAS ADVERTISED AT 45,900. [XXX] INDICATED THE PRICE WAS ADVERTISED WRONG AND WAS AT 47,500. [XXX] STATED TO MAKE UP THE PRICE DIFFERENCE, HE WAS GOING TO TINT THE WINDOWS AND ADD PAINT PROTECTION. LAST MONTH I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A CLAIM LAST MONTH FOR THE SWIRL MARKS AND FADING ON BUMPERS AND BREMBO BRAKES. WELL, AUTONATION INDICATED I DID NOT HAVE THE PAINT PROTECTION WARRANTY. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT MO, AND [XXX], GENERAL SALES MANAGER OF AUTONATION, NO RESPONSE. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS, BUT THIS IS WHAT PUT IT OVER THE TOP. DURING SIGNING OF THE CONTRACT, THEY UP SOLD ME 6000 DOLLARS OF VARIES WARRANTIES. BY THE TIME I CAME HOME TO READ THE DOCUMENTS, I CANCELED ALL THE WARRANTIES. IT TOOK AUTONATION 2 MONTHS TO FIX THE DOCUMENTS AND AUTONATION STATED WE COULD NOT REMOVE WINDSHIELD INSURANCE. I STILL PAID 700 JUST TO GET THE DOCUMENTS IN ORDER. NOT ONLY THAT, [XXX] STATED MY BREMBO BRAKES SQUEAK BECAUSE THEY ARE "HIGH PERFORMANCE", HE DIDN'T FIX THE SQUEAK EVEN WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK WHEN IT WAS TINTED. BY FAR, THIS IS THE WORST CAR EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. I CALLED AUTONATION COOPERATE AND THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED DRIVING AT 30 MPH, SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT UNAWARE IF THERE WAS ANY LEAKS. THE CONTACT TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON WHICH RESUMED NORMAL VEHICLE OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MONRO AUTO SERVICE AND TIRE CENTER 1769 KUSER RD, HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ 08690, (609) 308-3139 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP, DRIVE BELT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V779000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE NHTSA HOTLINE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 78,971.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the rearview camera screen turned black while reversing. The contact stated that the failure occurred very frequently. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.
JUST PICKED MY CAR UP FROM DEALERSHIP, DUE TO A BATTERY ISSUE THAT I PREVIOUSLY POSTED ABOUT, AND MY DRIVER SIDE VENTS ARE BLOWING WARM AIR. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE AND JUST LIKE THE BATTERY ISSUE I REPORTED, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WITH THE 2016 FORD MUSTANG. I WILL NOW HAVE TO BRING MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HOPE THAT THEY CAN GET AROUND TO DIAGNOSING IT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLS REGARDING THESE ISSUES, WHEN FORD IS OBVIOUSLY SELLING DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. MY CAR HAS 30,400 MILES TOMORROW WILL MAKE THE 5TH TIME IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER THE PAST YEAR. INVESTIGATION INTO THESE CARS ARE OBVIOUSLY WARRANTED.
CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP ON 09/04/2019, DUE TO MAJOR CORROSION ON POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL, WHICH HAD CAUSED ENTIRE BATTERY CONNECTOR TO CRUMBLE. FORD SAID IT WAS A BAD BATTERY AND REPLACED IT AT A COST OF $209 TO ME. THIS MORNING, 09/19/2019,I WALKED OUTSIDE AND FOUND ORANGE LIQUID (ASSUMING BATTERY ACID) ON CEMENT UNDER WHERE THE BATTERY IS LOCATED ON CAR. I OPENED HOOD AND FOUND THAT THE NEW BATTERY ALREADY HAS NEW CORROSION ON THE POSITIVE TERMINAL. I HAVE READ IN SEVERAL FORUMS THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR QUITE A FEW FORD OWNERS. OBVIOUSLY, THE PROBLEM IS NOT THE BATTERY BUT SOME UNDERLYING ISSUE THAT IS CAUSING BATTERY TO OVERCHARGE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE AIR-CONDITIONING IN THE CAR STOPED WORKING. THE CAR ONLY BLOWS OUT HOT AIR NOW. I'M NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT BUT THIS IS A MASSIVE PROBLEM FOR THE VEHICLE THAT A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH REVEALS. THIS PROBLEM IS RAMAPNT AND THE CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD. FORD CLAIMS THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR $50,000 DOLLAR CAR HAVING MECHANICAL FAILURES 3 YEARS AFTER IT WAS BUILT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP TOLD ME TO TALK TO THE APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT AGENCY IF I DIDN'T LIKE IT
I AM POSTING ABOUT THE 2016 FORD MUSTANG. I WANTED TO ADD MY COMPLAINT BECAUSE I KNOW IT IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE FIXED FOR IT'S CUSTOMERS.IT IS A LEAK IN THE EVAPORATOR CORE WHERE THE AIR STOPS WORKING (BLOWING WARM AIR)
