THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE OF THE BLOWER FAN RESISTER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE NEVER RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COTTERS GMC (435 HALL AVE, ST MARY'S, PA 15857, 814-834-2063) AND THEY PROVIDE A VERBAL DIAGNOSIS OF THE BLOWER RESISTER FAN AND ELECTRICAL HARNESS FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

MY TRUCK IS MY BACK-UP VEHICLE THAT SITS IN THE SIDE DRIVEWAY MOST OF THE TIME BUT I DRIVE WHEN I'M TRANSPORTING LARGE ITEMS OR MOVING TO A NEW HOME. I RECENTLY DROVE IT AND NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING AND WENT SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT RELATED ISSUES ON THE INTERNET WHEN I FOUND A RECALL NOTICE POSTED ON GMC'S WEBSITE BUT THEY ARE SAYING IT'S PAST THE "TIME" ALLOWED TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM OR A TIME FRAME TO GET THIS DONE BECAUSE I DON'T DRIVE THIS TRUCK MUCH. NOW I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DEALERSHIP'S INSPECTION OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ONLY TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THAT IT'S INDEED BROKE AND THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO REPAIR IT UNDER THE RECALL. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO BUT I'M HOPPING MAD BECAUSE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT OTHER GMC OWNERS PROBABLY HAD REPAIRED BUT BECAUSE THIS WAS MY BACK-UP VEHICLE, I'M PENALIZED FOR NOT HAVING THE PROBLEM SURFACE EARLIER BEFORE THE "TIME" FRAME EXPIRED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER GAUGES DON'T ALWAYS WORK. WE WERE ON FREEWAY WHEN WE NOTICED SPEEDOMETER HAD FAILED AS WELL AS FUEL GAUGE , TEMP GAUGE ALL GAUGES INOPERATIVE. THIS IS THIRD TIME CLUSTER PANEL IS BEING REPLACED; FIRST TWO UNDER WARRANTY THIRD TIME WE HAD TO PAY $204.
BATTERY RUNS DOWN DRAINED, CONTROL PANEL LIGHTS GOES OUT. AC QUIT WORKING. VEHICLE SITS IN OUR YARD MOST OF THE TIME. WE HAVE TO CHARGE BATTERY EVERY DAY IN ORDER TO GO ANYWHERE.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,892.
PARKED MY TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY TONIGHT AND SHUT IT OFF. THE MIRRORS WENT CRAZY, AND THE RADIO WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. AFTER A FEW MINUTES I STARTED THE TRUCK AND SHUT IT BACK OFF. THE RADIO WENT OFF. SINCE OWNING THE TRUCK, WHICH IS NOT VERY LONG, I HAVE HAD THE POWER SEATS READJUST THEMSELVES, BY THEM SELVES, AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS CRUSHING ME. I AM A BIG MAN AND I PREFER THAT NO ONE ADJUST MY SEATS, AS I HAVE THEM JUST RIGHT FOR ME. THIS TRUCK AND ITS WIRING/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ARE PROBLEMATIC. SO SORRY I BOUGHT IT NOW. *TR
IGNITION WILL NOT TURN OVER. BATTERY IS FINE, EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT TURNING OVER. WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY NOTHING HAPPENS EVERYTHING GOES DEAD. I HAVE A VIDEO. *JS
RUSTED OUT/ CORRODED BRAKE LINES BURST WHILE STOPPING FOR A DEER RUNNING OUT ON THE ROAD. WAS WARNED OF THIS PROBLEM UPON PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE IN 2010 AND PERSONALLY COATED ALL BRAKE LINES B4 WINTER EVERY YEAR...NEVER SAW WORSE LINES! I OWN CLASSIC CARS THAT ARE TWICE AS OLD WITH SHINEY ORIGINAL BRAKE LINES. THE FUEL LINES ALSO ROTTED OUT SPILLING FUEL OVER THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK AND ON THE GROUND WHILE FILLING UP. ALL FUEL LINES AND FUEL PUMP CONNECTIONS WERE SEVERELY ROTTED. WORST I HAVE SEEN. DASH CONSISTENTLY CHANGES LANGUAGES RENDERING ODOMETER NON FUNCTIONAL. SPEEDOMETER IS INACCURATE SOME TIMES NOT EVEN WORKING ESPECIALLY ON COLD DAYS. HMMMM ROTTED BRAKES+NO SPEEDOMETER+LEAKY FUEL LINES=CRASH,BANG BOOM!..AND I HAVE A CAR SEAT IN MY VEHICLE! LUCKLY I PERFORM PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND DRIVE SAFELY. STILL WONDER HOW THESE ISSUES GOT SWEPT UNDER THE RUG.

ALL OF THE VEHICLE INSTRUMENT GAUGES GO INOPERATIVE INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE NEW. THERE HAS BEEN A GM ACTION OF SORT ON THIS, OF WHICH I AM NOT SURE. HOWEVER, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED AND CURRENTLY AM EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A GM DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THE MAINTENANCE ACTION(WHATEVER IT IS) EXPIRED IN 2011. SO THE REPAIR IS TOTALLY UPON US TO FIX, SOME $540. *TR

THE ABS LIGHT BRAKE LIGHT AND THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THE SECURITY LIGHT ALL COME ON. ALSO ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS WHEN ALL THIS HAPPENS THE HEADLIGHTS DIM THE FOURWHEEL DRIVE DOESN'T FUNCTION AND THE VOLUME LEVEL ON THE STEREO CHANGES. *TR
I HAVE A 2004 GMC SIERRA THAT HAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE ABS OR BRAKE SYSTEM. THE BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT AND SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING BECAUSE THE A/C DRAWS POWER FROM THE BATTERY AND I CAN SEE THAT A CERTAIN LEVEL THE INDICATORS GO OFF. MOST OF THE TIME THE LIGHTS CHIME AND BLINK WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE BUT IT ALSO HAS HAPPENED WHEN JUST TURNED THE TRUCK ON. I'VE REPLACED THE ROTORS AND PADS TO STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S A GROUND OR SENSOR THAT IS FAILING. I'VE FOUND TSB FOR REGROUNDING, FAILING SENSORS, OR ECBM. STILL HAVEN'T FOUND THE CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. I JUST HOPE THE ABS FUNCTIONS WHEN I NEED IT. *TR
