My vehicle dash has been displaying the TPMS light (blinking then solid), Power Steering, Traction control light for the past year to two. I have checked my tire pressure they are to specifications the sensors are fine, my traction control does not respond to the button in the car to enable or disable the traction control. I thankfully have not yet lost power steering but the light is on. I had researched the problem and have found several and I mean several honda accord owners all with the same problem. Only yesterday did my ABS light on my dash turned on and has consistently stayed on (on occasion would turn off like the others but then reappear). Based on internet searches and forums all things point to a faulty ABS module, a module countless honda accord owners have indicated Honda is aware of such fault and expect honda owners to pay an exorbitant amount of money to repair it when its a model wide issue. The danger this poses is the uncertainty of the reliability of these features that are meant to keep motorists safe. To make matters worse I am concerned about the safety of my family with a toddler and infant when riding my vehicle. This is not something that broke down due to negligence on the vehicle owners part. This is a manufacturer issue that affects every single honda accord from 2013 through 2022. To make matters worse when people tried to get the ABS module fixed its unavailable. Honda needs to repair all these modules and a recall needs to be issued. This is unacceptable. I will be very hesitant to buy another Honda again.
THIS PROBLEM STARTED TWO YEARS AGO AND GOT WORSE IN MAY. IT ALL STARTED WHE WE HAD A ROUGH TIME STARTING THE VEHICLE IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 6 TIME UNTIL THE CAR WOULD FINALLY START. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE BATTERY SO WE CHANGED THE BATTER UP TO FOUR TIME AND IT STILL KEPT HAVING STARTING ISSUES SO THEN WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE STARTER SO WE HAD IT REPLACED AND WE ARE STILL HAVING ISSUES AND NOW THE CAR STALLED ON ME WHILE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION AND IT TOOK NUMEROUS TRIES AND IT FINALLY TURNED OVER. OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAD THE CAR FOR 13 WEEKS AND TOLD US THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE STARTING ISSUES AND THEN TOLD US A FEW DAYS LATER THEY DIDNT PUSH THE BUTTON IN LONG ENOUGH SO IT WAS THERE MECHANICS FAULT AND THEN TELL US THEY FIND A DRAW ON THE BATTERY AND A FEW DAYS LATER TELLS US THERE MECHANIC USED A FAULTY METER AND THEN THEY BLAME IT ON OUR INTERNET, SMART TVS, GARAGE DOOR OPENER AND WIFI. I AM SO TIRED OF ALL THE EXCUSES AND NEED A CAR THAT'S NOT GOING TO LEAVE ME STRANDED AND THAT I CAN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR OUT OF TOWN RIGHT NOW THAT'S NOT THE CASE. I DO HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS THAT HAVE HAD TO COME TO MY RESCUE TO JUMP START MY CAR OR WE HAVE HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WE HAVE HAD TWO ASE CERTIFIED MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE STARTING ISSUES AND THE BATTERY DRAINING AND THEY BOTH TOLD US TO TAKE IT TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WE HAVE LOTS OF VIDEO AND DOCUMENTATION OF WHAT THE CAR IS DOING AND ALSO FRIENDS THAT WILL SPEAK ON OUR BEHALF. NO ONE WILL RIDE WITH ME ANYMORE IN FEAR THE CAR WONT START OR STALL WHILE STOPPED IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. WE STARTED HAVING ISSUES TWO YEARS AGO BUT GOT ALOT WORSE IN MAY OF THIS YEAR.
CAR HAS 52000 MILES AND CAR IS BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL. I HAVE READ HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN THE 2013 ACCORD EARTH DREAMS ENGINES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. THE 2008-2012 ACCORD ENGINES HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND I BELIEVE ANOTHER ONE IS WARRANTED FOR THE 9TH GEN 2014-2017 ACCORD 2.4L MODELS..I AM LOSING ABOUT 1QT OF OIL PER 1000 MILES. THESE HONDA ENGINES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE OWNERS NEED HELP.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR IT WOULD TURN EASY TO THE RIGHT BUT TURN HARD TO THE LEFT. WE TOOK IT IN TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE NEUTRAL SENSOR BECAUSE IT LOST ITS PROGRAMMING THEY SAY. THE CAR DROVE GOOD FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT IT STARTED DOING THE SAME THING AS BEFORE, BUT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE AND STARTED JERKING TO THE LEFT AND OVER STEERING WITH OUT WARNING. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND THEY NOW SAID IT NEEDED THE WHOLE STEERING RACK REPLACED FOR $2300. HOWEVER, THERE IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS PROBLEM THAT STATES THIS PROBLEM IS COVERED AND HONDA IS SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROBLEM. AS STATED ABOVE THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE AFTER IT CAME BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP.THE SERVICE BULLETIN # IS 15-056 WHICH IS THE EPS TORQUE SENSOR WHICH THEY SAID NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED, WHICH MADE THE STEERING GOOD ONLY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. WITH THAT SAID I AM NOT SURE HOW THE EPS TORQUE SENSOR IS NOT A DEFECT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY? THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS HONDA INCORP. CLAIMS THIS PROBLEM IS NOT RELATED TO THE TORQUE SENSOR. THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA SAYS THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BULLETING SAYS THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT HONDA IS TO PAY FOR IT.
HEN ATTEMPTING TO START ENGINE OF PARKED VEHICLE, NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN KEY WAS TURNED. TOOK SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START CAR EACH TIME.
WHEN STARTING PUSHING THE START BUTTON THE CAR WONT START UNTIL AFTER A FEW TRIES, I EVEN BROUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM.. I HAVE ABOUT A LITTLE OVER 77 THOUSAND MILES.. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE.
STARTER IS MALFUNCTIONING. GRINDS AT FIRST AND TYPICALLY STARTS ON SECOND OR THIRD ATTEMPT.
WHILE BACKING OUT OF A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY ONTO A BUSY NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE STEERING MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I ATTEMPTED TO STEER THE VEHICLE BUT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING(EPS) WAS COUNTERING THE STEERING EFFORT. I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IN HOPES TO REGAIN STEERING CONTROL, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. THE ONLY WAY I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN STEERING CONTROL WAS WITH THE CAR OFF AND IN NEUTRAL, MEANING I HAD NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE FROM ONCOMING TRAFFIC, RELYING ONLY ON THE MOMENTUM OF THE SLOPED ROAD TO HELP GUIDE THE VEHICLE SAFELY AWAY FROM TRAFFIC LANES. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED THE THE DEALER THE NEXT MORNING. SERVICE ADVISER LOOKED UP VEHICLE HISTORY AND THE RECALL FOR EPS CONTROLLER SOFTWARE HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED 2 YEARS PRIOR. HONDA HAD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM DUE TO KNOWN TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE ISSUES. ADVISER SAID IF, OBD SCAN SHOWS FAULT CODE RELATING TO TORQUE SENSOR FAILURE, HONDA WOULD COVER COMPLETE COST TO REPLACE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM. HOURS LATER, ADVISER CONTACTS ME AND SAYS THE SCAN SHOWS THAT IT WAS NOT THE THE TORQUE SENSOR THAT FAILED, BUT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING COMPUTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT MY COST. I ARGUED THAT THERE WAS NO POSSIBLE WAY FOR THE CONSUMER TO PREVENT SUCH AN ISSUE FROM OCCURRING, AND THE FACT THAT A COMPUTER SYSTEM CONTROLLING THE STEERING FAILED WHILE I WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE IS AN ALARMING SAFETY ISSUE THAT AMERICAN HONDA SHOULD LOOK INTO AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BEAR THE BURDEN OF PAYING FOR SUCH A REPAIR. VEHICLE HAS 83,100 MILES, ORIGINAL OWNER AND ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AT SAME DEALER. NEVER HAD PRIOR STEERING ISSUES AND WAS NEVER ADVISED OF ANY POTENTIAL ISSUES. HONDA SYMPATHETICALLY ONLY AGREED TO COVER HALF THE REPAIR COST.
VEHICLE ONLY HAS 77,000 AND SEEMS TO TURN OFF ON IT OWN , LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE STAYS ON BUT WHEN TRYING TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE IT WONT TURN ON
WHEN PUSHING START BUTTON THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE A GRINDING SCREECHING NOISE. AT 34,000 MILES STARTER WAS REPLACED. NOW AT 70,000 MILES SAME NOISE IS COMING AGAIN FROM ENGINE. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH V6 MODELS. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN 16-002 FOR THIS ISSUE HOWEVER AFTER ADDRESSING THE ISSUE ONCE ALREADY IT SEEMS TO BE A REOCCURRING ISSUE.
ON 4/12/2019, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT AROUND 24:00 (MIDNIGHT) ON FREEWAY 22 WESTBOUND NEAR THE BLOCK THAT I SUDDENLY REALIZED I LOST CONTROL OF MY STEERING WHEEL WHILE I WAS TRAVELING AT 70MPH PLUS. THE STEERING WHEEL ICON LIGHT UP ON MY DASHBOARD. THIS HAPPENED SO FAST AT A CURVE AREA OF THE FREEWAY, I TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHT AND SLOWED THE CAR DOWN BY HITTING THE BREAK. THERE WERE AROUND 4 CARS TO MY RIGHT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY REACH THE EXIT LANE TO THE RIGHT DUE TO THE CURVATURE OF THE FREEWAY TURNING LEFT BY GOING STRAIGHT. AS I SLOWED DOWN THE CAR ON THE EXIT LANE, I YANKED THE STEERING WHEEL VERY HARD TO THE LEFT THEN RIGHT TO MANEUVER THE CAR TO STAY IN THE LANE. AFTER I EXITED THE FREEWAY ON HASTER STREET, I YANKED THE STEERING WHEEL VERY HARD TO THE RIGHT TO MAKE THE TURN AND FOUND A SMALL STREET THEN COME TO A STOP. AT THIS TIME, THE STEERING WHEEL ICON STILL ILLUMINATED ON MY DASHBOARD. I TURNED OF THE CAR AFTER PUT IT TO PARK THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE ICON DISAPPEARED. I GOT CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL BACK. I PROCEEDED TO GARDEN GROVE STREET HEADING WEST TOWARD MY HOME. AT THE FIRST RED LIGHT ON GARDEN GROVE, I STOPPED AND DID NOT STEER THE WHEEL. AGAIN, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ON ME AGAIN. THE ICON APPEARED AGAIN ON MY DASHBOARD. I AGAIN TURNED OFF AND ON THE CAR AND THE ICON DISAPPEARED AND I HAD MY CONTROL BACK. FROM THERE, I DROVE SLOWLY IN THE RIGHT LANE TO MY HOME. THIS TIME, THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. ON 4/13/2019, WHICH IS TODAY, I DROPPED OFF MY CAR AT HONDA WORLD DEALER ON 13600 BEACH BLVD, WESTMINSTER, CA 92683 AND TOLD ONE OF THE REPS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. HE DID THE INQUIRY ON MY CAR AND SYSTEM SHOWED THERE WAS A RECALL OF EPS GEARBOX REPLACEMENT AT THIS DEALERSHIP. I HOPE NHTSA WILL TAKE THIS SERIOUS AND HELP PEOPLE LIKE ME. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL.
CUSTOMER RECEIVED NOTICE OF OPEN RECALL17-069 PREVIOUSLY AFFECTED VEHICLES RECALLED UNDER 17-057 WERE TEMPORARILY REPAIRED AND NOW WILL HAVE A NEW BATTERY MANAGEMENT SENSOR UNDER THIS NEW BULLETIN TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE BATTERY SENSOR AND IF THERE IS NO COUNTERMEASURES MARK. REPLACED THE SENSOR. IF THERE IS A COUNTERMEASURES MARK THE SENSOR IS OK AT THIS TIME. I'M STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS RECALL UNDER THIS 17-057 WITH A HEALTHY STARTER, BRAND NEW BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR PARTS JOB#3 AT FPS NUMBER 38920-T2A-AO4 DESCRIPTION SENSOR.B36999 THXS HOPEFULLY Y'ALL WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS OPEN RECALL THAT'S STOPPING ME, FROM ENJOYING MY FAVORITE CAR DEALERSHIP JEFF WYLER FROM GETTING BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I'AM A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND CONTINUE TO BE IN THE NEAR FUTURE AND THXS AGAIN. I HOPE THIS PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED
PUSH BUTTON START IS NOT RESPONDING ON A REGULAR BASIS. WHEN BUTTON IS PUSHED,THE BATTERY IS ACTIVATED AND ALL LIGHTS AND RADIO ARE OPERATIONAL, HOWEVER THE CAR DOES NOT START. BATTERY HAS BEEN TESTED AND ALL CONNECTIONS SEEM TO BE WORKING PROPERLY. V6 MODELS OF THIS CAR HAVE HAD A SERVICE BULLETIN 16-002 ISSUED FOR STARTER, HOWEVER MY CAR IS A FOUR CYLINDER AND THEREFORE NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE LOOKED AT UNDER SERVICE BULLETIN.. ISSUE CAN HAPPEN AFTER SEVERAL STARTS DURING THE DAY, AFTER SITTING IN COLD OR GARAGE. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHETHER THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING OR NOT. CAR HAS 102,000 MILES ON IT, AND IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS SAME SITUATION WITH MY MODEL, SEEMS AS THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS WITH THE V6. THIS IS AN ONGOING AND RANDOM ISSUE. I HAVE NEVER BEEN UNABLE TO START THE CAR AFTER SEVERAL TRIES, BUT NOT SURE IF THIS LUCK WILL END SOON.
THE CAR HAS A PUSH BUTTON START. SOMETIMES THE STARTER ON THE CAR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. AT TIMES, THE CAR FAILS TO START FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES AND INDICATES THAT THE STARTER SYSTEM IS NOT NOT WORKING PROPERLY. IT ALSO INDICATES THAT THE POWER IS STILL ON. EVEN AFTER THE IGNITION IS OFF, THE POWER IS STILL ON. ON JUNE 27, 2019, I HAD TO PAY $773.84 TO REPLACE THE STARTER. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THE CAR ONLY HAS 51,562 MILES. THE PROBLEM STARTED BEFORE 50,000 MILES BUT HAPPENED INFREQUENTLY. OVER THE MONTHS, THE PROBLEM GREW WORSE. NOW THE CAR MAY NOT START IN THE EVENING BUT STARTS IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT MORNING. GETTING STRANDED IS A DEFINITE RISK. THE DANVILLE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN VIRGINIA SAID THEY KEEP THE STARTERS IN STOCK BECAUSE THEY ARE REPLACING A LOT OF THEM. THERE ARE ALSO DISCUSSIONS ON-LINE ABOUT THE PROBLEM - COMMUNITY TALK. THEREFORE, HONDA SHOULD REPLACE THE STARTERS FREE OF CHARGE.
PUSH BUTTON START DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE CAR IS UNPREDICTABLE BECAUSE IT FREQUENTLY FAILS TO START WHEN I PUSH THE ENGINE BUTTON. SOMETIMES IT STARTS ON THE FIRST TRY, BUT I AM FREQUENTLY LEFT TRYING TO CRANK THE CAR FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES. ONE DAY IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL BUT STARTED IMMEDIATELY THE NEXT MORNING. THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED FOR MONTHS AND THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000 MILES. I READ ON 'COMMUNITY TALK' THAT OTHER HONDA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. ON JUNE 27, 2019, I HAD TO PAY OVER $773.84 TO REPLACE THE STARTER. THE DEALERSHIP IN DANVILLE, VA. SAID THEY KEEP THE STARTERS IN STOCK BECAUSE THEY ARE REPLACING ALL OF THEM.
THE BATTERY SENSOR HAS GAPS WHICH COULD LEAD TO A FIRE OR OTHER DANGEROUS COMPLICATIONS. THE CAR OFTEN DOESN'T START. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ON THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR BUT NOT THIS VIN.
ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, 2019 WE MADE A 600 MILE TRIP FROM COOKEVILLE, TN TO SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI WITH NO PROBLEMS NOTED. THE NEXT MORNING, BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY I NOTICED THE STEERING WAS NORMAL AT ONE POINT, I ROTATED THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THE WHEEL CONTINUED TURNING BY ITSELF WHILE THE CAR WAS NOT EVEN IN MOTION. I ROTATED THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT AND MET WITH RESISTANCE. I ROTATED THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND THE WHEEL STARTED TURNING BY ITSELF. I THEN NOTICED THE EPS LIGHT WAS ON. I CONTINUED TO ROTATE THE WHEEL BACK AND FORTH. I GOT TO THE CENTER POSITIONED AND THE WHEEL THEN TURNED RAPIDLY TO THE RIGHT BY ITSELF . I IMMEDIATELY DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALER. ON THE WAY THERE THE WHEEL VIOLENTLY TURNED TO THE RIGHT AND NEARLY CAUSED ME TO RUN INTO THE CURB AT 35 MPH.I THEN ARRIVED AT JIM RIEHL HONDA IN STERLING HEIGHTS , MICHIGAN. THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A "POSITION SENSOR". THEY RELATED TO ME THAT THEY HAD DOWNLOADED THE SOFTWARE AND THIS SEEMED TO HAVE CLEARED THE PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING BACK TO MY NEXT DESTINATION (10 MILES) THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM RESURFACED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT, WHICH WAS CLOSED. I LEFT A MESSAGE THAT I WAS BRINGING THE CAR IN MONDAY MORNING, APRIL 8, 2019.
THE VISOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE SUDDENLY POPPED AND NOW IT KEEPS FALLING, IMPAIRING VISIBILITY. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH OTHER HONDA'S AND IF THAT'S THE CASE, YOU NEED TO INVESTIGATE THIS AND PUT A RECALL ON IT BECAUSE NOT ONLY IS IT ANNOYING, BUT IT IS A HAZARD THAT MOST DEFINITELY IMPAIRS DRIVING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS!!!
KEYLESS PUSH BUTTON START WORKS INTERMITTENTLY TO START CAR - SOMETIMES TAKES 10 TRIES TO CRANK; BATTERY IS GOOD
A FEW DAYS AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED THE CAR WOULD NOT START WHEN I PRESSED THE START BUTTON. IT WENT INTO ACCESSORY MODE INSTEAD OF STARTING. EVERY DAY SINCE THEN IT HAS INTERMITTENTLY STARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. IT SOMETIMES REQUIRES FOUR, FIVE OR MORE ATTEMPTS TO START THE ENGINE. WE REPLACED THE BATTERY ON MAY 4, 2019. THE INTERMITTENT STARTS CONTINUE. I FOUND SEVERAL INTERNET SITES THAT LIST OTHER 2013 HONDA ACCORD OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO POSITIVE SOLUTIONS.
WHILE CORNERING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND DID NOT RIGHT ITSELF COMING OUT OF THE CORNER. OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, THE STEERING OCCASIONALLY FAILED. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND WHEN HONDA TESTED THE CAR, NO TORQUE SENSOR FAILURES WERE NOTED. ON THAT BASIS, HONDA DECLINED TO APPLY THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERING THE FAILED STEERING. HONDA WAS NOT INTERESTED IN PURSUING THE FAILURE TO SEE IF IT MIGHT IMPROVE THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL'S STEERING. HONDA CLAIMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RARE AND THAT THERE WAS NO INFORMATION OUT THERE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THE VEHICLE WOULD BE SAFELY DRIVABLE WITHOUT REPAIR. I HAVE 2013 ACCORD EXL 40K MILES, AND HAD INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM FROM LAST FEW WEKKS, DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S COLD OR HOT, SOMETIMES IT JUST DOESN'T START. I LEAVE IT ALONE FOR ABOUT A MIN OR TWO. BATTERY IS NOT THE PROBLEM AND I'VE ALREADY HAD IT TESTED. TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE, THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? IN EARLY 2019, AFTER MY HONDA DEALER REPLACED MY VEHICLE'S WATER PUMP, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE ON MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD. SOMETIMES, MY CAR STARTS RIGHT AWAY. BUT MORE OFTEN, IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE MY CAR WILL START USING THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE. WHEN REPEATED ATTEMPTS ARE NECESSARY TO START MY CAR, I HEAR A 'CLICKING' TYPE NOISE WHEN I PRESS THE START BUTTON, BUT MY CAR DOES NOT TURN OVER. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS PUSHING THE 'START' BUTTON, MY CAR EVENTUALLY STARTS (SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW SECONDS AND A FEW ATTEMPTS, SOMETIMES AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AND TWO OR THREE MINUTES). THE PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY, WHEN THE CAR IS COLD AND WARM. I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM UNTIL HONDA REPLACED THE WATER PUMP ON MY CAR EARLIER THIS YEAR. BASED ON OTHER WEB POSTS, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE IN 2013 HONDA ACCORDS. ONCE MY CAR STARTS, IT RUNS WELL. AT THIS PRESENT TIME, I HAVE NO OTHER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE. HOWEVER, MY CAR'S FAILURE TO START IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN ITSELF IF A CAR FAILS TO START IN A SITUATION WHERE A QUICK GET AWAY IS NECESSARY (FOR EXAMPLE, FLOOD, WILD FIRE, OR OTHER NATURAL OR OTHER DISASTER THAT MAY REQUIRE THAT MY CAR START WITHOUT DELAY).
MARCH 2019 DROVE CAR TO GYM WITHOUT INCIDENT. CAR WOULDN'T START AN HOUR LATER. AAA CAME AND THE TECH'S TOOLS INDICATED BATTERY HAD SUFFICIENT POWER. TECH TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO START CAR AND GOT IT TO RUN. HE ADVISED ME TO TAKE IT TO SHOP TO GET STARTER FIXED. I DROVE IT HOME INSTEAD AND THE CAR WORKED FINE FOR A MONTH. ONE MORNING IT DIDN'T START AGAIN. I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN TWO WEEKS LATER AND IT WAS FINE. THE NEXT DAY IT DIDN'T. FINALLY IN JULY 2019 I CALLED FOR A TOW. AAA CAME, JUMPED THE CAR AND ADVISED ME TO DRIVE DIRECTLY TO SHOP. AT SHOP, DETERMINED IT WAS JUST A DEAD BATTERY. REPLACED IT TODAY. AT 120000 MILES AND IN THE SPAN OF 6 YEARS, THIS IS THE THIRD BATTERY.
THE DEGREE OF INCLINATION OF THE FRONT SEATS HEAD RESTRAINTS IS SO PRONOUNCED THAT THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER ARE FORCED TO ASSUME AN EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE POSTURE THAT CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE SPINE

THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BACK WAS MOVED FORWARD TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE BACK SEAT. THEN THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BACK WOULD NOT LOCK IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. WITH NO SEAT BACK IN ITS UPRIGHT POSITION, IT WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE WELD ON THE SEAT FRAME THAT ALLOWED THE BACK TO BE LOCKED IN ITS UPRIGHT POSITION WAS BROKEN. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BROKEN SEAT FRAME. HE FRAME COST $1320 AND LABOR WAS $409.
PUSH BUTTON STARTER DOESN'T WORK NEARLY EVERY DAY. TODAY JULY 9 2019 IT WOULDN'T START 3 TIMES. EVERYTHING FREEZES (STEERING, BRAKE) BUT ALL LIGHTS LIGHT UP. THERE ARE 1,000'S OF PEOPLE THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TOO... SO FAR ONLY WHEN STARTING.
I am reporting a critical safety issue with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator in my 2013 Honda Accord Ex. The VSA modulator has failed, causing significant safety concerns, including erratic braking behavior, a complete loss of anti-lock braking (ABS) functionality, and compromised stability control. Only after avoiding near collision while driving on I5 freeway the failure illuminated various dashboard warning lights, such as the ABS light, VSA light, and brake system warning light. This failure has placed me, my passengers, and other road users at risk, especially with the stop and go traffic of rush hour. Luckily it was sunny clear weather because if there was even slight wet or slippery conditions I'm certain the harm would have been disastrous. -Known Technical Causes: Failure of internal solenoids or valves in the VSA modulator unit. Corrosion or damage to electronic components within the modulator. Malfunctioning sensors associated with the ABS and stability systems. -Repair Details: Replacement of the VSA modulator unit is often necessary. Cost of repair typically ranges between $2,000 and $3,000. Many owners report delays in repairs due to part availability. -Reports and Complaints: Numerous complaints can be found on forums, owner groups, and repair sites detailing identical failures in 2013–2017 Honda Accords. Commonly reported safety risks include increased stopping distances and difficulty maintaining control on slippery roads. Honda’s Response: Some owners report that Honda dealerships acknowledge the issue but do not offer repairs under warranty unless an extended warranty is in place. There is an already a recall for the VSA modulators for 2022 Accords. I believe this should be extended to their earlier models with the same issues.

REAR WHEEL BEARINGS DETERIORATED, CAUSING LOUD NOISES FROM THE REAR AT SPEEDS AS LOW AS 10 MILES PER HOUR. HAD TO BE REPLACED ON BOTH SIDES.

THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE STARTER REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
Very common problem it appears as there are several forum post from other accord owners 2013 and above that have all reported dash lights up with traction control, tire pressure, power steering, ABS and some instances Brake will illuminate on the dash board, and some have reported a combination of these lights or all of them. The culprit is a broken solder on the ABS module from my understanding and its something Honda is aware of but have not recalled. The part itself costs $1500, just for the part and does not include labor. This is a common issue that should be taken care of by honda as its a huge safety issue with the ABS, Traction control, power steering, tire pressure monitoring and brake not working when needed in an emergency situation. This is a huge safety risk that needs to be addressed. It also affects the value of the vehicle if not repaired.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
UPON START UP, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP. FCW FAILURE NOTED ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY. ACCELERATION NON EXISTENT IN THIS STATE. SEVERAL RESTARTS (34 WAS THE MAX), NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH. CAR RAN FINE. DEALER DIAGNOSED IT AS A TIMING CHAIN THAT HAD EXPANDED. SEEMS TO BE FIXED. (ONLY BEEN TWO DAYS). I THINK IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE LACK OF POWER COULD MANIFEST ITSELF AT ANY TIME. IMAGINE GETTING ON A HIGHWAY WITH NO POWER TO ACCELERATE.
VEHICLE HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION WHICH HAS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF OIL IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THIS HAS NOW DAMAGED OTHER VEHICLE PARTS LIKE CATALYTIC CONVERTER.
CAR HAS ISSUES STARTING AND WITH 60K MILES ONLY. THERE MIGHT BE A DEFECTIVE BATTERY SENSOR OR STARTER. ALTERNATOR CHECKED AND BATTERY CHECKED WITH NO ISSUES. IGNITION WILL NEED TO BE TURNED A FEW TIMES BEFORE CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. NO LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD INDICATING ANY ISSUES MECHANICALLY. SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AS MY VEHICLE IS MAINTAINED REGULARLY AND SERVICED BY HONDA. SOMETIMES IT STARTS RIGHT UP AND OTHER TIMES IT TAKES 3 TO 5 TURNS ON THE IGNITION FOR THE CAR TO START.
On a clear, rural, dry blacktop county highway at approximately 10:00AM December 19,2018 while driving at 50 miles per hour I suddenly lost steering control of my 2013 Honda Accord. This was instantaneous causing car to move to the right. When I steered to the left the car over-corrected and drove into the left ditch. My effort to straighten the car caused it to hit the frozen ditch bank parallel to left side of car. Side air bags deployed and car came to rest in adjacent hay field. My T-12 vertebra was broken, among other injuries. Cost to repair the car was $8,802.16. I always thought this was my fault, but recently I have experienced strange and unsettling steering glitches with this car. My spouse has also recently mentioned that he has noticed steering glitches while driving this Honda Accord.
AFTER EXPERIENCING HARD STARTING WHERE KEY WOULD NOT ACTIVATE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE FINALLY WOULD NOT START. AFTER DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATION, THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED STARTER SOLENOID AND STARTER MOTOR WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. STARTER MOTOR ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 42,000 MILES SHOULD NOT REQUIRE REPLACEMENT. HONDA HAS A LARGER ISSUE WITH STARTER MOTORS IN MY OPINION. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT WOULD NOT START.
MY HONDA ACCORD 2013 HAS A BURNING OIL ISSUE. FOR EVERY 3,000MILES, MY DIPSTICK WILL ONLY HAVE 1/2 OR 1/4 FROM THE ORIGINAL TOP LEVEL. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM LAST SEPTEMBER 2018 WHEN I TO A ROAD TRIP IN FRESNO. WHEN I CHECKED MY DIPSTICK, IT HARDLY HAD ANY OIL ON THE SUPPOSED LEVEL. I DROPPED BY A GAS STATION AND POURED 1QUART OF OIL AND THE OIL LEVEL WENT UP TO 1/2 OF THE DIPSTICK. IF I DID NOT PUT OIL, THEN MY CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN RUNNING WITHOUT ANY OIL AND COULD JUST STOP ANY MOMENT I WAS DRIVING. I INFORMED CENTURY HONDA ON 12/01/2018 ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS STILL IN EFFECT. AS OF TODAY, IT APPEARS CENTURY HONDA REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.

THE FOLLOWING MORNING I LOOKED AT THE CAR, DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG I FELTED VERY UNSAFE FROM CAR SUDDENLY SLOW IN THE MIDDLE OF HWY I-75 GOING FROM 70-75 MPH TO 25-30 MPH, THIS HAPPENED WITH OUT ANY WARNING OR ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER THE SHOULDER, DEFINITELY A BAD ACCIDENT WOULD HAPPENED HERE.
