SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT START. BRAKE IS DEPRESSED AND BUTTON IS PUSHED TO START, GREEN LIGHT GOES ON BUT CAR DOES NOT START. AIR CONDITIONER WILL RUN. I THEN PUSH THE STARTER BUTTON AND EVERYTHING GOES OFF AND TRY TO START THE CAR AGAIN. CAR USUALLY STARTS AFTER ONE OR TWO TIMES.
STARTER ISSUE THAT IS AFFECTED BY NOT ENGAGING DUE THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE OR OTHER HEAT SOURCE I.E. OIL PAN OR EXHAUST SYSTEM. I DROVE MY HONDA ACCORD 2013 ABOUT 60 MILES THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF AND CAME BACK AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. ONLY SOUND WAS ONE CLICK AS YOU TURNED THE KEY. TRIPLE A WAS CALLED AND THEY SAID THE ISSUE WAS NOT BATTERY RELATED AS THE BATTERY ITSELF WAS UNDER A YEAR OLD AND THE VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT WAS 12.81, MEASURED : 535 CCA, RATED: 500 CCA AT A TEMPERATURE OF 98. ALSO THE TEST FOR LOW CRANKING AMPS WAS 12.48 VOLTS, 13.4 AMPS. THE CHARGING SYSTEM TEST SHOWED 12.64 FOR BOTH LOADED AND UNLOADED. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT IT WAS A STARTER ISSUE THAT WAS AFFECTED BY THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE OR OTHER HEAT SOURCE I.E. OIL PAN OR EXHAUST SYSTEM. AFTER COOLING THE ENGINE STARTS WITHOUT A PROBLEM.
STARTER ISSUE THAT IS AFFECTED BY NOT ENGAGING DUE THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE OR OTHER HEAT SOURCE I.E. OIL PAN OR EXHAUST SYSTEM. DRIVING MY HONDA ACCORD FROM LAKE MARY TO FORT MEYERS BEACH WHERE I PULLED INTO A REST AREA NEAR RUBONIA FL, PARKED THE CAR AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. I CAME BACK TO THE CAR AND PROCEEDED TO INSERT MY KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENED. LUCKILY THERE WAS A STATE FARM ROAD RANGER IN THE REST STOP AND HE MOVED HIS TRUCK TO MINE AND PROCEEDED TO GIVE ME A JUMP. ONCE THE JUMPER CABLES WERE ON, THE CAR TURNED OVER WITHOUT AN ISSUE.
THREE MALFUNCTION INDICATORS HAVE COME ON IN CAR AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THOSE INDICATORS ARE TPMS TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT, VSA VEHICLE STABILITY ASSITS AND EPS ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THIS ONLY BEGAN AFTER I HAD MY BRAKES IN REAR OF CAR DONE AND CAR WAS ACTUALLY STATIONARY WHEN THESE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WITH REALLY NO CHANGE IN DRIVING. I HAVE GOOGLED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT MANY HONDA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE STARTER INTERMITTENTLY GRINDS/SPINS WHEN STARTING, REPLACED STARTER AND PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS TO THE PROBLEM ON LINE.HAVE LOCATED HONDA'S SERVICE BULLETIN TSB 16-002 BUT HONDA CLAIMS MY VIN NOT COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY.

HONDA ACCORD RECALL NHTSA RECALL NUMBER17V-418 CALLED LOCAL HONDA SERVICE CENTER, HONDA CITY IN BETHPAGE NY. THEY STATED THE DON'T HAVE THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL AND DON'T EXPECT TO GET THEM FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. PLEASE ADVISE.
THE HUMMING NOISE ON AND OFF RANDOMLY IN RECENT DAYS ( 06/06/2018 ), SOMETIMES VERY LOUD LIKE A MOTORCYCLE ROARING BESIDE THE CAR. MOST OF THE NOISE HAPPEN AROUND 40-70 MPH WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ( LOUDER ) AND CITY ( HUMMING ). MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD IS AROUND 70000 +/- MILES, REPLACE NEW TIRES AT AROUND 63000 MILES, AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE AT DEALER, THUS NOT THE TIRES PROBLEM. DON'T KNOW WHERE THE NOISE COME FROM. MANY DRIVERS INDICATE THE SAME PROBLEMS WHEN SURF ONLINE COMPLAINS, AND MAYBE SOME SAFETY ISSUE TO WORRY.

ISSUE WITH PUSH BUTTON START. STARTED EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN PUSHING BUTTON, CAR WON'T START. TYPICALLY HIT THE BUTTON AGAIN AND CAR STARTS. NOW, HOWEVER, IT IS TAKING A FEW TO SEVERAL TIMES OF PUSHING THE START BUTTON FOR CAR TO START. THIS CAN HAPPEN AFTER BEING TURNED OFF FOR A MINUTE TO OVERNIGHT. THERE IS NO PATTERN. I'VE SEEN THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OWNERS OF THE '13 HONDA ACCORD WHEN I LOOK ONLINE. WHY HASN'T HONDA TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY & ISSUED A RECALL. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU GET STUCK SOMEWHERE & CAR WON'T START.
WE TURNED RIGHT OUT OF A PARKING LOT ONTO A BUSY CITY STREET AND GOT DOWN TO THE LIGHT. AS WE TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND BEFORE PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT. IT WAS VERY HARD TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL AT THIS POINT AS WE ARE TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER PARKING LOT TO TURN INTO SO WE COULD TRY AND FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. WE LOOKED AROUND THE CAR TO MAKE SURE NOTHING VISIBLE WAS WRONG AND DIDNT SEE ANYTHING SO WE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND SAT THERE FOR A BIT AND THEN TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON. ONCE WE TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON THE STEERING WAS FINE. WE DECIDED TO LOOK ONLINE AND SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAD EXPERIENCED THESE PROBLEM AND SEEN MANY HAVE. IF WE TURN THE STEERING WHEEL RIGHT OR LEFT WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES HARD TO TURN BUT IF YOU TURN THE ENGINE OFF THEN BACK ON IT WORKS AGAIN. I'M HOPING THE MANUFACTURER CAN RECALL THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT BEINGS THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM.
Engine burns oil excessively. Following the maintenance minder oil change schedule, the oil was under the minimum. Car was at around 83000 miles. Since within 5 year dealership asked to do a oil consumption test but car would be out of 5 yr window by end of it. Eventually this issue led to catalytic converter needed to be changed at 98500 miles due to the buildup from burning oil
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUSH START BUTTON FUNCTION FAILED TO START THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. AFTER WAITING FOR TWO HOURS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NEED TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AT 5 YEARS OLD MY HONDA ACCORD WILL NOW ONLY START ON THE FIRST TIME ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME. THIS STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND RADIO ALL POWER ON BUT THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OVER. SOMETIMES IT TAKES ME SEVERAL TIMES/MINUTES TO START. I HAD TO CHANGE MY BATTERY $176 & NOW THE KEY FOBS TOO AND THIS STILL OCCURRED. THIS HAS 411,000 RESULTS IF GOOGLED. THIS IS VERY COMMON ALTHOUGH HONDA CONTINUES TO NOT RECOGNIZE THIS AS AN ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS!
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON IN MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD AND I'M NOT SURE IF THIS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR WAS JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY THE NEXT MORNING I CAME OUT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON AND WON'T GO AWAY NOW.
PUSH BUTTON START IS ACTING STRANGE WHEN I PUSH BUTTON TO START THE CAR IT ONLY CLICKS THEN SECOND TRY IT MOSTLY STARTS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN STARTED ABOUT THREE MONTHS AGO NOWADAYS IT IS HAPPENING 3 OR 4 TIMES IN A WEEK.
PUSH BUTTON STAIR TEE HAS REPEATEDLY NOT WORKED. THE POWER GOES ON, MANY ICONS LIGHT UP, AND WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF, "POWER IS ON" MESSAGE APPEARS. THE POWER STAYS ON; I CANNOT TURN IT OFF. THE FOB BATTERY IS FINE, THE "BATTERY MANAGEMENT SENSOR" RECALL HAS BEEN DONE, AND IT STILL HAPPENS. AT LEAST SIX TIMES IN THE RECENT PAST THIS HAS HAPPENED AND THEN AFTER I LEAVE IT ALONE A WHILE, IT HAS STARTED. TODAY IT STARTED AFTER I WAITED AN HOUR WHICH WAS REALLY DIFFICULT AS I WAS OUT OF CELL PHONE RECEPTION AREAS. I AM TAKING IT IN MONDAY. I HOPE IT STARTS OR I WILL HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED. I SEE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME FOR A RECALL? SEE PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS FOR ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION/STARTER THAT SHOULD BE FIXED BY HONDA.
CAR WON'T START. AFTER BATTERY SENSOR RECALL WAS COMPLETED THE PROBLEM STARTED. BRAKE PEDAL DOES NOT GO DOWN. PRESS KEYLESS START AND ONLY DASHBOARD LIGHTS GO ON. HAVE TO GET THE CAR JUMPED EVERY 2-3 DAYS. AFRAID TO TURN THE CAR OFF. ALL RECALLS COMPLETED. DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE PROBLEM. BRAND NEW BATTERY.
HONDA USED A BAD STARTER WHEN MAKING THE 2013 ACCORD. THEY ALSO PUT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD RIGHT OVER IT. SO THE STARTER FAILS RIGHT AS THE WARRANTY EXPIRES ON YOUR CAR. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. THE CAR WILL NOT START. THE STARTER IS GARBAGE. IT SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED THIS SOON.
DROVE CAR TO WORK FROM MASSACHUSETTS TO NEW HAMPSHIRE IN THE MORNING WITH THE CAR NOT TURNING OVER RIGHT AWAY AND HAVING TO CATCH ON THE SECOND TRY. AFTER WORK WITH ONLY 33196 MILES, CAR DID NOT START YET ELECTRONICS CAME ON HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO ACROSS STATES TO HOME DEALERSHIP AND FIND OUT ITS THE STARTER THAT WAS WRONG. AFTER LOOKING IT UP, THIS APPEARED TO BE A PROBLEM WHICH I BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIPS ATTENTION BUT ALL THEY PROVIDE WAS 2 GOODWILL DISCOUNTS THAT WAS UNDER 100 DOLLARS TO STILL CHARGE 719 FOR THE REPLACING OF STARTER FOR A CAR THAT IS 5 YEARS OLD AND ONLY 33,196 MILE ON IT.
2013 ACCORD. ORIGINAL BATTERY DIED SEPTEMBER 2016 - REPLACED BATTERY AGAIN JULY 2018. BEGINNING IN MAY 2018 TURN THE KEY AND LIGHTS COME ON BUT ENGINE DOESN'T CRANK. IT TAKES 2 OR 3 TRIES THEN CRANKS AND STARTS LIKE NORMAL. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA BRAND. THEY WERE KNOW FOR RELIABILITY - NO LONGER! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HONDA TO ANYONE I KNOW LOOKING FOR A CAR.
STARTER PROBLEM ALL MY LIGHTS , RADIO AC WINDOWS WORK BUT WON'T CRANK UP. CALLED LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD SOUNDS LIKE A STARTER PROBLEM AND WILL HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER. WITH ONLY 56K ON IT I HAVE NEVER HAD A STARTER FAIL IN SUCH A SHORT TIME. IT MUST BE TRUE JAPANESE CARS NOT AS RELIABLE AS ONCE THOUGHT TO BE.
THE SEAT MEMORY SENSORS DO NOT WORK WITH KEY FOB CLOSE TO THE DOOR OR WHEN IN CAR. MUST BE SET MANUALLY EACH TIME. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.
STRAIGHT CITY STREET AT 50MPH. NOT, REPEAT NOT TURNING. CAR SUDDENLY VEERED TO RIGHT. TOOK A LOT OF FORCE TO KEEP IT GOING STRAIGHT. WHEN STOPPED AT SIDE OF ROAD STEERING WHEEL COCKED RIGHT ABOUT 45 DEGREES. NOT JUST LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS WAS LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. CAR SUDDENLY AND ACTIVELY VEERED HARD RIGHT. NO WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH NOTICED. AFTER RESTART DROVE TO DEALER WITHOUT PROBLEMS. DID IT AGAIN WITH MECHANIC DRIVING. HIS EYES GOT VERY BIG. RELUCTANTLY DROVE BACK TO DEALER. REPAIR IS REPLACE STEERING ASSEMBLY, $2,900. CAR HAD 36,000 MILES ON IT AT TIME OF FAILURE.

SO JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, MY CAR WON'T START EVERY TIME I HIT THE STARTER BUTTON. AFTER I PRESS IT IT MAKES A REALLY LOUD WHINING SOUND, I AM CURRENTLY ON MY 3RD REPLACEMENT STARTER, AND 2ND ALTERNATOR. I THINK IT'S CRAZY, AFTER ALL THESE COMPLAINS EVERYWHERE THAT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I GAVE HONDA THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, BECAUSE OF THEIR HISTORY OF RELIABILITY, BUT THIS IS TOO MUCH. I NEED A NEW STARTER TOO ACTUALLY SO STARTER #4 HERE I COME. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.
MY CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS START. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON THE LIGHTS COME ON AND THE CAR CHIMES, BUT IT DOESN'T ALWAYS START. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD STARTER. I HAD THE STARTER REPLACED AND IT APPEARED TO BE WORKING FINE. NOW, AFTER A MONTH I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVE ALSO HAD A DEAD BATTERY TWICE SINCE BUYING IT. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS ABOUT 77K MILES ON IT.
WHEN I START MY VEHICLE, THE ENGINE TURNS ON, BUT ONLY STAYS ON FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE LOOSING POWER. THE BATTERY SEEMS TO BE WORKING PERFECTLY FINE AS THE LIGHTS AND INDICATORS ARE PROPERLY LIT. THE STARTER ALSO CRANKS PROPERLY. THE ENGINE HOWEVER TURNS ON BUT DOESN'T STAY O. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES AND I HAVE CHANGED MY CAR BATTERY 3 TIMES NOW AS THE DEALERSHIP ISN'T UNABLE TO IDENTIFY WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND MY BATTERY KEEPS GETTING DRAINED. THE CAR IS PARTICULARLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THIS ISSUE IN THE MORNINGS IN COLDER TEMPERATURES (50 DEGREES OR SO AS I LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) AFTER NOT BEING USED OVERNIGHT

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
I PUSH THE BUTTON BUT THE CAR DOES NOT START. ALL LIGHTS TURN ON, BATTERY WORKS GREAT. THE STARTER WON'T ENGAGE AND ENGINE WON'T CRANK. CAR WAS IN PARKING MODE AND STATIONARY.
MY DAUGHTER AND I PURCHASED A 2013 HONDA ACCORD AT TAMERON HONDA, DAPHNE, AL ON FEBRUARY 16, 2018. WE DROVE IT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS AND THEN THE POWER STEERING STARTED GETTING HARD TO STEER. SO WE FOLLOWED THE OWNERS MANUAL BY LETTING THE CAR'S EPS TO COOL DOWN. WE THEN WERE ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR AWHILE, THEN ON MARCH 22, 2018 MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND THE POWER STEERING EPS WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE STEERING WAS VERY HARD MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE SAFELY. I CALL THE TAMRON SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THE WOULD FIX IT BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.
TROUBLE STARTING CAR. CHANGING BATTERY DID NOT HELP.
I PURCHASED THIS HONDA USED IN AUGUST 2016. THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY WHEN 2 MONTHS LATER THE STARTER BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION. IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL TRIES OF PUSHING THE BUTTON FOR THE CAR TO ACTUALLY START. OCTOBER 2016, THE BATTERY AND STARTER WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. FEBRUARY 2018 I HAD THE BATTERY CONNECTION RECALL FIX PERFORMED, AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEGAN HAVING STARTER ISSUES AGAIN, NOT EVEN 18 MONTHS AFTER HAVING IT REPLACED. THIS CAR HAS 55K MILES ON IT AT THIS POINT AND WILL BE ON ITS 3RD STARTER. I AM REFUSING TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AND GETTING AWAY FROM THIS BRAND.

THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE BATTERY WAS OLD AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE RECENT FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

THE DEALER (ROUSH HONDA, 100 W SCHROCK RD, WESTERVILLE, OH 43081) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,826.
I HAVE 2013 ACCORD LX 55K MILES, AND HAD INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM FROM LAST FEW MONTHS, DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S COLD OR HOT, SOMETIMES IT JUST DOESN'T START. I LEAVE IT ALONT FOR ABOUT A MIN OR TWO WITH KEY OUT AND THEN IT'LL START, SOMETIMES LONGER. BATTERY IS NOT THE PROBLEM AND I'VE ALREADY TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE BATTERY AND THE STARTING SYSTEM. CHECKED OUT OK, THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE. ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? NOW IT WON'T START AT ALL. I FOUND THE RECALL IS FOR V6 MODELS ONLY. WHAT SHOULD I DO AT THIS POINT?
THE FUEL TANK NECK MAY BE OUT OF SPECIFICATION CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO NOT PROPERLY SEAL TO THE FUEL TANK.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ELEVATE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT. THE SEAT MADE A CLICKING NOISE AND FAILED TO ELEVATE. WHENEVER THE SEAT WAS ELEVATED, IT WOULD FALL OUT OF POSITION, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR THE CONTACT TO DRIVE. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO CLOSE COMPLETELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURES AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 08428126. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
TAKATA RECALL I OWN TWO HONDA ACCORDS, A 2010 HONDA ACCORD (VIN [XXX]) AND A 2013 HONDA ACCORD VIN [XXX]). BOTH ACCORDS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE TAKATA BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS AS NEEDING AIR BAG REPLACEMENTS. I FINALLY RECEIVED THE OFFICIAL HONDA RECALL FOR THE 2010 HONDA ACCORD PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG THIS PAST FRIDAY, 2/23/18. I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED ANY RECALL TO FIX THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD AIR BAG(S). I CALLED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED BOTH CARS NEW AND WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE A RECALL "AT SOME FUTURE POINT" FOR THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD, BUT THE SERVICE ADVISOR I SPOKE TO COULD NOT BE MORE SPECIFIC THAN THAT. IN DECEMBER, 2017 THERE WERE NO AIRBAG RECALLS FOR EITHER HONDA ACCORD ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. I JUST CHECKED AGAIN FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL ON THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD AND NOTHING FOR AIRBAGS. THE RECALL FOR THE 2010 HONDA ACCORD SPECIFICALLY STATES: "HONDA SUGGESTS THAT YOU AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED." OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS PRETTY DANGEROUS STUFF. I HAVE RECEIVED NO ADVISORIES AND NO SAFETY ADVICE OR PRECAUTIONS FROM HONDA AUTOMOBILE DIVISION / AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY REGARDING FRONT PASSENGERS OR STEPS TO TAKE TO AVOID INJURY IN CASE OF AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT IN THE MEANTIME (OR UNTIL SUCH TIME AS A RECALL IS OFFICIALLY ORDERED). IF THESE TAKAKA AIRBAGS ARE A KNOWN DANGEROUS ISSUE FOR OVER TWO YEARS NOW AND THESE AIRBAGS CAN KILL OR INJURE PASSENGERS, AND MY 2010 HONDA JUST RECEIVED IT'S RECALL NOW, IN FEBRUARY, 2018 - WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE THE RECALL ON MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD? 2021?I CANNOT SELL OR TRADE MY 2013 BECAUSE OF THIS KNOWN AIRBAG PROBLEM, OTHER DEALERS WILL NOT TOUCH THIS CAR. My car has had problems turning on. The alternator and battery had been changed twice in the past 4 years. I’ve recently changed the battery and alternator and my car still has that problem of turning on my mecanic said it could be the starter now. So battery, alternator and starter problems.
STARTER FAILED, AND WE WERE STRANDED AT THE NEW MARKET POST OFFICE FOR AN HOUR. THE BATTERY IS GOOD, BUT HONDA MECHANIC SAID THE STARTER IS FAILING. WE REPLACED THE STARTER ENGINE, AND THE CAR STARTS UP GOOD EVERY TIME. IT COST $515 TO REPLACE STARTER ENGINE. HONDA REFUSED TO PAY FOR DEFECT, BECAUSE THE CAR IS PAST WARRANTY.
MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD TOURING MODEL ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CAR ONLY HAS 49,000 MILES. THE DEALER STATES IT IS NO LONGER A EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE AND WILL NOT COVER ISSUE. THE PROBLEM WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR EVALUATION. THE PROBLEM IS LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND/OR A SUDDEN INCREASE IN STEERING EFFORT AND DEALER IDENTIFIED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BOX NEEDS REPLACEMENT FOR A TOTAL OF $2100.00. FOR A "NEW" CAR THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND SHOULD BE HONDA'S FIX NOT THE COSTUMER.
I HAVE A 2013 HONDA ACCORD 2013 WITH 75,000 MILES ON IT. FOR THE PAST FEW MOTH I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER. THE CAR WILL TURN ON, BUT AFTER A FEW TRIES. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER. I DID NOT REPLACED IT BECAUSE I DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE TOO MANY CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT AND IT'S NOT FAIR FOR SOME THAT ONLY HAVE A FEW THOUSAND MILES ON THEIR CARS FOR THEM TO BE PAYING OVER $800 FOR CAR DEFECT THAT HONDA KNOWS THAT MANY OF THEIR VEHICLES SHOULD ALREADY HAVE A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (SUNSET HONDA, 12250 LOS SOSO VALLEY RD, LUIS OBISPO, CA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE ROTATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE MANUFACTURER'S TSB NUMBER: 16-002 WAS FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
