TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK OIL AND ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I WOKE UP THIS MORNING TO DRIVE TO WORK, WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE ENGINE CUT OFF, I ALMOST HIT A FIRE HYDRANT. I DROVE 0.3 MILES, I WAS AT THE RED LIGHT ,ABOUT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE CUT OFF AGAIN. THE STEERING GOT LOCKED AND I COUDLN'T POSITION THE VEHICLE. EVER SINCE THE RECALL WAS DONE ON MY VEHICLE REGARDING THE BATTERY ISSUE, I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEM, IT'S EITHER I JUMP START TODAY, OR THE CAR WONT START. I WAS TOLD THEY DIDNT TOUCH NOTHNG IN THE VEHICLE. HONDA CLAIM THE VEHICLE IS OKAY.
I NOTICED SEVERAL WEEKS AGO THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT FIRST ATTEMPT AND TODAY (01-25-18) MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD FAILED TO START COMPLETELY. I HAVE ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT AND I FEEL THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT HAPPEN SINCE THE CAR IS NOT VERY OLD. NOW I HAVE TO PAY ABOUT $900 TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BECAUSE A NEW STARTER IS NEEDED. HOPEFULLY, THE CAR WAS IN THE PARKING LOT OF MY LOCAL LIBRARY SO NO ACCIDENTS HAPPENED. THE ONLY REASON I HAVE THIS CAR IS FOR ITS RELIABILITY BUT NOW I HAVE SECOND THOUGHTS.
INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEMS. DEPRESS THE BRAKE, PUSH THE START BUTTON: A CLICK, DASHBOARD LIGHTS SOME ON, RADIO WORKS, STARTER DOES NOT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER....NOTHING. AFTER A FEW TRIES, THE CAR STARTS JUST FINE. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO START.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS DOWN BLOCKING THE VIEW AND DISTRACTING THE DRIVER. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM AS THERE ARE A NUMBER OF VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE CLAIMING TO SHOW HOW TO REPAIR IT. HONDA SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THESE VISORS WHEN THEY MALFUNCTION. NHTSA IS DERELICT IF IT DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM! THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WITHOUT WARNING OR ANY ACTION ON THE PART OF THE DRIVER.
" STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED" MY 2013 ACCORD ONLY HAS 65,000 MILES AND HAD TO HAVE THE STARTER REPLACED. I WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE KEY MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO START- I THOUGHT IT HAD TO DO WITH THE RECENT BATTERY RECALL.
IT TURNS OVER THE BATTERY LIGHT GOES ON SMELLS LIKE SMOKE
SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT APPEARED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. CONTINUED TO DRIVE VEHICLE AND POWER STEERING RETURNED AFTER 20 TO 30 MINUTES. INDICATOR LIGHT SHUT OFF 30 TO 40 MINUTES AFTER POWER STEERING RETURNED.
WHEN TRYING TO START, IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND, DOESN'T TURN OVER AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLICKER. REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT DIDN'T HELP. SOMETIMES, AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, IT MAY START, BUT NOT USUALLY. WENT ON "HONDA BLOG" AND FOUND SEVERAL SAME TYPE OF COMPLAINTS. SOME BELIEVE IT MAY BE A STARTER DEFECT.
THE CAR HAS GRADUALLY REQUIRED NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO START ANYWHERE FROM 2 TO 12 AND ON SOME OCCASIONS REQUIRED A JUMP TO START FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS STARTED TWO WEEKS AGO AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE OVER THAT TIME. DIAGNOSTIC TESTING ON 1-15-18 REVEALED NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SPECIFICALLY THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.

OUR 2013 HONDA ACCORD PUSH BUTTON ENGINE START BUTTON IS NOT WORKING RELIABLY. WE DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE BUTTON, LIGHTS COME ON BUT NO STARTER NOISE. WE RECENTLY HAD THE HONDA RECALL FOR THE BATTERY BOOT COMPLETED. WITHIN 2 MONTHS WE BEGAN HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE PUSH BUTTON ENGINE START. THE CAR BATTERY WAS REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO SO WE WERE SURE IT WASN'T THAT. NEXT STEP, REPLACED BOTH FOB BATTERIES. STILL HAVING THE SAME DIFFICULTY. IS IT A COINCIDENCE THAT HONDA DEALER HAS BEEN IN THE ENGINE/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RECENTLY OR IS THIS A BAD SIGN OF HONDA'S POOR WORKMANSHIP?
I HAVE BEEN HAVING TROUBLE WITH STARTING UP MY HONDA ACCORD. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY SO I GOT THAT REPLACED BUT AM STILL HAVING ISSUES. I PRESS THE START BUTTON AND THE POWER TURNS ON BUT DOES NOT START THE ENGINE. IT DOES THIS MULTIPLE TIMES. SOMETIMES IT WILL START THE ENGINE BUT LATELY, IT HAS TURNED MORE INTO A GAMBLE ON WHEN IT WILL ACTUALLY START THE ENGINE.
MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD 4 DOOR WAS WORKING GREAT. UNTIL I TOOK IT FOR A BATTERY CENSOR RECALL AT. HONDA OF ROCK HILL,SC IN DECEMBER 2017. MY KEYLESS SWITCH WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. BATTERY ON CAR WAS REPLACED AND BATTERY ON KEYS WERE REPLACED AS WELL. TOOK IT TO HONDA OF ROCK HILL, ON 2/2018, THEY STATED IT WAS THE STARTER.?? WENT ON YOUTUBE AND INTERNET AND THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING A LOT TO 2013 HONDA ACCORDS. BUT THERE IS NOT A RECALLED. CALLED AND OPEN A CASE WITH HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA THEY WANTED TO KNOW IF STARTER FAILED WAS CAUSED BY RECALL. CALLED DEALER AND TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DETERMINE IF FAILED OF STARTER WAS CAUSED BY CHANGING OF PART IN RECALLED.
MY ACCORD HAS 38769 MILES ON IT, HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED BE A HONDA DEALER, AND RECALLS HAVE BEEN FIXED. SINCE THE BATTERY SENSOR WAS FIXED DECEMBER, 2017 MY PUSH START WILL NOT ALWAYS START MY CAR AND THERE IS NO INDICATOR LIGHT TO SHOW ANYTHING IS WRONG. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO DIAGNOSE MY CAR. I NOTIFIED HONDA, THEY ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND REFERRED BACK TO DEALER. I HAVE GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS THAT SEVERAL 2013 AND 2014'S HAVE THIS PROBLEM JUST AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED. WOULD YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE? THESE STARTERS ARE DANGEROUS. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2013 AND WAS COMING UP A SNOW COVERED DRIVE MY CAR QUIT AND I SLID BACKWARD BECAUSE I COULD NOT RESTART CAR WITHOUT USING THE BRAKE. I COMPLAINED TO HONDA THEN, THEY OPENED A CASE, THEN NOTHING. I TOLD THEM THEN THAT I WAS SLIDING BACKWARD AND COULD HAVE GONE OVER AN EMBANKMENT.. THEY JUST CLOSED THAT CASE WHEN I CALLED ABOUT CURRENT PROBLEMS. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER HONDA.
I HAVE BEEN MONITERING MY OIL LEVEL CONSUMPTION AND FOR ABOUT 3 DIFFERENT OIL CHANGES (6200-6400 MILE INTERVALS). MY DASH SHOWS 40% OIL LIFE REMAINING BUT WHEN I CHECK THE DIPSTICK THERE IS NO OIL ON IT AT ALL. IT'S BONE DRY. TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OR LEAKS EITHER. THE CAR IS BURNING THROUGH 5 QUARTS OF OIL. WHEN ASKED HONDA THEY SAY THIS IS NORMAL. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS IN ANY OTHER CAR OR MY OF OTHER HONDA. AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DOESN'T EVEN COME ON UNTIL I APPLY THE BRAKES HARDER THAN USUAL.
I PURCHASED NEW A 2013 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYL IN AUGUST 2013 WHICH HAD THE BATTERY SENSOR REPLACED AT 26,010 MILES IN OCTOBER 2017. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, I STARTED EXPERIENCING AN INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM. WHEN I TURN THE KEY, THE DASH LIGHTS TURN ON AS NORMAL, BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER OR EVEN CRANK. WHILE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY AND IT CAN TAKE BETWEEN 2-6 TRIES BEFORE IT FINALLY STARTS AT HOME OR ANYWHERE I TRAVELED. AAA JUMPED ME ONCE TOO. DEALER SAID TO SWITCH KEYS AS IT MAY BE THE IMMOBILIZER SENSOR IN MY KEY. THEN DECEMBER 2018 AT 32,935 MILES, DEALER RECOMMENDED I REPLACE THE BATTERY WHICH I DID, BUT ISSUE CONTINUED, JULY 2019 AT 36,555 MILES, DEALER PERFORMED DIAGNOSTICS STATING THE STARTER WAS BAD BUT THERE WASN'T A RECALL AND IT'S MORE THAN 36 MONTHS SO OUT OF WARRANTY. DEALER DOES NOT APPLY THE COST OF THE DIAGNOSTICS AGAINST THE REPAIR. TOTAL COST FOR DIAGNOSTICS, STARTER AND TAX WAS $889.47. PLUS THE DEALER SOLD ME A REFURBISHED STARTER WITH A 3 YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY STATING A NEW STARTER ONLY CARRIES A 12 MONTH WARRANTY. ALMOST $1K IS A LOT OF MONEY FOR ONE REPAIR FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN FOR A CAR WITH 36K MILES. APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE SO HONDA MOTOR CO SHOULD RECALL THE STARTER AND PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT TO THOSE WHO HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED TO AVOID BEING STRANDED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND NEEDED EXCESSIVE EFFORT TO OPERATE WHILE BEING OPERATED AT 15 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. GREENWICH HONDA (289 MASON ST, GREENWICH, CT) DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I HAD A RECALL AFFECTING THE CHARGING SYSTEM OF MY CAR. I DID TAKE MY CAR IN FOR THE SECOND PART OF THE RECALL BUT UNFORTUNATELY SINCE THAT WORK WAS DONE MY CAR IS EMITTING SMOKE LIKE SMELL AS I AM DRIVING EVEN WHEN THE HEAT IS NOT ON. ALSO IT IS HEATING WITHOUT ME TURNING THE HEATER ON AS WELL. IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT I NEVER HAD THAT ISSUE BEFORE. I HAD THE WORK DONE ON 12/18/2017

STARTER FAILURE AT ONLY 45,000 MILES. VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES START IMMEDIATELY AND OTHER TIMES WILL ONLY START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPT OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL MINUTES. WHEN THE SYSTEM FAILS, THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WILL BE ON, BUT THERE IS NOT SOUND COMING FROM THE STARTER.

60,000 MILES CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT STARTED OK. AGAIN A FEW DAYS LATER TRIED TO START AND WOULD NOT. BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND WORKED OK FOR A COUPLE DAYS. GETTING WORSE AND WORSE AND NOW INSTEAD OF ONCE A WEEK IT'S 4-5 TIMES A WEEK. TOOK TO HONDA DEALERSHIP IN LEESBERG FLA AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS PUTTING "CELL PHONE" TO CLOSE TO KEY FOB THEREFORE BLOCKING SIGNAL TO IGNITION. THE NEXT DAY I REPLACED KEY FOB AND DID NOT HAVE CELL PHONE ANYWHERE CLOSE. CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER NOW KNOWING IF CAR WOULD START OR NOT AND DEALER TELLING ME UNLESS IT HAPPENED "ALL" THE TIME THEY COULD NOT FIX. GOT ON THE INTERNET AND IT SAID THAT EVERYONE IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND HONDA HAS A DEFECTIVE STARTER. I TOOK CAR TO HAVE NEW STARTER INSTALLED AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE. I FIND IT STRANGE THAT THE HONDA "DEALER" WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS AND I HAD TO RESEARCH INFO THRU THE INTERNET TO FIND THE PROBLEM AND DON'T KNOW WHY HONDA DOES NOT REPAY THE CUSTOMER AND OR HAVE A RECALL ON THE STARTER. MY PROBLEM IS NOW FIXED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW STARTER!

DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE THINKING I HAD A BLOWOUT TO FIND OUT MY SUNROOF GLASS JUST SHATTERED .NOT A CAR WAS AROUND ME WHEN THIS HAPPEN.
MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD SPORT EXPERIENCED ENGINE STARTING PROBLEM. SOMETIMES IT TOOK 3 OR 4 TIMES TO TURN THE KEY TO GET THE CAR STARTED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SUNNYVALE HONDA DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE STARTER PROBLEM. IT COSTS ME $936 TO REPLACE THE STARTER INCLUDING PARTS AND LABOR. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT MY CAR IS ONLY ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 40K MILEAGE HAVING THE STARTER ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WHAT A SHAME WITH THE HONDA BRAND!!!

VEHICLE SHAKES BACK AND FORTH WHILE REDUCING OR INCREASING SPEED AROUND 10 MPH. THIS HAPPENS OFTEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. HONDA APPEARS TO HAVE DOCUMENTED THE PROBLEM UNDER SB 13-053.
THE SMART ENTRY KEY WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD RANDOMLY GOES ON AND OFF. I HAVE REPLACED BATTERY IN KEY FOB WITH SAME RESULT. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE AT SOME POINT VEHICLE MAY NOT START. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND STATIONARY AT TIMES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR LAST SEVERAL YEARS.
HAVING TROUBLE WITH STARTER. TAKES ABOUT THREE TO FIVE TIMES BEFORE I CAN GET MY CAR STARTED.. MY CAR WAS IN PARK, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME.IT'S BEEN GOING OVER TWO MONTHS.
CAR WAS IN DRIVE OF HOME, STARTED CAR AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS STAYED ON. WOULD NOT CLEAR. DROVE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, BRAKES WERE BARLEY OPERABLE, CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND POWER STEERING ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. DEALERSHIP FIRST REPLACED THE BATTERY, CLEARING THE CODES FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE NEXT DAY THEY ARE REPLACING A BAD VSA MODULE THAT CONTROL THE ABS AND OTHER SAFETY FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR. THE ACCORD ONLY HAS 67K MILES AND THESE SENSORS ARE 1700 PLUS DOLLARS. RESEARCHING, I HAVE FOUND A GREAT DEAL OF THESE FAILING -USUALLY WHEN THE HONDA IS IN MOTION. I WAS FORTUNATE MINE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME.
WHILE ON VACATION IN THE MOUNTAINS OF TENNESSEE THE EPS INDICATOR CAME ON THE INSTRUMENT DISPLAY. THAT WAS FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING! IT CAME ON WHEN STARTING THE CAR AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A SHORT SLOW DRIVE, WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE MAJOR CONTRIBUTING FACTOR--SLOW SPEED WITH ACCELERATION. AFTER HAVING THE SOFTWARE UPDATED (WHICH DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE) I AM BEING TOLD ONLY THE RACK & PINION PORTION OF THE EPS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO BE COVERED BY HONDA AND NOT THE EPS CONTROL UNIT WHICH IS THE CODE MY CAR IS SHOWING. EXCUSE ME! THE STEERING OF A VEHICLE IS A MAJOR DEAL. HONDA SHOULD FIX THIS AND BE GLAD TO DO IT. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. I AM BEING TOLD THE REPAIR COST IS ABOUT $750. THIS HAS REALLY PUT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH FOR HONDA; THIS IS THE FOURTH ACCORD I HAVE OWNED BUT WILL PROBABLY BE THE LAST ONE. SHAME ON HONDA FOR NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR VEHICLES AND COMPONENTS. SHAME ON THE NHTSA FOR NOT FORCING THEM TO RECALL THESE CARS AND KEEP US ALL SAFER ON THE ROADWAYS WHEN THE COMPLAINTS ARE NUMEROUS FOR THE SAME ISSUE!
I MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN AND PROCEEDED DOWN THE STREET. THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK AS I STARTED DOWN THE STREET. I MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF STREET. THE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. WAITED 5 MINUTES THEN CONTINUED DRIVING, POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK AGAIN AND INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. AS I PROCEEDED TO PULL OVER AGAIN THE POWER STEERING BEGAN TO WORK. LUCKILY I WAS TRAVELING AT A SLOW SPEED WHEN THE POWERING STEERING FAILED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START UNTIL MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS WERE MADE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. AFTER OPERATING THE VEHICLE THREE TIMES, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO POHANKA HONDA OF SALISBURY (2011 N SALISBURY BLVD, SALISBURY, MD 21801 (410) 749-2301). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,546.
BOUGHT 2013 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN SPORT ON 06/13. I JUST REACHED THE 32000MILES AND MY STARTER IS SLIPPING AND CAUSING ME TO TURN THE IGNITION A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT STARTS. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THERE MAY BE A FAULT ON THE PRODUCT OR INSTALLATION OF PART.
AT TIMES THE CAR WILL NOT START WHEN THE IGNITION KEY IS TURNED. IT WILL START ON THE SECOND TURN. ON 11/17/2017 , IT DID NOT START ON THE SECOND TRY. I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK . THE DRIVER ARRIVED AND AFTER TURNING THE KEY MULTIPLE TIMES , THE CAR STARTED. HE STATED THAT IT IS THE STARTER AND TO HAVE IT CHECKED.
START BUTTON ISSUE ON 2013 HONDA ACCORD. PERIODICALLY, THE START BUTTON DOES NOT START THE CAR. IT SOUNDS LIKE STATIC. THE CAR EVENTUALLY WILL START AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. I NOTED MANY COMPLAINTS OF SUCH A SIMILAR PROBLEM ON CARGURUS.COM WEB BLOG. MY CAR ONLY HAS 42,000 MILES. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE STARTER AND IT HAS BEEN REPLACED AT A COST OF $1,018.61.
I BOUGHT 60,000 MILE MICHELIN TIRES ON JUNE 5. 2013 AND NOW JUST AT 30,000 THEY NEED TO BE CHANGED OUT.
IGNITION FAILS INTERMITTENTLY WITH GRINDING, SCRAPING NOISE.
NHTSA RECALL 17V-418. THE DEALER AT STEVEN CREEK ROAD, SAN JOSE, CA CHARGED US $80 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. CALLED THE HONDA AND STILL INSIST THAT WE NEED TO PAY. THE DEALER THREATENED NOT TO RELEASE THE CAR AFTER T HEY DID THE FINAL REPAIR. WE DON'T HAVE CHOICE BUT TO PAY. WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE BY HONDA. I FILED A COMPLAINT TO HONDA UNDER CASE # 06455487 BUT JENNIFER INSIST WE NEED TO PAY. WHAT A SHAME? WE HAVE THE CAR BACK BUT WE FEEL WE WERE CHEATED BY THIS COMPANY!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COAST HONDA (2110 NJ-35, SEA GIRT, NJ 08750, (732) 974-2211) AND RECEIVED AN INTERIM REPAIR PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOTIFY VEHICLE OWNERS WHEN THE FINAL REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE COULD RECUR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,464.
TAKATA RECALL. PLUS BATTERY GAP THAT CAN CAUSE IGNITION / FIRE HAZARD. HONDA SAID THEY WILL DO THIS RECALL AT CARSON HONDA (NOV 1, 2017), HOWEVER ONE OF WINDOW STARTED MALFUNCTIONING AFTER RECALL PERFORMED. NOT SURE IF RECALL IS PERFORMED EITHER.
MY STARTER IS BEING REPLACED FOR INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUES. MY MECHANIC VERY EXPERIENCED AND I HAVE BEEN USING FOR YEARS MADE THE DIAGNOSIS. I WAS PRESENT FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. MY CAR IS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD WITH LESS THEN 44000 MILES. I HAVE OWNED 3 HONDA'S ALL STILL IN THE FAMILY. I HAD A 2002 WITH THE ORIGINAL STARTER, WHICH MY DAUGHTER NOW OWNS AND I HAVE A 2010 WITH ALMOST 100,000 WITH THE ORIGINAL STARTER. SOMETHING IS WRONG WHEN YOU HAVE TO CHANGE A STARTER ON A 4 YR OLD CAR WITH LOW MILEAGE. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE BATTERY IN THE 2013 LAST JANUARY WITH LESS THEN 40,000 MILES ON IT. I CHANGES THE BATTERY MYSELF.
