TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE, SHE WAS ALERTED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE IN THE PARKING LOT. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTALED AFTER THE POLICE INSPECTION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *TT CONSUMER STATED SHE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR A BATTERY PART THAT COULD CAUSE FIRE. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR AN OIL CHANGE TO HONDA DEALER BUT PART WAS NOT REPLACED. CONSUMER STATES WHILE IN THE DOCTORS OFFICE, CAR STARTED A FIRE IN THE PARKING LOT. FIRE WAS EXTENSIVE BUT MANUFACTURER CLAIMS IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM.*JB
PUSH BUTTON START DOES NOT WORK SOMETIMES. GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER TIME.
THERE ARE MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THE STARTERS ON THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD - BUT HONDA STILL HAS NOT MADE A RECALL?? THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE PART TO REPLACE AND THEY ARE NOT HELPING ANYONE? I AM AFRAID I WILL GET STUCK SOMEWHERE AND MY CAR WILL NOT START - BUT IT IS ALMOST ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS TO GET IT REPAIRED!!!! I HAVE TO CRANK IT MANY TIMES BEFORE IT WILL START. THE ONE SHOP MADE ME GET A NEW BATTERY - BUT THAT DID NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. I FEEL LIKE I WILL GET STRANDED SOMEWHERE UNSAFE!
7/4/2017 WAS OUT OF TOWN IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND MY EPS LIGHT CAME ON WHEN LEAVING A FUNCTION. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY STEERING WHEEL AS NORMALLY. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND TRYING TO RESET THE CAR THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WITH THE WHEEL AND STEERING HAVE ISSUES. WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE BACK TO NORTH CAROLINA AND HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED. NOW MY CAR IS AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WHICH IS THE COMPANY I PURCHASED FROM AND THEY HAVE TO DETERMINE WHY LIGHT CAME ON MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD WHICH I SHOW REVIEWS AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT A KNOWN ISSUE.
THIS IS AN UPDATE ON WHAT I EXPERIENCE WITH MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD 7/4/2017. ON THIS DAY WHICH WAS INDEPENDENCE DAY MY EPS LOCKED UP WHILE LEAVING SOUTH CAROLINA HEADED BACK TO NORTH CAROLINE. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALERSHIP TO EXAM THE CAR TO SEE WHY THE SYSTEM LOCKED UP. AS I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE I NOTICE SEVERAL ISSUE WITH THE EPS SYSTEM IN THIS YEAR MODEL. I READ THAT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS GIVEN ON THE TORQUE SENSOR 5 YEAR. AS HONDA DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE THEY DID THE UPDATE AND REPLACED THE TORQUE SENSOR, BUT THE PART THAT WOULD ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO WORK WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THAT WAS THE CONTROL UNIT. I LOCATED ANOTHER ARTICLE AN IT ALSO HAD THAT HONDA WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL, BUT EXTENDED THIS WARRANTY TO ONLY THE FIT AND CIVIC NOT THE ACCORDS. I WILL BE WRITING A LETTER TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AS WELL. I'M NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULD ONLY EXTEND IT TO THOSE TWO CARS WHEN ACCORD ARE THE NUMBER #1 SELLER. THIS WAS MY SECOND HONDA CAR AND OVER ALL MY FAMILY HAVE PURCHASED 4 HONDA CARS. THE COST FOR THE CONTROL UNIT WAS ALMOST $600.00 WHICH I REFUSED TO PAY AND HONDA SERVICE BROUGHT THE BALANCE TO $500.00 EVEN AS IF THEY WAS DOING ME A FAVOR. THE SERVICE MEMBER AND SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE AND RIGHT NOW AS A OWNER I'M NOT A SATISFIED CLIENT. IF EPS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WHY WAS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM EXTENDED UNDER WARRANTY. YOU KNOW WHY IT WASN'T EXTENDED BECAUSE THEY WANT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR SOMETHING AT THE END OF THE DAY. I KNOW WE ALL LOOK FOR NEW IMPROVE WAYS TO MAKE TECHNOLOGY BETTER, BUT MAKING AN ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WAS NOT A BRIGHT IDEA IN MY OPTION. LUCKILY I WAS NOT DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY DOING 70 MILES AN HOUR AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL FOR ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. TODAY I THINK MY OPTION ON PURCHASING A VEHICLE WITH HONDA WILL BE LAST ON THE LIST.
At about 40k miles since I purchased my 2013 Accord Sport 6 speed MT new, there has been premature starter failure causing me to replace the starter. In addition, the 2.4 L Earth Dreams engine consumes a quart of oil every approximately 1000 miles. I have had honda's in the past and never had to do this on a fairly new car. I also changed my PCV valve thinking it may be faulty. After doing so, I have the same issue. I even complained to Honda several times and expressed my frustration. At about 50% oil life remaining, and if the engine oil is not topped off, the dip stick to check the engine oil will be bone dry. I hope NHTSA will look into the Earth Dreams engine. It is time to force a Honda recall on all Earth Dreams engine before premature engine failure starts happening and Honda blaming customers for not properly maintaining the engine when it is a faulty engine to begin with.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE FCW 03 SYSTEM FAILURE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON. THE CAR IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD AND HAS HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. ON JUNE 27, 2017 THE CAR CUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE FCW 03 CODE FLASHING ON AND OFF. I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT HONDA MADE RELIABLE AND SAFE CARS, BUT THIS IS PROVING TO BE UNTRUE. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR COMPANY ADDRESSING THE ISSUES AT HAND WITH MY CAR. THANKS
CAR WOULD NOT START CONSISTENTLY. PUSH BUTTON START NEEDED TO BE ENGAGED UP TO 10 TIMES FOR CAR TO EVENTUALLY START. PROBLEM CONTINUED TO BECOME WORSE OVER TIME. ULTIMATELY THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 3.5 YEARS AND APPROXIMATELY 49,000 MILES. PROBLEM CAN LEAVE DRIVER STRANDED AT REMOTE LOCATIONS CREATING AN UNSAFE CONDITION.
AUTO HAS 37K MILES AND BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE SINCE NEW. RECENTLY, PUSH BUTTON START HAS FAILED, REQUIRING MULTIPLE TRIES IN KINDER TO START CAR. DEALER INDICATED THAT STARTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND WAS REPLACED FOR ROUGHLY $720. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. INTERNET SEARCH REVEALS THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS.
ACCORD V6 COUPE BOUGHT NEW (AND SPOTLESS) AND NEVER IN ACCIDENT, 33,000 MILES AND 47 MONTHS OLD- CAR WAS PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT AND WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK WAS COMPLETELY FLACCID. THE DRIVER'S SEAT WAS ESSENTIALLY IN THE FULL RECLINED POSITION RESTING AGAINST THE BACKSEAT. IT COULD BE MOVED UP AND DOWN EASILY TO THE TOUCH WITH ABSOLUTELY NO LOCKING MECHANISM (IE IF IT WASN'T BEING MANUALLY HELD UP IT WOULD FALL BACK). I TOOK IT INTO THE HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT "THE SEAT FRAME HAD FAILED." I CALLED HONDA TO TELL THEM AND, GIVEN THAT IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, WILL CALL ME BACK IF THEY WILL COVER IT. AGAIN, DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME FAILED AND SEATBACK COMPLETELY FLACCID AND CAN OFFER NO BACK SUPPORT.
POWER STERING GETS REALLY TIGHT AND WAS HARD TO STEER
HONDA HAS A "LANEWATCH" CAMERA THAT A SCREEN COMES ON WHEN THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL IS DEPLOYED. OUR HONDA'S CAMERA FAILS TO COME ON LEAVING THE SCREEN IN A NORMAL MODE. THIS WOULD BE SUCH AS GAS MILEAGE ETC. DEALER AND HONDA MOTOTORS REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO "REPLICATE" AT DEALER. WE CALLED THEM TO COME TO OUR HOME WHICH IS LESS THAN 5 MINUTES AWAY. THEY ALWAYS ARE BUSY OR HAVE AN EXCUSE. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING FORWARD READY TO TURN ON A CITY STREET. WE TOOK THE VIDEO TO SHOW THE TURN SIGNAL ON AND NO "LANEWATCH". WE HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT ON OUR REAR CAMERA BLACKING OUT. DEALER REFUSES TO FIX. DRIVEACCORD.COM IS FULL OF SIMILAR CASES. SEEMS LIKE A HONDA DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.
STARTER PROBLEMS, CAR STARTS THEN DOES NOT START, STATIONARY
FOR THE LAST MONTH I HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE KEY INTO THE IGNITION 4-7 TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE. TODAY, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS AUTO PARTS IN EL PASO, TX AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE STARTER. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE THE STARTER BECAUSE IT IS WEARING OUT AND IS A RARITY BECAUSE IT IS NOT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN TO A HONDA ACCORD THAT IS ONLY 3 + YEARS OLD. I HAVE A 2011 CHEVROLET TAHOE AND ALL ENGINE PARTS ARE OPERATING NORMALLY. UNBELIEVEABLE THAT MY HONDA ACCORD IS BREAKING DOWN ON ME. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND LET ME KNOW IF THERE IS A RECALL.
I'VE OWN MY CAR FOR FOR 1 AND 1/2 YEARS AND IT'S DEAD FOR THE 4TH TIME I HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED A MONTH AFTER BUYING THE CAR AND AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS THE STARTER? IT WAS PARKED AT WORK FOR 4 HOURS THEN I MOVED PARKING SPOTS AND SHUT IT OFF TURNED BACK ON 10 MINUTES LATER TO CLOSE WINDOWS AND IT'S DEAD.
WHEN REVERSING FROM A PARKING SPACE AND WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT, THE EPS LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO TURN/WOULD NOT TURN AT ALL. I SHUT OFF THE CAR 3 TIMES AFTER WAITING A MINUTE EACH TIME. THE LIGHT STILL CAME ONE AND THE WHEEL WAS STILL STUCK. AFTER WAITING ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND RESTARTING, IT WENT AWAY. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND IT IS THERE NOW. THEY ARE STATING I MAY NEED TO USE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR COVERAGE BUT AFTER RESEARCHING, SEEMS TO BE A GLITCH IN THE TORQUE CENSOR. HOPING THEY WILL DO THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WITHOUT NEEDING TO USE MY WARRANTY.
POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE AT A RED LIGHT ON 5/21/2017. IT FIXED ITSELF AFTER 3 CAR RESTARTS (OVER THE COURSE OF ~5 HOURS). THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON 5/22/2017 FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING CONTROL UNIT. THE CAR DROVE FINE UNTIL 5/27/2017 WHEN IT AGAIN LOST POWER STEERING, THIS TIME WHILE NAVIGATING A TURN AT 50MPH ON THE FREEWAY. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR WITHOUT HITTING ANY OTHER CARS. CLEARLY, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING AND THEIR SOFTWARE UPDATE DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY..WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE PROBLEM THEY SAID SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED.. FEW MONTHS LATER LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND STEERING LIGHT COMES BACK ON WHILE DRIVING ON THE LOCAL ROAD.. IF YOU TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTART LIGHT WILL DISAPPEAR AND POWER STEERING WORKS AGAIN
CAR KEEPS LOSING ITS POWER STEERING. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED, NOR HOW LONG I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT, IT'S EVEN GONE OUT SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT BACK IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON. VERY SCARY WHEN IT GOES OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A CURVE IN THE ROAD.
MY DAUGHTER HIT TELEPHONE PULLING IN A PARKING AT 50 MPH OFF OF A CITY STREET. SHE IS A NEW DRIVER AND WAS SPOOKED BY A CAR TAILGATING HER VERY CLOSE. THE DRIVERS SIDE CURTIN AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. BUT THE DRIVERS STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS A PASSENGER IN FRONT SEAT AND HIS AIR BAG DID DEPLOY. THE SIDE CURTIN ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE DID NOT DEPLOY. BOTH PASSENGER'S WHERE WEARING SEAT BELTS AT THE TIME OF ACCIDENT. QUESTION IS WHY DID THE DRIVERS AIR BAG NOT DEPLOY?

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
UNABLE TO START VEHICLE. PUSH BUTTON, LIGHTS BLINK, CLICKING NOISE BUT CAR WILL NOT START. SOMETIMES WORKS AFTER WAITING 1 HOUR OR MORE.
PUSH BUTTON STARTING ISSUES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STARTER MISFIRED AND TENDED TO BE STARTED MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE IT RESPONDED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (HERITAGE HONDA IN BALTIMORE MARYLAND) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO PAY HALF OF THE REPLACEMENT COST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TOOK IT TODEALER AFTER 3 HRS OF DIGNOSTICS THEY COULD NOT FIND WHAT WAS WRONG, I CALLED HONDA USA THEY ASSIGNED A INDIVIDUAL TO HELP,, NE NEVER DID ANYTHING AND WOULD CALL WHEN HE KNEW I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ANSWER IM CONCERNED AS I DONT KNOW IF THE AIRBAG IS FAULTY OR THE WARNING LIGHT ABSOLUTELY NO ASSISTANCE FROM HONDA
FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS THE PUSH BUTTON START HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT. SOMETIMES IT WILL START RIGHT AWAY, SOMETIMES ALL I GET IS A CLICK, AND SOMETIMES NOTHING. OFTEN HAVE TO PUSH IT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE CAR WILL FINALLY START. THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB IS NEW, THE CAR BATTERY HAS BEEN CHECKED. I ASSUME IT'S THE STARTER FROM THE SOUND OF IT. ALL THE LIGHTS AND POWER WINDOWS WORK. I RESEARCHED THE COST AND IT'S ANYWHERE FROM 600-800 TO REPLACE STARTER, THAT'S MORE THAN THE CAR PAYMENT! THE CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD! CONSUMERS SHOULD BE PROTECTED AGAINST MANUFACTURES TRYING TO MAKE MORE MONEY OFF OF PARTS. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I SEE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS VERY ISSUE AND EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE STARTER THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS. NOW IT COULD BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE ALONG WITH THE STARTER. TODAY WAS FINAL STRAW, AFTER GETTING ICE CREAM WITH MY 2 LITTLE KIDS IN 92 DEGREE WEATHER, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL! SO I HAD TO CALL A FRIEND TO PICK ME AND THE KIDS UP, WE HAD TO WAIT IN 92 DEGREE WEATHER! NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS EVENT WITH A NEW CAR! HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL THIS STARTER DEFECT AND FIX STARTERS ISSUES IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU.
MY CARE IS CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. OIL LIGHT WARNING DOES NOT COME ON.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION: I HAVE A 2013 HONDA ACCORD WITH 74,000 MILES. I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PACKAGE AT TIME OF PURCHASE. THE ACCORD ENGINE HAS STARTED USING OIL. AT THE LAST OIL CHANGE THERE WAS ONLY 1 QUART OF OIL LEFT IN THE ENGINE. CONSUMPTION TESTING DID NOT SHOW 1 QUART/1,000 MILES SO NOTHING WAS DONE BY HONDA. BETWEEN 2,000 AND 3,000 MILES OF THE CONSUMPTION TEST OIL WAS CONSUMED AT A RATE OF 1 QUART OR MORE PER 1,000 MILES. HONDA STILL DID NOTHING. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA AND GOT NO WHERE. I HAVE PURCHASED SEVERAL HONDA'S SINCE 1987 BUT WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER BECAUSE OF THIS WILLINGNESS TO DO NOTHING. I WAS TOLD TO CHECK THE OIL LEVEL EVERY TIME I STOPPED FOR GAS.
HAD TWO OF MY CAR DOOR ACTUATORS WENT UP HAD TO PAY OVER $800 TO REPAIR THEM PEOPLE WERE GETTING LOCKED IN MY CAR WHEN TO STOPPED .NEXT DAY DOORS MAKING SOME NOISE TOOK MY CAR BACK TO DEALER THEY SAID THE OTHER TWO DOORS WERE GOING UP .TALK TO THE MECHANIC THAT DID THE WORK HE SAID HE WOULD DO THE WORK FOR A DISCOUNT IF THEY WOULD OK IT. SINCE THEY DID NOT FIND IT SAME DAY.THEY SAID NO WAY THEY WANT ANOTHER $800 TO FIX THEM . SO PEOPLE ARE STILL GETTING LOCKED IN MY CAR. I THINK THIS WOULD BE A SAFTEY ISSUE.

POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING! THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITHIN 6 MOS. FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE STEERING BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTARTING. THIS TIME 4/20/17 CAN'T GET THE EPR TO RETURN!!! THE CAR WAS IN MOTION BOTH TIMES ON LOCAL STREETS.
2013 ACCORD FAILS TO START WHEN USING EITHER PUSH BUTTON START OR DEALER INSTALLED REMOTE START. ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER, ONLY A GRINDING SOUND IS PRODUCED. IT CAN TAKE AS MANY AS 5 OR 6 ATTEMPTS TO START BEFORE THE STARTER WILL ACTUALLY ENGAGE AND START THE ENGINE. STARTER REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH HONDA TSB 16-002, BUT THE ISSUE CONTINUES. ISSUE FIRST OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 40K MILES AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR LAST 18 -24 MONTHS AND IS GETTING WORSE. THIS OCCURS IN BOTH WARM AND COLD WEATHER, AND WITH EITHER A HOT OR COLD ENGINE. CAR NOW ONLY HAS 64K MILES.
I OWN A 2013 HONDA ACCORD LX AND IT HAS STARTED HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUES STARTING. THE BATTERY IS TWO MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN CHECK AND IT'S FINE. STARTER HAS BEEN CHECKED AND ITS FINE. CAR WILL START SOMETIMES ON FIRST TRY, BUT OTHER TIMES TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. TURNING STEERING SOMETIMES HELPS, TURNING OFF ALL LIGHTS SOMETIMES HELPS AND PRESSING GAS PEDAL SOMETIMES HELPS, BUT ISSUE IS NOT CONSISTENT. SEE OTHERS ARE HAVING SAME TYPE OF ISSUES ON SEVERAL FORUMS.

THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED, BUT THERE WAS PROPERTY DAMAGE INVOLVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 06150747. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. UPDATED 11/06/17*LJ *JS
FOR THE LAST YEAR, THE CAR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO START AFTER PARKING IT FOR A FEW MINUTES. USUALLY AFTER A FEW KEY TURNS IT WILL START. A MONTH AGO IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL SO WE TOWED IT. THE DEALERSHIP DECIDED IT WAS THE STARTER. AFTER 37,000 MILES? IT'S A HONDA! IT WORKED FINE FOR 5 WEEKS AND THEN IT DIED AGAIN AFTER BEING DRIVEN JUST A FEW MILES. THIS TIME THE DASH LIGHTS FLASHED AND CLICKED FOR A FEW MINUTES BUT WOULD NOT START. AFTER TOWING IT, THE DEALERSHIP HOOKED IT UP TO A JUMPSTART AND IT STARTED! THREE LIGHTS CONTINUED TO FLASH SO THE DEALERSHIP HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER. I CALLED THEM A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWERS. I HATE LETTING MY WIFE DRIVE AN UNRELIABLE VEHICLE.
HEARD GROWLING SOUND FROM ENGINE WHEN COMING TO A STOP, OCCASIONALLY DURING ACCELERATION AT LOW SPEEDS AND DURING COLD START. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND ISSUE WAS FOUND TO BE DUE TO LOW ENGINE OIL (3 QUARTS LOW) . HAD THE OIL CHANGED ABOUT 6000 MILES BEFORE THIS ISSUE OCCURRED.
MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD EX STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH INTERMITTENT STARTING AROUND 45,000 MILES. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE STARTER PROBLEM, BUT CHARGED ME OVER $800 TO REPAIR IT WITH A NEW STARTER BUTTON. I WAS TOLD WITHOUT REPAIR THIS PROBLEM WOULD GET WORSE TILL THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL.
TO BEGIN WITH I'VE HAD TO CHANGE MY BATTERY ATLEAST 4 TIMES(ONE TIME IT EXPLODED WITH BATTERY ACID)IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. ALSO 6 DIFFERENT LIGHTS IN THE PANEL ARE ON(BRAKE/ABS/TIRE PRESSURE/A STEERING WHEEL WITH AN !/MAINTENANCE/POWER STEERING. I RECENTLY PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES FROM FIRESTONE AND GOT THE CAR ALIGNED THE MECHANIC SAID HE TRIED TO RESET THE NOTIFICATION ON THE DASHBOARD BUT IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I ALSO HAD A FAMILY MECHANIC PUT IT UNDER THE COMPUTER WHICH DIAGNOSED AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. ANOTHER ISSUE THE CAR IS HAVING IS IT SHORT CIRCUITS MY HEAD LIGHTS WHEN IT RAIN, WHICH MEANS I'M REPLACING THEM ALMOST MONTHLY. THE CAR TENDS TO SHAKE WHEN ITS STOPPED BUT ONLY IF THE AC IS ON. SO IN CONCLUSION AFTER READING THIS RECALL IN CREDIT KARMA I AM SURE MY CAR NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED; HOWEVER, IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

MY TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS VERY LOW SO I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. PRIOR TO THIS MY BROTHER DROVE MY CAR AND SAID IT WAS NOT GOING INTO GEARS SMOOTHLY. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID LOW TRANSMISSION FLUID CAN MAKE THE CAR RUN NOT TOO SMOOTH. HE DID MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A NOTICE FOR A FOUL SPARK PLUG AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS AND IF THE PROBLEM DOESN'T FIX ITSELF THEN TO BRING IT BACK IN SO THEY CAN LOOK FURTHER INTO THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS IF I HAVE A RECALL AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS THAT COULD BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY SPARK PLUG SHOULDN'T THEY AUTOMATICALLY BRING MY CAR IN AND REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS? MY DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND REAR DOORS DID NOT OPEN DURING THE WINTER SEASON. I SUSPECT THEY WERE FROZEN FROM THE COLD WEATHER. BUT THEN AGAIN IT ONLY OCCURRED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. SOMEWHAT OF AN SAFETY ISSUE I WOULD THINK.
I CURRENTLY HAVE THE FRONT COLLISION WARNING AND LANE DEPARTURE FAILURE READOUT DISPLAY ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING YELLOW SERVICE LIGHTS; FCW, LDW , ESP, ABS, ELECTRONIC STEERING AND TPS LIGHTS ACTIVATED. THE FRONT COLLISION WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE SAFETY FEATURE, ANTI-BRAKING SYSTEM AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY ARE NOT WORKING AT THIS TIME AS I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING WHILE IT WAS SNOWING (VEHICLE OBVIOUSLY IN MOTION). I"M CURRENTLY WAITING FOR RESOLUTION FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND AMERICAN HONDA CORPORATION.
INTERMITTENTLY, MAYBE 30-50 TIMES IN TOTAL IN THE 112K MILES I'VE DRIVEN THE CAR, WHEN YOU DEPRESS THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE START BUTTON, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS COME ON, BUT THE STARTER DOES NOT TURN. THERE A NOISE OF AN ELECTRICAL SWITCH TURNING IN THE DASH, BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS THE STARTER SOLENOID. I REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP. I'VE READ OF A BRAKE SWITCH NOT TELLING THE STARTER IT WAS OKAY TO START, BUT HAVEN'T CHECKED THAT. I'VE READ HONDA REPLACING THE STARTER, BUT I HAVEN'T DONE THAT. SOME POSTS SAY REPLACE THE START SWITCH.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS/SUNROOF: CAR PARKED IN OKC PARKING LOT FOR 11+ HOURS AND WHEN WENT TO LEAVE, ALL FOUR WINDOWS WERE DOWN AND SUNROOF WAS OPEN. CAR REMAINED LOCKED. THIS IS SECURITY ISSUE SINCE ANYONE CAN ACCESS VEHICLE AND EVEN OPEN TRUNK (NOTHING WOULD BE SAFE).
STEERING GETS PULLED TO ONE SIDE. THOUGHT MIGHT BE THE ALIGNMENT BUT THAT DID NOT FIX ANYTHING
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 40MPH IN A STRAIGHT LINE I SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. I HAD THE EPS LIGHT SHOW ON MY DASH. I PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE CAR 2 OR 3 TIMES BEFORE THE POWER STEERING CAME BACK TO NORMAL. THE STEERING WAS INCREDIBLY HARD TO TURN. A FEW HOURS LATER I BROUGHT THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALER AND THEY WERE ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT AN ERROR CODE WAS LOGGED DURING INCIDENT: DTC 71-01 MOTOR ANGLE SENSOR (SIN/COS SIGNALS) UNFORTUNATELY, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE ABOVE EPS FAILURE. THEY CONCLUDED THAT THE ISSUE IS "INTERMITTENT" AND THAT I SHOULD CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND SEE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR NOW AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE.
