ON CERTAIN COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS (CNG) VEHICLES, IN THE EVENT OF A SEVERE INTERIOR FIRE IN THE AREA OF THE REAR SEAT, THE CNG TANK MAY BE HEATED UNEVENLY, PREVENTING THE PRESSURE RELIEF DEVICE FROM VENTING THE CONTENTS OF THE TANK AS DESIGNED.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 1998 Acura 2.2CL, 1998-1999 Acura 2.3CL, 1998-1999 Acura 3.0CL, 2001 Acura 3.2CL and Acura MDX, 1998-2000 Honda Accord Coupe, Accord Sedan, Civic Sedan, Odyssey and Acura 3.5RL, 1999-2000 Acura 3.2TL, 1996-2000 Civic Coupe, 1997-2000 CR-V, 1997-1998 EV Plus, and 1998-1999 Isuzu Oasis vehicles. These vehicles were equipped with Non-Azide Driver air bag Inflators (NADI) and do not contain phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. Due to a manufacturing issue, the NADI inflators may absorb moisture, causing the inflators to rupture or the air bag cushion to underinflate.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver frontal air bag inflator, and replace it if necessary, with an inflator of a different design, free of charge. The recall began October 1, 2020. Owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138 or Isuzu customer service at 1-800-255-6727.
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2001-2002 Acura 3.2CL, 2000-2003 Acura 3.5RL, 2000-2001 Acura 3.2TL, Honda CR-V and Honda Odyssey, 2001-2002 Acura MDX and 2000 Accord Coupe, Accord Sedan, Civic Coupe, and Civic Sedan vehicles. These vehicles may have received a replacement driver frontal air bag module as part of a vehicle repair. Due to a manufacturing issue, the replacement NADI inflator may absorb moisture, causing the inflator to rupture or the air bag cushion to underinflate.
Remedy Status
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bags in the vehicles, replacing the driver frontal air bag inflator with an inflator of a different design, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began October 1, 2020. Owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2000 Honda Civic. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 193,786. It was later discovered through a Carfax Report that the Title mileage was 211,529.
The contact owns a 2000 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after multiple attempts. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN for the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 169,000.
The contact owns a 1990 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 95V103001 (SEAT BELTS). The contact stated the driver’s and front passenger’s side seat belts failed to function as intended. The driver’s side lap belt failed to retract, and the receiver buckle failed to function as designed. The vehicle was driven without the seat belt. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side seat belt also failed to operate as needed. The seat belt failed to retract, and the receiver buckle failed to properly operate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The contact was informed that the parts for the recall repair were discontinued. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
I bought this car I believe 1 year ago and I didn’t know it had a recall
The contact owned a 2000 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, another vehicle ran a stop sign. The contact turned to the right to avoid a crash but ended up crashing into the rear corner of another vehicle. The vehicle also ended up striking the embankment on the side of the road. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the lower back and sought medical attention. The other vehicle was damaged. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the Insurance provider for assistance. A case was opened regarding the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Unknown SRS alarm appears, dealer confirmed 1-1, 1-2 error code meaning driver airbag issue. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 20V026000 RECALL DATE: 2020-01-21 Mentioned active airbag recall for 2000 Honda Civic. Tried looking on NHTSA site and Honda site for free repair but nothing showed up. I am concerned that the driver airbag is not safe.
On October 16, 2021, my wife drove the car on the way home, then there was a sudden sound (like a huge fan) and a rough vibration from the engine. The battery light turned on. Then she had a hard time steering the wheel. It was really stiff. She made very wide turns, occupying multiple spaces and lanes. She can't totally control the car. When we arrived home, we popped the hood and found out that all the 3 belts in the engine were off. We just called our insurance today Oct 17 to have it towed to our mechanic. This car passed state inspection last Aug 2022 and we were able to take off 1 belt which seems to be in good condition. We also had 1 belt replaced last 2020.

HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, AND WAS VEERING OFF TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT TRIED TO CORRECT HERSELF, THE WHEEL TURNED TO THE LEFT AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AND WAS WRAPPING AROUND THE POLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURE RISK, A BRUISE CHEST, A HEAD CONCOCTION SPLIT OPEN THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, MY CAR WAS RECALLED. BECAUSE OF THE CAR'S HISTORY, THE AIR BAG INFLATOR IS MORE LIKELY THAN AVERAGE TO KILL ME IF IT ACTIVATES (EXPLODES). THE DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA (THERE ARE SEVERAL) CANNOT OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS...NEEDED TO FIX THE PROBLEM...FOR 18 TO 24 MONTHS. THIS DELAY IS DUE TO MANUFACTURING ISSUES AND THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. MY CAR IS NOT DESIGNED TO ALLOW THE INSTALLATION OF AN ON/OFF SWITCH FOR THE AIR BAGS. THEREFORE, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE EXPLODER DISABLED UNTIL REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. NONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA WILL DO THIS, WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM THE NHTSA. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FINS A WAY TO ASK THE NHTSA TO SEND ME A WRITTEN DEACTIVATION AUTHORIZATION. ALSO...THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NEED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THIS (DISABLING THE BOMB IN MY STEERING WHEEL) CAN BE DONE WITHOUT AFFECTING THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE CAR. I WOULD NEED APPROVED DIRECTIONS FROM THE NHTSA TO GIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP'S MECHANICS. ALTERNATELY, I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR ON A DAILY BASIS, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ACTIVE, DEADLY, EXPLOSIVE DEVICE...FOR THE NEXT 18 TO 24 MONTHS. *TR
I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM HONDA FOR NHTSA RECALL 20V-027 ON MARCH 18, 2020 THAT STATES THAT HONDA IS UNABLE TO INSPECT/REPAIR THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. I EMAILED THEM AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD PROVIDE ME WITH A FREE (SAFE) LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL THEY COULD FIX MY UNSAFE VEHICLE. THEY CALLED ME ON THE PHONE TODAY, MARCH 24, 2020 (1-888-234-2138) AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE, AND THAT THEY WERE SORRY, BUT THE REPAIR OF MY VEHICLE MIGHT TAKE ANOTHER YEAR FROM TODAY. I DON'T FIND THIS ACCEPTABLE, THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT MIGHT INJURE OR KILL ME.....FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
HONDA SENT ME A LETTER IN THE MAIL TELLING ME MY CAR'S DRIVER AIRBAG MAY NOT BE WORKING CORRECTLY. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE PARTS TO REPAIR IT YET AND THAT THEY WOULD REACH OUT WHEN THEY HAD THEM. THAT WAS IN MARCH AND NOW IT'S AUGUST. IT'S ALMOST A HALF YEAR NOW THAT I'VE BEEN DRIVING A CAR THAT MIGHT NOT EVEN HAVE A WORKING AIR BAG IN IT. I'VE CALLED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES ASKING ABOUT IT AND THEY JUST SAY THEY DON'T HAVE THEM AND THEY CAN'T EVEN GIVE ME A TIME FRAME FOR WHEN THEY MIGHT. THIS IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A RECALL ON THE DRIVER AIRBAG. THEY WON'T EVEN GIVE ME ANY OPTIONS TO STAY SAFE OTHER THAN DON'T DRIVE THE CAR.

AMERICAN HONDA HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THE SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME. I RECEIVED FIRST NOTIFICATION IN MARCH 2020.
ACCORDING TO NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 20V-027, MY VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG THAT, IF DEPLOYED IN AN ACCIDENT, COULD SERIOUSLY INJURE OR KILL ME. HONDA STATES THAT FREE RECALL INSPECTIONS AND FREE REPAIRS WILL NOT BEGIN FOR ONE YEAR, AS ALTERNATIVE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO UNTIL THEN? I TRAVEL AROUND 200 MILES WEEKLY FOR WORK, AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR. I FEEL LIKE I'M RISKING MY LIFE EVERY TIME I STEP IN MY CAR NOW. WOULD I BE BETTER OFF JUST REMOVING THE AIRBAG MYSELF?
