THE CONTACT PUSHED THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE IT CURRENTLY WAS PARKED. THE CONTACT CALLED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT A NEW ENGINE BE INSTALLED. THE CONTACT LATER CONTACTED WORLD CAR HYUNDAI NORTH, 12908 INTERSTATE 35 NORTH BLDG 2, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78233, AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY FOR A 120,000 MILES AND PROVIDED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,537.

THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK PAINS AND SEEKED MEDICAL ATTENTION AT A NEAR HOSPITAL AND WAS SEEING A CHIROPRACTOR AT THE MOMENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED ANOTHER DAUGHTER WAS SEATED AT THE REAR MIDDLE AND SUSTAIN CONCUSSION AND WAS SEEKING MEDICAL ATTENTION ALSO. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE INSURANCE DEEMED THE VEHICLE LOSS. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED SHE HAD EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE ON 5 DIFFERENT OCCASION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER COCOA HYUNDAI ( 1825 W KING ST, COCOA, FL 32926: (321) 631-2444) AND WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. SUSPENSION MAKING LOUD THUMP NOISE WHILE DRIVING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AFTER ENGINE BEEN REPLACED AND SEATBELT LIGHT IS ON...AND PAINT AND CLEAR COAT IS PEALING
THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON AND THE STEERING HAS SLOWLY GOTTEN REALLY LOOSE AND MAKING CLICKING SOUNDS. IT NOW ALMOST HITCHES WHEN YOU TURN IT AND OUR MECHANIC SAID IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL DO NOT WORK EITHER. WE HAD OUR PERSONAL MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE FOUND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY INFO FROM OLD RECALLS. HE ALSO CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY INFO ON BOTH THE STEERING AND THE AIRBAG. WE THEN TOOK IT FROM OUR PERSONAL MECHANIC TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO THE INCORRECT CODE DURING DIAGNOSTICS. THE CHARGE IS GOING TO BE $1950.00 TO FIX IT AS IT NEEDS A WHOLE NEW STEERING COLUMN AND COUPLER AND SOMETHING ELSE. WE HAVE HAD SO MANY RECALLS FIXED ON THIS CAR THAT IT'S GETTING RIDICULOUS. I LOVE HOW THEY "RECALL" AND PAY FOR THE LITTLE THINGS, BUT NOT THIS BIG THINGS THAT IS SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS. WE HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT THE ENGINE COULD SEIZE SO JUST WAITING FOR THAT TO HAPPEN .... NOT A VERY HAPPY HYUNDAI CUSTOMER AT THE MOMENT. WE WILL NOT PAY THE $1950.00 AND I WILL FOR SURE KEEP FIGHTING THIS BATTLE. HYUNDAI SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS AND IT'S OBVIOUS SOMETHING IS WRONG AS SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE DOCUMENTED THE SAME PROBLEMS. THEY NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT AND FIX IT BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 164,295.
ENGINE FAILED / BLEW WHILE DRIVING.
I was driving my 2011 Hyundai Sonota and it felt like a truck had slammed into the back of my vehicle but it didn’t, the car was knocking and finally stopped and wouldn’t accelerate when pushing the pedal. I had to have it towed and the shop didn’t know what to do and I had it sent to Rick Case Hyundai and I explained the situation about the debris being washed out of the engine and they asked for $1700 just to look at the engine. I had a few recalls and they should have looked at the engine with no problems and no charges. They had my vehicle towed and it took me a few months to figure out what happened to my car? I have been denied EVERYTHING BY HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND TAMMY OFFERED TO LOOK AT THE ENGINE AFTER SENDING THE INFORMATION TO BBB AND SHE SAID SHE WOULD DO IT FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE THERE IS A RECALL ON THE END
I AM CONSISTENTLY HAVING TO REPLACE MY TAIL AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE EVERY 2-6 MONTHS. I JUST REPLACED THE BULBS IN JULY AND NOW IN SEPTEMBER, THEY'RE BAD AGAIN. BUT NOW EVEN WITH NEW BULBS IN, THE TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK BUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO. I AM ALSO HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT NOT TURNING OFF WHILE SET ON THE "DOOR" SETTING WITH ALL DOORS CLOSED. FOR THIS, I HAVE CHECKED THE DOOR JAMB SWITCH AND THE INSIDE OF THE DOME LIGHT SWITCH AND THERE ARE NO OBVIOUS CAUSES FOR THIS ISSUE. I'M NOT SURE IF THESE LIGHT PROBLEMS ARE CONNECTED OR NOT, BUT THE DOME LIGHT WORKED PERFECTLY FINE UNTIL I REPLACED MY TAIL/BRAKE LIGHT BULBS YESTERDAY AND DISCOVERED THAT THEY AREN'T WORKING AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING
THIS IS MY DAUGHTER'S CAR. ON THE EVENING OF 9/6/2020, THEY WERE DRIVING HOME WHEN THE CAR JUST STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THIS WAS ON A CITY STREET A COUPLE OF BLOCKS FROM THEIR HOME. THEY PUSHED IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WITHIN 5 MINUTES, THE CAR WAS ABLAZE AND POLICE AND FIRE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. WE CONTACTED HYUNDAI THE NEXT DAY AND THEY HAVE OPENED A CASE NUMBER 17293089 AND WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR FROM THERM.
MY CAR JUST DIED ON ME I BELIEVE IT THE MOTOR JUST DIED ON ME I MAY HAVW 140,000 MILES NO INDICATION. THE CAR STOP ON ME WHILE I WAS ON FREEWAY I HAD TO CRUISE TO THE NEXT EXIT AND PARK IN 09 A MOTEL PARKING LOT
THE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON IN MY VEHICLE AND WILL NOT SHUT OFF. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SEE ABOUT THE SERVICE LIGHT INDICATOR, BUT THEY WILL NOT SERVICE THIS INDICATOR LIGHT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY WITH THIS LIGHT ON!
CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SHIFT CABLE AND SHIFT LEVER,IT SAYS THERE IS A RECALL ON IT, BUT WHEN I CALL THE DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOT ONE WITH MY VIN NUMBER. WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE OR DRIVE IT WILL NOT DISPLAY ON MY DASH IF IT IS IN REVERSE DRIVE OR PARK AND MY CAR HAS TROUBLE MOVING WHEN IT DOES THAT.

IT HAS REMAINED ON EVER SINCE THAT DATE AND TIME. I DON'T FEEL SAFE. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS MY AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I FEEL IT IS A DEFAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER HYUNDAI. THIS LIGHT CAME ON FOR NO REASON. THIS OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET.
STEERING MAKES A LOUD "CLUNK" WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT. IT IS NOTICEABLE WHEN STATIONARY, BUT QUITE LOUD WHEN MOVING. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR.
TORQUE CONVERTER WENT OUT ALL OF A SUDDEN. COST ME $3150 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. THEN THE GEAR SHIFTER MOVED BACK AND FORTH BUT WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR.
All the electrical on the drivers side conti ues to fail. The blinker on the driver side only works if the headlights are on and the brake/blinker lights constantly go out even though the bulbs are fine.
LIGHTS OCCASIONALLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. HAPPENS ON ITS OWN BUT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN WHEN SWITCHING ON HIGH BEAMS. ALL LIGHTS SHUT OFF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE CAR. HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE OWNING THE CAR
THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE GEAR SHIFT. AS I USE THE GEAR SHIFT, WHILE BRAKING AND RELEASING, A KNOCKING NOISE IS HEARD UNDER THE GEAR SHIFT. IT IS CAUSED BY THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PRESSED. IT KNOCKS WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE AND BACK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO EDWARDS HYUNDAI (1029 32ND AVE, COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA 51501) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V759000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 131,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AIR BAG DASHBOARD LIGHT CAME ON. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL #174 FOR 2011 HYUNDAI, NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 18V137000, BUT I DON'T SEE MY CAR'S VIN AS PART OF THE CAMPAIGN.

MY CAR STALL WHILJNG DRIVING THEN STOP IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLES. I HAD TO PUSH IT OVER ON NEUTRAL. MY VEHICLES HAD KNOCKING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO GET IT BACK UP RUNNING . LET IT SIT FOR A WHILE AND IT START BACK UP ON ITS OWN. I TOOK IT TO HYNDUAI 8/8 THE SERVICE WORKER JIM SAID HE CAN'T DIAGNOSTIC CAUSE THE LIGHT IS GONE. I TOLD HIM THAT I CANT RISK DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WHEN I KNOW IT HAD A KNOCK SENSOR RECALL LAST YEAR CAMPAIGN 953 AND ITS DOING IT AGAIN. HE TOLD ME THEIR IS NOTH I NG HE CAN DO AND ADVICE ME TO DRIVE IT BACK HOME UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND THEN GET TOW. J SCOLD HIM AND SAID AND RISK MY KIDS LIFE AND OTHERS. IT STALLS IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. THE ENGINE COMPLETELY GOES OUT FOR ALMOST 40 MINUTE. THIS THE 6TH TIME IT HAPPEN BETWEEN OCT 2019 TO AUG 2020.

THE FRONT BUMPER AND GRILL HAVE PARTIALLY DETACHED FROM BROKEN OR FAULTY CLIPS, WHEELS ORIGINAL SIZE RUB AGAINST WHEEL WELL COVERING AND CONSTANT SENSOR FAILURE FOR TIRE API. ACTUAL SPEED IS LOWER THEN THE SPEED INDICATED ON THE VEHICLE WHERE AS 55 MPH ACTUAL SPEED SHOWS 59 ON THE GAGE. CRUIS CONTROL WILL NOT WORK AND TRACTION CONTROL WILL NOT TURN OFF, AFTER REPLACEMENT OF ALL TIRES AND SENSORS. EXTERIOR- HEAD LIGHTS NEED REPLACED EVERY 2 TO 3 MONTHS DUE TO FAILURE, BREAK LIGHTS REPLACED 6X IN 4 MONTHS AND WIRING HARNESS TO BREAKLIGHTS HAS PARTIALLY MELTED THE CASING AND ENTRY SPOT FOR BULB. REPLACEMENT BULB DIDN'T REMEDY THE PROBLEM, AS BREAK LIGHTS NOW DO NOT WORK AT ALL ON VEHICLE, ONLY TAIL LIGHTS. FOG LIGHT HAVE ALSO BEEN REPLACED 1X IM 1 YEAR AND 1 IS OUT. REAR PLATE LIGHT ALSO NOT WIRING. FUSES ARE GOOD. POSSIBLE WIRING ISSUE. FAULTY BODY ISSUE AND POSSIBLE COMPUTER AND OR SENSOR ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SUGGESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 142,000.
STEERING WHEEL MAKES NOISE AND HAS PLAY IN IT. WHILE JACKED UP, THE WHEEL MAKES THE SUSPENSION SHAKE. NOISE IS WHILE HITTING POTHOLES, MAKING TURNS AND WHILE SITTING STILL TURNING THE WHEELS. I BOUGHT CAR USED. HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND TIRES JUST ROTATED WITHIN PAST MONTH.

THIS CAR HAS 132000 MILES ON IT . I TOOK CARE OF CAR ROTATE THE TIRES DID PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE.THE VEHICLE HAS VERY BUMPY RIDE WHEN TURNED MAKES NOISE.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, NOTICED AN ODD SMELL, LIKE BURNING/MELTING PLASTIC. I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF SOMEONE WAS BURNING ANYTHING, BUT THERE WASN'T. THE SMELL SEEMED TO GO AWAY, BUT A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD I STARTED TO SMELL IT AGAIN AND NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I LOOKED FOR A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER BUT FLAMES STARTED COMING OUT FROM THE HOOD, SO I PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT, RAN AWAY FROM THE CAR. WITHIN LESS THAT 2 TO 3 MINUETS IT WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, POLICE AND STATE TROOPERS SHOWED UP, PUT OUT THE FIRE. MY CAR WAS BURNT TO THE GROUND!

THE CONTACT'S SON GUIDED THE VEHICLE FROM THE MIDDLE LANE TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FIRST TO AN INDEPENDNENT MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH ENGINE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALER HYUNDAI OF CENTRAL FLORIDA (17325 E HIGHWAY 50 CLERMONT, FL 34711, 888-566-5820) WHO CONFIRMED THE SAME DIAGNOSIS OF THE ENGINE CEASING. THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN THE SPECIFIC REASON AS TO WHY THE ENGINE CEASED. THE DEALER INITIALLY STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ENGINE AND WOULD SUBMIT A REQUEST TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT CALLED AND CONFIRMED WITH THE MANUFACTURER THE ENGINE WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL AND WOULD CONTACT THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER THEN DECLINED THE REPAIR BY EMAIL STATING THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FOUR YEARS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
FIRST, MY LOW BEAMS QUIT WORKING MONTHS AGO. BULBS ARE GOOD. I EVEN TOOK IT IN TO A SHOP TO HAVE IT CHECKED. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THAT MAKES SENSE SINCE I JUST STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE DOME LIGHTS INSIDE AS WELL. HAVE TO HAVE THE INSIDE LIGHTS TURNED OFF OR THEY WILL NOT GO OFF. MOST RECENTLY, ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK, MY CAR LOST POWER AND THE DASH LIT UP WITH LIGHTS AND I HAD TO PULL OVER. STARTED MAKING A LOUD CLANGING NOISE AS WELL. TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AGAIN TO GET IT LOOKED AT. THEY SAID MY OIL WAS ALMOST GONE. NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK. I JUST RECENTLY HAD THE OIL CHANGED! SHOULD NOT BE OUT OF OIL. THEY FURTHER NOTED THAT THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF OIL LEAKAGE ANYWHERE. SUGGESTED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND WAS EXCESSIVELY BURNING OIL. NOT SURE WHAT I AZA M SUPPOSED TO DO NOW. I HAVE A ISSUES WITH SAFETY DUE TO MY LIGHTS NOT WORKING, AND A BIGGER ISSUE WITH MY ENGINE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I NEED HELP!
I CANNOT WIND UP BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SEATS WINDOWS ON MY2011 HYUNDAI SONATA
I BOUGHT A 2011 SONATA 24 HOURS LATER I TOOK IT ON THE ROAD. JUST AS I GET AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME I WAS GOING UP A STEEP HILL... THE NEXT THING I KNOW MY RPMS SHOT UP PAST FOUR AND THEN NEXT THING U KNOW EVERY LIGHT ON MY DASH CAME ON AND MY GAS PEDDLE STOPPED WORKING. I ALSO MADE SURE TO GET AN OIL CHANGE BEFORE I LEFT. ONCE I FINALLY GOT THE CAR TOWED BACK HOME I TRIED AGAIN TO START IT NOW MY ENGINE IS KNOCKING... I CONTACTED THE GUY WHO SOLD IT (LICENSED TO SELL CARS) MENTIONED HE DID NOT KNOW OF ANY RECALL. WILL BE CALLING A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP NEAR ME IN THE AM FOR MORE INFO.

THE DEALER BERGSTROM AUTOMOTIVE (3023 N VICTORY LN, APPLETON, WI 54913) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 124,900.
HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT AT NIGHT AS WELL AS THE INTERIOR DASH LIGHTS GOING OUT FOR NO REASON, WHILE DRIVING. BENN HAPPING EVERY FEW DAYS SINCE JULY
HARD TO STEER AND CONTROL, THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND WHEN IN MOTION. IT IS CONSTANT WEATHER I'M DRIVING IN THE CITY OR HWY. IT'S BEEN HAPPEN FOR OVER 2 MOS. BUT JUST STARTED TO GET WORSE. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MATTER WHAT SPEED I'M GOING.
TAIL LIGHT BURNS OUT AFTER BEING REPLACED. BRAKE LIGHTS OUT; GOT HIT FROM REAR. WINDOW BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT WHILE CAR WAS PARKED... I WAS INDOORS, HAPPENED TO NOTICE IT WHILE LOOKING OUT HOUSE WINDOW, APPARENTLY HAD BEEN ON FOR HOURS UNTIL I WENT OUTSIDE AND TURNED KEY AND STEPPED ON BRAKE PEDAL REPEATEDLY. I'M CONCERNED THAT THERE'S A ELECTRICAL ISSUE.
