THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT WAS LEAVING THE HYUNDAI DEALER WHEN THE COLLISION OCCURRED AFTER GETTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND A FLAT TIRE REPAIRED, BUT THE DEALER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE COLLISION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 164,000.

ENGINE REPLACED IN 2015 AFTER SEIZING AND RECALL OF THETA 11. VEHICLE SERVICED INCLUDING OIL CHANGE AT DEALERSHIP ON 2/11/21. ON 2/22/21 ENGINE KNOCKED TWICE AND VEHICLE STALLED. DRIFTED OFF ROAD, TURNED KEY OFF, PUT CAR IN PARK. WITHIN 3 MINUTES ENGINE WAS ON FIRE WITH FLAMES EXTENDING BELOW CAR. FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT FIRE OUT AND HAD CAR TOWED TO SUBURBAN HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPARTMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO BILL DUBE HYUNDAI (271 MAIN ST, WILMINGTON, MA 01887) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING DUE TO A CRACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V934000 ( ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). We have refill engine oil weekly. After every oil change a month the oil is dark and a needs a quart more to refill. This is regularly since 2015. We purchased the car in 2012. 2019 the front ball joints started clumping in reverse, replaced in 2021. While driving on the freeway and exiting off onto a ramp the car dramatically down shifted and was unable to correct itself. Later discovered the computer module needed replacement. We still are refilling oil weekly. Not to mention replacing the clock spring twice.
TL*THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER OWNED A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED IN DECEMBER FOR UNKNOWN RECALLS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO PRODUCE SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT THROUGH THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND EXITED THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENT WERE CALLED AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL TOW YARD WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE FAILURE CAUSE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 137,000.
ON FRIDAY THE 13TH OF FEBRUARY WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN INTERSECTION MY CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS TRAFFIC ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD AND OF COURSE PEOPLE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PATIENCE AND I WAS STUCK AND PLACED MY BLINKERS ON. AND WAITED FOR AAA TO ARRIVE. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND THEN STATIONARY.
MY VIN IS SHOWING 2 RECALLS THAT ARE INCOMPLETE THAT I HAVE TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO BE CORRECTED. MY 2011 HYUNDAI BURNS OIL VERY QUICKLY WITHIN WEEKS OF AN OIL CHANGE. I AM CONSTANTLY ADDING OIL. THERE IS NO OIL LEAK DETECTED IN THE VEHICLE. I WAS ASSURED THAT THE ENGINE RECALL WAS LOOKED AT AND NOT AFFECTED BUT ACCORDING TO THIS SITE THAT RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. I ALSO HAVE TO REPLACE TAIL AND HEADLIGHTS AND WHEN I USE A BLINKER AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF. I HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED AT JENKINS HYUNDAI OF JACKSONVILLE FL 904/420-7171

THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I JUST PURCHASED MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA FROM A PREVIOUS OWNER. SEVERAL RECALLS REPAIRS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. THE ISSUE I'M REPORTING - THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT IS STUCK IN THE RECLINE POSITION AND THE SEAT WILL NOT GO BACK UP OR MOVE FORWARD TO INCLINE POSITION. I'M DRIVING WITH NO BACK SUPPORT. THE OTHER DRIVER'S POWER SEAT CONTROLS WORK EXCEPT FOR THE ONE THAT RAISES THE BACK OF THE SEAT. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE SEAT COULD INADVERTENTLY RECLINE AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A VERY SERIOUS INJURY OR FATALITY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING, THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO LATCH PROPERLY. THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER FORCED THE SEAT BELT INTO THE LATCH TO SECURELY LATCH THE SEAT BELT. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED WHILE REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO APPLE VALLEY HYUNDAI (2934 VALLEY AVE, WINCHESTER, VA 22601, (855) 463-5530) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V617000 (SEAT BELTS) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
RADIO WENT COMPLETELY OUT. HEAD LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHT ALWAYS GOING OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND HESITATED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT'S WIFE STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AT HIS RESIDENCE AND RETRIEVED DTC CODE: P1326 (CHECK ENGINE KNOCK SENSOR FAILURE). THE CONTACT'S WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HER RESIDENCE. ALLEN TURNER HYUNDAI (6501 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT OVER 125,000 MILES THE RECALL REPAIR WAS EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 137,722.*DT*JB
THE CAR DOES NOT START AT RANDOM, USUALLY AFTER IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN SOMEWHERE LIKE THE GAS STATION OR THE GROCERY STORE. IT CANNOT BE JUMP-STARTED AND PUMPING THE BREAKS HAS NO EFFECT, THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CAR TO START IS TO WAIT, LETTING THE CAR SIT OFF FOR A WHILE, AND EVENTUALLY, AN ATTEMPT TO RESTART THE CAR WILL WORK (NOTE: "A WHILE" CAN RANGE FROM ANYWHERE FROM 10 MINUTES TO 4 HOURS). THE BATTERY AND STARTER HAVE BOTH BEEN TESTED TO BE FUNCTIONAL AND THUS ARE NOT THE CULPRIT. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF HOW NEW THE BATTERY IN THE KEY IS. THIS ISSUE HAS RESULTED IN BEING STRANDED IN SOME PLACES FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 3 YEARS AND HAS STARTED HAPPENING WITH MORE FREQUENCY AS TIME GOES ON.
MY HYUNDAI SONATA 2011 WITH VIN [XXX], IS HAVING ISSUES THAT IS CONNECTING-ROD BEARINGS IN THE ENGINE THAT COULD WEAR OUT PREMATURELY AND DAMAGE THE ENGINE. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE SAME RECALL TIED TO HYUNDAI SONATA 2011 - 2013 HYBRID. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS MY CAR IS NOT AN HYBRID. Dashboard cracked. Completely cracked into small pieces throughout the dashboard.
TOTAL LOSS OF CAR DUE TO ENGINE FIRE. ON DEC 30,2020 AT MILE MARKER 31 ON I95 SOUTH OUTSIDE OF STONEY CREEK VA, WHEN I WAS DRIVING, ALL LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AT THE SAME TIME-THEN WE LOST ABILITY TO ACCERLEATE-GAS PEDAL NOT WORKING. WE PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF I95-SMOKE CAME OUT OF ENGINE AND WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES.
THERE IS A THUMPING COMING FROM THE DRIVER FRONT WHEEL AREA WHEN GOING OVER MINOR BUMPS. UPON TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT WHEN AT A STOP THERE IS A CLUNCKING SOUND. DRIVING AROUND 55 CAR SHAKES. SUSPECT STEERING COUPLER
I HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS MY TRANSMISSION STOP WORKING AND I COULD NOT CHANGE GEARS SO I TOOK MY CAR TO HYUNDAI SHOP AND PAID OUT OF POCKET OVER $900 AND COME TO FOUND OUT IT WAS A RECALL #123,SO HYUNDAI CALL ME AFTER I LEFT THE SHOP SAYING THEY NOT GONE REIMBURSE ME WHICH IS NOT RIGHT.
HELLO I RECENTLY HAD MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION CABLE DETACH FROM THE CONTROL ARM,SO I GOT IT REPLACED AND PAID CASH WHICH WAS OVER $900 BECAUSE THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION CABLE,SO I NOTICED THAT THIS IS A RECALL AND SENT IT TO HYUNDAI AND NOW THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY IT BACK,PLEASE READ THE EMAIL RESPONSE FROM THEM.
Very high oil consumption. Tested with dealer and came out at 1qt/1 mile. Knok sensor detection system was installed while in warranty but they won't replace the engine.
VEHICLE WAS RECALLED BY NHSTA AND HYUNDAI FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT. ENGINE DIED, SENT TO DEALER FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT UNDER THE NHSTA AND HYUNDAI AGREEMENT. DEALER IS LYING ABOUT THE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER NOT MATCHING THE VEHICLE. SAME DEALER SOLD THE CAR AS A DEALER CERTIFIED VEHICLE. IF THAT'S THE CASE, THE VIN NUMBER AND ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER WAS MATCHED AT THE TIME OF CERTIFICATION. THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE ENGINE PER NHSTA AND HYUNDAI AGREEMENT OF RECALL!
SOMETIME WHEN I SWITCH FROM REVERSED OR DRIVE THE CAR BOUNCE FORWARD A BIT.

PERFORMED TSB 17-EM-001 AND REPLACED BOTH STARTER AND INTAKE MANIFOLD DUE TO HAVING DEBRIS AND STARTER INTERMITTLY NOT ENGAGING 8P1326KO 8.3 REPLACED ENGINE UNDER CAMPAIGN T3G PER PA. AN IN DEPTH MULTI POINT INSPECTION PROMOTING SAFETY AND RELIABILITY MINIMIZING MECHANICAL FAILURE WAS PERFORMED. ON 5/6/2021 THE ENGINE FAILED AGAIN, DEALERSHIP IN NORMAN OK FINALLY SERVICED THE VEHICLE ON 5/11/2021 UNDER ENGINE RECALL WARRANTY AFTER MULTIPLE ESCALATION COMPLAINTS CLAIMING TO HAVE PASSED BEARING CLEARANCE TEST, COMPUTER UPDATES AND REPLACED ENGINE KNOCK SENSOR. DEALER REFUSES TO INSPECT INSTEAD KEEPS GUESSING SOLICITING SERVICE REPAIRS TO REPLACE FUEL PUMPS AND BELTS OUT OF POCKET RANGING COSTS FROM $500 TO $1200 WHILE COLLEGE STUDENT IS STRANDED 400 MILES AWAY FROM HOME.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COMES ON AND OIL LIGHT. SO IM PROMPTED TO GET OIL CHANGE. MECHANIC SAYS HE RESET SOME CODES AND THE ENGINE LOCKED UP.MECHANIC TOOK MY RUNNING VEHICLE FROM THE SHOP TO CHECK HOW IT WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STALLED IN MOTION.

MY ENGINE FAILED WHILE DRIVING.....I HAD IT TOWED TO HYUNDAI DEALER BECAUSE I WAS INFORMEF ABOUT VEHICLE RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH LOANER CAR WITHOUT FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE ALMOST 30 DAYS.
STEERING GETS LOCKED WHILE DRIVING CANNOT MAKE RITE OR LEFT TURNS AS NEEDED, ALSO IT MAKES KNOCKINGS SOUND WHILE TURNING. CAR GOT 45OOO MILES & GOT 6-7 RECALLS FOR DEFERENT ITEMS, VERY DANGEROUS, ALMOST INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT COUPLE OF TIMES. CALLED DEALER, THEY SAID IS NOT COVER IN WARRANTY & IT COST $500 TO 1000 DEPEND ON PARTS, LABOR REQUIRED.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING AND GOING TO DO A TURN THE WHEEL TURN TO THE OTHER SIDE BY ITSELF. I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP ON ROUTE FOUR TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC. THEY REPLACED MY STEERING COLUMN AND MY BRAKES.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM MARYLAND AND MY CAR STARTED MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE. WE THOUGHT IT WAS A STICK UNDERNEATH SO WE PULLED OVER SAFELY AND TRIED TO LOOK UNDER, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. AS WE CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR WOULD ONLY GO 45 MPH, AND AS WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE THIS WAS VERY SCARY. IT'S SOON STOPPED ACCELERATING, AND WE HAD TO ROLL TO THE NEAREST EXIT. DURING THIS ENTIRE TIME, THE CAR WAS STILL MAKING THE KNOCKING NOISE. ONCE WE GOT OFF THE EXIT MY CAR TIRES LOCKED UP AND EVENTUALLY STALLED. IT WOULD NO LONGER TURN ON. AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE AAA TOWED IT TO THE NEAREST HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TOLD ME MY ENGINE WAS SHOT.
I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH MY SONATA SINCE I'VE HAD IT. THE KEY ALWAYS GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND WON'T COME OUT AT ALL. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU WIGGLE IT. I'VE GOOGLE THIS ISSUE AND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD IT. THERE IS NO ANSWER ON HOW TO FIX IT.

I DROVE THE CAR DAILY TO WORK, ONE DAY (OCTOBER 23,2020) WHILE DRIVING HOME THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET IN PHILADELPHIA ON ADAMS AVE, SOMEONE FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD HAD TO PUSH MY CAR TO A SAFE LOCATION, I TRIED TO RESTART IT AND NOTHING, HAD IT TOWED TO TRIPLE A CAR CARE CENTER WHERE I WAS TOLD IT HAS A ENGINE LOCK, THE ENGINE WILL NOT TURN. I WAS TOLD TO CALL HYUNDAI TO SEE IF THEY WILL REPAIR IT AND I WAS TOLD BY HYUNDAI THAT IT WAS NOT A RECALL ON THIS SPECIFIC VIN, I AM VERY SAD AND UPSET.
IN OCTOBER 2020 MY CAR WAS RUNNUNG PERFECT, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHT OR ANYTHING MY CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WHILE IN MOTION AND FIVE MINUTES LATER STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. I WAS NOT TURNING, I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT. I TOOK IT TO A HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T REPLACE ENGINE BECAUSE IT WAS OVER THE MILES. I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THE ROD GOING IN MY CAR ENGINE AND CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS WHAT WENT WRONG WITH MY CAR BUT THEY HAD TO WAIT UNTIL A REMEDY WAS PUT IN PLACE. I HAVE BEEN 5 MONTHS WITHOUT MY CAR AND I HAVE 3 KIDS. I'M CONTACTING BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR LIFE INCONVENIENCE. ESPECIALLY DURING THE PANDEMIC.
MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND MY RADIO BLEW OUT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND WON'T GO OUT. I'M
EVER SINCE I HAD A NEW ENGINE PUT IN MY CAR, MY CAR HASN'T BEEN THE SAME. IT ACTS LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO GO WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL RIGHT AFTER (WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ECO MODE), THEN MY DASH STARTED TO CRACK, NOW IS EXTREMELY CRACKED WHICH HAS AN AIR BAG, GAS GAGE HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN, BURNING A SEVERE AMOUNT OF OIL A WEEK SO THERE IS NO POINT IN 'CHANGING THE OIL', OIL LIGHT NEVER ONCE COMES ON LETTING ME KNOW ITS LOW, NO OIL ON MY DRIVEWAY OR UNDER THE HOOD, INTERIOR DOME LIGHT SOMETIMES DOESN'T SHUT OFF, THE BRAKE LIGHTS SHORT OUT ON A MONTHLY BASIS AND GET PULLED OVER BY THE COPS ALL THE TIME. NOW WITH ONLY 50,000 MILES ON THE 'NEW ENGINE', I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE ITS SMOKING WHEN I CRANK IT, DOESN'T ACCELERATE SOMETIMES GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I PRESS THE GAS, THEN STARTS SMOKING, HEADLIGHTS FLICKER, ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND LOW TIRE LIGHT STAYS ON (EVEN AFTER GETTING NEW TIRES & ALIGNMENT). TOOK IT IN YESTERDAY, HYUNDAI IS STATING MY OXYGEN SENSORS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER & GASKETS AND INTAKE MANIFOLD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT $3,177. THE CAR ISN'T EVEN WORTH THAT MUCH. THIS IS NOT THE REASON WHY MY CAR IS USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL, SMOKING WHEN I CRANK IT AND ACTS LIKE THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO BLOW UP. THEN THEY COME BACK TO TELL ME IT NEEDS THE ABOVE, PLUS AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT BUT OUT OF 'GOODWILL' THEY WILL ONLY CHARGE ME 20% ($2,000) WITH NO LOANER CAR. ITS GOING ON 3 WEEKS NOW. THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS USELESS AND VERY RUDE. I HAVE A VOICEMAIL STATING 'THIS IS THE HIGHEST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND ONCE THE DECISION HAS BE MADE, THOSE DECISIONS ARE FIANL AND ITS UP TO YOU TO DECLINE OR ACCEPT OUR OFFER.' IT'S THE ENGINE, AGAIN! WHICH THEN LEAD TO OTHER ISSUES! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI AGAIN!! THIS CAR HAS CAUSED NOTHING BUT MONEY AND TIME, COMPLETE WASTE OF JUNK!
I STARTING HEARING A CLICKING THEN THE CAR LOST ALL POWER, STEERING WAS SO STIFF, BRAKES WOULD NOT PRSS DOWN I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD THEN SMOKE WAS POURING OUT THE FRONT. I COULD SMELL WIRES BURING WE POUR WATER DOWN IN THE MOTOR BUT THE HOSES WERE STILL HOT TO THE TOUCH. THE CAR WILL NOT RESTART. I SCARED ME TO DEATH IN SO GLAD I SLOWED DOWN. I BOUGHT THE CAR LESS THAN 1YR AGO. DONT DEALERS HAVE TO CHECK THESE THINGS. I'M SO FRUSTRATED. SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL A CAR IF YOU KNOW THERES AN OPEN RECALL. I'M THANKFUL MY KIDS WERENT WITH ME.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WAYNE MAZDA (1244 NJ-23, WAYNE, NJ 07470) TO VERIFY IF THE ENGINE WAS ELIGIBLE FOR AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED HOWEVER, AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE PASSED ALL TEST AND WAS OK. THE CONTACT LEFT THE DEALER A SECOND TIME AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER, LYNNES HYUNDAI (401 BLOOMFIELD AVE, BLOOMFIELD, NJ 07003) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 194,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE AT A NEARBY PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CONTACTED TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS ABOUT THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 160,000.
WHILE DRIVING THERE IS A NOTICEABLE "CLICKING" NOISE, ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE. AND IT IS GETTING LOUDER. HAS BEEN OCCURRING THE PAST TWO MONTHS.

STARTED TO DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY, VEHICLE CUT OFF IN MOTION. IT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON ANYMORE

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER MOTHER WAS DRIVING, THE STEERING DETACHED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER MOTHER'S RESIDENCE AND WAS LATER TOWED TO MCCOMBS SUPERIOR HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 4800 NW INTERSTATES 410 LOOP, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78229, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LINKAGE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT IT WOULD BE A WEEK TO TWO WEEKS BEFORE SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO THE VEHICLE OWNER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 165,000.
DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT POPS LOSE. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE REPLACED UNDER RECALL169. IT HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING. MY BREAK LIGHTS BURN OUT A LOT FASTER THAN USUAL ( 2 WEEKS). THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT BURNED THE PLASTIC UNIT WHERE THE LIGHT BULB IS INSERTED. THERE IS A CRACK IN MY STEERING WHEEL CUP WHICH SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THAT AS WELL.
I BOUGHT THIS USED O THIS SUMMER HAD IT LOOKED AT AND HAD OIL CHANGE AND THE ENGINE NEEDS REPLACED. OIL WAS COMPLETELY GONE BUT NO LEAK. AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A RELIABLE CAR FOR MY DAUGHTER TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO COLLEGE.
THE ENGINE BLOW IN MY CAR AND I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF IT HAS A RECALL ON IT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS WORKING JUST FINE. I WAS DRIVING AND IT STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE
MY CAR CHANGED TO CRUISE CONTROL ON ITS OWN. I COULDN'T GET OUT OF IT UNTIL I PARKED. MY LIGHTS DON'T WORK THE CONSTANTLY FLICK ON AND OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO FAILED TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT SENSOR AFTER I REPORTED THAT THEY NEVER FIXED IT. THEY PUT IT IN THE DATABASE THAT IT WAS REPAIRED BUT I WAS STILL WAITING ON A PART I NEVER RECEIVED
I WENT TO GO PARK AND MY GEAR SHIFTER BROKE, IT WAS STUCK IN REVERSE. ONCE PART OF DASH WAS REMOVED THE CABLE LINK THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE SHIFTER BROKE OFF. THIS WAS A TERRIBLE INCONVENIENCE.
