TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VAN HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 1301 S INTERSTATE 35E, CARROLLTON, TX 75006, (972) 437-8334) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE PASSED THE TEST AND DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 86,000.
THE STEERING DEVELOPED SIGNIFICANT PLAY IN THE WHEEL OVER A VERY SHORT TIME. THIS WAS DUE TO THE DETERIORATION OF THE STEERING COUPLING, A $5.00 PART THAT WAS CLEARLY UNDER-ENGINEERED. HYUNDAI HAS RECOGNIZED THIS BY EXTENDING THE WARRANTY, BUT THE ITEM HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED, LEAVING SIGNIFICANT NUMBERS OF OWNERS OPERATING VEHICLES WITH COMPROMISED STEERING UNITS.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON
THE FRONT END IS SQUEAKING AND MAKING A NOISE WHEN TURNING.
CRUISE CONTROL WORKS OFF AND ON ONE DAY IT WORKS FINE AND THE NEXT DAY IT DON'T WORK! VERY ANNOYING I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMETHING WILL WORK AND THEN IT WON'T WORK
OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN VEHICLE IS SITTING STILL, THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS POPPING ON. IT WILL STAY ON FOR A WHILE, BUT THEN GO OFF. I WENT TO HAVE MY OIL CHANGED AND EVENT THOUGH IT WAS AT 3,000 MILES, THE OIL WAS LOW, DARK, SLUDGY AND METAL SHAVINGS WERE FOUND IN MY OIL PAN---ENGINE SOMETIMES SPUTTERS. FINALLY MY INTERIOR LIGHTS WON'T GO OFF, I HAVE TO JUST KEEP THEM TO THE OFF POSITION VERSUS "DOOR" SO THAT MY BATTERY DOESN'T DRAIN.
MY FRONT, BACK, BREAK LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY OUT. I'M REPLACING THEM SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY'VE CHANGED THE HOUSING. PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE BECAUSE THERE IS AN OVER HEATING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON I-75 DOING ABOUT 65 MPH, WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER, ENGINE STOPPED. IT FELT LIKE ALL POWER STEERING, BREAKS AND STEERING WHEEL, WENT AWAY. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ON THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER TO THE SIDE. THIS HAPPENED THE NIGHT OF SUNDAY, THE 20TH OF OCTOBER. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHERE I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE HAD FROZEN UP AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I READ ON LINE THAT HYNDAUI HAD EXTENDED ENGINE WARRANTY ON '11 SONATAS TO 120,000 MILES, SO I HAD IT TOWED THIS MORNING TO POTAMKIM HYNDAUI. I BOUGHT THAT CAR BRAND NEW BACK IN 2011, AND HAVE RELIGIOUSLY CHANGED OIL EVERY 5000 MILES USING SYNTHETIC OIL EVERY SINGLE TIME. THE CAR HAD 118028 MILES WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
STEERING COLUMN FAILURE - NEED REPLACEMENT. LOUD CLANKING WHEN PERFORMING ANY TURNS. ALSO CAUSING CAR TO PULL FOREABLY TO SIDE WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, AND THE HORN AND SEVERAL CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ODOMETER WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN UNKNOWN AIR BAG REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE AT KENDALL HYUNDAI DEALER, (15895 S DIXIE HWY, MIAMI, FL 33157, (855) 510-3093). THE VEHICLE TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SENSOR THAT GO TO THE GROUNDED WIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
I took my 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0L Turbo to my Hyundai Dealership and had several overdue recalls done, one being a complete engine replacement. Upon receiving vehicle again, I then took vehicle to Smog Check Center (California resident) and the vehicle failed in one category: Liquid Fuel Leak Check. I have read on NHTSA notices and other sites that certain 2011-2014 Sonata 2.0L Turbo and 2.4L engines are being recalled for this very issue: confirming high pressure fuel pipe was connected by Hyundai dealer to high-pressure fuel pump outlet during engine replacement (Recall 180). My VIN search states I have 0 open recalls though my vehicle appears to suffer from this exact issue.
MY HEADLIGHTS AND REAR LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP GOING BAD, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS STAYING ON SOME KIND OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE.
1. STEERING FEELS TIGHT AND UNRESPONSIVE. HAVE HADTHIS CHECKED AS A COMPLAINT AT SERVICE CENTER WITH NO HELP. 2. GEAR STICKS IN PARK. RECENTLY WAS IN SERVICE FOR ANOTHER RECALL AND WAS TOLD FOR 130$ THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. VERY NEXT WEEK I WAS STUCK FOR 1.5 HRS UNTIL I COULD GET IT TO MOVE. BOTH PROBLEMS HQVE BEEN REPORTED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH NO REPAIR. IT ONLY HAS 40000 MILES. DO NOT CALL ME WITH OFFER TO LOOK AT IT. THEY HAVE SEEN IT AND PROBLEM IS NOT ADDRESSED. YOUR SERVICE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE SELL.. HOW CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND THIS KIND OF SERVICE?
ENGINE WAS REPLACED PER EXTENDED WARRANTY REGARDING RECALL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO MASSEY HYUNDAI ON 09/07/2019 AND RETURNED WITH REMAN MOTOR ON 09/12/19. SINCE THEN THE VEHICLE HAS SHOWED OVER HEATING AND THE BACKUP CAMERA DISPLAYS A WHITE SCREEN ON 10/09/19. CALLED AFTER TEMP LIGHT CAME ON AND HYUNDAI HAS THE NERVE TO SAY THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE TOW. ON TOP OF THAT THEY PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE EXPLAINED THE WIRING HARNESS WASN'T REPLACED. TEMP LIGHT HASN'T CAME BACK ON DUE TO MY SON NOT USING THE A/C. NHTSA HAS NOT HELD HYUNDAI OR KIA ACCOUNTABLE FOR ISSUES THEY NO DOUBT KNEW ABOUT. THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN A BUY BACK FOR THESE MOTORS. WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR A NEW VEHICLE. WE JUST WANTED THE VEHICLE WORKING PROPERLY. NOW MY SON IS STUCK WITH A VEHICLE WITH ALL KINDS OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DUE TO HYUNDAIS FLAW. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS WORKING FINE PRIOR TO THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT AND HYUNDAI SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. NHTSA IS STARTING TO FRUSTRATE ME

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND THERE WAS A HESITATION BETWEEN THE WHEELS AND THE MOVEMENT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SIMILAR VEHICLES WERE SUBJECTED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V426000 (STEERING) AND 16V190000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENGINE JUST LOCKED AND STOPPED. I AM NOT SURE WHATS GOING ON BUT I WAS AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 65MPH. I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE PRIOR.
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. MY HEADLIGHTS AND INTERIOR STARTED BLINKING OFF AND ON BY THEMSELVES WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT FOR ABOUT A 30 OR 40 SECOND INTERVAL. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY FOUND THAT THE THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT INTERNAL FAULT WITH THE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SWITCH. JUST GOT IT BACK SO I'VE ONLY DRIVEN IT ABOUT 50 MILES AT NIGHT SO FAR NO PROBLEM BUT IT'S TOO EARLY TO SAY FOR SURE IF THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM TO MY SATISFACTION. THE PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENED ABOUT 3 TIMES BUT IT IS UNPREDITCABLE WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS BUT WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN AND IT'S DARK, IT'S NOT SAFE SO WE TOOK IT IN RIGHT AWAY ON THE THIRD TIME BECAUSE THIS WAS THE LONGEST PERIOD OF TIME THAT THE PROBLEM LASTED. IF YOU'RE HAVING ANY PROBLEM LIKE THIS, I SUGGEST YOU GET IT LOOKED AT RIGHT AWAY, VERY DANGEROUS. IT COST ME $209 TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING ABOUT 55MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED. DATE WAS 10-17-2019.
TRUNK LATCH WILL NOT OPEN WITH BUTTON NOR KEY. PARKED IN PARKING LOT TRYING TO PUT MY DAUGHTER'S STROLLER IN TRUNK AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN. ALL OF MY ROADSIDE SAFETY EQUIPMENT IS NOW LOCKED IN WITH NO WAY TO GET IT OUT.

WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND I TRY AND TURN THE CAR OFF THE DASH DISPLAY READS PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND AS A RESULT THE CAR WON'T TURN OFF.
MY 2011 SONATA SUDDENLY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH AFTER PULLING OVER RESTARTING CAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR ONLY HAS 107599 MILES
VEHICLE STALLED ON HIGHWAY WOULD NOT START HAD TO BE TOWED ON 10/1/19.TOWED TO SERVICE VENDOR, NOT A HYUNDAI DEALER. THEY STATED ENGINE LOCKED. VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT ST CHARLES HYUNDAI AUTOMOTIVE 8/19/19 REPLACED OIL FLOW CONTROL VALVE. CONTACTED HYUNDAI DEALER STATED NOTHING THEY COULD DO. MILEAGE 138,000 AND ALL REQUIRED SERVICE HAD BEEN DONE. RECALL 132 INSPECTION HAD BEEN DONE AT APPROXIMATELY 58,000 ON 2/15/16. NOTED NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS TO NHTSA SHOWING NUMEROUS 2011 SONATA HAD ENGINE FAILURE AFTER THE EXTENDED FORMAT OF 120,000 AND MANY HAD FAILED A SECOND TIME AFTER ENGINES FAILED. THIS VEHICLE WAS BUILT AT ALABAMA PLANT. THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY AND INSPECTED. THE DECISION WOULD BE HYUNDAI USA NOT THE DEALERSHIP. IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN NOT BE A DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. THE NUMBER OF UNITS REPAIRED AND REPAIRED A SECOND TIME GOES AGAINST THE AVERAGES . THE NUMBER OF FIRES THAT HAVE RESULTED IN TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLES APPEARS TO BE AND INDICATION OF NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH VEHICLES FROM THIS PLANT. IT WILL COST $4500 TO REPLACE THIS ENGINE AND HYUNDAI USA SHOULD BEAR SOME OF THE COST. IF AFTER ENGINE REPLACEMENT VEHICLE PERFORMED PROPERLY THAT WOULD PROVE THE CORRECTION, BUT MANY UNITS HAD TO HAVE THE NECK FILLER REPLACED THE PLANT HAD A PROBLEM. ENGINES FAILED WITH ONLY 10,000, 30,000 65,000, 135,000 MILES. THE UNITS THAT BURNT WERE HANDLED BY INSURANCE AND HYUNDAI USA NOT HELD ACCOUNTABLE. PLEASE REOPEN THE INVESTIGATION ON RECALL 132 THE NUMBER OF OWNERS ARE BEARING THE BRUNT OF HYUNDAI POOR QUALITY. UNDERSTANDING THEY COMPLETELY CHANGED THAT ENGINE IN 2012 KNOWING THE 2011 ISSUES COULD NOT BE FIXED CORRECTLY
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH IS CUTTING MY HANDS WHEN OPENING THE DOOR. THE CHROME PAINT ON THE PLASTIC DOOR LATCH IS PEELING AND VERY SHARP.
STERRING COLUMM SHAKES WHEN IN MOTION AND STEERING WHEEL HAS PLAY ---LEFT TO RIGHT ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS
FIRSTLY, I HAVE HAD 13 RECALLS ON MY CAR. THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. I HAVE DRIVEN NOTHING BUT HYUNDAIS FOR YEARS. I AM SO SICK OF THIS 2011. I HAVE TO GO BACK YET AGAIN TO A DEALERSHIP TO GET THE AIRBAGS DONE ON MONDAY, 9-30-2019. IT TOOK A LONG TIME AND I WAS NOT OFFERED A LOANER CAR. YOUR TALKING ABOUT MY LIFE HEER. I AM JUST SO FED UP. LAST TIME I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN BROCKTON, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FLEX PIPE. OKAY, I PAID OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS TO BE FIXED 245.00 BUT THAT WASN'T THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS CODE PO456, EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK. ARE YOU KIDDING? I HAVE TO BRING IT TO A DIFFERENT GARAGE TO HAVE THIS FIXED! CONSIDERING ALL OF THE TIME THAT I HAVE HAD TO WASTE AND TO ARRANGE FOR RIDES, I MUST NOW PAY FOR THIS TO BE FIXED???? I AM SO ANGRY, I WOULD LIKE HYUNDAI TO REIMBURSE ME FOR MY TIME AND AGGRAVATION. I WAS SITTING IN MY CAR WITH THE ENGINE OFF AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE FROM UNDER HOOD OUT OF NOWHERE!!..
MY CAR QUIT RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD LAST APRIL 2019. I TAKES IT TO HYUNDAI DEALER FOR A RECALL. THEY PUT IT ON GARAGE FOR REPAIR ON MAY 21 2019. ON JUNE 21 2019 THEY CALL TELLING THAT THE CAR IS READY. I PICKUP AND KEEP DRIVING IT UNTIL YESTERDAY AFTER WORK ON MY WAY HOME THE SAME THING HAPPEN. I COULD LOST MY LIFE YESTERDAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD.. I HAVE TOW TO MY HOUSE AND EXPECT HYUNDAI TO TAKE CARE OF THIS MATTER FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. THANK YOU. THE ENGINE JUST TURN OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND WOULDN'T START AGAIN. NO CHECK ENGINE OR ANY OTHER WAS ON. AND THE BATTERY IS NEW.
WHEN CHANGING GEARS FROM PARK INTO REVERSE, THE GEAR INDICATOR SYMBOL ON THE DASH DISAPPEARED AND THE CAR STOPPED MOVING AND APPEARED TO SLIP INTO A NEUTRAL OR A NON-GEAR. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR INTO PARK, SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTING THE CAR SEEMED TO HELP HOWEVER WHEN PUTTING THE CAR INTO DRIVE THE CAR JUMPED FORWARD.
STEERING WHEEL U-JOINT UNDER DASH BINDING AND CAUSING STEERING WHEEL TO LOCK UP DURING DRIVING.
UNFORTUNATELY, AT 50,000 MILES MY CAR BEGAN HAVING MAJOR ISSUES. IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN A YEAR, SINCE I BOUGHT MY USED CAR, AND IT IS HAVING MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUES. EVERY TIME I GO FROM PARKING TO DRIVE, OR DRIVE TO REVERSE, MY CAR JUMPS. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IT JUMPED IN MOTION. AFTER THAT INCIDENT I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR AGAIN. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. A NEW TRANSMISSION COSTS OVER $3,000 DOLLARS! I AM A STUDENT AND DO NOT HAVE THAT MONEY, NOR WILL I HAVE IT ANYTIME SOON. THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE CAR, GETTEL HYUNDAI OF CHARLOTTE COUNTY FLORIDA, NEVER ADVISED ME THAT HYUNDAI'S HAVE BEEN KNOW TO HAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURES. I INVESTED MONEY INTO A CAR THAT I CANNOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT WAS FAULTY WHEN SOLD TO ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TIGER HUNT AUTO(2482 SPRING RD SE, SMYRNA, GA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. 164K MILES. THIS IS SECOND MOTOR. I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD WHEN THIS OCCURRED, GOT VEHICLE HOME AND HAS BEEN PARKED EVER SINCE.
STEERING WHEEL SHAKES UNCONTEILLABLY HARD AND MAKES A CLICKING NOISE AS I DRIVE ESPECIALLY OVER 50 MILES APPROXIMATELY. AND ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY

AS STATED IN SERVICE BULLETIN 14-AT-010 THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE SENSOR. THIS IS COVERED ON THERE THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA'S 5/60,000 WARRANTY. THIS AN AN ELEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE 10/100,000 TRANSMISSION WARRANTY. BEING THAT HYUNDAI RELEASES THIS SERVICE BULLETIN, THIS SENSORS POSSIBLE FAILURE IS A KNOW FACT AND HAS BEEN EXPERIENCED BY MANY OTHERS AS MY ONLINE RESEARCH PROVED. HYUNDAI SHOULD COVER THIS AND NOT HAVE THEIR DEALERS CHARGED OVER $700 TO CORRECT THIS KNOWN FAULT IN THE HYUNDAI VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY VIBRATED AND AN ABNORMAL RATTLING NOISE WAS HEARD. IN ADDITION, THE HORN DID NOT WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN INTERMEDIATE CONNECTIONS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
WELL, VERY SIMPLY I WAS MERGING ONTO A PARKWAY AND PUSHING DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR, CAR WAS SPEEDING UP THEN I NOTICED THAT IT SEEMED LIKE I WASN'T GETTING ANY ACCELERATION. LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD AND SAW THAT IT SEEMED ALL THE LIGHTS WERE ON AND REALIZED THAT THE ENGINE HAD SHUT ITSELF DOWN. PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER AND TRIED TO RESTART IT (HEAD KIND OF A WHIRRING NOISE), BUT IT WOULDN'T START. *TR
THE FUEL SENSOR STOPPED WORKING. CAN NOT TELL HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR. MY DAUGHTER RAN OUT OF GAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY ON HER WAY HOME FROM COLLEGE! THE CAR HAS NOW FAILED INSPECTION. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FUEL SENSOR. PAID TO HAVE THIS REPLACED AT FIRESTONE AUTO CARE. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE TO FIX IT BECAUSE IT MUST HAVE TO DO WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. THIS CAR HAS MULTIPLE RECALLS AND EVEN THE ENGINE ITSELF BLEW UP. I CAN NOT KEEP LIGHTS ON IT BECAUSE EVERY TIME THE BULBS ARE REPLACED THEY BLOW. I EVEN ORDERED WHOLE OTHER TAIL LIGHT PACKAGE THINKING THAT WOULD HELP BUT IT DID NOT. HYUNDAI SONATA 2011 WHEN DRIVING THROUGH BUMPS OR A SMOOTH SERVICE IT FEELS AS IF THE CAR IS GOING TO FALL APART. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR IT HAS A CLUNKING AND RATTLING SOUNDS UNDERNEATH AND A FEW REPLACEMENTS HAS BEEN DONE BUT IT STILL FEELS AS IF ITS LOOSE UNDERNEATH. THE CAR HAS GONE THROUGH MANY RECALLS PLUS WAS OUT OF SERVICE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS FOR ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR IS NOT ALIGNED AS IT SHOULD. THE BEST PART IS WHILE DRIVING THE ENTIRE INNER COVER OF THE WHEEL ON THE DRIVER SIDE FELL OFF, AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHILE HAVING MY CHILD IN THE CAR. ENGINE WAS RECENTLY REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR HAS NO TYPE OF ACELLATOR PICK UP. WHEN TURNING LEFT IT SOUNDS LIKE A CRANKING NOISE "CLUCK, CLUCK, CLUCK" ITS HORRIBLE. I HAVE THIS CAR IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP PLENTY OF TIMES SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED IT BUT MY THEORY IS THAT I PURCHASED A LEMON CAR BUT APPARENTLY BECAUSE THE MILES IT DON'T QUALIFY. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT 6-7 MONTHS I BOUGHT IT FROM A PRIVATE OWNER I CHANGED THE OIL AND BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY. THE CAR DID HIGH MILAGE AT 194,000 MILES I STILL BOUGHT THE CAR. LAST WEEK WHILE ON MY LUNCH BREAK I WAS IN MY WAY TO GO PAY MY CAR INSURANCE WHEN I SEEN I HAD 32 MILES TO EMPTY WHICH I NEVER LET IT GET THAT LOW BUT I DID OBVIOUSLY THAT DAY. AS I BEGIN TO GO UP HILL IT FELT LIKE IT STUTTERED SO I FIGURED I WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS. BUT AS I CAME OVER THE HILL I PRESS ON THE GAS AND NOTICED THAT IT REVVED UP AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE CAR WAS LOCKED UP THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE BREAKS WERE LOCKED UP AND ALL MY DASH LIGHTS WERE ON. I WAS SCARED AND JUST LET THE CAR COAST DOWN THE HILL APPROACHING A RED LIGHT WITH TRAFFIC STOPPED ALL I COULD DO WAS HOPE I DIDNT GET IT OR HIT NO ONE ELSE FOR NOT HAVING MUCH CONTROL OVER THE CAR I BRAKED AS MUCH AS I COULD AND COASTED IT INTO A GAS STATION TO WHERE. I MADE IT TO THE PUMP AND TURNED THE OFF OFF AND WENT AND GOT GAS FOR THE CAR. TRIED TO TURN IT OVER AND NOT A THING HAPPEN SOUNDED DEAD BATTERY LIKE IT WANTED TO START BUT ONCE I TURNED THE KEY AND IT DID NOT START IF I TRIED RIGHT AFTER JUST MADE A CLICK CLICK NOISE. I TOOK MY BATTERY OUT AND HOME TO CHARGE THINKING MAYBE A BAD CELL OR MAYBE ALTERNATOR. BOUGHT NEW BATTERY AND IT NOT START SO NO NOT THE ALTERNATOR. I AM AT LOST FOR WORDS TRIED TO TURN THE CRANKSHAFT AND WONT BUDGE. AM I ABLE TO STILL GET THIS LOOKED AT BY HYUNDAI EVEN IF I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR. ITS REGISTERED TO ME IF IT IS CAUSED BY THESE RECALLS DOES THE CAR HAVE TO STILL BE RUNNING FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO RECIEVE THE BENEFITS I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR JUST STRAIGHT DIE. AFTER PUTTING CAR IN PARK, THE KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION INTERMITTENTLY. DEALER STATES NEW GEAR SHIFTER ASSEMBLY REQUIRED AT $550 COST. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS MANY ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM.
MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD - PERHAPS OVER 50 MPH, IT TURNS ON THE ESC MODE IN THE CAR, AND THE ENGINE SLOWS DOWN AUTOMATICALLY. EVEN IF YOU ARE ON THE HIGHWAY, WHIC CAN BE VERY SCARY. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING IT FREQUENTLY NOW. I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD, AND TURN OFF CAR, AND THEN TURN IT ON. SOMETIMES THIS WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2013 FOR THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN GURNEE IL. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT RECALLS, AND ISSUES. ALL OF THE RECALLS FOR THIS YEAR AND AFFECTED MY CAR AS IN THE WARNING THEY WAY MAY HAPPEN ACTUALLY HAPPEN TO ME. THEN LATER THEY HAD TO FIX IT AFTER I WORK TO CORPORATE BECAUSE IT WAS THE 132 CAMPAIGN RECALL. THE 3 DEALERSHIP I HAVE DEALT WITH ARE ALL RUDE NONE WANT TO ACTUALLY FIX YOUR CAR OR HELP YOU BECAUSE ITS RECALL WORK NOT ACTUALLY WORK THAT THEY MAKE MONEY OFF OF. NOW AS OF TODAY MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AFTER THE "FIXED" THE NEWEST SAFETY RECALL, WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED ME THEY FIXED THE ISSUE SO I WILL BE CHARGED $139.99 FOR THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT IT. WHEN WILL HYUNDAI BE ACTUALLY HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THESE CAR ISSUES THEY ARE ALL SAFETY. SO FAR THE RECALLS HAVE BEEN FOR THE ENGINE, SEAT BELTS, BRAKES, AIR BAGS, BODY CORROSION, AND SO ON! I THOUGHT THERE WAS LEMON LAW IN PLACE TO REMEDY THIS, HYUNDAI PRODUCT FAULTY VEHICLES WITH THE MODEL YEAR 2011 AND THE CONSUMER IF THE ONE LOSE AND SPENDING OUT OF POCKET. I HAD EVEN CALLED CORPORATE BEFORE THIS TO TRY AND REMEDY THE ISSUE MYSELF AND WAS TOLD THEY ARE SORRY SOME WILL CALL IN 3-5 DAYS. AT THIS POINT I AM A MOTHER DRIVING AROUND WITH CHILDREN IN A VEHICLE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT POP THE AIR BAGS WHENEVER IT FEELS LIKE OR THEY WILL NOT DEPLOY IF I DO GET IN AN ACCIDENT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THESE CARS THEY ARE NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVING AT ANY GIVEN TIME ANOTHER RECALL CAN CAUSE A MAJOR SAFETY RELATED CRASH OR DEATH AT THIS POINT. I HAVE HAD WAY TO MANY CLOSE CALL WITH MYSELF OR MY KIDS LIVES AT RISK DUE TO HYUNDAI LACK OF CARE FOR THEIR CONSUMERS.
