I BOUGHT A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA FOR MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN BANGOR MAINE AND THE INGIN IGHT CAME SO THE FIXED IS SAID IT WAS A SMALL LEAK. I DIDN'T HAVE THE CAR FOR A WEEK BECAUSE WORK WAS DONE TO IT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A TRADE IN. NOW THE TRASMION LIGHT IS ON A AND A LIGHT DAY PASSAGE AIR BAG IS OFF. I HAVEN'T HAVE THE VEHICLE IN MY POSITION FOR MORE THEN 4 DAYS SINCE MARCH 18TH 2019 WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE BEEN TOLD MANY RECALLS HAVE BEEN ON THIS MAKE A MODEL. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED OR REPAIRED.

"TAKATA RECALL" ... ON MARCH 16TH 2019 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER OUR 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED WHEN AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED AT A HIGH SPEED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS DID NOT HOLD THEM BACK BOTH WERE SEVERELY INJURED THE BRAKES ALSO FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I AM ATTACHING A PICTURE OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE ACCIDENT I DO HAVE THE POLICE REPORT HOWEVER THE OFFICER DID NOT MENTION ON THE POLICE REPORT TO MY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE AIRBAGS BUT WHEN YOU CONTACT ME I CAN GIVE YOU THE NUMBER OF THE SHOP THAT HAS THE VEHICLE AND THEY CAN VERIFY THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM WITH IGNITION KEY. THE KEY WILL NOT GO PAST ACC TO THE LOCK POSITION TO ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED. FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS IN MANUAL TO PUSH THE KEY IN AT ACC POSITION, BUT THE LOCK MECHANISM DOES NOT MOVE. HAPPENS EVERY OTHER DAY. HAVE RESTART THE CAR AND MOVE IT AND TRY THE PROCESS AGAIN TO GET KEY TO MOVE INTO ITS PROPER POSITION (LOCK) TO REMOVE KEY. IMPOSSIBLE SECURITY SITUATION AS CANNOT LEAVE KEY IN VEHICLE. ALSO STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON EVERY MORNING., AND CAR STALLS EVERY TIME I MAKE A TURN WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS DANGEROUS. TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO CLAIMED THAT ALL RECALL AND CAMPAIGN SITUATIONS HAD BEEN RESOLVED WITH MY VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL, IT MADE AN ABNORMAL TAPPING SOUND. AFTER THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED AND THE VEHICLE STRAIGHTENED UP, THE NOISE STOPPED. THE NOISE RETURNED WHEN THE CONTACT TURNED ONTO ANOTHER STREET. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT IT WOULD NOT BE LOOKED AT UNTIL IT WAS DETERMINED IF THERE WAS A RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V457000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN WE HEAR A LOUD POP. SUDDENLY THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. WE PULLED OVER AND SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE FRONT OF THE CAR. POPPED THE HOOD OPEN AND SOME OF THE WIRES WERE ON FIRE. WITHING 5 MINUTES THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS ON FIRE.
MY HYUNDAI SONATA BEGAN INCREASINGLY CONSUMING OIL RAPIDLY FOR A COUPLE MONTHS UNTIL IT GOT TO ME PUTTING IN 1 QUART EVERY 200 MILES!!! THAT DESTROYED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, ALTHOUGH THE TECH AT THE DEALER TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS DUE TO FUEL. EXPERTS AT BOTH THE EXHAUST SHOP AND FORD DEALERSHIP (WHERE I BOUGHT IT USED), REFUTED THAT AND TOLD ME IT WAS DEFINITELY DUE PRIMARILY FROM THE ENGINE CONSUMING WAY TOO MUCH OIL. HYUNDAI REQUIRED ME TO DO 5 OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS AT THEIR DELAERSHIP BEFORE THEY CAN VERIFY AND DOCUMENT THE ENGINE IS HAVING PROBLEMS! BUT IN THE MEANTIME MY ENGINE COULD LIKELY BLOW UP/SEIZE UP, AS THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA IS NOTORIOUS FOR THAT AND THEY RECALLED 470,000+ ALREADY!! I ONLY HAVE 3 OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS, AND IT SHOWS 200 MILES PER QUART!! MY CAT CONVERTER IS NOW CLOGGED AND MY CAR LOST POWER. SO NOW IN A CATCH 22 (MAYBE ON PURPOSE?). I CAN'T GET 5 TESTS WITHOUT REPLACING MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER, BUT SINCE ENGINE IS LOSING 1 QUART PER 200 MILES THAT OIL WILL SOON DESTROY ANY NEW CONVERTER I PUT ON WITHIN 1 OR 2 MONTHS, IF NOT LESS!! SO THIS IS RUINING THE CAR, AND I HAVE STARTED A CASE NUMBER WITH CORPORATE HYUNDAI IN CALIFORNIA. THEY HAVEN'T CALLED ME BACK IN SEVERAL DAYS ALL THE WHILE I DON'T HAVE A CAR TO USE. ENGINE BURNING 1 QUART PER 200 MILES OR LESS IS TERRIBLE....ENGINE IS RUINED! AND IT'S NOT SAFE!! AS I HAVE READ SO MANY 2011 SONATA OWNERS TELLING ABOUT THEIR CAR ENGINES SEIZING UP, LOCKING UP WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE LANE!! I HOPE HYUNDAI TAKES RESPONSIBILITY AS I STILL OWE $9,000 ON THIS CAR!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I HAVE SEEN RECALLS BEFORE FOR THIS CAR ABOUT THE STEERING WHEEL BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S CLOSED. I NEVER TOOK MY CAR IN FOR ANY RECALLS. IVA HAD MECHANICS LOOK AT MY CAR AND DO WORK AND IT NEVER IS FIXED. MY STEERING WHEEL CLICKS HORRIBLE ON ANY MINOR BUMP OR TURN
IN NOVEMBER 2018, WE HAD A RATTLING NOISE DURING LOW SPEEDS, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE (ENGINE SEIZED UP DURING WARM UP INSPECTION BY MECHANIC). THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED FOR FREE DUE TO AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WAS PART OF A RECALL AND SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WITH HYUNDAI. IN FEBRUARY 2019, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WHICH WAS FOR A DAMAGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND COST OVER $2000 TO REPLACE. LAST MONTH, WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HYUNDAI STATING " HYUNDAI IS CONDUCTING A SAFETY RECALL IN THE UNITED STATES TO CONFIRM THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE WAS PROPERLY CONNECTED BY HYUNDAI DEALERS TO THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP OUTLET WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALLS 132 AND 162. " WE HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR THIS SERVICE. THERE IS A NEW RECALL FOR OTHER KIA AND HYUNDAI MODELS THAT INCLUDE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED FOR OUR MODEL YEAR.
WENT IN FOR A RECALL ABOUT MY FUEL SYSTEM LINE AND THEY HAD NO REMEDY TO FIX MY VEHICLE, I RECIEVED NOTICE THERE WAS A RECALL AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT BUT THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE BEEN ALMOST A WEEK AND IM SCARED MY CAR WILL CATCH FIRE AS SAID IN THE RECALL THIS IS A TICKING TIME BOMB.
MY CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY NOW AND NORMALLY HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN.

CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ON THE CITY STREET. MILEAGE 142012
The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V934000 (Engine, Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the vehicle would accelerate whenever the volume for the radio is turned up. The vehicle would suddenly accelerate inadvertently when other functions of the vehicle were activated. The vehicle also suddenly stalled at various speeds, causing the contact to turn off and then restart the vehicle several times to regain normal functionality. The brakes also failed intermittently. The vehicle displayed a warning light however, the contact was unsure of the meaning. The failure mileage was unknown due to odometer fraud that was linked with the vehicle. Parts distribution disconnect.
THE BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL SOMETIMES INTERTWINE WITH OTHER BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL AND AS I PRESS ONE BUTTON THE OTHER IS ACTIVATED THAT I DID NOT ENGAGE AT ALL.
BACK LIGHTS ALWAYS GOING OUT NOT WORKING DURING BRAKING, AIR BAG LIGHT WON'T GO OFF, FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T WORK, NOTED RATTLING NOISE UNDER THE FRONT END, ALWAYS HAVING TO REPLACE TIRES.
TAKATA RECALL .ON 2/2/2019 MY CAR STALLED OUT WHY I WAS DRIVING AND WHEN I LIFTED THE HOOD IT'S WAS A ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL WITH SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE MOTOR I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND THE TOW DRIVER ALSO SAID HE SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING. ELECTRICAL WAS BURNING I WAS COMING OFF A MAIN HIGHWAY TO GET AN A CITY STREET HAD A FRIEND CHECK OUT THE STARTER WHICH HE REPLACED, AND I REPLACED IT WITH A NEW BATTERY.AND MY FRIEND SAID THE MOTOR IS LOCKED

IT MAKES NOISE WHEN IN PARK IF YOU MOVE OR SHAKE STEERING WHEEL. THEN OF COURSE IS WORSE WHEN DRIVING. IVE NOTICED IT RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT IT IN FEBUARY 2019. BUT DIDNT REALIZE WHAT IT WAS.

THE DEALER ALSO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR LIGHT BULBS KEEP ON GOING OUT. HAVE CHANGED THEM ABOUT TEN TIMES IN ONE YEAR! I CANNOT CHANGE THEM ANYMORE AS THE PLASTIC CASING HAS MORPHED BY THE HEAT OF THE FUSE CONNECTOR TO THE BULB! THERE ARE TWO BULBS ROLLING IN THE CASING AS THEY CAME OFF WHEN TRYING TO EXTRACT AND REPLACE. ALSO I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY LIGHTS ILLUMINATE ON MY DASHBOARD, EVEN WHEN MY ENGINE WAS KNOCKING DUE TO SHAVINGS IN ENGINE (THAT WAS REPLACED, THANK YOU). LASTLY, HAD TO REPLACE MY SHOCKS AND STRUTS THIS YEAR AND WAS TOLD BY MECHANIC AT BIG O TIRE THAT THEY CONTACTED HYUNDAI DIRECTLY AS THEY RAN INTO AN ISSUE WITH REPLACING WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECT STRUTS. THEY WERE TOLD THIS PARTICULAR CAR WITH ASSOCIATED VIN HAS THE 'GOOFY' STRUTS!!! I'M SORRY BUT I DIDN'T PAY A GOOFY PRICE FOR THE CAR!

HATFIELD HYUNDAI (1400 AUTO MALL PKWY, COLUMBUS, OH 43228, (855) 627-7144) REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN LESS THAN A WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. WHILE AT THE DEALER, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V934000 (ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE), BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,457.
THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN MAKING THIS VIBRATING NOISE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU GET UP TO A SPEED OF 70. IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND THERE IS ALWAYS A CLICKING NOISE WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS GOING TO COME OFF. IF THERE IS A BUMP OR POTHOLE IN THE ROAD IT WILL SHAKE AND JUST CONTINUE SHAKING VIOLENTLY IN YOUR HANDS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND HYUNDAI WANTS TO CHARGE AROUND $400 TO REPLACE A RUBBER PIECE IN THE STEERING WHEEL.

WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH OR MORE, THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL RUBBER COUPLING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V190000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
WAS TOLD ENGINE IS ABOUT DONE. KEPTED UP WITH OIL CHANGES.
"POWER ASSIST RECALL/AIR BAG RECALL" THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING IN MY CAR HAS CREATED A PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE COST TO REPAIR THE CAR IS IN EXCESS OF $1200 NEW AND $600 OR MORE USED. THE ELECTRICAL PANEL IN THE CAR IS NOT COMPLETELY FUNCTIONAL EITHER. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS. THERE HAVE BEEN A TOTAL OF MORE THAN 10 RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR MODEL VEHICLE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR OR PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I INVESTIGATED FURTHER THIS WAS THE LATEST ISSUE LISTED. STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM RECALL SUMMARY: HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 SONATA VEHICLES MANUFACTURED DECEMBER 11, 2009, TO OCTOBER 31, 2010. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPS) CIRCUIT BOARD MAY BE DAMAGED AND RESULT IN A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. IN ADDITION THERE ARE SEVERAL AIR BAG RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING: FRONTAL AIR BAGS, SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS, AND SIDE AIR BAGS ARE DISABLED, THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH THAT NECESSITATES DEPLOYMENT OF THESE SAFETY SYSTEMS.
WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, THE STEERING COLUMN MAKES CLUNKING NOISES. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER FOR RECALL ISSUES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT SINCE WE TOOK THE CAR IN DURING THE INITIAL RECALL AND IT WAS "FIXED" (WE CHALLENGE THAT THE "FIX" WORKED), THAT WE WILL HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED, THAT WE NEED TO HAVE THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. THE ESTIMATE GIVEN ON 1/28/2018 WAS APPROX. $1,900. WE FEEL THAT HYUNDAI IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE BEEN HAVING FOR QUITE SOME TIME, DUE TO THE RECALL. THE NOISE IS VERY OBVIOUS, AND WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN IS GOING TO COMPLETELY BREAK AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM LISTING THE DATE AS TODAY, THOUGH IT HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR WELL OVER A YEAR.

THERE IS A RECALL ON THE "CUPLER" WHICH IS IN THE STEERING WHEEL COMPARTMENT, WHICH I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD FIX BEFORE BRINGING IT IN. WHEN I PICKED THE CAR UP IT WAS NOT FIXED AND WHEN I ASKED WHY NOT, THEY TOLD ME I WAS OVER THE LIMITED MILEAGE BY 1,000 MILES. THEY NOW TELL ME I HAVE TO PAY $300 FOR THAT PART. ALSO, WHEN CHECKED ON THIS WEBSITE ABOUT MY RECALLS IT SAID THEY HAVE ALL BEEN REPAIRED, WHICH IS A COMPLETE LIE. OUT OF THE 20 RECALLS THEY FIXED 2. THE ENGINE AND THE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS AFFECTED BY THE MOTOR ISSUE. I HAVE DEALT WITH THEM IN THE PAST, WITH MY 2003 ELANTRA WHEN I NEEDED A RADIATOR, WHICH I PAID FULL PRICE, BUT THEY NEVER GAVE ME A NEW RADIATOR LIKE THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE PUTTING IN MY CAR. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT MANY VIN#S MIGHT HAVE BEEN MISSED IN THIS RECALL NOTICE. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, THAT RECALL# ONLY INSTALLS TUBING AROUND THE SPRINGS SO THAT IN THE CASE OF SPRING FAILURE(SNAPPING), THE BODY WILL NOT COME IN CONTACT WITH THE WHEELS OR PUNCTURE TIRES. THAT IS, THE RECALL WORK STILL ALLOWS THE SPRINGS TO SNAP. BUT, IS THIS CORRECTIVE ACTION SUFFICIENT FOR A SAFETY RECALL THAT IS THIS SERIOUS IN NATURE? TAKE CAUTION AS MANY 2011 HYUNDAI ELANTRAS AND SONATAS COULD RUN INTO THIS SUDDEN FAILURE.

CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO STATES THE ENGINE IS LOCKED UP. TOLD IT WOULD COST 2900-3500 TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. SINGLE DAD, TWO TODDLERS CANNOT AFFORD THIS. IS THIS SOME SORT OF RECALL? ENGINE AS 125000 MILES AND HAS OIL IN IT. WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS?
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MARCH OF 2018. THEY NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THE 20 PLUS RECALLS THAT WERE NEVER FIXED. I RECENTLY HAD MY ENGINE REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL. I ALSO HAVE ABOUT 20 RECALLS ON THIS CAR THAT WERE NOT FIXED. AFTER MY ENGINE WAS REPLACED THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP CLEARED OUT ALL OF MY RECALLS AS IF THEY WERE FIXED. THEY WERE NOT FIXED OR REPLACED, ONLY THE ENGINE AND FUEL PUMP. THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR OTHER RECALLS ON THE CAR. THEY CHANGED THE WORDING TO "EXTENDED WARRANTY" WHEN THE PART IS ON THE RECALL LIST. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SEEING THEY COMMITED A FRADULENT ACT ON ME IN THE PAST ON ANOTHER CAR I BOUGHT FROM THEM.

BEFORE NOV 6,2018, WE DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH OUR AIR BAG CONTROL SYSTEM. ON NOV 6, 2018, WE TOOK OUR SONATA INTO PARMA HYUNDAI ON BROOKPARK RD IN OHIO AND HAD THEM PERFORM THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT RECALL. THEY SAID IT WAS COMPLETE DESPITE THE NHTSA'S WEBSITE SAYING THE RECALL IS INCOMPLETE. A FEW WEEKS AFTER SAID RECALL WAS COMPLETED BY HYUNDAI OUR AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND HAS STAYED ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO HYUNDAI AND THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT WITHOUT PAYING $100 SOMETHING DIAGNOSIS FEE. WE NEVER HAD ANY AIRBAG ISSUES WITH OUR CAR UNTIL THEY DID THIS RECALL. HYUNDAI COMPLETEING SAID RECALL CAUSED THE REASON FOR THE RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

DRIVING ONE DAY AND STARTED SMELLING GAS. SEEMED LIKE GAS WAS INSIDE THE CAR BECAUSE THE SMELL WAS SO BAD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR WENT BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED COSTING ME OVER $1100.00. I WOULD LIKE RESEARCH DONE TO SEE IF THIS IS INDEED A PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. THE REPLACED MY ENGINE WHEN IT SUDDENLY CUT OFF ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE I WAS GOING 65MPH! THEY PAID FOR THAT REPAIR BUT I STILL FEEL LIKE THIS LAST ONE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE AS WELL. SINCE IT'S BEEN FIXED I STILL HAVE THAT LINGERING ODOR OF FUEL IN MY CAR! I COULD HAVE BLOWN UP IN IT EXCEPT THAT I REFUSED TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I COULD GET IT REPAIRED.

THE TURBO CHARGER STOPS WORKING ANYTIME I QUICKLY STEP DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, RESTART IN ORDER TO RESET THE TURBO CHARGER, OTHERWISE THERE IS NO REASONABLE ENGINE RESPONSE WITHOUT GOING THROUGH THIS PROCESS. TURBO CHARGER MOTOR UNIT WAS REPLACED, BUT THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN ATTEMPTING QUICK LANE CHANGES TO AVOID AN OBSTACLES IN THE ROADWAY.
