TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE SEIZED. IN ORDER TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE RESTARTED MULTIPLE TIMES AS IT CONTINUED TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROUTE 60 HYUNDAI (8575 20TH ST, VERO BEACH, FL 32966, (772) 569-6004) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. **TR CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTUTER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE INCIDENT. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE BUT REFUSED TO ASSIST IN REPLACING THE VEHICLE. THE CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT HEAVILY AFTERWARDS. THE DEALER ASSISTED ME WITH DISCOUNTS TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE AS I NO LONGER TRUSTED THE VEHICLE. MY COMPLAINT IS SOLELY AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER. UPDATED 10/22/18*JB
THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYS ON AS IF PRESSURE IS BEING APPLY TO THEM. CAR BE AT 60 PLUS MILES PER HOURS AND THE CAR COMES TO A SLOW STOP WHILE I'M APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE GAS; HAVING OTHER DRIVERS ALMOST TO HIT ME IN THE BACK.
TAKATA RECALL HAS TAKEN A IMPACT IN MY LIFE BECAUSE KNOWING THAT THE LIGHT OF MY AIR BAG IS FLASHING IT MAKES ME FEEL UNSAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR AROUND. THOUGH MY CAR WAS IN THE BOTCH HYUNDAI SHOP A MONTH BEFORE NO ONE INFORMED ME OF THE TAKATA RECALL THAT IS ON THE CAR. I DONT FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE MY FAMILY AND MY SELF IN A CAR THAT GOD FORBID GET IN A CRASH AND THE AIRBAG WONT DEPLOY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 114-85-200. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.

FRONT DRIVERS SIDE COIL SPRING BROKEN. I WAS NOTIFIED AT FIRST SERVICE AFTER HAVING PURCHASED USED VEHICLE. THE COIL SPRING APPEARS TO HAVE CORRODE FASTER THAN NORMAL WHICH CAUSED COIL SPRING TO BREAK. THIS VIN IS NOT LISTED ON THE CURRENT COIL SPRING RECALL.

I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH AND MY ACCELERATION STARTED TO DECREASE AND I COULD NOT PICK UP SPEED,AS I EXITED OFF THE HIGHWAY I HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE AND MY CAR DIED. I HAD TO CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP NAPLETON HYUNDAI, 649 DUNN RD, HAZELWOOD, MO 63042.
HYUNDAI ANNOUNCED THE MOST RECENT RECALL FOR THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA ON FEBRUARY 27, 2018. TO DATE THERE IS NO ANNOUNCEMENT ON ANY REMEDY. THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE, OR RATHER NOT, IS HYUNDAI BEING TOLD THAT THIS KIND OF DELAY IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY RECALLS ON THIS MODEL.
MY CAR HAS HAD NUMEROUS RECALLS. MOST RECENTLY IT WAS MY STEERING WHEEL THAT WAS CLICKING AND FELT UNSTABLE... SO I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH ENOUGH CARS IN THIS YR/MODEL THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED. I ALSO WAS GETTING JOLTED WHEN I SHIFTED GEARS. EVEN IF I WAS GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE, I COULD BE SPONTANEOUSLY JARRED VERY VIOLENTLY. I HAD THAT REPAIRED AT A OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE AT THE DEALERSHIP. TODAY I SAW EVIDENCE ONLINE THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN A RECALL AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED FOR NO FEE. ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED 2 DAYS AGO, SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THEY SEE NO NECESSARY RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. YET, ONLINE IT SHOWS 1 RECALL ON MY CAR VIN# THAT IS OUTSTANDING BUT HAD "NO REMEDY YET" IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS NOTICE THAT AFFECTS THE AIRBAGS ON FRONT AND SIDE PLUS SEAT BELT RESTRAINING SYSTEM IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION. SO I AM ESSENTIALLY DRIVING A VERY PRETTY COFFIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE COMPUTER COULD NOT READ THE CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,185.
IN JULY 2018 MY WIFE'S ENGINE WENT OUT AND IT WAS UNDER RECALL. SO WE HAD IT REPLACED AT A DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE MOTOR REPLACEMENT, THE STEERING HAS BEEN AN ISSUE. A PART ON THE SHAFT IS APPARENTLY BAD. IT WAS NEVER AN ISSUE TILL DAY 1 WHEN WE GOT THE CAR BACK. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING WAS WRONG. WE HAD JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS WAS A PREVIOUS RECALL ON OUR CAR. BUT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THE MILEAGE WAS PAST THEIR DEADLINE. WE NEVER KNEW OF THE RECALL. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM A LICENSED DEALER. I ASK NOW, WHY WASNT THE CAR FIXED BEFORE MY WIFE BOUGHT IT OR WHY WAS SHE NOT TOLD ABOUT IT? ISN'T A DEALER SUPPOSE TO TELL U THESE THINGS? OR SELLING A CAR THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT. WE JUST DIDN'T KNOW OF PREVIOUS RECALLS. 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA
THIS STARTED IN JULY 2018. AIRBAG LIGHT ON. TOOK TO DEALER SCANNED FOR ERROR FOR FRONT IMPACT SENSOR. RESCANNED TO REPAIR AND NO ERROR CODE SO RESET LIGHT. DROVE LESS THAN 5 MILES AND LIGHT BACK ON. TOOK AGAIN TO DEALER MARCH 2019. SCANNED FOR ERROR FRONT IMPACT SENSOR. ORDERED PART AND REPLACED SO FAR HAVE OVER $400 INVESTED. NEXT DAY RETURNED TO DEALER AS LIGHT BACK ON. RESCANNED NEED TO REPLACESRSCM AIRBAG MODULE ASSEMBLY AT $779 TO FIX MAYBE. FRUSTRATED CONTACTED HYUNDAI OPENED CASE 15629286. BASICALLY WAS TOLD OUT OF WARRANTY SO THEY CAN DO NOTHING,TAKE UP WITH DEALER. SO SINCE THEN AFRAID TO TRANSPORT FRONT PASSENGER SINCE WAS TOLD THAT AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT WITH ALL THE BAD PRESS AND RECALLS REGARDING AIRBAG ISSUES. I HAVE DILIGENTLY KEPT UP WITH THE NUMEROUS RECALLS ON THIS CAR.
I'VE BEEN REPLACING THE LIGHT BULBS IN MY VEHICLE EVERY FEW WEEKS... I'M CONSTANTLY BEING PULLED BY THE POLICE FOR HAVING A BLOWER LIGHT. ALSO, MY LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF.. THE LIGHTS IN THE DASHBOARD AS WELL AS THE LIGHTS OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. MY GAS METER DOESN'T DISPLAY THE CORRECT AMOUNTS OF GAS IT MIGHT SAY 309 UNTIL EMPTY THEN IT WILL SAY 62 UNTIL EMPTY FIVE SECONDS LATER AND IT CONTINUOUSLY CHANGES
SONATA 2011 RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED MORE THAN A YEAR AGO AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE: HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2011 SONATA VEHICLES. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU) MAY SHORT CIRCUIT, PREVENTING THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS, SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS, AND SIDE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING.
IN JULY OF 2108 WE TOOK OUT HYUNDAI SONATA GLS GAS 2.4L TO GRAHAM DEALERSHIP IN MANSFIELD, OH FOR AND ENGINE REPLACEMENT IN RECALL. ONE OF MANY RECALLS FOR THIS CAR. WHEN WE WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR I NOTICED THE STEERING HAS BECOME AN ISSUE. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT THERE BEFORE THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TELL THEM OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT CAUSE IT. WHICH THE STEERING IS UNDER RECALL TO ADD TO THE PROBLEM ALREADY. THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE RECALL SAYING ITS TOO LATE. THIS RECALL IS UNDER THE CAMPAIGN 097 RECALL. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THIS FIXED BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS SUCH AS AN ACCIDENT? I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT ONLINE WITH HYUNDAI BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK. OUR CAR SET AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 1 1/2 MONTHS TO BE FIXED. AS WE ALSO HAVE BRAKES THAT WENT BAD FROM SITTING SO LONG.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V137000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). PUGI HOUND (1866 OGDEN AVE, DOWNERS GROVE, IL 60515, (630) 964-9500) PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIR. AFTER THE REPAIR, WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000. *DT*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V137000 (SEAT BELTS, AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
ENGINE LOCK WITH OIL IN RECALL NOT FIX.
DRIVING CAR AND LOST ALL POWER DIAGNOSIS SHOWED NOTHING BY MY MECHANIC AFTER HYUNDAI TOLD ME CAR VIN NOT ON RECALL DURING ON VACATION ENGINE DIED HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO MY FROM MARYLAND WAS GARAGE SAID ENGINE BEARING BROKE WILL COST ME 7000 TO MY MECHANIC
REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS, ROTORS TWICE WITHIN 2 MONTHS. REPLACING HOSES, CALIPERS, EVEN THOUGH NO SIGN OF LEAK AND CALIPERS EASILY MOVE IN AND OUT. MANUFACTURE PROBLEM/ABS? OUT OF WARRANTY AND DEALER WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.
MY CAR HAS BEEN BLOWING OUT WHITE SMOKE OUT OF THE EXHAUST. I SEEN THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF RECALL ISSUES ON THE HYUNDAI. I GOT A LETTER INFORMING THE RECALL OF THE AIR BAGS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2017. I DONT KNOW IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE ISSUE FIXED ON THE RECALLS ABOUT THE ENGINE, BRAKES, AND SEAT BELTS.

SHAKER'S FAMILY HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 674 STRAITS TURNPIKE, WATERTOWN, CT 06795, (860) 631-4200) WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MOTOR LOCKED UP BECAUSE NO OIL. I HAD OIL CHANGED 2 MONTHS BEFORE AND NO LEAKS ON CARPORT AND OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. SO, I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND IT WENT DEAD AT A RED LIGHT. COULD NOT GET IT TO START BACK UP. HAD TO HAVE IT PUSHED TO AN EMPTY LOT. HAD IT TOWED AND THEY SAID IT HAD NO OIL IN IT THEREFORE IT LOCKED MOTOR UP. WE ARE VERY UPSET BECAUSE THE CAR IS PAID FOR AND WE HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON AND WON'T GO OFF. WE'VE HAD IT IN THE DEALERSHIP AT MINIMUM 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 5 YEARS FOR THIS AND THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT IT, JUST CLEARED THE CODE. CAR HAS NOT BEEN INTO ANY ACCIDENT OR CRASH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SPORT DURST HYUNDAI, 4507 DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL BLVD, DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA, (919) 251-5996) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS LOW. TWO QUARTS OF OIL WERE ADDED AND THE DEALER ALSO WANTED TO CONDUCT AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CASE NUMBER: 11415617 WAS OPENED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,650.
VEHICLE IS HESITANT TO CRANK. I HAVE TO HOLD SWITCH A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT WILL START. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT NEEDS A NEW FUEL PUMP AND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TYPES OF CAR.
TAKATA RECALL - IN 2016 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH TO BE FIXED ON MY CAR. THEY SAID THAT THEY FIXED IT BUT NOW I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS MY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH IS STILL MALFUNCTIONING. MY BRAKE LIGHT STAYS ON THE WHOLE TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING WHICH I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BULBS AS THEY WERE BLOWN AND ONE OF THEM HAD MELTED. AS FAR AS I CAN SEE, IF THIS WAS PROPERLY REPAIRED THEN NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPENING. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY LIFT MY BRAKE PEDAL TO TURN THEM OFF BEFORE I GET OUT OF THE CAR SO THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ON. THIS HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY

PORTER HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 392 E CLEVELAND AVENUE, NEWARK, DE) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
STEERING WHEEL STARTS SHAKING AT ABOUT 50MPH PLUS. I HAVE HAD NEW TIRES, ALIGNEMENT, SHOCKS, ALL OF THIS REPLACED AND THE VIBRATION/SHAKING CONTINUES. THERE SEEM TO BE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS OUT THERE FOR THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AND IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF HYUNDAI SONATA OWNERS. STEERING SYSTEMS SHOULD NOT FAIL ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AND ONE THAT IS MERELY 7 YEARS OLD. MOST PEOPLE TAKE LOANS OUT ON VEHICLES THESE DAYS FOR 6-7 YEARS.

THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PART BECAME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
PERIODICALLY THE POWER STEERING WILL STOP WORKING. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS AT SLOW SPEEDS AND POSTED SPEED LIMITS. I KNOW THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON SOME SONOTAS BUT DEALER STILL REFUSES TO REMEDY PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN MANY INCIDENTS WHERE THERE HAS ALMOST BEEN MAJOR ACCIDENT DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING WHEN OPERATING VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY LIFE THREATENING AND COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF LIFE OR PERMANENT INJURY. WE HAVE DOCUMENTED ALL OCCASIONS SO ACTIONS CAN BE TAKEN IF THAT OCCURS. SIMPLY WANT IT FIXED TO PREVENT SUCH AN INCIDENT. MAYBE THEY DID NOT GET ALL VEHICLES LISTED ON THE FIRST RECALL AS WE CHECKED IF OURS WAS ON IT. HOWEVER IT SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO OUR MODEL AS WELL. HEADLIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS, THEY WILL NOT WORK, PUT IN BRAND NEW BULBS, THEY LIGHT UP FOR ABOUT FIVE MINS. CAR WAS IN MOTION HEADING STRAIGHT ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 MINUTES WHEN IT COMPLETELY DIED CAUSING THE CAR TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A DARK INTERSTATE. ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON RIGHT WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO DIE. THERE WAS NO SHOULDER ON THIS PART OF THE INTERSTATE AND IT WOULD NOT MAKE IT TO THE NEXT EXIT. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ALL THE LIGHTS WERE THEN OFF AND I COULD NOT EVEN TURN ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, NOTHING AT ALL WAS WORKING. I TRIED TO RESTART IT A COUPLE OF TIMES UNTIL I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD THEN I STOPPED BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE. I ENDED UP GETTING IT TOWED OFF THE INTERSTATE TO MY HOUSE. THE 2011 SONATA HAS KNOWN ENGINE PROBLEMS BUT NOT SURE YET IF MINE WAS A RESULT OF THE MOTOR LOCKING UP OR IF IT WAS ELECTRICAL OR PERHAPS BOTH.

WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE CAR BEGAN TO STALL WITH NO PULLING POWER, FOLLOWED BY A KNOCKING NOISE, THEN IT JUST CUT OFF IN MOVING TRAFFIC. TRIED TO RESTART IT, NO LUCK. THERE WAS A SMELL OF BURNING METAL. PUT ON HAZARD SIGNAL. HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT OF TRAFFIC BY ANOTHER DRIVER. CHECKED FLUIDS AND THERE WAS NO OIL FLOW. (WASN'T DUE FOR OIL CHANGE) DIP STICK WAS DRY. THERE WASN'T A INDICATOR LIGHT DISPLAYED ON DASHBOARD FOR LOW OIL. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TEST.( TEST WILL BE DONE ON7/17/18) EARLIEST APPOINTMENT.
TAKATA RECALL: I GOT AN OIL CHANGE ON MAY 25TH AND ON JUNE 24TH (4 WEEKS LATER 1800 MILES) THE CAR COMPLETELY RAN OUT OF OIL AND SEIZED THE ENGINE. NO OIL LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON AND THERE WERE NO LEAKS. NOW THIS IS A $3000 FIX FOR A ENGINE REPLACEMENT.
THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING DOWN A RURAL HIGHWAY (340 STUARTS DRAFT, VA) AT NO MORE THAN 35MPH, NO BUMPS OR JARRING WHEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE AIR BAG SENSOR ON MY CAR WHICH SAID "IF YOUR LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED, PLEASE SEE YOUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP". SO I TOOK THE CAR IN TODAY AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE RECALLED. I ASKED THEM TO TELL ME WHAT IT WOULD COST FOR ME TO REPAIR IT AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO PART, GOOD OR BAD TO PUT IN IT. HYUNDAI TOOK ALL OF THE SENSORS BACK FOR DEFECTS, DIDN'T GIVE REPLACEMENTS AND WILL ONLY "BACK ORDER" A NEW PART UNTIL ONE IS MADE. MY AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED AND WILL FAIL INSPECTION SOON. THEN I'LL HAVE A CAR PAYMENT, FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE AND A CAR THAT I CAN NOT LEGALLY DRIVE. WHEN I ASKED WHAT I SHOULD DO NEXT, THE ANSWER WAS HOPE THERE WAS A FIX BEFORE MY NEXT INSPECTION.

THEN AS I WAS ACCELERATING PULLING FROM MY DRIVE WAY THERE WAS A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. YOU CAN HEAR IT AFTER SLOWING DOWN UNDER 7-10MPH, THEN ACCELERATING AGAIN. NOW YOU CAN HEAR THE KNOCKING NOISE AS THE VEHICLE IS WARMING UP IN THE MORNING. THE NOISE FADES AFTER 10MPH.

AFTER EMAILING THE DIRECTOR OF HYUNDAIS MANUFACTURES, JIM TRAINOR SAYS HE WILL TRY AND HELP ME DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF MY SITUATION AND RELAYING MULTIPLE REPORTS OF MY MODEL CATCHING FIRE (NON-COLLISION) AFTER DENYING MY REQUEST FOR A REFUND AND/OR REPLACEMENT IN RESULT OF A LOANER VEHICLE SINCE NO REMEDY HAS BEEN FOUND LONG AFTER THE NOTICE DESCRIBED ONE BY APRIL 2018. THIS CAN SIMPLY BE RESOLVED IF MATTERS WERE TAKEN SERIOUSLY AS WE ARE TOLD.. THE MANUFACTUERS GET AWAY WITH TOO MUCH. INSTEAD OF BEING GREEDY.. I PURCHASED THIS CAR LAST AUGUST. I HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT HYUNDA SONATAS. YESTERDAY I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AT THE DEALER. AFTER 4 HOURS I WAS TOLD IT CAN'T BE DONE BECAUSE THE STEERING RACK IS OFF CENTER AND STEERING WHEEL COUPLING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ALL FOR A TOTAL OF $1842! NOW I FIND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE COUPLING BUT IT EXPIRED AT 100,000 MILES AND UNFORTUNATLEY MY CAR NOW HAS 100,347.
