TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHAKE SEVERELY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO BECOME VERY LOOSE IN DECEMBER OF 2017 AND PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
WE WERE DRIVING AND THE CAR ENGINE JUST STOPPED IN MOTION IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET. EVERYTHING LOCKED AND WOULD NOT START - LOOKED INSIDE AND THE OIL WAS BLACK (I JUST GOT AN OIL CHANGE, LESS THAN A MONTH AGO). I SPOKE TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID THIS SPECIFIC MODEL HAS MANY ISSUES, SPECIFICALLY EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING. I HAD MY CAR TOWED AND NEED TO GET IT RUNNING ASAP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE). THE DEALER (INTERSTATE HYUNDAI, 609 CONSTITUTION DR., WEST MONROE, LA 71292, (318) 387-2667) WAS CONTACTED BECAUSE THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THERE IS NO REMEDY FOR THE AIR BAGS AND WHEN I CALL HYUNDAI ABOUT THE OTHER RECALLS THEY SAY THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED .. THERE IS ALSO A RECALL ON THE ENGINE SHORT BLOCK ASSEMBLY. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION AND JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND BECASUE OF THE AIRBAG ISSUE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT
THE HORN IS A SAFETY FEATURE AND IT DOESN'T WORK ALL THE TIME. MORE TIMES NOT THAN WORKING PROPERLY. LIVING IN ATLANTA THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.
WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR TURNED OFF AND STARTED TO SMELL LIKE BURNED PLASTIC. THE CAR DID NOT TURNED BACK ON AND HAD IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE.
ENGINE WAS RECALLED IN 2015, THE WARRANTY FOR THE ENGINE RECALLED WAS EXTENDED TO 10 YEARS 120,000 MILE WARRANTY. I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA TURBO 2.0 WITH 146,000 MILES. AFTER LESS THAN A MONTH OF MY SON DRIVING IT THE ENGINE BEGAN STALLING OUT AND SMELLED OF SMOKE. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI TO SEE IF THEY WOULD PERFORM THE INSPECTION AND DO THE REPAIR WORK THEY STATED THEY WOULD NOT SINCE THE CAR EXCEEDED HAD EXCEEDED THE MILEAGE WARRANTY. I AM CURRENTLY HAVING A NEW ENGINE INSTALLED, AND WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE AND SEE IF I CAN GET A REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT COST
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET ON 6/7/2018 AND HAS STAYED ON.
CRACKS ON THE DASH BOARD BECAUSE OF POORLY MADE MATERIALS THAT HYUNDAI FAIL TO FIX I HAVE NEVER SEEN THOS HAPPEN TO ANY OTHER CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING OVER 50 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (HYUNDAI OF AUBURN, 823 OPELIKA RD., AUBURN, AL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL COUPLER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.

THE CONTACT CALLED MAJOR HYUNDAI AT (570) 972-2578 (1534 N 9TH ST, STROUDSBURG, PA 18360) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT NEED SERVICING BECAUSE THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE VIN AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN INFORMATION WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND MY CAR WAS EXCEEDING VERY SLOWLY AND WHEN I REACHED ABOUT 60 IT CUT OFF ON THE INTERSTATE I PULLED OVER TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG PUT THE CAR IN PARKED AND IT STARTED SMOKING. I LET THE CAR COOL DOWN AND NO IT WON'T START AND I'M TRYING TO SEE IF THE ENGINE RECALL HAS BEEN DONE TO MY CAR
I AM APPALLED AT THE CONDITIONS I'VE HAD TO ENDURE WITH MY SONATA. I'VE NEVER SEEN OR OWNED A MORE UNSAFE VEHICLE. MY STEERING COLUMN BROKE, THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED TWICE, I'VE DEALT WITH ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, NOW IT'S INVOLVED IN THE AIRBAG FAILURE RECALL AND I'VE NEEDED TO TAKE MY CAR IN DUE TO THE 13 RECALLS. MY SONATA IS ONE OF THE FIRST MADE. IT'S FROM THE ALABAMA PLANT. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR WHY THE NHTSA HAS NOT MADE HYUNDAI BUY THESE VEHICLES BACK? I DON'T HAVE THE OPTION OF JUST GOING OUT AND BUYING A NEW VEHICLE. I'VE RAISED MY GRANDDAUGHTERS AND AM NOW AFRAID TO TAKE THEM ANYWHERE IN MY CAR. I'M BEGGING THAT YOU MAKE HYUNDAI GET THESE CARS OFF THE ROAD. IT SICKENS ME TO KNOW I'VE OWNED SEVERAL HYUNDAI'S. 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO METAL DEBRIS SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR.*JS
"TAKATA RECALL" AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NEITHER ANY OF FAMILY MEMBERS NOR MYSELF WILL BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL THE REPAIR IS COMPLETE. I HAVE NO VEHICLE THAT I CAN DRIVE AND THE HYUNDAI IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000 MILES ON IT, THE BOLTS AND PLASTIC ASSEMBLY ON THE RIGHT REAR OUTSIDE BRAKE LIGHT HAVE SNAPPED WITHOUT DAMAGE TO ANY OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION, HOWEVER POSSIBILITY OF PROBLEM OCCURRING AT RANDOM MOMENTS MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO OTHER DRIVERS. LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS HELD ON BY A FEW SCREWS/BOLTS AND THE WIRES. ONCE SNAPPED THE WIRES HOLD IT ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COLLISION OCCURRED AS THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS COASTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY; HOWEVER, THE OTHER VEHICLE KEPT DRIVING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. UPON ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT, SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD AND NOTICED A SMALL ENGINE FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CALLED. A LOCAL UNKNOWN HYUNDAI DEALER WAS ALSO CALLED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE ENGINE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE RECALL INFORMATION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
CONTACTED HYUNDAI USA CORP REGARDING RECALL # 10V070000. THIS RECALL CALLS FOR A PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LATCHES NOT LATCHING PROPERLY AND NOT RESPONDING WHEN TRYING TO OPEN OR CLOSE THE LATCH. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEIR RECALL WEBSITE AS WELL AS THEIR AUTOMATIC VOICE RECORDING AT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE DOES NOT HAVE THIS RECALL LISTED AS AN OPEN OR CLOSED CAMPAIGN. THE REP ADVISED HE DOES NOT SEE IT IN THEIR SYSTEM AND HE ALSO REACHED OUT TO HIS SUPERVISOR TO DISCUSSS THE ISSUE. THE REP ADVISED HIS SUPERVISOR STATES SINCE IT IS NOT SHOWING IN THEIR SYSTEM, THEN THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FULFILL THE RECALL ON THE DOOR LOCKS. I ADVISED THE CAMPAIGN OCCURRED DURING PRODUCTION, WHERE PRODUCTION HALTED AND THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM TO THOSE NOT PUT OUT ON THE MARKET AND RECALLED OTHERS THAT WERE ALREADY OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. REP ADVISED SINCE THE CAMPAIGN WAS CLOSED THEY WOULD NOT FULFILL MY REQUEST. I ADVISED THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL CONCERN AND I ASKED TO SPEAK TO SUPERVISOR AND HAVE THEIR NAME BECAUSE I NEED TO REPORT THIS TO THE NHTSA. REP ADVISED THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS SINCE IT IS NO LONGER IN THEIR SYSTEM AND REFUSED TO DO FURTHER RESEARCH. REP HUNG UP ON ME AND CALL ENDED.
TAKATA RECALL - MY DAUGHTER WAS TRAPPED IN THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK NOR WOULD IT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THANK GOD THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT OR LIFE THREATING EVENT GOING ON OR WE WOULD HAVE HAD TO BREAK THE GLASS OUT. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND THE DOOR STILL WON'T UNLOCK OR OPEN. I WAS TOLD THE DOOR ACTUATOR IS FAULTY AND NEEDS REPLACING BUT TO DO THE REPAIR THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS TO BE BROKEN OFF. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND UNFAIR AND VERY UNSAFE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW AND I'VE BEEN TOLD BY DIFFERENT MECHANICS THAT THIS MAY BE THE RESULT OF PROBLEMS IN THE ELECTRICAL STEERING SYSTEM. I'VE CHECKED NUMEROUS BLOGS AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR 2011 HYUNDAI SONATAS.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND EPS LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED RESTARTING CAR STILL NO POWER STEERING AND LIGHTS. THE CAR CAN ONLY BE STEERED MANUALLY NOW WHICH IS NOT SAFE.
AFTER PUTTING GAS IN MY CAR THE GAS GAUGE IS EVERYWHERE. I CAN STOP AND RESTART MY CAR AFTER FILLING IT AND IT WILL SAY I'M EMPTY. WHETHER I'M ACTUALLY DRIVING AT THE MOMENT OR STATIONARY, THE GAUGE WILL CONSTANTLY MOVE UP AND DOWN. I HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON MY MILEAGE TO KNOW HOW MUCH I REALLY HAVE. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I'VE SEEN OTHER STORIES ONLINE OF MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 2011 SONATA WILL NOT GO OFF. I HAVE CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND THEY HAVE INDICATED THIS IS NOT AN OPEN RECALL HOWEVER I CAN NOT DRIVE MY CAR WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS WORKING PROPERLY. STATIONARY, IN MOTION AND ON A STREET AND HIGHWAY. THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH CARLSBAD COUNTY HYUNDAI (5285 CAR COUNTY DR., CARLSBAD, CA 92008). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,900.
ELECTRIC FAILURE AT FIRST, ALWAYS STUCK ON ROAD. ENGINE WAS REPLACED ON RECALL, CLUNKING SOUND UNDERNEATH, STRUTS REPLACED AND HAD TO PAY, THAT DID NOT FIX PROBLEM, THEN THEY REPLACED COUPLING IN STEERING WHEEL, NOISE STILL HAPPENING WITH CLUNKING SOUND, WHICH ALSO IS WEARING OUT TIRES IN FRONT THST WERE REPLACED 3 X. DEALER DID NOT FIX PROBLEM, THEY DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS., CLUNKING IS WHILE DRIVING OVER A LITTLE BUMP OR WHILE STEERING CAR AND TURNING.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AND I WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT.
GOOD AFTERNOON, I AM CONTACTING THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT REGARDING THE RECALL 180 HYUNDAI IS CONDUCTING A SAFETY RECALL IN THE UNITED STATES TO CONFIRM THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE WAS PROPERLY CONNECTED BY HYUNDAI DEALERS TO THE HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP OUTLET WHEN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALLS 132 AND 162. IN COME CASES, DURING THE ENGINE REPLACEMENTS UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGNS 132 AND 162, THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE MAY HAVE DAMAGED, MISALIGNED, OR IMPROPERLY TORQUED DURING THE ENGINE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE, ALLOWING FUEL TO LEAK FROM THE PIPE. HYUNDAI WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE FUEL PIPE, AS NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-855-371-9460. HYUNDAI'S RECALL NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS 180. A PIECE OF ONE OF MY COILS SPRINGS BROKE OFF AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. ACCORDING TO HYUNDAI, MY CAR WAS NOT PART OF CAMPAIGN 133. I LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS. HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2011 SONATA VEHICLES. IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT (ACU) MAY SHORT CIRCUIT, PREVENTING THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS, SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS, AND SIDE AIR BAGS FROM DEPLOYING. IF THE SEAT BELT LINKAGE DETACHES FROM THE SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE, IT CAN NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN THE OCCUPANT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. THERE IS NO FIX, BUT THEY WOULD LIKE TO PUT A STICKER ON MY SEATBELT.....
TAKATA RECALL...I RECEIVED A URGENT RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IN AN ACCIDENT. I MADE MANY CALLS TO MY DEALERSHIP AND TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICES AND ALL I AM TOLD IS "THERE IS NO REMEDY YET". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI SHOULD OFFER CAR RENTALS THAN TO HAVE CUSTOMER'S DRIVE IN A VEHICLE WITH AN UNSAFE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG!
MDPS COUPLING ON STEERING WHEEL BECOMES LOOSE AND AFFECTS THE STEERING AND CAUSES VIBRATION AND A "CLUNKING" NOISE, WHEN IN MOTION ON AN ANY ROAD SURFACE. THIS STARTED AS A MINOR ISSUE WITH A VERY SLIGHT MOVEMENT AND THEN HAS EXPONENTIALLY GOTTEN WORSE. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT HYUNDAI WILL TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE DEFECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED RANDOMLY AND WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE10035 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V190000 (STEERING), 10V457000 (STEERING), AND 10V426000 (STEERING). HYUNDAI OF SLIDELL (298 E HOWZE BEACH RD, SLIDELL, LA 70461, 1 (866) 965-1472) DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE MILEAGE WAS TOO HIGH TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE PER AN UNKNOWN STEERING RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
THERE IS A RECALL SAYING MY AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT MAY NOT WORK IN A CRASH BUT THERE IS NO REMEDY. THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL SINCE FEB 27TH. FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE AND PUNCTURED TIRE. I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY ON TO THE MAIN ROAD WHEN THE SPRING BROKE AND CONTACTED THE TIRE MAKING A HORRENDOUS GRINDING NOISE THE CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER AND I HAD TO STOP IN THE STREET. MY CAR WAS AFFECTED BY A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WAS SEEN BY A DEALER ON MARCH 14, 2016 FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER :15V-629. IT SEEMS THE RECALL WASN'T ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE COIL SPRING FROM FRACTURING A PUNCTURING MY TIRE. I AM GLAD THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE I WAS ON INTERSTATE AT 75MPH.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. I LOOKED UP MY CAR TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IT AND THERE IS BUT THERE WAS NO REMEDY LISTED. CHECKED BACK AGAIN TODAY 5/8/2018 AND THERE STILL ISNT A SOLUTION. HOW LONG IS THIS SUPPOSED TO TAKE?? THIS IS MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND I HAVE 2 YOUNG BOYS. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF TRAVEL THE CAR LOST POWER. BRAKE SPRING HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. PARKED TURNED CAR OFF AND WAS FINE FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN LIGHT CANE ON AGAIN AND CAR LOST POWER. THIS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AS WELL AS TRABELONG AT A LOWER RATE OF SPEED IN THE CITY.
I HAVE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH MY SONATA AS IT RELATES TO BRAKES AND TAIL LIGHTS. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKE STOPPER AS IT WAS MAKING THE CAR RANDOMLY SLOW DOWN IN WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH .. WHEN THIS WAS HAPPENING THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ALSO REMAINED ON IN THE DASHBOARD. I ALSO HAD BRAKE CALIBERS THAT WERE LOCKED IN PLACE ON MY FRONT BRAKES CAUSING AN ISSUE HAVING METAL AGAINST METAL. AT THIS SAME TIME, MY TAIL LIGHTS WERE REMAINING ON EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS OFF. THE STOPPER FIXED THIS ISSUE BUT I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE REAR LIGHT MODULE BECAUSE THE WIRES HAD MELTED TOGETHER THIS TIME IT WAS THE LEFT SIDE. IN OCTOBER I RELAXED THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE REAR LIGHTING MODULE BECAUSE THE WIRES HAD MELTED TOGETHER IN THAT LIGHT TOO! ALL OF THESE REPAIRS TOOK PLACE WITHIN A YEARS TIMEFRAME. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION BUT NOT WITH ME RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT. ALL OF THESE SCENARIOS ARE PRETTY SCARY AND PUT ME AND MY SON AT RISK. NOT TOO MENTION MY CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BECAUS WE HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THE ENGINE OIL IS GOING. THE CAR HAS 140,000 MILES
TAKATA RECALL MY CAUGHT FIRE 4/20/2018, THE SMELL CAME FROM NEAR THE PASSENGER LOWER FOOT AREA, IT WAS A RUBBERY BURNING SMELL THAT QUICKLY BECAME WHITE SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE AREA. THE CAR BEGAN RUNNING VERY ROUGHLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, I DID AN OIL CHANGE. A MONTH LATER THE CAR WAS OVER 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL, WHERE THE OIL WENT I HAVE NO IDEA. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP OVER AND OVER AND OVER FOR VARIOUS ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL AND ENGINE ISSUES. I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION AND FEEL THE CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WHY IS HYUNDAI PERFORMING THE INSPECTIONS ON THESE CARS WHEN CLEARLY THEY ARE THE ONES RESPONSIBLE. THE INPSECTIONS SHOULD BE DONE BY INDEPENDENT MECHANICS THAT WILL BE NON BIASED. MY CAR DOESN'T HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS THAT OPERATE CORRECTLY EITHER THEY WORK SOMETIMES OR NOT AT ALL. IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE CONNECTIVITY OF THE ELECTRICAL WIRING AT THE TIME, I AM TOTALLY NOT SURE. THE CAR JUST BEGAN BEING ABLE TO START WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS JUST STARTED AND THE STOP PAD FOR THE BRAKE RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. IT ISN'T JUST A STOP PAD ISSUE. THE ENTIRE CAR IS AN ELECTRICAL HAZARD WAITING TO HAPPEN I JUST PRAY I AM NOT IN MY CAR WHEN IT CATCHES FIRE AND NO ONE ELSE IS CAUSED ANY ACCIDENT OR INJURY AS A RESULT OF IT.
THE WIRES FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAS MELTED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAKE HOUSING AND ALL OF IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY REPLACE THESE OFTEN BECAUSE OF THIS! THEY WORKED ONE DAY AND THEN WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED ON AGAIN THEY DID NOT. PASSENGER SIDE WENT OUT AND 4 WEEKS LATER THE DRIVERS SIDE DID THE SAME THING.

OVER THE PAST YEAR I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL MY LIGHTS(FRONT, TAIL AND BRAKE LIGHTS) CONSISTENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. WHEN GREASE MONKEY CHANGED THEM RECENTLY, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE WIRING WAS VERY HOT, AND LOOKED MELTED. ISSUE #2- WHEN DRIVING MY CAR WITHOUT NOTICE, MY LIGHTS INSIDE WILL COME ON AS I TURN A CORNER OR HIT A BUMP. I HAVE TO TURN THEM OFF IN ORDER FOR THEM NOT TO COME BY THEMSELVES. ISSUE 3- MY HORN LIKES TO WORK SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIME, IT WILL NOT SOUND. ALL MY FUSES HAVE BEEN CHECKED MANY TIMES, AND NO ISSUE CAN BE FOUND. WHEN I TRY TO OPERATE MY RADIO FROM MY STEERING WILL IT HAVE A MIND OF IT'S OWN. IF I HIT THE VOLUME UP, IT WILL ACTIVATE THE BLUETOOTH CALL. SOMETIMES IF I TRY TO RAISE THE VOLUME TO THE RADIO, IT LOWERS. ISSUE 4- WHEN DRIVING, AND ONCE I TAKE MY KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION, IT'S EXTREMELY HOT. I REALLY FEEL THAT THERE IS A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THIS CAR, AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMETHING SERIOUS HAPPENS.
