THE STEERING WHEEL HAD PLAY IN IT AFTER THE DEALER WORKED ON MY CAR FOR ANOTHER RECALL. IT HAS SINCE GOTTEN WORSE AND MAKES A CLUNK NOISE. I LOOKED IT UP AND THERE WAS AN EXTENDING WARRANTY THAT THEY NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT TILL AFTER I MENTIONED IT AND HAD REACH 100,000 MILES AND MY WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT. WOULDN'T IT BE NICE TO BE INFORMED ABOUT THIS BY MAIL OR THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I REGULARLY TAKE MY CAR FOR OIL CHANGES! THIS VEHICLE HAS MORE RECALLS THAT I CAN'T KEEP UP!
THE FIRST PROBLEM IS ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS WHEN TURNING THE CAR ON WHETHER IT IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, THE HEADLIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY BLINKING OR CUTTING OFF SHORTLY WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING IN DARK. THE PROBLEM MAY BE RELATED TO THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE BATTERY, THE BATTERY ON THIS CAR, 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS, CAN NOT LAST LONG AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO PARASITIC ELECTRICITY IN THIS MODEL AS THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME. IT MIGHT BE CAUSED BY ELECTRICITY DRAINAGE ON THE RADIO PART. THE THIRD COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL IS THE OVERHEATING ENGINE. I REALIZED THE RADIATOR FAN IS NOT WORKING UNTIL I STOP THE CAR, OPEN THE HOOD, AND THEN GIVE THE FAN BLADES A PUSH! ALSO, THE FAN CAN TURN ON BY ITSELF ONLY IF I TURN ON THE AC ON HIGH BLOWING LEVEL.
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED 2.4L. VEHICLE HAS BEEN EATING THROUGH 2 QUARTS OF SYNTHETIC VALVOLINE 5W20 OIL EVERY COUPLE WEEKS. THE DIPSTICK ALWAYS HAS BLACK TAR LIKE OIL ON THE TIP. THERE'S NO LEAKS UNDERNEATH AS I KEEP A PIECE OF CARD BOARD UNDER IT WHILE PARKED. I BEGAN NOTICING THIS AT AROUND 82,000 MILES BECAUSE WHEN GETTING IT CHANGED AROUND EVERY 2500 MILES, THE MECHANIC ALWAYS STATING, "YOUR REALLY LOW ON OIL." SO, NOW I CHECK MY OIL EVERY OTHER DAY.. THE ENGINE HAS BEEN MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. AND, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT AROUND 112,000 MILES. I JUST HAD THE ENGINE RECALL TEST DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP IN TERRE HAUTE, IN. THEY STATED IT PASSED THE INSPECTION TEST AND STILL COULDN'T TELL ME WHY IT GOES THROUGH SO MUCH OIL OR WHY IT'S KNOCKING SO LOUD. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON.. AND, NOW I'M AT 140,000 MILES. ALSO, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER SELONOID LEVER 4 TIMES NOW! IT'S A CHEAP 8 DOLLAR PLASTIC PART THAT KEEPS BREAKING INSIDE THE STARTER. AND, WILL PASS THE STARTER TEST IF U TAKE IT IN. LEFT ME STRANDED EACH TIME. DEALER WANTED $800 TO FIX PLUS TOW FEE.. I DID THE JOB MYSELF INSTEAD.
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED 2.4L. INNER AND OUTER TIE RODS HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES NOW.. NOT SURE WHY. THE DEALERSHIP HAD NO ANSWER EITHER. FIRST TIME REPLACED AT 81,000 MILES, THEN AT 112,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 139,000 MILES. THIS LAST TIME THEY SAID IT WAS READY TO BREAK OFF. ONE WOULD THINK THESE PARTS WOULD LAST LONGER THAN THIS.
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED 2.4L. LEFT BRAKE LIGHT OUT FOR THE FORTH TIME.. BUT, THIS TIME THE NEW BULB REPLACEMENT WOULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAD TO HAVE ALL THE RECALLS FIXED, SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP AN HOUR AWAY IN TERRE HAUTE, IN. THE VERY NEXT DAY. AFTER THEY FIXED ONE OF THE RECALLS THEY HAD TO RESCHEDULE ME FOR THE FOLLOWING DAY TO DO ALL THE REST, AS THEY STATED IT WOULD TAKE MOST OF THE DAY TO DO. SO, THE NEXT DAY MY PARTNER FOLLOWING BEHIND ME NOTICED THAT NOW BOTH MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OUT! WE AGAIN REPORTED THE BRAKE LIGHT SITUATION TO THE DEALERSHIP UPON ARRIVING AT 8AM AND DROPPED OFF THE CAR. AT 5PM THAT DAY WE CALLED TO CHECK ON THEIR PROGRESS AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WERE FINISHING UP ON THE RECALLS BUT THAT THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAD ALL MELTED TOGETHER ON BOTH SIDES! AND, THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX IT UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. UGH.. THEN, QUOTED ME $523.23 TO FIX IT! I'VE READ COUNTLESS PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME ISSUE AND WONDER HOW MANY ACCIDENTS THIS HAS CAUSED. DANGEROUS AND ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! THIS SHOULD BE COVERED IN A RECALL.
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS INVOLVED IN A SEVERE CAR ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY I-64 IN VIRGINIA 6 MILES FROM RICHMOND, VA. MY CAR WAS HIT ON THE REAR-LEFT SIDE, I WAS SENT TO THE ER TO RECEIVE CT AND OTHER EXAMINATION FOR HEAD INJURIES FOLLOWING THE CAR CRASH. THE ADJUSTER AND POLICE AT THE SCENE WERE SURPRISED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IN GEICO CLAIM 0379313090101155
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA W/ 89000 MILES. BOUGHT LESS THAN 2 YRS AGO, CERTIFIED. CAR HAS BEEN MAKING A GROANING AND CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL, ESPECIALLY IN REVERSE. HAD CAR AT DEALERSHIP THIS WEEKEND AND THEY TELL ME THE ENTIRE STEERING SYSTEM IS HOST. NEED A NEW COLUMN, BRACKETS, AND COUPLING. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AN TEAR ON A CAR. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE COUPLING BUT THE REST IS NOT COVERED AND THEY WANT OVER $1000 TO FIX!
ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO METAL DEBRIS THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED DURING MANUFACTURING. LOUD AND IRREGULAR KNOCKING AND SQUEAKING NOISES FROM THE LOWER PORTION OF THE ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 126 IN COLUMBIA SC MY CAR STARTED WITH THIS LOUD NOISE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE HAD TO MOVE OVER QUICKLY TO THE RIGHT LANE WHERE I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE MY CAR CUT OFF. VERY DANGEROUS TO BE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY AND HAVE YOUR CAR OUT OF NO WHERE MAKE A LOUD NOISE BEFORE YOUR CAR COMPLETELY TURNING OFF. ACCORDING TO THE INSPECTOR THE NHTSA ISSUED RECALL 15V568000 MY VEHICLE MANUFACTURED ON 8/27/10 WAS ONE OF THE UNITS THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED. HOWEVER HYUNDAI HAS NO RECORD OF A RECALL FOR MY MODEL YEAR 2011, PLEASE TELL ME WHY MY CAR IS NOT ON A LIST WITH A RECALL? I DO HAVE A COPY OF DOCUMENTATION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING SEIZED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A PARKED VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND SHE SUFFERED A HEAD INJURY, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER. LITHIA HYUNDAI OF ODESSA (5000 JOHN BEN SHEPPERD PKWY, ODESSA, TX) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V426000 (STEERING) WAS RELEVANT TO THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE CONTACTED TWO HYUNDAI DEALERS PLUS HERTZ SALES AND NONE SAY THEY REPLACE/REPAIR TAKATA AIRBAGS IN HYUNDAI SONATAS EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED A POSTCARD SAYING THAT I'M IDENTIFIED AS A CURRENT OWNER OF A VEHICLE WITH A TAKATA MANUFACTURED "PSAN INFLATOR".
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS HESITANT AND THERE WAS EXCESSIVE SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE TAIL PIPE. THE DEALER (CIOCCA HYUNDAI, 550 S WEST END BLVD, QUAKERTOWN, PA 18951, (215) 536-2700) INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN THAT THE OEM DEFECTIVE PART WAS REPLACED WITH THE NEW ENGINE ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AGAIN BY A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING 70MPH ON INTERSTATE 126.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN DRIFTING TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT COULD NOT RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC'S AUTO SHOP. HERITAGE HYUNDAI TOWSON IN TOWSON, MARYLAND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS CONTESTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS INDEED OIL IN THE VEHICLE. THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,097.

THE BELT LATCH DENTED THE DRIVER'S DOOR SENSOR AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THE SENSOR INDICATED THAT THE DOOR WAS AJAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (TORRINGTON HYUNDAI, 1446 E MAIN ST, TORRINGTON, CT 06790), BUT THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I HAVE REPLACED MORE BULBS THAN I CAN COUNT ON MY CAR, HEADLIGHTS, BRIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, IT SEEMS LIKE I HAVE REPLACED A LIGHT EVERY WEEK JUST ABOUT, LONG WITH MY LIGHTS RANDOMLY CUTTING ON/OFF, FLASHING, BLINKING, NOT WORKING AT ALL. MY HORN ALSO WILL SOMETIMES GO OFF UNCONTROLLABLY SOMETIMES WHEN MY KEYS ARE NOT EVEN IN THE CAR. MY BATTERY IS CONSTANTLY DEAD. THESE ARE HUGE SAFETY ISSUES AND HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF BUY THE DEALERSHIP EVERY TIME I HAVE TRIED TO GET THE ISSUE FIXED. HAVE HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS FOR THESE ISSUES AND EACH TIME THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE. I HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER SEVERAL TIMES FOR LIGHTS BEING OUT AND HAVE BEEN STRANDED AT NIGHT BECAUSE OF NO HEADLIGHTS. SEEMS TO BE A HUGE ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND I HAVE BEEN TREATED RUDE AND MADE TO FEEL STUPID EVERY TIME I HAVE CONTACTED HYUNDAI ABOUT THE ISSUE.
STEERING WHEEL COUPLING. I HAVE HAD A CLICKING/CLUNKING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN FOR A WHILE NOW. OVER 55 MPH, IT IS CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO SHAKE PROFUSELY. I SEE OTHERS HAVE ENTERED COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ON THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF MY CAR. THIS IS SUCH A WIDESPREAD, WELL KNOWN ISSUE, HOW IN THE WORLD IS THERE NOT A RECALL FOR THIS CHEAP PART? IS IT GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE DYING WHILE DRIVING FOR THIS TO BE A RECALL CAMPAIGN? THE NHTSA REALLY NEEDS TO STEP IN AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS WIDESPREAD ISSUE.
THE GEAR SHIFT GETS STUCK IN PARK HAVE TO TURN CAR OFF, RESTART IT FOR THE GEAR TO WORK, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING,STEERING COLUMN IS CLICKING ALSO.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND/OR IN REVERSE, THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,505.
I HAD A WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON MY DISPLAY AND WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CHARGED ME 240$ FOR THE REPAIR. NOW I SEE THAT THE PART THEY REPLACED WAS ON THE RECALL CAMPAIGN WHICH STARTED 4 MONTHS PRIOR TO MY SERVICING. ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO CHARGE FOR THE PARTS WHICH ARE IN THE RECALL?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING AND MADE AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,875.
THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING IS PLASTIC MOLDED OVER A STEEL (METAL) CORE. WHERE THE HOUSING IS BOLTED TO THE ENGINE OVER THE INPUT AND OUTPUT COOLANT ORIFICES AN INTERNAL PIECE OF PLASTIC FLAKED OFF THE STEEL CORE BEHIND THE GASKET SURROUNDING THE INPUT ORIFICE. AT REST NO COOLANT LEAKED OUT OF THE COOLING SYSTEM. HOWEVER, AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE AND PRESSURE, THE COOLANT SPRAYED OUT OF THE ENGINE IN A FINE MIST/SPRAY. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS AN ODOR OF COOLANT WHILE DRIVING, ALL SEARCHES AROUND THE HEATER CORE, UNDER VEHICLE RESULTED IN NO EVIDENCE OF COOLANT LEAK. ON AN EXTENDED TRIP AT 103,000 MILES ENOUGH COOLANT EVACUATED THE COOLING SYSTEM TO FACILITATE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. YET THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATING OVERHEATING. THE BLOWN GASKET WAS DISCOVERED WHEN THERE WAS A SOUND OF GURGLING LIQUIDS ORIGINATING FROM THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WHEN WE REACHED OUR DESTINATION, A THICK SLUDGE OF COOLANT AND OIL PERMEATED THROUGHOUT THE ENGINE, HEATER CORE, THROTTLE BODY AND RADIATOR. IT WAS DURING REPAIRS THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING WAS FOUND TO HAVE THE INTERIOR DAMAGE. IF WE HAD BEEN DRIVING 30 MILES FURTHER THAN WE DID, THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE SEIZED AT HIGHWAY SPEED, UNDOUBTEDLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THANK GOD WE STOPPED WHEN WE DID.
CAR STOPPED AND TURNED OFF ON THE HIGHWAY. ALL WARNING LIGHTS LIT THEN WENT OFF AND CAR STOPPED. IT STALLED 3 TIMES BEFORE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER MADE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE ON MY WAY HOME SAME DAY IT LIT UP AGAIN I PULLED OVER AND IT STAYED RUNNING.
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC, ENGINE SEIZED WHILE IN MOTION THERE WAS ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO PULL OVER TO SAFETY, HOWEVER, THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO START SINCE. TWO MASTER MECHANICS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AFTER RUNNING DIAGNOSTICS. THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEFORE OR AFTER CAR SEIZED. ELECTRICAL POWER INTACT; NOT A BATTERY ISSUE.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT 25 MILES INTO MY DRIVE HOME FROM WORK STARTED HEARING A FAINT NOISE KIND OF LIKE AN EXHAUST LEAK. WITHIN 2 MILES IT WAS GETTING LOUDER SO I STARTED THINKING MY EXHAUST WAS DISCONNECTED OR SOMETHING. I GET OUT OF THE CAR AND SEE JUST A LITTLE SMOKE FROM THE HOOD. WITHIN A MINUTE I NOTICED THERE WAS MORE SMOKE SO I LOOKED AT THE FRONT GRILL AND SAW SMALL FLAMES. CALLED 911 BUT TOOK THEM OVER 10 MINUTES TO GET THERE SO CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. CAR HAD 98500 MILES AND SHOWED NO SIGNS ON ANY ISSUES. I HAD ALL THE RECALLS DONE AND HYUNDAI PASSED THE CAR FOR A RECALL THAT CAUSED ENGINE ISSUES AND FIRES. HYUNDAI HAS AN OPEN INVESTATION AND I AM WORKING WITH THEM. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL THEY HAVE A MAJOR ISSUE AND MOST OF THESE CARS HAVE THE ISSUE RIGHT AROUND THE 100K MARK. I FEEL THIS JUST MIGHT KEEP HAPPENING AND HYUNDAI REALLY SHOULD DO SOMETHING MORE TO FIX THIS ISSUE.
I HAVE A 2011 SONATA THAT WAS BUILT AUG. 9, 2010. THE RECALL #133 ONLY COVERS SONATAS PRODUCED FROM DEC 11, 2009 TO FEB 28, 2010. THE FRONT COIL SPRING HAS FRACTURED EXACTLY LIKE THOSE IN THE RECALL. IT HAS FRACTURED NEAR THE BASE WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I TOOK IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED. THIS IS CRAZY, ITS THE SAME PROBLEM OF THE RECALL. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED BECAUSE I SEE ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE MANY OTHERS AROUND THE SAME TIME FRAME THAT HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND THEY ARE NOT TAKING CARE OF IT. A FRACTURED SPRING CAN MAKE CONTACT WITH THE TIRE, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A TIRE PUNCTURE AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OF THE RECALL, BECAUSE IT IS BUILT A FEW MONTHS LATER, HYUNDAI SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED, THERE ARE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY JERKED TO THE RIGHT AND CLIPPED A SEMI TRUCK. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS PULLED UNDER THE SEMI AND DRAGGED FOR 100 YARDS. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE ESC AND TPMS INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
BROUGHT CAR IN TO EMPIRE HYUNDAI FOR AIR BAG LIGHT AND MY RECALL PAPER. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $115 TO CHECK IT OUT IF IT'S NOT THE CLOCK SPRING. THE RECALL PAPER SAYS, I WILL NOT BE CHARGED REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR OVER A YEAR AND THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS. IT REMAINS ON AND NEVER GOES OUT.

I WAS NOTIFIED THAT I HAVE FAULTY AIRBAGS IN MY CAR AND I SHOULD CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL GET THEM. FAULTY AIRBAGS IS VERY SERIOUS AND WITH WINTER APPROACHING THERE IS A GREATER CHANCE FOR AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THERE IS NO SOLUTION FOR THE RECALL OF THE SEAT BELTS. I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR WITH THE THOUGHT I WOULD NOT BE PROTECTED FROM IMPACT.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR ON SATURDAY I CAME TO A STOP AND THEN NOTICE AFTER HITTING MY BRAKES MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. THIS CAN BE SCARY THAT I DON'T KNOW IF MY AIRBAGS ARE GOING TO COME OUT ANYTIME WHILE I'M DRIVING OR HITTING MY BRAKES FOR NO REASON.
AIRBAG WARNING ON DASHBOARD, STEERING WHEEL COMPONENTS SUCH AS VOLUME, CRUISE CONTROL, RESET MILEAGE AND THE REST OF THE TABS DO NOT FUNCTION ON THE STEERING WHEEL, REAR LEFT SIDE BRAKE LIGHT BULB HAS TO BE REPLACED EVERY FOUR MONTHS, FRONT RIGHT SIDE/DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD LIGHT BULB WONT' COME ON AFTER REPLACING THE LIGHT BULB, INSIDE THE CAB THE ABOVE NIGHT/PASSENGER AND REAR GUEST LIGHTS WON'T COME ON, AFTER AN OVERALL TUNE UP SUCH AS OIL, FILTERS, LIQUIDS AND PLUGS THE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON FOR TWO DAYS/48 HOURS. THE VEHICLE ENGINE STARTS AND RUNS NORMAL EVERY DAY. THE PROBLEM IS MORE ELECTRICAL BY THE ABOVE INFORMATION. THE LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WOULD LIKE FOR US TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN TO CHECK FOR THE PROBLEM. ABOUT A YEAR AGO OR LESS WE HAD A VEHICLE RECALL ON TWO SPECIFIC ITEMS. AFTER TAKING OUR VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE ABOUT THE TWO RECALLS. ONE OF THE RECALLS WAS LOOKED INTO AND FIXED. THE SECOND RECALL WAS NEVER FIXED AND THE CAR ENGINE WAS RUNNING IN THE WORST MANNER, THE ENGINE WOULD RUN AND STALL, AT A STOP LIGHT WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, THE ENGINE WOULD MISFIRE. WE WERE AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANTED US TO LEAVE OUR VEHICLE SO THAT IT COULD BE CHECKED BY THEIR TECHNICIANS WHILE IN THE PROCESS WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM OR VEHICLE MISFIRING/STALLING OF THE ENGINE. WE CALLED THE 888-327-4236 FOR ASSISTANCE AND OUR PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. BY HAVING YOUR GROUP CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVING OUR SECOND VEHICLE RECALL FIXED AND SOLVED. ON 10/24/2017, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING SOME RECALL ISSUES, AMONGST WHICH WAS THE ISSUE OF THE CAR MAKING CLICKING NOISE AS THE CAR TURNS. AFTER THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO ME, AND DRIVING IT, I NOTICED THAT THE ISSUE WAS UNRESOLVED. I MADE THIS KNOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. I DID REPORT THIS TO HYUNDAI USA. IT'S BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS NOW,BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM REGARDING THE COMPLAINTS. I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF OTHER RECALL ISSUES SINCE THEN, BUT NOT SURE HOW TO GO ABOUT THEM, AS THE FIRST ISSUE REMAINS UNRESOLVED.
I AM UNABLE TO REMOVE MY KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WILL START WITH NO PROBLEM BUT THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. I CURRENTLY LEAVE MY KEY IN THE ACC POSITION WHEN PARKED. IT WILL NOT LOCK.
CRUISE CONTROL FAILS TO DISENGAGE BY REPEATEDLY AND FIRMLY DEPRESSING THE CANCEL SWITCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL. CRUISE CONTROL MUST BE DISENGAGED BY MANUALLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. UPON HARSHLY HITTING THE WHEEL IN THE GENERAL PROXIMITY OF THE SWITCH IT WILL SOMETIMES BEGIN TO WORK AGAIN RANDOMLY, OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT FUNCTION AT ALL.
GAS GAUGE GOES FROM EMPTY TO FULL BACK TO EMPTY AND IT CONTINUES TO DO SO. I HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS AND IT SAYS IT'S EMPTY. THE LIGHT COMES ON AND EVEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES AWAY. IT HAPPENS IN PARK OR WHILE I'M DRIVING. STREETS OR HIGHWAY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY ROAD AND LOST ALL CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE WHILE TURNING LEFT INTO TRAFFIC. THERE WAS A LOUD MECHANICAL SOUND AS I TURNED, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON IN THE DASH, AND NEITHER MY BRAKES NOR MY STEERING WOULD ENGAGE. THE BRAKES KICKED BACK ON, BUT I HAD TO FORCE THE WHEEL THROUGH LOUD POPPING AND CRACKING AND A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A REGULAR MECHANIC WHERE THEY FOUND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST HAD FAILED. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST HAD JUST BEEN REPLACED 7 MONTHS PRIOR DUE TO A RECALL, BECAUSE OF THIS SAME PROBLEM (CAMPAIGN 143). WHEN THE MECHANIC CALLED AND ASKED THE HYUNDAI DEALER IF THERE WAS COVERAGE TO REPLACE THIS PART, THEY SAID NO. I HAD TO PAY $900 TO THE OTHER MECHANIC FOR A REPLACEMENT AND THE TOW AND WENT WITHOUT A CAR FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS. THE RECALL PLACED A DEFECTIVE PART IN MY CAR, THEN MADE ME PAY TO REPLACE IT.
THE BATTERY DIES EVERY NIGHT. I CUT OFF ALL THE LIGHTS, THE RADIO, AND ETC. YET I CONTINUOUSLY WAKE UP TO A DEAD BATTERY! SOMETHING IS DRAINING MY BATTERY.
FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS, MY STEERING COLUMN SHAKES AND RATTLES ANYTIME IT GOES OVER 60 MPH. I HAD A TIRE REPAIR AT A LOCAL SHOP AND THE GUY SUGGESTED I MAY NEED AN ALIGNMENT BUT BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME AT THE LAST MINUTE OF PICKING MY CAR UP AT THEIR CLOSING HOURS AND HAVING TO GO TO WORK, I WAITED TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER FOR ONE RECALL CAMPAIGN AND ASKED THEM TO ASSESS THE ISSUE WITH MY STEERING WHEEL RATTLING AND MENTIONED THE GUY AT THE OTHER PLACE MENTIONED AN ALIGNMENT.THE GUY DISMISSED THE CAR SYMPTOMS I DESCRIBED AND SAID THE NOISE WAS FROM THE BOTTOM SPOILER HANGING. IT WASN'T ASSESSED AND I TOOK IT TO A GOODYEAR AFFILIATE AND THEY NEEDED MORE TIME TO ASSESS WHY IT WAS THE STEERING BUT WERE ABLE TO TELL ME IN FACT THAT IT WAS POTENTIALLY LOOSE. BETWEEN OCTOBER 2017 AND JAN 2018 IS HOW LONG PEOPLE HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT IT WITH NO ASSISTANCE

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE SEIZED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD ALREADY BEEN SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE), ALTHOUGH THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NEVER BEEN SERVICED FOR THAT RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
AIR BAGS LIGHT TURNED ON ALL OF A SUDDEN AND STAYED ON. NEVER HAD ANY ACCIDENT.
THIS VEHICLE IS BURNING A QT OF OIL EVERY 500 MILES! I HAVE HAD THE ENGINE RECALL DONE WITH NO ISSUES BUT OIL IS STILL DISAPPEARING. THERE ARE NO PUDDLES NOR ANY ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENGINE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND AFTER ALL THE RECALLS AND REPAIRS I'VE DUMPED INTO THIS CAR, I WISH I HADN'T BOUGHT IT.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WITH NO REASON. I DID NOT HIT MY CAR, NOR GOT INTO ANY ACCIDENT AT ALL. I TOOK TO DEALERSHIP WHO CHARGED ME $165.00 FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND ADVISED THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG MODULE / SENSOR IS BAD AND WILL COST $980.00 IF I WANTED TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM TK HOLDING THAT STATES MY CAR IS PART OF THE AIRBAG FIX / RECALL BUT DEALER REFUSES TO FIX WITHOUT ALMOST THOUSAND DOLLAR.
A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING AT 70-80 MPH. THE FIRST WARNING WAS SUDDEN ENGINE NOISE, A LOUD TICKING OR KNOCKING SOUND. THIS WAS SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY THE OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATING, THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT, AND THEN ENGINE SEIZURE (RPM DROPPED TO 0). AS I WAS PULLING TO THE SIDE, SMOKE BEGAN BILLOWING THROUGH THE VENTS. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE I REALIZED THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS WELL MAINTAINED WITH NO PRIOR WARNING. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT WITH GATORADE FROM AN OBSERVER WHO PULLED OVER.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, HYUNDAI DEALER INSPECTED AND SAID REPLACEMENT WAS REQUIRED AT A COST TO ME OF APPT $ 1,200.00.
MY ENGINE IS KNOCKING AND CONSUMING OIL. IT WORSENS WITH INCREASED RPM. SOMETHING SOUNDS WRONG IN THE ENGINE AND IT HAS A HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION RATE YET THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF OIL LEAK UNDER VEHICLE. THE DEALER DOES ALL SERVICE, ITS UNDER WARRANTY AND YET THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN CARE OF THE PROBLEM THOUGH THEY HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. I AM AFRAID I WILL HAVE A TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE AND PUT MY SAFETY AT RISK EITHER FROM A CRASH OR BEING STRANDED IN A DESERTED AREA.....ALSO HYUNDAI CHARGED ME LAST YEAR TO REPLACE A COUPLING IN THE STEERING WHICH WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE AND YET THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THIS COUPLING. CLICKING NOISES AND VIBRATIONS FROM STEERING WHILE TURNING. HYUNDAI STATES IT KNOWS IT'S A KNOW PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING COUPLER.
WHILE DRIVING, I NOTICED A RED LIGHT FLICKERING ON AND OFF ON MY DASHBOARD. I NOTICED THAT IT WAS THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT. IT NOW STAYS ON CONSTANTLY, WHETHER IN MOTION OR NOT. NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS, AS MY AIRBAG HAS NEVER BEEN DEPLOYED. I AM AFRAID OF IT DEPLOYING WHILE DRIVING, BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD NOT FROM ONE OF THE HYUNDAI DEALER SERVICE REPS. IT WILL COST $112 JUST FOR A DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM.
