THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE HEAD WAS CRACKED AND CAUSED COOLANT TO LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CLOCK SPRING. WAS ALSO TOLD UNTIL FIXED THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A RATTLING AND CLICKING NOISE, AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WORLD HYUNDAI AT MATTESON (5337 MILLER CIR DR, MATTESON, IL 60443), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING COUPLING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TAKATA RECALL. MY HYUNDAI SONATA COMPLETELY DIED ON ME WITHOUT ANY WARNING. ONE DAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA ON THE HIGHWAY ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON. NEXT THINNG I KNOW THE CAR CUT OFF WHILE I WAS DOING 65 MPH WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR STOPPED. LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND MANAGED TO MAKE IT SAFELY. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I CUT THE VEHICLE ON I STARTED HEARING A KNOCKING SOUND FROM THE VEHICLE. ON MY WAY TO WORK THE CAR CUT OFF TWO MORE TIMES AND WHEN I TRIED TO CUT IT ON AGAIN IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO HYUNDAI AND I WAS GIVEN THE COMPLETE RUN AROUND ABOUT REPARING MY VEHICLE. I INFORMED THE MANAGER J THAT I HAD A RECALL ON THE ENGINE AND HE SAID NO WORK IS GOING TO BE DONE WITHOUT HYUNDAIS APPROVAL. SO NOW IM STUCK HERE WITH NO CAR TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WAYS TO GO TO WORK EVERYDAY AND SCHOOL AND TRANSPORT MY KID TO AND FROM SCHOOL. IM AWAITING TO SEE WHETHER HYUNDAI WILL HONOR ITS RECALL AND FIX MY CAR. IM A VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER AND LOST ALL TRUST I HAD IN MY VEHICLE.
KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD
MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA STARTED HAVING A TERRIBLE KNOCKING NOISE WHILE ACCELLERATING ON JUNE 3, 2017, AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO OUR LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP, BAKERSFIELD HYUNDAI, FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY. I BELIEVE THAT THE ISSUE IS MOST LIKELY RELATED TO RECALL 132/TXX3. WHAT HAS ME FRUSTRATED IS THAT I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR INSPECTION WHEN FIRST NOTIFIED OF THE ENGINE ISSUES. AT THAT TIME, MY CAR HAD ABOUT 90,000 MILES AND HYUNDAI CLAIMED NO ISSUES WERE FOUND. BASED UPON MY CAR'S CURRENT CONDITION AT 116,000 MILES, I BELIEVE THAT THE ISSUE WAS ALWAYS THERE, JUST NOT IDENTIFIED BY HYUNDAI CORRECTLY. THIS PLACED ALL DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS IN MY HOUSEHOLD AT CONSIDERABLE RISK. IN FACT, THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN THE PRIMARY VEHICLE OF MY TEENAGE SON! AS A NEW DRIVER, HE WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO IF THE ENGINE COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED! I HAVE ALSO HAD TO MISS TIME FROM WORK AND HAD TO PAY $54 FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TOWED. ALL OF WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF HYUNDAI HAD BEEN MORE PROACTIVE ABOUT REPLACING THE ENGINES. NOW THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE ENGINES ARE ON BACKORDER FOR UP TO 9 WEEKS! THE SAID THAT I MAY QUALIFY FOR A RENTAL, BUT I DOUBT THAT MY TEENAGE SON, WHO DRIVES THE CAR TO SCHOOL, SPORT ACTIVITIES AND WORK WILL BE ABLE TO USE A RENTAL SINCE HE IS UNDER 18. HYUNDAI HAS KNOWN OF THE NEED TO REPLACE THESE ENGINES AND SHOULD HAVE INCREASED MANUFACTURING REPLACEMENTS AS SOON AS THEY BECAME AWARE OF THE ISSUES. I AM ALSO WONDERING WHAT GUARANTEES WILL BE IN PLACE WITH THE NEW ENGINE BLOCK.
AIRBAG AND ENGINE LIGHT ON
AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON, AND PASSENGER DASHBOARD CRACKED.
I HAVE NOTICED EXCESS CLICK IN THE STEERING COLUMN WHEN TURNING OR RIDING OVER BUMPS IN THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL GIVES A SLIGHT RESISTANCE WHEN THE NOISE IS PRESENT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHEN MANEUVERING THE WHEEL WHEN PARKING. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN PERSISTENT SINCE JUNE OF 2017.
MY STEERING WHEEL MAKES A CLICKING SOUND WHEN I TURN IT AND WHEN EVER I GO OVER BUMPS. I RECEIVED A SAFETY NOTICE IN THE MAIL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SO I TOOK IT TO GLENDORA HYUNDAI WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SAFETY NOTICE IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM!
HYUNDAI SONATA 2011 TROUBLE WITH THE PUSH START SYSTEM. BRAKE GETS HARD AND IS UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE STARTING SYSTEM. CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT KNOW WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO PUSH START THE VEHICLE. PUSH BRAKE DOWN AND TRY TO START THE VEHICLE BUT IT DOESN'T RECOGNIZE YOU'RE DOING IT BECAUSE THE BRAKE IT SO HARD IT WON'T PRESS DOWN. MAJOR PROBLEM!! PLEASE HELP..IF YOU SHUT IT OFF IT TAKE UP TO 30MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN
TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE RECALLS LISTED ARE FOR MY CAR. SOME I WAS INFORMED OF AND SOME I WAS NOT. REFERENCE #'S: 16V190000, 15V759000, 15V62000,15V568000, 14V33000, 13V113000, 13V113000, 10V457000, 10V070000. ONCE I WAS FULLY AWARE I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP NEAR ME. THEY SAID THEY FIXED EVERYTHING BUT I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. TO DATE: I HAVE HAD TIMES WHEN I DO NOT HAVE FULL CONTROL( OR IT JUST WILL NOT DO WHAT I WANT) OF THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO THINGS WHICH HAS DAMAGED THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AND THE RIMS ( THANKFULLY SO FAR NOTHING MORE SERIOUS)/MY SEATBELT BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, JUST CAME OFF. MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE A DISASTER THEY EITHER STAY ON (WHICH HAS DRAINED MY BATTERY TO THE POINT I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE IT ) OR THEY DO NOT COME ON AT ALL WHICH HAS GIVEN ME A FEW SCARY MOMENTS BECAUSE I BRAKE AND THE PERSON BEHIND ME DOES NOT REALIZE I AM STOPPING. IF I DO NOT PUT THE PARKING BREAK ON EVERY TIME I PARK THE CAR WILL ROLL EVEN ON A FLAT SURFACE. I SOMETIMES HAVE ISSUES WITH GETTING THE CAR TO STAY LOCKED AS IT WILL SOMETIMES UNLOCK ITSELF MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW. THE DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME FOR SOME REPAIRS RELATED TO THESE RECALLS THOUGH AS I UNDERSTAND IT THEY ARE TO FIX THEM AT NO CHARGE. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND I AM ALWAYS TOLD THAT THE PERSON I NEED TO SPEAK WITH IS NOT THERE. THEY THEN TAKE A MESSAGE BUT TO DATE NO ONE HAS RETURNED A SINGLE CALL. I HAVE HAD OTHER MECHANICS ( NOT WORKING FOR HYUNDAI) LOOK AT THE CAR AS WELL AS HAVE OTHER PEOPLE DRIVE MY CAR ( THEY ALL CONFIRM THAT THEY HAVE ISSUES SUCH AS ABOVE WHEN DRIVING AS WELL) I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME WITH THESE ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 91W, VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE A VERY LOUD RATTLING NOISE FROM ENGINE. ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTING BEGAN TO FLASH, THEN VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I MANAGED TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY SECTION OF HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS TURNED ON BUT NOT THE ENGINE. I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY, CALLED TOWING SERVICE, & WHILE SPEAKING TO THE AGENT I NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE ENGINE AND THEN FROM INSIDE DASHBOARD. FIRE FLAMES THEN IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO COME OUT FROM THE FRONT DRIVER-SIDE ENGINE. I EXITED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, CROSSED THE RAMP LANE, & WATCHED THE ENTIRE FRONT END VEHICLE COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF CHP.
THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTS LOSING POWER AND A READY SIGN STARTS BLINKING, TWO TIMES IT WORKED TO SHUT IT OFF AND BACK ON, LAST TIME IT DIDN'T WORK AND I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE
START THE CAR AND GEAR APPEARS ON THE SHIFTER AND THE DASH. WHILE REVERSING FROM PARKING SPACE, GEAR EITHER SLIPS OR LURCHES, THEN GEAR INDICATOR IN THE SHIFTER DISAPPEARS, AS WELL AS GEAR INDICATOR ON THE DASH. THE CAR IS HESITANT TO ACCELERATE, AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL. SHUTTING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING, EVERYTHING RETURNS TO NORMAL. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY, AND HAS OCCURRED FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST WEEK. ATTACHED PICTURE OF DASH INDICATOR AND GEAR SHIFTER SHOWS THAT THE CAR IS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 18 MPH, BUT GEAR IS NOT INDICATED ON THE DASH OR GEAR SHIFTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING IN THE CENTER LANE AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING ABILITY SEIZED AND IT BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING AND SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON, VEHICLE WAS UNDER NORMAL USE CONDITIONS.
THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS NEED TO BE REPLACED CONSTANTLY AND HAVE GOTTEN SO HOT AS TO MELT THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES.
STEERING WHEEL / STEERING COUPLER. STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE AND RATTLE WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP( ALL THE TIME) OR HIT A CERTAIN SPEED OR DRIVING ON A FREEWAY.
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED PROBLEM WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR-TO-SHAFT COUPLING WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. HAVE RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY NOTICE BUT IT HAS ALREADY EXPIRED. ISSUE NOTICED PRIOR TO 100K MILES. DEALER SAID $400 BUT NO SAFETY ISSUE. NOW THEY WILL FIX IT BUT IT IS PAST THE 100K EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A NO-COST RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ENGINE MALFUNCTIONED AND THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE WITHIN THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER COMPLETELY. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WITHNELL HYUNDAI OF SALEM, OREGON, WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) WAS PERFORMED; HOWEVER, THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT COMPLETED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEPARD'S HYUNDAI OF EUGENE, OREGON WHERE THE OIL PAN WAS TESTED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT METAL SHAVINGS WERE DEPOSITED IN THE ENGINE OIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE DUE TO THE CONTACT'S RECONSTRUCTED TITLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,900.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH A BRAND NEW ENGINE IN APRIL OF 2016, BUT THE ENGINE FAILED AGAIN ON MAY 9, 2016. THE MANUFACTURER DECLINED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. STEERING VIBRATES AND BECOMES ERRATIC WHEN CHANGING LANES OR OVER GRAVEL/ROUGH ROADS. DEALER TELLS ME IT IS A FUNCTION OF THE SPEED CONTROLLED DEVICE, APPEARS TO BE CONTROLLED BY COMPUTER. SPEED UP OR DWN TRIGGERS VIOLENT SHAKING. *TR
WHEN TURNING THERE IS CLICKING "THUDS" AND "CLICKING" SOUND WHEN MOVING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME. I CHECKED ON OTHER FORUMS, A LOT OF USERS WITH SONATA ARE FACING THIS ISSUE.
I OWN A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA SE 2.4 LITER SEDAN WHICH I PURCHASED IN MARCH 2011. I HAVE ENCOUNTERED NO ISSUES WITH ENGINE STALLING OR HESITATION. ON SUNDAY, 05/07/17, WITHOUT WARNING, THE VEHICLE (MILEAGE 57,880) WOULD NOT START. THE NEXT DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM MY DRIVEWAY TO THE PEARSON HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR A $109 DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION. TUESDAY MORNING TROY, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN, CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT THE CAR NEEDED A STARTER. THE COST FOR PARTS AND LABOR WOULD BE $650/NEW OR $250/REBUILT. I READ NUMEROUS FORUMS WHERE CONSUMERS REFERENCE STARTER MALFUNCTION AT LOW MILEAGE. CLEARLY, THERE IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE STARTER ON THIS VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND REPLACE THE STARTERS AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMER.

E-BRAKE WAS NOT HOLDING ON A SLOPE FOR ABOUT 2-3 DAYS. TOOK TO SERVICE STATION FOR ADJUSTMENT. MECHANIC ADJUSTED E-BRAKE, BUT NOTICED THAT THE LEFT REAR STEERING KNUCKLE WAS CRACKED AND DEEMED IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. HAD TO HAVE THE STEERING KNUCKLE REPLACED. TOOK PHOTO OF THE DEFECTIVE PART (ATTACHED). WANT SOME REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A PART THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CRACKED (ATTACHED INVOICE). THIS VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 20,000 MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE SERVICE CHARGE FEE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MAY BE INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE AIR BAGS (PERHAPS PERTAINING TO THE CLOCKSPRING). IF SO, THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THEM AND THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE TO THE DEALER. CASE NUMBER: 10207834 WAS PROVIDED. THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,900.
THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH PUSH TO START. THE VEHICLE CAN SUDDENLY BE STARTED WITHOUT PUSHING NON THE BREAK. THE VEHICLE CAN ALSO SHIFT GEARS WITHOUT HAVING YOUR FOOT ON THE BREAK THEREFORE CAUSING A SAFETY CONCERN. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT SPONTANEOUSLY GOES ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
WAS REVERSING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND HEARD METAL CLANK SOUND COMING FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I THEN KEPT DRIVING DOWN THE BLOCK AND HEARD SOMETHING METAL FALL ON THE ROAD. I GOT OUT AND FOUND A PIECE OF A SPRING. IT HAD RUST ON IT WHERE IT CRACKED OFF. BROUGHT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL. THIS CAR MODEL HAD A RECALL FOR THE SPRINGS (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V629000) BUT FOR SOME REASON MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THAT RECALL AS PER THE VIN LOOKUP. OBVIOUSLY MY CAR HAS THAT ISSUE, THE ONLY RECAL SIMILAR IS THE UNDER BODY CORROSION RECALL, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS DOES NOT COVER THIS TYPE OF CORROSION.
THE PLASTIC HOUSING FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT BULB MELTED AND DEFORMED ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. THE BRAKE LIGHT BULBS BURNED OUT AND COULD NOT BE REPLACED CAUSING A DANGEROUS NO BRAKE LIGHT SITUATION. I HAD TO REPLACE THE COMPLETE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY ON BOTH SIDES. FROM SPEAKING WITH THE DEALER AND RESEARCHING ONLINE I DISCOVERED THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM.

I TURN THE THE CAR OFF, HOPING TO RESET. THE CAR COMPLETELY STOP AND I WAS UNABLE TO START THE ENGINE NOR REMOVE KEY FROM OUT OF THE IGNITION. TRIED USING THE GEAR SHIFT RELEASE, IT WON'T WORK EITHER. I HAPPEN TO BE LUCKY THAT IT WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL AREA. IF IT HAPPEN 30 MIN BEFORE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY, I WOULD BE IN A MASSIVE ACCIDENT.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND AS SOON I BEGAN TO DRIVE IT BLINKED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND NOW WILL NOT GO OFF. THE VEHICLE ODOMETER READS APROXIMATELY 116,000 MILES.

VEHICLE PARKED AT HOME DOORS LOCKED NEIGHBORS COME TO TELL ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT MY LIGHTS ARE ON. LIGHTS DO NOT HAVE THE "AUTO" OPTION. SO THE LIGHTS WERE OFF PRIOR TO LOCKING CAR. THE ONLY LIGHTS LITE AT THE TIME OF NEIGHBORS CONCERN WERE THE YELLOW HAZARD LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS. UNLOCKING AND LOCKING THE CAR SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE. BUT THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME HAPPENING. ALSO THE IN CABIN DOME LIGHT FLICKERS ON AND OFF IF LEFT ON THE "DOOR" OPTION. SO IT HAS TO BE LEFT ON "OFF". SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUE GOING ON. AS THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. MOVING ON TO THE ENGINE ISSUE. VEHICLE IN DRIVE AT A RED LIGHT IDLING THE ENGINE WILL JUST STALL OUT OF NOWHERE VEHICLE SEEMS TO JERK AS IF IT WANTS TO TAKE OFF. I FIND MYSELF APPLYING MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE BECAUSE IT SCARES ME. IT NEVER SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY HOWEVER IT DOES THIS SO RANDOM THAT AND ISSUE CAN NOT BE FOUND.

THE OIL LIGHT STARTED ILLUMINATING LAST MONTH(MARCH)THEN IT WOULD GO OUT,I HAD THE OIL CHANGED,3 WEEKS LATER THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN,AGAIN,I HAD THE OIL CHANGED FIRST WEEK OF APRIL.I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS,CAR WOULD NOT PICK UP SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE SO I PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER GOT OUT CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND THE CAR HAD A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT,I CHECK THE OIL DIPSTICK,IT WAS BONE DRY,I HAD JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED MAYBE TWO WEEKS PRIOR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED HOME,PUT A COUPLE OF QUARTS OF OIL IN THE CAR,STARTED IT UP AND IT STALLED OUT IN THE DRIVEWAY. APRIL 26,I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC SHOP TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE.TODAY APRIL 28,2017 HE TELLS ME THAT THE OIL BEARING IS LOSING OIL PRESSURE AND NOW I NEED A NEW ENGINE.
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT DASH LIGHTS FLICKER AND GO OUT INTERMITTENTLY AS WELL AS HEAD LIGHTS FLICKERING. THEN THE HEADLIGHTS COME ON FULL BRIGHT AND CANNOT BE CONTROLLED WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHT DIMMER. NOT A GOOD THING TO HAPPEN AT NIGHT. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.
I RECENTLY EXPERIENCED A POSSIBLE RECALL EVENT ON MY 2011 SONATA LIMITED 4CY. THE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ATTACHMENT BOLT SHEARED WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. I WAS STATIONARY AT A STOP LIGHT, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND AS SOON AS I STARTING MOVING THE BOLT SHEARED AND I HEARD A GRINDING NOISE. LUCKILY, THE EVENT DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH SPEED. I LOOKED UP ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE HAS BEEN ANY RECALLS AND I FOUND 'CAMPAIGN TP3 - REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT. I THINK THE REAR UPPER ARM SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE CAMPAIGN AS THE BOLT SHEAR WAS OUT OF THE ORDINARY AND THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I STILL HAVE THE REAR CROSSMEMBER THAT WAS REPLACED WITH THE THREADED PART OF THE BOLT STILL IN IT AND THE SHEARED BOLT.
PRIOR TO THE FOLLOWING DATES, NO PASSENGER HAS BEEN IN MY CAR TO OBSERVE THIS. APRIL 21, 2017; DRIVING FROM KY TO FLORIDA. ATLANTA HAD STRONG RAIN. THE PASSENGER FLOOR BECAME FLOODED. WATER IS POURING IN AT THE MOST LEFT CORNER,UNDER THE GLOVE BOX. ALSO RAINED IN FLORIDA THRU GEORGIA ON APRIL 23 - RETURN TRIP. SAME THING BUT WATER HAS NOW OVERFLOWED FROM THE FRONT TO THE BACK SEAT. WHEN I WAS ASKED ABOUT HOW LONG THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING, ALL I COULD SAY WAS I NOTICED A LITTLE CONDENSATION ON THE WINDSHIELD DURING WINTER BUT I HAD NO IDEA WHY SO I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE COLD TEMPERATURE.
STEERING COLUMN RECALL: HAD THE RECALL DONE BY HYUNDAI NEW ROCHELLE. IMMEDIATELY FELT AND HEARD A DIFFERENCE IN THE STEERING (LOOSE CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNING) AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER. I WAS TOLD ALL WAS OKAY AND IT WAS PART OF THE NEW RECALL. SOON AFTER THE CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL GOT LOUDER AND MY HORN GOES IN AND OUT OR WORKING. WAS TOLD BY ANOTHER MECHANIC (WHEN I WENT TO GET MY WHEELS BALANCED AS THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING) THAT THEY COULD SEE THE REPLACEMENT FROM THE RECALL BUT THAT THERE SEEMS TO BE TOO MUCH "PLAY" BETWEEN THE GEARS SO THAT THEY DO NOT MEET FLUSH. WAS TOLD IT IS A COSTLY JOB AND SHOULD GO BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO REPORT THE PROBLEM. SEEMS THERE ARE MANY MORE PROBLEMS JUST LIKE MINE FOLLOWING THIS RECALL ALL OVER THE INTERNET.

I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF ENGINE OIL THE CAR USES IN LESS THAN 20,00 MILES. 3). ENGINE WILL NOT START, EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY PROBLEM. 4). CAR DOORS LOCK WITH KEY FOB INSIDE. 5) SHAKY STEERING WHEEL, THAT I'VE COMPLAINED ABOUT SINCE I OWNED THE CAR. 4) SEATS ARE SUPPOSE TO BE LEATHER, "LEATHER" IS CRACKING IN THE FRONT AROUND THE BASE OF THE SEAT. (DEALERS SAYS IT'S NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I'VE HAD LEATHER SEATS BEFORE AND NONE OF THEM CRACKED).
THE AIR BAG LITE IS ILLUMINATED AND IT WON'T TURN OFF. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT SO I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS LITE IS ON.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE BACK IN 2011 AND COULD NOT REPAIR IT UNDER THE SAME RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
