OVER THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS A PROGRESSIVELY WORSENING CLUNKING NOISE, WITH A REVERBERATING RATTLE, HAS BEEN COMING FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING COLUMN HAS MADE PROGRESSIVELY WORSENING CLICKING NOISES AND BECAME PROGRESSIVELY LOOSER WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS, TO THE POINT WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VISIBLY SHAKE BACK AND FORTH. A HYUNDAI DEALER SAID THAT THIS ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY A FAILED STEERING COLUMN RUBBER COUPLER (A BUSHING IN THE STEERING COLUMN), THAT THIS ISSUE IS WELL KNOWN, AND THAT EVENTUALLY IT WOULD HINDER THE ABILITY TO SAFELY DRIVE THE CAR. FEARING FOR MY SAFETY, I HAD THE DEALER REPLACE THE COUPLER AT A COST OF $375. GIVEN THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE AND COMPARATIVELY LOW MILEAGE I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE REFLECTS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR AND IS INSTEAD RELATED TO A DEFECTIVE PART.
THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A CLICKING AND KNOCKING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS AND REVERSING, I WAS TOLD BY THE HYUNDAI DEALER THAT THE STEERING COLUMN COUPLER HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE STEERING COLUMN CAN GET SEPARATED AND CAUSE A CRASH. I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS. THE COST TO REPLACE THIS IS $550 FOR A PART THAT PROBABLY COSTS $20. SO AT THIS POINT SINCE I HAVE KIDS I CANT DRIVE THIS CAR AND IT HAS TO BE PARKED UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR THIS. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY RECALLS ON THE PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL. PLEASE CONSIDER A RECALL ON THIS ALSO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE POLICE WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. UPDATED 09/27/16*LJ *TR
FUEL SENDER (IN TANK FUEL SENSOR) HAS FAILED. FIRST NOTICED OVER A YEAR AGO WITH INTERMITTENT ERRONEOUS FUEL GAUGE READING AFTER REFUELING, BUT QUICKLY CORRECTED ITS SELF. NOTICED THE FULL FAILURE A DAY AFTER I HAD REFUELED AND MY FUEL GAUGE READ HALF FULL. ASSUMED THAT I WAS A VICTIM OF FUEL THEFT, BUT NO SIGN OF FORCED ENTRY TO MY FUEL DOOR. I REFUELED AND THE CAR TOPPED OFF WITHIN ABOUT A GALLON. HOWEVER THE GAUGE WAS STILL READING LOW. ASSUMED THAT MAYBE THE THIEVES HAD DAMAGED AND PARTIALLY OBSTRUCTED MY FILL HOSE WITH A LOST SYPHON HOSE. OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS THE GAUGE SLOWLY ROSE TO FULL. NOW THE GAUGE FLUCTUATES BETWEEN FULL AND HALF FULL. RESEARCHED THE SENDING UNIT AND FOUND THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THREE MODELS AND A TSB (SB-10052842-7701) FOR INSPECTION OF THE UNIT WAS ISSUED MAY 2013 AND A REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE (SB-10060967-2273) WAS ISSUED JUNE 2014. AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT PART IS AFFORDABLE AT APPROXIMATELY $45 FROM THIRD PART VENDOR, BUT THE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE IS COMPLICATED BY THE HIGH RISK OF WORKING WITH GASOLINE AND EITHER TRYING TO REMOVE THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TIGHT CONFINES OF THE CAR WITH THE FUEL TANK STILL INSTALLED OR REMOVING THE TANK WITH RESIDUAL FUEL.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS APPROACHING A YELLOW TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE PRECEDING VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND THEN MADE A SUDDEN STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED THE OTHER VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT'S HEAD STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED PAIN TO THE KNEES, ELBOWS, AND MINOR BRUISING. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY REPAIRED THE COLLISION DAMAGES, BUT THERE WAS NO INVESTIGATION AS TO WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MONTHS LATER, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND, A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V152000 (SEAT BELTS). THE DEALER WAS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND INDICATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO HAVE A DIAGNOSIS PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS LATER NOTIFIED OF THE CRASH AND RECENTLY STATED THAT THE NOTICE WAS RECEIVED AFTER THE CRASH; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WAS WAITING TO DETERMINE IF THE MANUFACTURER WOULD ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
MY VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 76,000 MILES. WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION, THERE IS SEVERE LOOSENESS AND CLUNK THAT IS FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. EVEN IN PARK MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT THE LOUD NOISE IS PRESENT.
WHEN VEHICLE WAS MOVING IT FELT LIKE WENT INTO A COAST BUT RPM DID NOT INCREASE SPEED SLOWED.. GAS PEDDLE WAS PUSHED IN NOTHING HAPPENED WHEN PEDDLE WAS RELEASED AND THEN PUSHED ALL FUNCTIONS RESUMED
I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW 2011 SONATA IN DEC. 2010 AND NOW MY AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS....... WHAT!!!!
I STARTED TO HEAR A CLUNKING NOISE EVERY TIME I WENT OVER ANY TYPE OF BUMP IN JULY 2016. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THE SWAY BAR END LINKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE. MY WARRANTY WOULDN'T COVER IT SO IT TOOK ME A MONTH TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY TO FIX IT. TWO DAYS AGO RIGHT BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT TO GET THE END LINKS REPLACED THE RIGHT SIDE SWAY BAR ENDED UP BREAKING OFF WHILE DRIVING. I NOTICED IT HANGING OFF WHEN I PARKED. I HAD IT FIXED YESTERDAY FOR $285. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR THIS MORNING NOW MY EPS LIGHT IS ON. WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT FAILED TO DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL AND FAILED TO IMMEDIATELY STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT STOPPED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ED VOYLES HYUNDAI (2135 COBB PKWY SE, SMYRNA, GA 30080, 770-952-8881), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS RECENTLY ILLUMINATED AND STAYS ON. THERE IS NOTHING OBSTRUCTING THE WIRES UNDER THE SEATS AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN A CRASH. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAS REMAINED ON. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT AIRBAGS AND SENSORS ARE ONLY COVERED UNDER THE FIRST 5 YEARS AND 60,000 MILES. BASED ON THE RECENT PLETHORA OF RECALLS ON THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA AND AFTER READING COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH OTHER VEHICLES OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES, I AM CONCERNED THAT NOT ONLY ARE THE AIRBAGS COVERED UNDER A LIMITED WARRANTY, BUT THAT THIS MAY BE ANOTHER POSSIBLE RECALL IN THE LONG LINE OF RECALLS FOR THE HYUNDAI SONATA. I DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFE CAR FOR ANYONE AND FEEL THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT/DEACTIVATION COULD RESULT IN DEATHS SHOULD HYUNDAI NOT COVER THE AIRBAGS LONGER AND FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE REPAIR.

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW. IT HAS MADE THE SAME NOISE SINCE I'VE HAD IT. I'VE BEEN TO THE HUYNDA DEALER MANY TIMES. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S WRONG. WHEN YOUR CAR IS BETWEEN 2000 RPM AND 3000 RPMS OR STEADILY AT 2000 IT MAKES A CONTINUOUS RADDLE NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND CONTINUES UNTIL YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. YOU WANT TO KNOW MY OPINION ABOUT THE [XXX] CAR? ANYONE WHO OWNS ONE SHOULD BE GIVEN A NEW ONE. BECAUSE THE CAR IS A PIECE OF CRAP. NOW I ALSO SAW A COMPLAINT ABOUT SOMEONE HAVING TO REPLACE THE COUPLER. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT SHOWS I PAID THE HYUNDAI TO REPLACE MY STEERING COUPLER. IT WAS OVER 300 DOLLARS. WHEN YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE STEERING IS HARD TO CONTROL AND THE WHEEL MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. SO I TOOK IT IN AND THEY COUPLER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WANT REIMBURSEMENT AND YOU GUYS SHOULD IMPLEMENT ANOTHER RECALL ABOUT REPLACING EVERYONE'S COUPLER. YOU GUYS SHOULD MAKE HYUNDAI GIVE EVERYONE A NEW CAR WHO HAS GONE THROUGH AL THE MESS WE HAVE. WHEN I ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY, ENGINE STALLS. GOES FROM 55 TO ZERO AND WHEN I PUMP VIGOURSLY IN THE GAS TO MAKE IT GO FASTER, IT WILL NOT. I ALMOST WAS SLAMMED IN THE REAR FROM OTHER CARS IN THE FREEWAY. PLUS AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF. PLUS KNOCK KNOCK NOISE HEARD IN THE ENGINE.
AFTER STOPPING THE CAR AND PARKING, THE KEY GETS STUCK AND I AM UNABLE TO REMOVE IT. AFTER JIGGLING THE KEY AND TUGGING AT THE STEERING WHEEL, THE KEY EVENTUALLY CAN BE REMOVED. IT HAS HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY IN THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS. THE LATEST OCCURRENCE WAS JULY 12, 2016.
WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALLS TO TOOK CAR IN. AS RECALLS COME MORE PROBLEMS CAME UP. THERE WAS A PROBLEMS WITH THE SHIFT GEAR WHICH COST ME $501.00 ON JULY 12TH. THE LAST THING, LAST WEEKEND 23RD, WAS THE STEERING WHICH COST ME 365.00. AT THIS POINT IN TIME I DO NOT WANT THE CAR ANY MORE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE COIL SPRING WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD THE COIL SPRINGS, AND FRONT END TIE ROD ASSEMBLIES REPLACED. IN ADDITION, A WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND AN OIL CHANGED WERE PERFORMED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FOB KEY FAILED TO UNLOCK THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,612.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF. I WAS ADVISED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE TO PAY $450 TO REPLACE A SPRING INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS FRUSTRATING AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A MANUFACTURE DEFECT.
OUR FAMILY CAR HAS A RECALL WITH THE STEERING THAT IF READ IS DUE TO LOOSE STEERING AND BOLTS THAT HAS CAUSED OTHER CARS TO LOOSE CONTROL . HYUNDAI SAYS THEY WON'T REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN BECAUSE OF A CHIP THAT PASSED INSPECTION.THE ARTICLE I READ SAID NOTHING ABOUT A COMPUTER CHIP. THE STEERING ON THE CAR IS SO LOOSE WE DON'T EVEN FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT ANY LONGER. HYUNDAI KEEPS TELLING US THAT IT WILL BE 3 TO 5 DAYS EVERYTIME WE TALK TO THEM TO DECIDE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO FOR US. WE HAVE A NEW BORN BABY AND CANNOT AFFORD TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. WE REALLY ARE JUST STUCK RIGHT NOW. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD RECALL AFTER RECALL. THE TECH THAT INSPECTED THE CAR SAID IT SHOULD BE FIXED UNDER THE RECALL IN HIS OPINION AND THEY HE WOULD FIX IT BUT CORPORATE IS DRAGGING THERE FEET.
THE FEED LINE GOING TO THE TURBOCHARGER LEAKS OIL. THIS IS A ONGOING PROBLEM FOR MANY OWNERS. THE OIL LEAKS FROM A WOVEN PLASTIC/NYLON PART CONNECTED TO THE METAL PART OF THE LINE. THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE AS THE OIL LEAKS TO AN AREA WHERE IT CAN CONTACT THE HOT ENGINE PARTS. OIL LEAKS FROM THE LINE BOTH WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION AND AFTER IT IS STOPPED CAUSING A ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE.
MY CAR USE TOO MUCH OIL, EVERY WEEK I HAVE TO ADD A QUART IN A HALF OF OIL, THAT IS BECOMING EXTREMELY PRICEY FOR ME AND GETTING OIL CHANGES IS WORTHLESS TO ME BECAUSE IT LIKE I'M WASTING MONEY BY GETTING THEM. IT WOULD ALSO HELP TO HAVE A LOW OIL WARNING LIGHT SHOW UP BECAUSE BEFORE I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR I WAS VERY LOW ON OIL GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY THAT GOD I WAS ONLY BLOCKS AWAY FROM A AUTO PART STORE TO BY SOME MOTOR OIL...THIS REALLY DO SUCK

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH OR GREATER, THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASHBOARD SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT THE DETAILS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V190000 (STEERING), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUED TO SHAKE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,200.
THE STEERING COUPLER WAS DEFECTIVE ON MY CAR. MY STEERING STARTED GETTING PROGRESSIVELY LOOSER, AND ESPECIALLY NOISY/VIBRATING WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS MY COUPLER BASED ON MY DESCRIPTION (AND IT TURNED TO BE EXACTLY THAT) BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS COMMON PROBLEM WITH SONATAS AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THEM ALL THE TIME. I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE SONATA. HAVING A LOOSE AND VIBRATING STEERING WHEEL CAN'T POSSIBLY BE SAFE, AND THE FACT THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM MAKES ME BELIEVE SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS OTHER THAN FORCING CUSTOMERS TO FOOT THE BILL FOR A DEFECTIVE PART THAT CAUSES STEERING WHEEL ISSUES.

I AM HAVING CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE SOME RECALLS AND I AM NOW CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL.WHERE THE HORN AND THE LIGHT IS NOT WORKING.
WHILE SITTING STILL, WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS SLIGHTLY TURNED TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER, THERE IS A LOUD CLICKING/POPPING NOISE. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN TURNING WHILE DRIVING. WHEN DRIVING AND HITTING A SLIGHT BUMP, THE CLICKING/POPPING IS SO BAD THAT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS GOING TO BREAK INTO PIECES. THERE IS ALSO SOME "PLAY" IN THE STEERING WHEEL.
AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED FOR NO REASON AND CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS. TOOK IT IN TO DEALER AND PAID &100. FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE CODE B1346 DRIVER AIRBAG RESISTANCE TOO HIGH. MONITOR CURRENT DATA AND RESISTANCE ON DRIVER AIRBAG IS AT 10 OHMS AND WHEN MOVING STEERING WHEEL IT GOES INTO FAIL MODE. RECOMMEND NEW CLOCK SPRING A'S STEP ONE OF REPAIR. TO COMPLETE STEP ONE WILL COST AND ADDITIONAL $331. I HAVE READ ABOUT HUNDREDS OF CLOCK SPRING BEING FAULTY ON THIS MODEL AND WOULD APPRECIATE AN INVESTIGATION.

CAME OUT TO THE PARKED VEHICLE IN OUR DRIVEWAY TO FIND THE ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY FALLING OUT. THE CAR WAS NEVER HIT OR IN AN ACCIDENT. NOTICED THAT THE STUDS (FASTENERS) GOING INTO THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY CRACKED APART AND SEPARATED FROM THE STUDS AND THE ASSEMBLY ALLOWING THE ASSEMBLY TO FALL FROM THE BODY. A NEW TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WILL BE NEEDED TO REPAIR. THIS LOOKS AS THOUGH THERE COULD BE A TENSILE STRENGTH PROBLEM WITH THE PLASTIC. IF IT FALLS OFF THERE IS NO TAIL LIGHT AND IT COULD DAMAGE ANOTHER VEHICLE IF ON THE HIGHWAY.

SOMETIME IN LATE 2016, THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED KNOCKING WHEN TURNING AND AT SPEEDS ABOVE 55 ON A STRAIGHT ROAD THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE AND IT'S GETTING WORSE EVERY TIME IT'S DRIVEN, I HAVE HAD NEW ROTORS NEW BRAKES NEW TIRES AND NEW FLOAT PINS INSTALLED IN THE CALIPERS AND 4 TIRE ROTATION, I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO LOOK UP THE STEERING COUPLER BECAUSE IT'S A PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT WOULD EVENTUALLY BREAK AND I WOULD HAVE NO STEERING BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC I WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SMILED AND SAID YEAH WE HAVE A TON OF THOSE BUT OF COURSE ALSO SAID THEY KNOW ABOUT IT BUT THEY AREN'T REQUIRED TO FIX IT, THAT'S A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF IT SILL MAKE THE CAR LOSE STEERING, I ALSO HAVE A 2011 KIA OPTIMA SX WITH THE EXACT ISSUE AND KIA WILL FIX IT FREE OF CHARGE, THESE ARE THE SAME EXACT CARS PRETTY MUCH AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY KNOW ABOUT IT AND HAVE A LIMIT ON MILES SINCE KIA HAS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY OF UNLIMITED MILES BECAUSE THEY KNOW IT'S A SERIOUS ISSUE

I ASKED FOR A CAR FAX REPORT WHICH THEY PROVIDED SOMETHING SIMILAR BUT THEIR REPORT ONLY SHOWED ONE RECALL ON THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS RECALL NUMBER 143, REGARDING THE EPS PROBLEM. SO FOR A WEEK I LOOKED INTO ALL THE RECALLS THIS VEHICLE HAS BUT IT WAS PAST THE 5 DAY RETURN POLICY BY DRIVETIME. WE FIGURED IF IT WAS A RECALL THEN IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED BY LAW, RIGHT? SO I PUT MY VIN # IN TO VERIFY THAT INDEED MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF NUMEROUS RECALLS, SO I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR RECALL 132 AT VANDERGRIFF HYUNDAI IN ARLINGTON, TX. BEFORE THEY EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR THEY SAID THAT CAMPAIGN WAS "CLOSED" & SAID THEY COULDN'T ASSIST ME ANY FURTHER. I ASKED THEM WHAT DOES CLOSED MEAN, DOES THAT MEAN THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS REPLACED PREVIOUSLY OR NOT? THEY JUST SAID "ITS BEEN DONE," NOTHING MORE. WE'VE HAD THIS CAR TWO WEEKS & ALREADY MY GIRL HAS GOT A TICKET FOR THE LEFT REAR BRAKE LIGHT BEING OUT WHICH I'VE REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW, THE CAR FOR NO REASON PULLS TO THE LEFT WHICH COULD CAUSE A POSSIBLE HEAD ON COLLISION, & THE ENGINE & TRANSMISSION BOTH SOUND THAT THEY ARE ON THEIR LAST LEG. FINALLY, I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN REGARDS TO THE EXTENDED WARRANTY 10YR/120,000 MILES WHICH I WAS THINKING WE CAN GET IT LOOKED AT THAT WAY, BUT THEN AFTER A SERIES OF QUESTIONS I WAS TOLD THAT OUR VEHICLE DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS WARRANTY DUE TO THE VEHICLE WE JUST PURCHASED 2 WEEKS AGO HAS ISSUES. I TOLD THE REP I THOUGHT ALL OF THE 470,000 VEHICLES THAT WERE AFFECTED BY THE RECALL AUTOMATICALLY WAS GIVEN THAT WARRANTY? I WANT THE INFO ON WHAT WAS DONE TO FIX/REPAIR THE VEHICLE ON EACH RECALL & WHY ARE WE BEING TOLD ALL THE PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING WITH THE CAR NOW HAVE BEEN "CLOSED."
