BRAKE LIGHTS ASSEMBLY IS MESSED UP. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE BOTH TAIL LIGHTS.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH BECAME STUCK IN THE UNLOCK POSITION AFTER REMOTELY UNLOCKING THE VEHICLE. THE LATCH WILL NOT LOCK MANUALLY, BY KEY, OR BY REMOTE. THEREFORE, THE DOOR REMAINS UNLOCKED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE FALLS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT APPARENTLY THE SAME RECALLED COMPONENTS WERE USED TO MAKE THIS VEHICLE.
GEAR SHIFT DISPLAY ON DASH BOARD GOES BLANK AFTER SHIFTING FROM ONE GEAR TO THE NEXT DESIRED GEAR (I.E. CAR IS IN REVERSE AND PUT INTO DRIVE, D APPEARS THAN DISAPPEARS) OR WHILE TRYING TO SHIFT (I.E. CAR IS IN PARK OR NEUTRAL AND SHIFT CAR INTO DRIVE AND THE DISPLAY GOES BLANK WITHOUT D APPEARING FIRST). AFTER THE DISPLAY GOES BLANK, THE CAR FEELS AS THOUGH IT IS GOING TO STALL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARS. PUTTING THE CAR INTO PARK AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE RIGHT AWAY. AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES WITH THE CAR OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON FIXES THE ISSUE WITH THE GEAR SHIFT DISPLAY TEMPORARILY BUT CHECK ENGINE ICON REMAINS ILLUMINATED.
I RECEIVED A LETTER STATING MY ENTIRE ENGINE HAD BEEN RECALLED, BUT THE HYUNDAI DEALER HERE IN SPRINGFIELD, MO CLAIMS THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE CAR WAS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE LETTER SAID
I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN EXACT ANSWER AS TO WHY WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, EVERY TIME I PRESS THE BRAKES I HEAR A CLICKING SOUND; WHICH YOU CAN ALSO FEEL BY PLACING YOUR HAND ON THE GEAR SHIFT

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE CRASHED WHILE MANEUVERING AROUND A CURVED ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,522.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE DECREASED SPEED INDEPENDENTLY, AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE); HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.
THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA STOPPED WORKING APPROX. 1 WEEK AGO WITHOUT ANY ADVANCE WARNING. THE CAR IS OF COURSE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF POWER STEERING. IF MY SONATA IS NOT ONE OF THE CARS COVERED BY THE RECALL NOTICE VERY RECENTLY ANNOUNCED, THEN THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND I WENT TO START THE CAR, AND THE EPS LIGHT WAS LIT AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD REMAINS ILLUMINATED. THE CAR WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT PRIOR TO THE LIGHT TURNING ON. THE AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION.
I PURCHASED MY LEMON VEHICLE FROM WEBB HYUNDAI IN HIGHLAND, IN AND PURCHASED IT USED IN MARCH OF 2013. I'M ALWAYS HEARING ABOUT THIS 100000 MILES WARRANTY, MY VEHICLE HADN'T QUITE MADE IT TO THAT, WHEN I FIRST QUESTIONED THE CLICKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND SHAKING OF MY VEHICLE; BECAUSE MY CAR WAS USED FOR ME TO DAILY TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE STATE OF INDIANA, MY VEHICLE IN JULY 2017 HAD EXCEEDED THE 100000 MILE AND THE USED WARRANTY STATED COVERAGE ONLY UP TO 60,000. HOWEVER, I WROTE HYUNDAI, TOOK IT BACK ON SEVERAL OCCASSION AND THEY DID ACTUALLY FIX MY ENGINE, THANKS TO THE RECALL, IN WHICH THEY FIRST DENIED ME FOR 45 DAYS, WHEN I RECEIVE MY VEHICLE BACK I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE CLICKING NOISE AND I ALWAYS WAS GIVEN SOME LAME EXCUSE AND IT'S AMAZING HOW IN JULY OF 2017 THEY WERE CONSTANTLY CALLING MY PHONE AND I EVEN GOT AN EMAIL ON JULY 12, 2017 ON HOW THEY'VE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO PHONE ME, NOT MENTIONING ALL THE CONTINUAL CALLS I HAD GIVEN THEM PRIOR TO THIS. HOWEVER, DURING THIS TIME OUR FAMILY WAS DEALING WITH A CRISIS IN WHICH ME GETTING BACK WITH THEM WAS NOT AS URGENT AND WHEN I DID TRY RETURNING THE CALL ON SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BETWEEN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER OF 2017, I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK AND I STILL HAVE OWNERSHIP OF THE AWESOME LEMON THAT WAS SOLD TO ME.
THE LIGHT FOR THE AIR BAG IS LIT UP ON MY DASHBOARD
I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL HAD PLAY IN IT. TOOK TO HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY STATED I NEEDED A COUPLER AND INTERMEDIATE SHAFT AND BOLTS TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE HAD 73,008 MILES. ASKED WHY THIS COULD HAPPEN ON SUCH LOW MILES THEY STATED PARTS DON'T LAST FOREVER. DEALER SUMMIT THE CLAIM TO HYUNDAI AND HYUNDAI DENIED THEREFORE I HAD TO PAY FOR REPAIR SINCE THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN AN OFF RAMP WHERE THEY HAD SOME PLACED SOME SPEED STRIPS TO WARN VEHICLES THAT THE ROAD AHEAD WAS STRIPPED AND UNDER THE PROCESS OF BEING RE-ASPHALTED. I SLOWED DOWN AS I ENTERED THE MAIN ROAD AND THE POWER TURNED OFF AND ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP. I WAS LUCKY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME AND THE ROAD WAS CLEAR TO ENTER. I PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT OF A RETAIL STORE, GLIDED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I TRIED STARTING THE VEHICLE, WHICH IT DID, AND AS SOON AS I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF AGAIN. I LET IT SIT, CALLED AAA AND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS HAVING IT TOWED TO GIVE THEM ADVANCE WARNING. WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, WHICH IT DID, AND THIS TIME WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT, IT DID NOT STOP BUT ACTED LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND NOTHING HAPPENED AGAIN AND BACKED THE VEHICLE INTO A SPACE TO ALLOW THE TOW DRIVER EASIER ACCESS TO THE CAR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS HAD IT ALL DAY AND STILL HAVE NOT LOCATED ANY PROBLEMS.

THE LIGHT FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELT NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT STAYS AT SEATBELT OFF AND THE DRIVER'S WILL NOT TURN OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE HAS STARTED. BOTH STAY ON THE ENTIRE TIME THE VEHICLE IS ON.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON IN THE DASHBOARD SEVERAL DAYS AGO, AND IT STAYS ON. IT WON'T GO OFF. CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, AND LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR SEVERAL DAYS AGO AND IT HAS BEEN ON EVER SINCE. BASED ON RESEARCH ONLINE, IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR THIS MODEL.
UPPER STEERING ASSEMBLY JOINT IS LOOSE. CAUSING A CLUNKING SOUND WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS, MANHOLE AND DRIVING AT 60MPH

THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR, THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
STEERING COUPLER FAILED AT 80K HIGH SPEED CONTROL OF THE CAR IS KNOTCHY AND UNSAFE NO WARRANTY COVERAGE AS IT IS NOT POWERTRAIN
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON INDICATING SOMETHING IS WRONG, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOT AN WEAR AND TEAR PROBLEM. I HAVE REPLACE SEVERAL BULBS IN MY VEHICLE EACH YEAR FOR FIVE YEARS. EVERY BULB THAT I HAVE WENT OUT INDICATING A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

CHECKED HYUNDAI WEBSITES, NUMEROUS REPAIRS FOR THESE SAMES ISSUES ON THE 2011 SONATA, BOTH ISSUES SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUES. WITH SO MANY OF THESE CARS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, THESE WLD APPEAR TO BE DEFECTS IN THE MANUFACTURED WITH THE CARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHAFT JOINT WAS SEPARATING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN AND A REPAIR WAS NEEDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

IN THE BEGINNING OF MAY, 2016 AT 105K, I STARTED THE CAR AND I MADE IT DOWN THE STREET AND THE CAR STALLED IN FRONT OF A STOP SIGN. THE ENGINE, OIL, BATTERY, AND ESC LIGHTS CAME ON. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND TRIED TO TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WOULDN'T START. I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST $1000 TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP SO I TOOK TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND HE REPLACED IT WITH AN AFTERMARKET FUEL PUMP FOR $375. GOT IT BACK AND IT RAN GREAT. 2 WEEKS LATER, ON MY WAY TO WORK I HAD A FULL TANK AND I DROVE ABOUT 10 MILES AND MY FULL TANK WENT TO A HALF TANK AND IT WAS SAYING I HAD 289 MILES LEFT THEN SAID I HAD 270 AND THEN WENT TO 290 MILES LEFT IN LESS THAN A MINUTE. I GOT OFF OF WORK AND THE CAR STARTED, BUT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT. I GOT IT TOWED BACK TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID THERE WAS SOMETHING LOOSE ON THE FUEL PUMP. A WEEK LATER, IT BROKE DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A CAR WASH. I HAD TO GET IT PULLED OUT AND TOWED AGAIN. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN. A WEEK AND HALF LATER, THE FUEL INDICATOR KEPT GOING UP AND DOWN AND THEN SAID I HAD NO MORE GAS WHEN I KNEW I HAD QUARTER OF A TANK SO I BROUGHT IT HOME AND FILLED IT UP AT A LOCAL GAS STATION. IT RAN WELL AFTER THE FILL UP. DIDN'T DRIVE IT FOR A WEEK BECAUSE I WENT ON VACATION. THE DAY AFTER I CAME BACK I WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE AND IT DROVE FINE, BUT AFTER IT SAT IN THE PARKING LOT FOR 15 MINUTES, IT WOULDN'T START. I LET IT SIT FOR 6 HOURS AND CAME BACK LATER THAT NIGHT TO TRY AGAIN. IT TOOK 4 TRIES FOR THE CAR TO START AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME, PARANOID THINKING THAT IT WAS GOING TO BREAK DOWN AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS.
THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES A CLICKING AND KNOCKING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS AND REVERSING, I WAS TOLD BY THE HYUNDAI DEALER THAT THE STEERING COLUMN HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE STEERING COLUMN CAN GET SEPARATED AND CAUSE A CRASH. I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY CAN DO THE REPAIR AT A COST TO ME. THE ISSUE AT HAND IS THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG HYUNDAI SONATAS AND THEREFORE I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD COVER THE REPAIR. IT SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL
STEERING NOT PRECISE ON ROAD (LARGER PLAY IN WHEEL) AND LOUD CLUNKING NOISE WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. TOOK TO DEALER AND IT WAS A STEERING WHEEL COUPLER THAT NEEDING CHANGING. ORIGINAL WAS RIGID AND THEY CHANGED THE DESIGN ON LATER MODELS. ISSUE ON PLAY THE N WHEEL AND NOISE AT ALL SPEEDS, HOWEVER FELT MORE DANGEROUS ON FREEWAY. CAR WAS 5.5 YEARS OLD AND 86K MILES OF MAINLY FREEWAY DRIVING.

EVERYTIME I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL AND/OR SLIGHTLY MOVE IT IN ANY WAY, IT MAKES A VERY UNNERVING AND SCARY POPPING SOUND. AS IF IT WILL JUST COME RIGHT OFF OF THE HINGES. IT MAKES THE SAME POPPING SOUND WHILE DRIVING ON THESE TERRIBLE CALIFORNIA UNEVEN HIGHWAYS AND LOCAL STREETS. APPARENTLY THE VEHICLE HAS A RECALL NUMBER 16V19000 BUT THERE IS NO REMEDY....HOW CAN THAT BE? DO WE WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE HAS A ACCIDENT, THEN NOTIFY ALL THE CUSTOMERS?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ILLUMINATION WAS DUE TO A DISCONNECTED PART. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE TO RECONNECT THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
I STARTED NOTICING WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING TURNS, A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL OF MY VEHICLE. ANY TIME I WOULD TURN LEFT, RIGHT OR GO OVER A BUMP, A LARGE RATTLE WOULD COME FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. I CONTACTED A DEALERSHIP THAT INDICATED THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI SONATA'S AND THAT IT'S DUE TO A FAULTY STEERING COUPLER. THEY INDICATED THAT THEY REPLACE CLOSE TO 2 OR 3 A WEEK. I FIND THIS TO BE COMPLETELY DISTURBING CONSIDERING A DRIVE MY CHILDREN AROUND IN THIS VEHICLE YET HYUNDAI HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR A PROBLEM THEM OBVIOUSLY KNOW THEY HAVE.
WHILE DRIVING 45MPH I EXPERIENCE MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKING AND IT LEAVES THE VEHICLE HARD TO CONTROL AND IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT. I THEN STARTED TO EXPERIENCE MY CAR NOT STARTING AFTER SITTING FOR NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES AND THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR 2 DAYS. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STARTER LEVER AND STEERING COUPLER. BOTH OF THESE ARE COMMON DEFECTS OF THIS MODEL AND HAS BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST. I CALLED HYUNDAI TODAY AND WAS TOLD THAT I AM NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIRS REGARDLESS OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PAST. THE REPAIRS ARE GOING TO COST ME A LITTLE OVER $600.00 WHEN THE PARTS ARE PLASTIC AND WOULDN'T COST MORE THAN $20.00. A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH THE BBB AS WELL...THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURE NEEDS TO DO A BETTER JOB AT BUILDING THESE PARTS.
PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL IT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. I WAS BROWSING THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MANY HYUNDAI SONATAS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM ON OLD AND NEW MODELS. MY CAR IS A 2011 SONATA.
I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD OF A CLICKING SOUND IN APRIL OF 2016. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO HEAR THE SOUND UNTIL LATER ON. THAT CLICKING NOISE HAS TURNED INTO A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND. THE STEERING WAS LOOSE AND A SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WITH RATTLING SOUND AT 65 MPH. I THOUGHT THE SHAKING WAS CAUSED DUE TO AN ALIGNMENT BEING NEEDED WHICH I HAD DONE TODAY 9/6/2016. I HEAR THIS SOUND WHEN BACKING OR PARKED WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR TO THE RIGHT. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED WITH HYUNDAI 9/7/2016.
ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGAIN I NOTICE THAT I CAN NOT LEAVE MY LIGHT SWITCH IN AUTO MODE BECAUSE AFTER LOCKING MY DOORS AND ENGAGING THE ALARM I WOULD ALWAYS GET A KNOCK ON THE DOOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH MY NEIGHBORS LETTING ME KNOW THAT I LEFT MY LIGHTS ON. I DID NOT LEAVE THEN ON BECAUSE THEY GO OFF AFTER I HIT THE ALARM BUT APPARENTLY THEY ARE COMING BACK ON BY THEMSELVES. I SEE OTHER PEOPLE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HYUNDAI AT ALL HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DO THEY NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEY MADE A HUGE MISTAKE MANUFACTURING THESE VECHICLES. I WILL NEVER BY ANYTHING THING HYUNDAI MAKES AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V568000 (ENGINE), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE REMEDY WAS NOT EFFECTIVE AND THERE WAS A METALLIC KNOCKING NOISE IN THE ENGINE AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,241.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON AFTER I START MY ENGINE, I HAVE NO ONE ELSE IN THE VEHICLE ONLY A LIGHT JACKET OR LUNCH BAG ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT STARTED THREE DAYS AGO.
THE STEERING COLUMN BEGAN TO LOOSEN AND EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. I HAD TO REPLACE IT AT MY COST AT 67,000 MILES.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND DOES NOT GO OFF. I WENT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT, BUT THEY SAID THEY HAVE TO REPLACE TWO PARTS AND IT WILL COST ME ABOUT $1200. I GOOGLED IT AND I FOUND OUT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO DRIVE SONATA HAVE SAME ISSUE. IF IT HAPPENS BEFORE 60000 MILES, WARRANTY COVERS IT, UNFORTUNATELY MY SONATA RUNS ABOUT 73000 MILES. THERE ARE MANY SONATA OWNERS HAVE SAME ISSUE SO I BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH SONATA SINCE THEY WERE MADE. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM, SO MANY SONATA OWNERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THEIR MONEY FOR IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL BOLT FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TWELVE DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE HAD A TIRE ROTATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
TAKATA INFLATORS: HAD A CAR FIRE FROM FUEL LINE PER FIRE DEPT INFORMATION. I WAS ON THE 405 WEST BOUND FWY WHEN I STARTED TO SMELL GAS AND THE FRONT HOOD OF THE CAR I NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING OUT. I GOT OUT OF THE FWY AND THEN PARKED THE CAR, WHEN SOMEONE DRIVING OF THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION YELLED FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RAN OUT TO THE SIDE WALK WITHIN A FEW MINUTES THE CAR WHEN UP IN SMOKE AND THEN IT EXPLODED TWICE. PEOPLE FROM THE SURROUNDING BUSINESSES CAME OUT TO SEE IF I WAS ALRIGHT. THE OWNER OF THE FLOWER NURSERY CAME OUT AND CALLED THE FIRE DEPT. THEY ARRIVED AND TURNED OUT THE FIRE.
WHEN I PLACE MY CAR IN PARK THE CAR IS,TELLING ME TO SHIFT TO PARK BUT I'M ALREADY IN PARK. MY CAR WILL TURN OFF BUT MY NAVIGATION SCREEN STAYS ON. ALSO THE ENGINE PUSH TO START/STOP LIGHT WON'T TURN OFF. IN ADDITION I AM UNABLE TO USE MY FAVORITE TO LOCK THE DOORS BECAUSE IT THINKS MY KEYS ARE STILL IN THE VEHICLE SO I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK IT. THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL OCCASIONALLY AND I HAVE TO GAS IT TO PICK UP SPEEDS AND I'VE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR TWO MONTHS.
AFTER LOSING POWER AND GETTING HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE, I TOOK CAR INTO DEALER. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE WASTE GATE FOR THE TURBO AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED WITH MY WRAP AROUND COVERAGE THAT I PAID EXTRA FOR. WITH THIS COMES THE POSSIBILITY OF A FIRS AS THE CAR WILL HEAT UP BECAUSE THE AIR CAN NOT ESCAPE. HYUNDAI SHOULD COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY AND AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER STORIES THE SAME AS MINE, A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI!!!
WITH HEADLIGHTS ENGAGED AT NIGHT (WITH HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN AUTO OR MANUAL) THE DASH LIGHTS WILL FLICKER AND HEADLIGHTS WILL MOMENTARILY GO OUT WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ENGAGED. THE LIGHTS WILL ALSO FLICKER OCCASIONALLY WITHOUT HAVING TURN SIGNAL ENGAGED. THE PARKING LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND STAY ON AFTER IGNITION IS TURNED OFF WITH HEADLAMP SWITCH IN AUTOMATIC MODE WHILE CAR IS PARKED.
WHEN DRIVING OVER 50 MPH STEERING WHEEL SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY, STEERING WHEEL MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHEN ANY SLIGHT MOVEMENT MADE OTHER THAN DRIVING STRAIGHT. I TOOK MY CAR TO BE EVALUATED AT MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER AND WAS GOD MY STEERING COLUMN WAS LOOSE AND THAT THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NEED REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS ISSUE IS AFFECTING THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE AND THE REPAIR WOULD BE AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THEY COULD GIVE NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THE STEERING COLUMN BECAME LOOSE ( MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT) I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS SPECIFIC YEAR MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. MY VIN # HAS HAD 12 SAFETY RECALLS SINCE PURCHASE. I FEEL THIS STEERING COLUMN PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED BY HYUNDAI. THANK YOU *TR
BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLIES ON THE CAR ON BOTH SIDES ARE DETERIORATED/MELTED. AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK ALL THE TIME. THEY GO ON AND OFF. THE LAMP ASSEMBLIES ARE "WORN " ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP AND NEED REPLACED AT A WOPPING 600 DOLLARS. THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND THEIR DEFECT IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP IS THE RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THIS UNDER WARRENTY. THEY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 85,000 ISH MILES ON IT AND THERE IS ON WAY THIS ASSEMBLY SHOULD HAVE PROBLEMS.DUE TO THEM JUST PUTTING A RECALL ON THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER AND HAVING IT FIXED TODAY I AM SURE THIS IS ALL LINKED TOGETHER SOMEHOW. IF I HIT A BUMP THE BREAKLIGHTS STOP WORKING THEN I WIGGLE THE BULB AND IT STARTS WORKING AGAIN. THEIR ARE SEVERAL OF THESE SAME COMPLAINTS THE INTERNET. THIS SHOULD BE PLACED ON THE RECALL LIST TOO. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AND THE POOR QUALITY OF CHEAP PARTS SHOULD BE REPLACED.
