CANT GET LIGHT TO WORK, HAVE REPLACE BULBS A FEW TIMES, AND HAVE TAKE IT TO AN ADVANCE AUTO PLACE WHERE THEY HAVE TOLD ME IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC WORK AND ENGINE NOT THE BULB. THE BULBS WERE FINE AND NOT BURNT OUT. HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES SINCE LAST OCTOBER 1ST WAS ONLY ONE HEAD LIGHT NOW AS OF THIS WEEKEND ITS BOTH.

WHEN MAKING LEFT TURN SIGNAL, IT TRIGGERED THE HEADLIGHT SHUT OFF ALONG WITH INTERIOR LIGHTING FOR THE SCREENS SHUTTING OFF, ALL OF THE LIGHTING WENT BACK ON AFTER A VERY SHORT OF PERIOD OF TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HOSES AND COIL SPRINGS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO ACT WEIRD. IT SEEMED LOOSE LIKE SOMEONE REMOVED A COMPONENT. I STATED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHAT OCCURED AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $500+ TO GET IT REPAIRED. THEY STATED IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. . I TOLD THEM THE ISSUE DIDNT OCCUR UNTIL I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN. I AM A MOTHER OF TWO INFANTS WHO COULD NOT AFFORD A REPAIR LIKE THAT. I BOUGHT THE HYUNDAI BECAUSE OF ITS SAFETY FEATURES AND GAS MILEAGE SO FAR EVERYTHING HAS BEEN A LIE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. I HATE DRIVING IT . THERE HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE I GOT THIS VEHICLE AND I FEAR THE SAFETY OF ME AND MY CHILDREN. THE STEERING WHEEL IS SO BAD THAT MY ENTIRE CAR RATTLES AND SHAKES WHENEVER I GET ON THE HIGHWAY. NOW THERE'S ANOTHER RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE SAME ISSUE I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP. I WANT OUT OF THIS VEHICLE AND INTO SOMETHING SAFER FOR MY CHILDREN. THEY STILL HAVEN'T MAILED ME THE CAMPAIGN TO GET MY ENGINE CHECKED. THIS RECALL WAS IN NOVEMBER 2015. HYUNDAI JUST NEEDS TO REIMBURSE EVERYONE AND TAKE THESE VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. THEY ARE LEMONS.
THE CAR STATED TO RUN HOT AS THE OIL WAS RUNNING INTO THE ANTI FREEZE POT THROUGH THE MOTOR WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY.
LIGHT IN BACK WINDOW KEEPS FLASHING AND BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP NEEDING REPLACED. ALSO JUST REPLACED A REAR CENSOR. OUR SON DRIVES BACK AND FORTH FROM COLLEGE THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS!

THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT DOES NOT CLICK IN THE BUCKLE. WHEN I PURCHASE THE CAR IN 2011 MY IGNITION KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME UNTIL INALLY IT GOT STUCK THERE 4 YEARS LATER IT STARTED AGAIN BUT DOESNOT HAPPEN WHEN AT THE DEALERSHIP.
CAR SUDDENLY DEVELOPED LOUD CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL SLIGHTLY OR GOING OVER BUMPY ROAD. STEERING ALSO FEELS VERY LOOSE; HAS A LOT OF PLAY IN IT. I TOOK THE CAR TO STERLING MCCALL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN HOUSTON, TEXAS THIS MORNING. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS IT'S PART NUMBER 56315-2K000-FFF THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER HYUNDAI HAS A LONG BACK ORDER FOR THAT PART, AND THEY'RE UNSURE WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE IT. I ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IF THE CAR WAS OK TO DRIVE BECAUSE I FELT IT WAS A DANGEROUS ISSUE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID HE CHECKED WITH HIS MANAGER AND THE CAR WAS PERFECTLY SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE PART CAME. IN. SO I'M DRIVING THE CAR BUT THE STEERING DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT.

AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED VIOLENTLY AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES THE FUEL GAUGE WILL SHOW THE CAR IS TOTALLY EMPTY AND THE FUEL WARNING LIGHT STARTS FLASHING EVEN IF THE CAR HAS OVER HALF A TANK. AFTER SOMETIME IT MIGHT GO BACK TO NORMAL. WHEN FLASHING EMPTY AND I GET GAS, THE TANK WILL TRIGGER THE PUMP THAT IT'S FULL AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF GALLONS AND THE GAUGE WILL SHOW THE TANK IS FULL. I HAVE STARTED RESETTING THE TRIP ODOMETER AFTER EACH GAS STATION VISIT, AND MAKING SURE I DON'T GO OVER 150 MILES.
STEERING WHEEL KNOCKS VIOLENTLY WHEN APPROACHING SPEED BUMPS AND FEEL VERY LOOSE WHEN MAKING A TURNS
PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT LATCH INTERMITTENTLY FAILS TO LATCH. IT PARTIALLY LATCHES BUT IF YOU PULL IT POPS OUT. NEED TO INSERT ABOUT 4 TO 5 TIMES AND TUG TO CONFIRM IT HOLDS. THIS WAS CHECKED BY HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER ON 10/8/15 AND THEY STATED THIS WAS NOT A WARRANTY ITEM ALTHOUGH NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE WAS A RESULT OF FAILURE.

SHIFT LEVER CABLE. 10/16/14: CODE P0106: MAP SENSOR. FLEXIBLE COUPLING-CLICKING SOUND & WOBBLING WHEN TURNING. TOLD ME I WAS OVER 70K. INDICATED I WAS UNDER 70K WHEN I MADE THIS APPT. MGR WAIVED COST. 2/26/15: STARTER-WOULD NOT START-TOWED. 5/15/15: REAR PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT-BULB BURNED OUT & MELTED INTO SOCKET. TAIL LAMP ALSO MELTED. TECH WAS ABLE TO HEAT & RESHAPE SOCKET. 8/3/15: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH-CAR DEAD AFTER WORK. INTERNAL MALFUNCTION & CAUSED BRAKE LIGHTS TO STAY ON. HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION. DECLINED ACCURATE AUTO TO LOOK FURTHER AS CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I WILL TAKE IT TO HUB. IT IMPROVED. 8/25/15: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. SEVERE HESITATION-ALMOST REAR-ENDED FELT LIKE IT WOULD STALL (TECH NOTICED). INFORMED ACCURATE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I WILL TAKE IT TO HUB. HESITATION IMPROVED. 8/27/15: DIAG TESTING-HUB WAIVED COST OF DIAG TESTING-NO CODES FOUND. UNABLE TO DUPLICATE HESITATION. HESITATION OCCURRED WHEN LEAVING. 9/21/15: BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH-BRAKE LIGHTS ON. DRIVE SIDE BRAKE LIGHT IS OUT. HESITATION WORSE-FELT AS IF IT WOULD STALL! DRIVER SIDE BRAKE LAMP BULB. DRIVER SIDE TAIL LAMP OVERHEATED & WARPED. EVENTUALLY REPLACE TAIL LAMP ASSEMBLY. DECLINED FOR ACCURATE TO DO FURTHER TESTING ON THE HESITATION AS THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO I WILL TAKE IT BACK TO HUB. HESITATION IMPROVED. TO DATE, STILL DOES NOT RUN SMOOTH.

LOUD CLICKING COMING FROM MY STEERING COLUMN WHEN VEHICLE REACHES BETWEEN 65 AND 75 MPH. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AS WELL.
WHILE DRIVING IN PEAK TRAFFIC MY 2011 SONATA SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC. TOTAL ENGINE SHUT DOWN. WITH CONGESTED TRAFFIC, I WAS VERY MUCH DISTURBED THAT SOMEONE COULD HAVE REAR ENDED ME. COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO START. AFTER SITTING IN TRAFFIC FOR A WHILE, VEHICLE STARTED BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO NORMAL SPEED UNTIL AFTER MOVING A WHILE. MY VEHICLE IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT BEING A FEMALE FOR FEAR THAT IT MAY PUT ME DOWN AGAIN. I HAVE SEEN FORUMS WHICH DESCRIBE SIMILAR INSTANCES HAPPENING TO OTHERS WITH THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR. PLEASE ADVISE! THANKS...
THERE ARE OPEN FACTORY RECALLS ON THIS CAR AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER TO FIX THE DEFICIENCIES BEFORE IT GETS TO BECOME AN ISSUE OF POTENTIAL PHYSICAL HARM ON THE ROADWAY. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE FRONT SPRING JUST BROKE A SECTION OFF ABOUT A FOOT LONG, NOW DRIVES DANGEROUSLY BRAKES, TRANSMISSION, ENGINE, HEAD LAMPS, SUSPENSION
THE FRONT BRAKES ON OUR HYUNDAI SONATA FAILED 9/17/15 FORCING MY DAUGHTER OFF THE ROAD USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. THIS IS A RESULT OF ON-GOING BRAKE PROBLEMS DATING BACK TO WHEN WE PURCHASED THIS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CAR 11/25/13. HYUNDAI REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR, SO WE PAID TO HAVE BRAKE PADS, ROTORS AND CALIPERS REPLACED. THIS IS THE 3RD SET OF BRAKES WE'VE PAID TO REPLACE IN LESS THAN 12,000 MILES. AFTER NUMEROUS CALLS AND CORRESPONDENCE WITH HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIRS EXPLAINING THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE BRAKE SYSTEM, THEY DID PAY FOR THE CALIPERS BUT REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE OTHER COMPONENTS. THE FRONT BRAKES HAD GRINDING NOISE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND ONLY LASTED 2,743 MILES (DEALER TOLD US THIS CPO CAR HAD BRAND NEW BRAKES), THE SECOND SET ONLY LASTED 9,856 MILES. SINCE THE CALIPER WAS REPLACED 9/21/15, THERE IS NO MORE GRINDING. IT SEEMS CLEAR THAT THE DEFECTIVE CALIPER CAUSED THE PAD AND ROTOR FAILURE, BUT HYUNDAI DENIES THIS. WHEN SPEAKING WITH HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIRS, THEY SAID 1)THEY HAD NO RECORD OF US OWNING THE CAR, 2) HAD NO RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND 3) WE DID NOT PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY (WE DID). I SUBSEQUENTLY FOUND ON THE HNTSB WEBSITE THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA BRAKES (ATTACHED) INVOLVING THE BRAKE CALIPERS. HYUNDAI HAS BEEN DISHONEST AND DECEITFUL DURING THIS ORDEAL. I HAVE SPENT MORE MONEY ON REPAIRING IT AND IT STILL DRIVES THE SAME. I HAVE READ ONLINE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE POWER STEERING.
