SINCE MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA SE TURBOS HAS BEEN NEW IT PULLS TO THE LEFT. SO BAD THAT IF I TAKE MY HANDS OFF THE STEERING WHEEL FOR 1.5 SECONDS AT 55MPH MY CAR DRIFTS COMPLETELY TO THE LEFT LANE . THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE DEALER HAS LOOKED AT AN WORKED ON IT 4 TIMES,REPLACE TIRES, REBALANCED TIRES, REPLACED STRUTS, REALIGNED CAR, EVEN DID A ROAD FORCE WHEEL BALANCE, NOTHING HELPS AND THE FACTORY SENT AN ENGINEER WHO CLAIMS THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM WITH HIS STATEMENT IS THAT IS THAT I HAVE SEVERAL VIDEO TAPES AND WITNESSES OF IT DOING IT AND I TOOK THE SERVICE MANGER FOR A RIDE SO HE CAN EXPERIENCE IT. I CURRENTLY JUST STARTED A LEMON LAW CASE ON IT. WANT THIS FIXED OR A SONATA THAT DOESN'T DO THIS. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN CARS BUILT IN A CERTAIN TIME FRAME. THEY WON'T ADMIT THAT BUT I FOUND THAT OUT FROM RELIABLE INSIDE INFO. HAVE OWNED ABOUT 10 NEW CARS IN MY LIFE AND NONE OF THEM EVER DID THIS. *TR
I WAS EXITING ONE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY ONTO ANOTHER. EXIT RAMP DIRECTION WAS MISJUDGED AND CAR HIT A GUARD RAIL. THERE WAS A FRONTAL AREA CRASH CAUSING IN EXCESS OF $14,000 DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. NOT ANY OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED DURING THE ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH OR MORE THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES AND MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ALSO PERFORMED AND ALIGNMENT TO THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE, STATED THAT IT WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY AND THAT IT WAS ALSO DRIVING WITHIN THE SPECIFICATIONS OF THE DESIGN. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE DEALER INFORMED THEM THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PERFORMING WITHIN THE CORRECT SPECIFICATIONS AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,200.
THE VEHICLE IS A 2011 SONATA TURBO LIMITED. THE VEHICLE HAS A STEADY PULL TO THE LEFT DURING ACCELERATION WHICH AFFECTS THE VEHICLES ABILITY TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE ROADWAY. AT HIGHER SPEEDS IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE AND IN MY OPINION A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE VEHICLES QUICK JERKY MOTION AND STRONG PULL TO THE LEFT IF YOU SHOULD LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IT IS NOT AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE DRIVES STRAIGHT WHEN YOU ARE NOT ACCELERATING . IT'S CONSTANT FATIGUE ON THE DRIVER'S ARMS MAINTAINING PROPER STEERING AS A RESULT OF THE PULL.
2011 SONATA 2.0T LIMITED PULLS HARD TO THE LEFT. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
PICKED UP NEW SONATA GL WITH 58KM ON IT NOW HAS 96KM INTERIOR LIGHTS FLICKER AND CLICK ON AND OF BRIGHTLY. HEAD LIGHTS ALSO FLASH AT SAME TIME. CAR IS UNDER 3 HOURS OLD. ALREADY CALLED DEALER AND THERE FIRST THING IN THE AM. *TR
BRAND NEW VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT AT ALMOST ALL TIMES AND AT ALL SPEEDS. IT IS MORE APPARENT THE FASTER THE CAR IS MOVING. E.G. IF THE CAR IS MOVING AT 70MPH UNDER CRUISE CONTROL AND IS POINTED SLIGHTLY RIGHT, LETTING GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITHIN 5 SECONDS. THIS OCCURS ON ALL ROADS IN ALL LANES AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AFFECTED BY THE CROWN OF THE ROAD. AT THESE SPEEDS IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE STEERING WHEEL VISIBLY POINTED TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER OR IF YOU LET GO OF THE STEERING WHEEL, AN ACCIDENT WILL QUICKLY OCCUR. *TR
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA CAST A HORIZONTAL SHADOW APPROX 100FT IN FRONT OF THE CAR ON LEVEL PAVEMENT. EVERYTHING ABOVE THIS LINE IS COMPLETELY UNILLUMINATED. WHEN YOU TRAVEL UP AND DOWN HILLS AND MINOR ROAD GRADE IMPERFECTIONS, THIS BLACK SHADOW COMES DOWN AND COMPLETELY BLOCKS HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION TO JUST A FEW FEET IN FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND DISCONCERTING WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. IT IS A FUNDAMENTAL DESIGN FLAW IN THE HEADLIGHT SYSTEM OF THIS CAR, AND HYUNDAI SHOULD RE-DESIGN THE HEADLIGHTS ON A RE-CALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS. *TR
NO CRASHES OR INJURIES BUT THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THEM IF THIS ISSUE ISN'T SOLVED. IN ALL CASES MY (AND A LOT OF OTHERS) 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA WILL PULL LEFT PRETTY BADLY. THE FAILURE HAS BEEN ON THE CAR EVER SINCE I PICKED IT UP WITH AROUND 200 MILES ON IT. THE PULL NEVER GOES AWAY AND IT DOESN'T MATTER THE ROAD SURFACE YOU'RE ON. I'M NOT SURE HOW TO REPAIR IT BUT I'D ASSUME IT'S SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE SUSPENSION OR STEERING. EITHER WAY, THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE BECAUSE EVEN TAKING YOUR HAND OFF THE WHEEL FOR A SPLIT SECOND WILL RESULT IN THE WHEEL TURNING LEFT AND THE CAR TO START TRACKING INTO ONCOMING. *TR
ONE DAY AFTER PURCHASING A NEW HYUNDAI SONATA 2011 NOTICED THAT CAR CONSISTENTLY PULLS TO THE LEFT IRRESPECTIVE OF ROAD CROWN ETC. RETURNED TO DEALER WHO DID FRONT END ALIGNMENT. PROMPTLY RETURNED CAR AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL MILES FROM SERVICE FACILITY AS THE LEFT PULL WAS STILL PROMINENT. DRIVING A SONATA 2011 LOANER AND ALSO NOTICING A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. *TR
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA TURBO LIMITED WITH 6 MILES ON IT. AS SOON AS I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT, IT PULLED TO THE LEFT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I'VE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. FIRST THEY REPLACED A FRONT STRUT SO NOW I HAVE MISMATCHED STRUTS, THEN ALIGNED IT SO THAT THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WAS SET AT A CAMBER OF -0.8 DEGREES WHILE THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS SET AT -0.2 DEGREES. AFTER ALL THESE BANDAIDS, THE CAR STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT, ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP AND HYUNDAI KEEP TELLING ME THE CAR IS IN SPEC AND DRIVES STRAIGHT. *TR
2011 SONATA 2.0T LIMITED (200MILES ON ODO) - MY CAR HAS A LEFT PULL AT ALL TIMES AND IS INCREDIBLY PRONOUNCED AT HIGHER SPEEDS. IF YOU LOOSEN YOUR GRIP ON THE WHEEL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT TAKES NO MORE THAN 2-3 SECONDS TO COMPLETELY LEAVE THE ROADWAY. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE ISSUE ONCE ALREADY AND THEY SAID IT WAS "FIXED". THEY ROTATED FRONT TIRES, CHECKED ALIGNMENT, FLASHED NEW ECM SOFTWARE AND ADJUSTED SOME SOFTWARE PARAMETERS. THE ISSUE IS JUST AS BAD AS BEFORE THE "FIX". HUGE SAFETY RISK. *TR
CAR PULLS TO LEFT 90% OF THE TIME WHILE DRIVING, SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS UNABLE TO FIX IT AS EVERYTHING IS ALIGNED CORRECTLY. IT IS UNSAFE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF YOU TAKE YOU HAND OF THE WHEEL WITHIN 3 SECONDS YOU WILL BE IN THE NEXT LANE TO YOUR LEFT OR OFF THE ROAD. *TR
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA (NEW IN NOVEMBER 2010), FROM DAY ONE EXCESSIVE DRIFTING TO THE LEFT THAT IS MORE NOTICEABLE AT 60 MPH OR HIGHER, BUT OCCURS AT ALL SPEEDS. DEALERSHIP HAS ALIGNED IT 3 TIMES AND ROTATED WHEELS TO NO BENEFIT. THEY CLAIM IT IS NORMAL. I HAVE FILED THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND DEFECT WITH HYUNDAI CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON 03-16-11. THEY CLAIM TO HAVE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS, WHICH HAS TO BE A TOTAL LIE BECAUSE OF THE MANY FORUMS ON THE INTERNET SQUAWKING ABOUT THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUE. THERE VIDEOS NOW POSTED OF THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED BY 03-22-11. THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AS YOU NEED ONLY REMOVE YOUR HAND FROM THE WHEEL FOR A SPLIT SECOND AND THE LANE DRIFTING STARTS. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO TAKE LEFT HANDED HIGHWAY EXITS WITHOUT HAVING MY HANDS ON THE WHEEL AN PLEASE NOTE-THESE ARE NOT GRADUAL SWEEPERS BUT 30 TO 40MPH RAMPS!. MY RECENTLY LICENSED 17YR OLD DRIFTED SLIGHTLY AND STARTED TO CROSS INTO AN ONCOMING VEHICLE TRAVELING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THAT WAS RIDING CLOSE TO THE CENTER LINE. THANK GOD MY WIFE WAS WITH HER TO PROVIDE CORRECTIVE DIRECTIONS. HOPEFULLY NO ONE AS BEEN INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THIS DEFECT! HELP! *TR
I BOUGHT A SONATA LIMITED TURBO IN DECEMBER, 2010. RIGHT FROM THE START IT PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT AND SAID THEY WANTED IT BACK TO REPLACE A CAMBER BOLT. ALSO THEY SAID THAT HYUNDAI WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. BEFORE THE BOLT CAME IN, THEY TOLD ME THAT HYUNDAI WAS NOT RECOMMENDING THE CAMBER BOLT ANY MORE, BUT THE LATEST VERSION OF THE LEFT FRONT STRUT. THEY REPLACED THE STRUT BUT THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I FINALLY CAME TO THE OPINION THE PROBLEM IS NOT IN THE SUSPENSION AT ALL. IT IS CLEAR MORE POWER IS BEING SENT TO THE LEFT WHEEL. THIS IS CLEAR UNDER SEVERAL CONDITIONS: ON ACCELERATION IT WILL BE PULLING HARD BUT IF THE ACCELERATOR IS RELEASED THE CAR STRAIGHTENS OUT. WHEN BRAKING AND THUS LITTLE OR NO POWER IS BEING APPLIED TO THE WHEELS, THERE IS NO NOTICEABLE PULL. WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND GOING DOWNHILL ' COASTING, BASICALLY ' THE PULL IS LIGHT, BUT AS THE ROAD CHANGES AND STARTS TO GO BACK UPHILL, IT PULLS HARDER AND HARDER, VARYING IN RELATION TO HOW HARD THE CAR IS WORKING TO GET UP THE HILL. THE WORST IS WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. IT PULLS SO HARD THAT IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS RELEASED, IT LITERALLY 'SNAPS' FIVE TO TEN DEGREES TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR IS ON THE SHOULDER IN TWO SECONDS. THE STEERING WHEEL IN THIS CAR IS VERY 'DRY' AND IT IS EASY TO LOSE GRIP. ONE HAS TO GRIP SO TIGHTLY THAT IT IS QUITE FATIGUING TO DRIVE THIS CAR. IF A PERSON LOST GRIP OF THE WHEEL THEY COULD EASILY BE IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE THEY RECOVERED, OR EVEN DUE TO THE RECOVERY, AS IT WOULD BE VERY EASY TO OVER-RECOVER AND GO TOO FAR RIGHT. THE TIRES ARE WEARING ABNORMALLY WITH ONLY A FEW THOUSAND MILES ON THEM. ONE DAY, A TIRE IS GOING TO BURST AND THERE IS GOING TO BE A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AS IS, AND HYUNDAI NEEDS TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION. IF THAT MEANS THEY NEED TO BE FORCED INTO IT BY NHTSA, THEN NHTSA, PLEASE GET TO WORK ON THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
THE HORN ON MY 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA IS NOT LOUD AT ALL. I HONK AT PEOPLE AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA I AM HONKING AT THEM. ITS VERY QUIET AND HIGH PITCH. THIS COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF THE HORN WAS SERIOUSLY NEEDED ON A HIGHWAY OR SOMETHING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 TO 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD PULL TOWARDS THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE WHEELS REALIGNED AND THE SENSORS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43.

AT VARIOUS TIMES, WHEN FILLING THE CAR WITH GAS, A VERY STRONG GAS SMELL IS IN THE CAR CABIN. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE ANY COMMON PRECIPITATING FACTORS. HAPPENS SPORADICALLY WHEN ADDING VARIOUS AMOUNTS OF GAS. *TR

THE CAR PULLS TO THE LEFT. DID SO STRAIGHT OFF THE LOT. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AND ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED AS WELL AS SWITCHING THE LEFT FOR THE RIGHT TIRES. CAR STILL PULLS LEFT, MOST NOTIBLY ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.0T PULLS TO LEFT AT NORMAL SPEEDS DURING NORMAL DRIVING. THIS IS NOT A "TORQUE-STEER" ISSUE (THE TENDENCY OF FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE CARS TO VEER UNDER ACCELERATION DUE TO UNEVEN TORQUE TO THE FRONT WHEELS). EVEN ON CRUISE CONTROL, IF YOU DON'T APPLY CONSTANT "RIGHT" CORRECTION, THE CAR WILL VEER LEFT. THE CROWN OF THE ROAD DOES NOT STOP THIS, NOR IS IT A WIND ISSUE. IF YOU LET THE WHEEL GO, THE CAR WILL CHANGE LANES TO THE LEFT (OR VEER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC!) WITHIN 10 SECONDS. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES AND WHILE THEY ARE VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE, HAVE NO SOLUTION. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND A SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD. PLEASE INITIATE A FORMAL INQUIRY. SAME ISSUES AS OTHER COMPLAINTS, ENGINEERS (2 OF THEM) SAID CAR IS IN SPEC AND FINE, PULLING GETTING WORSE WITH MILES, 4400., THEY ACT LIKE I AM MAKING THIS UP EVERY TIME, DEALER THAT I GOT VEHICLE FROM GAVE UP, AND WILL NOT ADDRESS THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE ANYMORE. *TR
I HAVE A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA SE. THIS VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT. I CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE IN ALL TIRES AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR ABOUT 16 HOURS AND TIRE PRESSURE WAS THE SAME IN EACH TIRE AND AT THE CORRECT PRESSURE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THE VEHICLE IS IN SPEC AND NO ISSUE FOUND. HOWEVER, IT STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. THIS PULL IS MORE NOTICEABLE AT SPEEDS ABOVE 60MPH. WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IN ORDER TO DRIVE STRAIGHT THE DRIVER MUST TURN THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO RIGHT. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS VEHICLES AND THIS IS NOT NORMAL. *TR
I BOUGHT BRAND NEW 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.0T LIMITED ON 02/23/2011. WHENEVER I DRIVE IT,I CAN FEEL THE PULL TO THE LEFT,MOSTLY ON HIGHWAYS. I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY PUT EFFORT TO BRING STEERING TO THE CENTER. IT CAN BE DANGEROUS AT A TIME WHEN VEHICLE IS NEXT TO YOU OR WHEN YOU ARE CHANGING THE LANE OR WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING ON LEFT MOST LANE. *TR
I DROVE TO THE LOCAL TOM THUMB STORE AND WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR WAS ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEN IT SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AND THE ENGINE SPONTANEOUSLY WENT TO FULL THROTTLE. I MASHED DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDDLE AS THE CAR JUMPED THE CURBED AND CRASHED THROUGH THE STORE FRONT. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE UNTIL I SWITCHED OFF THE KEY. SKID MARKS WERE EVIDENT ON THE PAVEMENT WHERE THE BRAKES TRIED TO HOLD THE CAR WITH THE ENGINE RACING. THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL INVESTIGATOR DID NOT ISSUE A CITATION STATING THAT THERE "WAS AN OBVIOUS VEHICLE MALFUNCTION".

THE HORN ON THE 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA IS SO WEAK IT IS INAUDIBLE WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THE DEALER ORDERED A NEW ONE BUT TO NO AVAIL. MY SONATA WAS BUILT PRIOR TO THE SEPT. 2010 SWITCH TO A DUAL HORN. THE OLD HORN IS A HAZARD AND OFFER NO PROTECTION TO ALERT DRIVERS AS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS. THERE SHOULD BE A FIX BUT DEALER ADVISES THERE IS NONE THUS FAR. *TR
2011 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.0 TURBO, STEERING PULLS TO LEFT EXTREMELY HARD. HAS TAKEN CAR BACK TO DEALER THREE TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION. *TR
2011 SONATA GLS DRIFTS TO LEFT IMMEDIATELY UNLESS STEERING WHEEL IS CONSTANTLY HELD/STEERED TO RIGHT. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AT APPROXIMATELY 700 MILES, THEY ALIGNED ALL 4 WHEELS. CAR IS STILL DRIFTING LEFT, WILL RETURN TO DEALER FOR FURTHER ACTION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD! PLEASE INVESTIGATE!
IT HAPPENED IN ONE AFTERNOON IN A COMPANY PARKING LOT WHEN ALL THE EMPLOYEES WERE LEAVING FOR THE WEEKEND. THE EXIT LINE WAS BACKED UP AND WHILE WAITING IN LINE FOR TRAFFIC TO CLEAR, ANOTHER EMPLOYEE BACKED UP HER CAR FROM THE PARKING SPACE. ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS MOVING SLOWLY, THE DRIVER WAS PAYING ATTENTION TO THE OTHER CARS PARKED ON SIDES BUT FAILING TO ASSURE THAT THERE IS ENOUGH SPACE BEHIND. IMMEDIATLY I NOTICED THAT THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR A COLLISION AND I ACTIVATED THE HORN FOR AT LEAST 15 SECONDS. UNFORTUNATLY THE HORN WAS NOT LOUD ENOUGH FOR THE OTHER DRIVER TO HEAR IT (BY HER OWN ADMISSION THE HORN WAS INNAUDIABLE) AND THE COLISION COULD NOT BE AVOIDED. AS A RESULT THE CARS FRONT RIGHT FENDER WAS SLIGHTLY BENDED. THE DAMAGED RESULTED WAS VALUED AT $708. NEVERTHELESS, SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR THERE WERE AT LEAST FIVE OTHER INCIDENTS IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC WHEN THE HORN WAS NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS. *TR
STEERING COMPONENT- ON 2/17/2011 I PURCHASED A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.0T LIMITED TURBO. I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WHO ADVISED ME THAT HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE A DEFINITE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON ONE. HE SAID THAT IN THE INTERIM THERE ARE SEVERAL ITEMS THEY CAN PERFORM IN AN EFFORT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BUT THERE WOULD BE NO GUARANTEE THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE ISSUE EITHER COMPLETELY OR EVEN NOMINALLY. THE WAY I LEFT IT WITH HIM WAS THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THEIR REGIONAL HYUNDAI SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE TO SEE WHAT STEPS THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE, AS HE HAD DONE WITH NUMEROUS OTHER CUSTOMERS ALREADY AND GET BACK TO ME TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO BEGIN A REGIMEN OF REPAIRS THAT WOULD HOPEFULLY AT THE VERY LEAST IMPROVE IT SOMEWHAT, BUT "AGAIN" POINTED OUT THAT THERE WAS NOT A DEFINITE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE TO DATE, LEAVING ME TOTALLY AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE EVENT I (EVEN FOR A SECOND) DON'T TOTALLY CONCENTRATE ON HOLDING THE STEERING WHERE IN A METHOD THAT WOULD KEEP THE CAR FROM VEERING TO THE LEFT INTO ANOTHER LANE POTENTIALLY CAUSING WHAT COULD EASILY BECOME A SERIOUS AND EVEN FATAL ACCIDENT. *TR

AT TIMES THE DRIVER IS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN CONSTANT PRESSURE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT. EVERY TIME I COMPLAIN TO FAIRFAX HYUNDAI, THEY DENY THAT ANYTHING COULD BE WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR DALLAS FREEWAY WHEN A TRUCK STARTED CHANGING LANES WITHOUT VISIBLY SEEING ME. I ATTEMPTED TO USE THE HORN ONLY TO DISCOVER IT DID NOT WORK. AS SOON AS I LEFT THE CAR LOT AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, NOTICED THAT STEERING FELT LOPSIDED AND WAS SEEMINGLY A BIT HARDER TO TURN AND HOLD TO THE RIGHT THAN THE LEFT. THE FIRST TIME I LET MY HANDS FREE FROM THE WHEEL THE VEHICLE BEGAN MOVING TO THE LEFT. THE VEHICLE NOW SEEMS TO CONSISTENTLY PULL ITSELF TO THE LEFT EXCEPT AT BEWILDERING TIMES WHEN CARRYING PASSENGERS OR GOING OVER SPECIFIC ROAD CROWN CONDITIONS AND PURPOSELY MANIPULATING THE STEERING WHEEL TO 'HOLD' ITSELF A BIT TO THE RIGHT. WHEEL ALWAYS REVERTS TO PULLING ITSELF BACK TO THE LEFT AND STAYING THERE. IT IS A VERY UNSTABLE FEELING TO HAVE TO FIGHT THIS PHENOMENON. THERE HAS BEEN AN ODOR OF GASOLINE ENTERING THE PASSENGER CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED IT STARTED AT MY LAST GAS FILL UP. I DID NOT TOP OFF THE TANK. THE PUMP SHUT OFF WHEN FULL, AND I STOPPED PUMPING. THIS ODOR STARTS WHEN SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT AND STAYS IN THE CABIN UNTIL I'M MOVING AGAIN. HYUNDAI OF NEW PORT RITCHEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ERROR CODE IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THEREFORE, THEY FELT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. AFTER A FEW DAYS AND JUST A FEW HUNDRED MILES ON THE CAR, I ATTEMPTED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE FOR A REFUND. THE DEALER REFUSED TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AND WOULD NOT RETURN MY MONEY. DRIVER SHIFTED FROM AUTOMATIC 'DRIVE' GEAR TO SHIFTRONIC AND REALIZED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN 4. NEITHER THE MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COULD CHANGE THE GEAR. DRIVER IMMEDIATELY TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER. DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS STUCK IN GEAR 4, BUT TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO RESET THE TRANSMISSION BY TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING. BASED ON THE COMPUTERIZED ERROR CODES, DEALER REPLACED THE BODY VALVE HARNESS AND SOLENOID. *TR
THE PASSENGER SEAT IS TO LOW AND THE SHOULDER HARNESS OF THE SEAT BELT WILL LAYS ACROSS THE NECK OF ANYONE 62 INCHES OR SHORTER. THE SEAT BELT SHOULDER HARNESS WILL NOT ADJUST TO A PERSON OF 62 INCHES OR LESS FORCING THEM TO USE A CUSHION OF SOME TYPE TO POSITION THEM HIGHER IN THE SEAT FOR THE HARNESS TO BE EFFECTIVE. *TR
