Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)While traveling on a rough road I experienced a side curtain airbag deployment on our Ineos Grenadier. There was no impact or roll over. There was only one person in the vehicle, the driver, yet both the drivers side and passenger side airbags deployed along with the drivers seatbelt locking mechanism. The airbags never deflated, leaving the driver trapped in the vehicle. To exit the vehicle a knife had to be used to deflate the drivers side airbag. Over one hour later the passenger side airbag had never deflated and also required a knife to puncture it. If there was an actual roll over and water was involved, I fear that the occupants of the vehicle could not get out. Something is faulty with this system.
