While driving at speed, vehicle electrical went haywire. Headlights went on and off. Horn sounding on and off, Wipers and washers going on and off, HVAC blower on and off. Pulled over vehicle and turned off and removed key and it still remained running, all horn, lights, and wipers still going on and off. Opened hood, removed negative battery terminal, and with that, car still ran! Was several minutes and car finally shut itself off. Scary that the car went completely haywire and would not shut off, even with key out, and battery disconnected!
The ABS computer brake module is bad in my jeep. It needs a replacement. Confirmed by Chrysler Jeep dealership. However, Chrysler does not offer a replacement module. ABS does not work on my vehicle. This is a huge safety issue and is common problem among this year Jeep. Chrysler shouldn’t be allowed to NOT have a replacement OEM ABS module. Huge safety risk and lawsuit
I turned the key to turn on my car and the airbag deployed.
I was driving down the road in my 2008 wrangler and all of the sudden every light flashed on my dash board then it felt like I could not shift gears then smoke came pouring out of my air vents. I pulled over and got out realizing it was on fire. Climbed in to save my dog just before the fire got huge. My entire Jeep is gone.
This is a common flaw with the abs brake system on many Chrysler Fiat vehicles and Chrysler fiat is doing NOtHING. My Jeep ABS computer module went bad . No damage, no off roading. Driving on highway and all the brake/abs/stability control lights lit up on my dash. The abs showed code “c2200” bad abs module and must replace. However Chrysler stopped making these …in back order for years. You have to either get a junk yard part or send your computer away to be Refurbished. How can Chrysler be allowed to not have a critical safety part in stock…and not cover this in a lifetime warranty. ?? I’ve never had any other vehicle where the abs computer goes bad . This is insane. And dealer can’t locate the part in the USA because Chrysler doesn’t have them.
April 22, 2025 my 2008 Jeep lost power. There was a sequence, where one warning light was followed by another, followed by a complete loss of power. I charged the battery, car started up, I drove to dealer (a 5-minute trip), and by my arrival the Jeep had again lost all power. Dealer checked the vehicle, and told me the battery and charging system were fine, but the ABS brake modulator was draining the power. They have not been able to get another modulator and the vehicle is still at the dealer (Crown Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Dublin, OH). Losing power precipitously presents a safety hazard.
ABS Module Yes As I was driving and going to turn left into a shopping center and stepped on the break, I had none, I did almost crash. It happened all of a sudden out of nowhere no lights, no icons lit. The problem has been confirmed by a dealer stating that this is a nationwide issue that’s currently going on that the parts are back ordered because there is nothing in production right now for the part. The vehicle is not drivable.
The vehicle requires an ABS module. I have been waiting for over 4 months for part availability. According to dealer they dont have any ETA on availability and have been told it may not be something they ever go back to producing. My state requires safety inspection which it will not pass due to this issue. Seems to me that someone needs to be responsible to make a part for these issues.
Defective Wheel Spacers Causing Vehicle Failure and Safety Hazard While driving, the front driver-side wheel spacer failed, leading to the complete detachment of the wheel from my vehicle. This unexpected and catastrophic failure left us stranded on the highway for several hours, waiting for roadside assistance. Additionally, the front end of the Jeep sustained significant damage, requiring extensive repairs. Fortunately, we were able to bring the vehicle to a stop without injuries, but the situation could have resulted in a far more serious accident. Upon further inspection by road side assistance, it became evident that the wheel spacer had completely failed, raising concerns about the safety and reliability of this product. I immediately contacted Yitamotor to seek an explanation, reimbursement for damages, and information on whether this issue is a known defect in their product. In my formal request to the company, I outlined the following concerns: Investigation: I requested a thorough investigation into why the wheel spacer failed and whether similar failures have been reported. The supplier has no interest in investigating the failure. The part failed without warning. There are no direct sensors or indicators for this particular part. They claim the part is made of forged metal.
The fuel filler neck has an issue. When I refuel, I have to stop the pump manually or the filler cap will overflow. This creates a significant risk for fire or explosion unless I very carefully monitor how much fuel I am putting in the vehicle. I see several other owners experiencing this issue from online information I'm reading. I feel that this is an issue which should be repaired by the manufacturer.
The ignition switch stays on after releasing key
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler equipped with Powerstop Brake Hoses, Part Number: (N/A). The contact stated that after installing the brake hoses to the rear driver’s and passenger’s side brake assemblies, there was smoke coming from the rear driver's side brake rotors while operating the vehicle due to brake fluid leaking from the hose. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24E053000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was not provided.
Have tried twice by phone to request the closest Jeep dealership recommended on the numerous recall cards mailed to have recalls fixed at Williams Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 1100 E Main st., Stigler, OK. 74462. Each contact with dealership to get appointment to fix recalls fixed the individual asks “what is the VIN number?” give requested info then ask “Did you purchase at our location?” No we did not was purchased in Texas when husband was on R&R from being deployed in Middle East. The person then states”Give good contact number and when the parts arrive will call to make appt to fix recalls.” This has been over six month period with no calls or resolution. I am [XXX] and need to have reliable and above all safe transportation for my spouse who retired 24 yrs active army to drive me. I have tried to be patient and polite that maybe he forgot or misplaced info but appears that since we did not purchase there they feel no need to fix our by law recalls. So any help from your end would be greatly appreciated. Don’t like making out any kind of complaint but need these recalls fixed or vehicle in question will remain parked due to the fact our recalls may or may not injure us and we are not willing to chance dying in a vehicle the manufacturer is responsible for those recalls. Thank you for your time and hope by this investigation this dealership will not refuse any requested recall fixes because of where it was purchased. Finally, due to this report will feel more comfortable going to another Jeep dealership due to repercussions of my filling this complaint. Thank you! The RHD Jeep Wranglers had a recall on all the clock springs. I had mine fixed, it lasted a year and then broke again. Every mail carrier I know has the same issue. I believe the recall needs to become a lifetime recall, not a singular recall. They are all failing again causing postal employees to be at risk for fatality with the airbag failing to deploy.
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission overheated, and the oil warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was driving on freeway noticed smoke behind jeep, I pulled over there was black smoke and fire coming from under hood on passenger side
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked while depressing the accelerator pedal. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or local dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,250.

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that has a lifetime powertrain warranty. Since I purchased the vehicle in 2008 I have maintained it exactly as required to keep the warranty valid. This includes the 5 year lifetime warranty powertrain inspections which are performed every 5 years. I have documented proof of the inspections. In January 2024 my ABS brakes failed and I went to my local dealership where I purchased the vehicle. The dealership service department told me that my ABS module failed with a code of C2200 ABS Module Internal Failure. the part number is 68030936-AB. The dealership said they ordered the part from the manufacturer. Since January 09, 2024 I have called the dealership about the ABS module. They told me I could drive the vehicle and that it would brake, but the antilock brakes would not work. This ABS module also controls the Electronic Stability Program, and that does not work either. Chrysler has not manufactured the broken part. Chrysler sold me the vehicle with a lifetime powertrain warranty and this part is included in the warranty. However, Chrysler has failed to provide a replacement part or offered another vehicle to safely drive.
My Wrangler had been parked in my driveway for about 5 hours. It tried to start by itself then cought fire. It's is a manual transmission with no remote start. The fire started on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
ABS brakes not working on my Jeep. Was told by dealer that it needs a new ABS module, but nobody has the part. How can I drive my vehicle when my ABS brakes are not working and you don't provide the part to fix it? The one dealer in Texas that has the part jacked up the price for it. That is price gouging, which is against the law. Chrysler is and will be responsible for any accident cause due to this issue.
On my 2008 jeep wrangler the driver’s rear drum hard brake line bursted completely and almost split in half, leaking fluid. The hard brake line follows the frame rail, and this breakage occurred at the 90° bend above the transmission cross support. My safety, my passengers safety, as well as others on the road were at risk when the brake failure occurred. While operating the vehicle on a decline, brake pedal began to sink to the floor and the “brake” e-brake warning indicator began flashing and dinging. There were no prior indications of the issue. Thankfully I was able to slow down my vehicle by shifting down and using my e-brake. Had vehicle towed and Private mechanic inspected and performed repairs, mopar/Chrysler no longes makes this part and a custom bent hard line had to be created. Attempted to contact Chrysler 3 times regarding the safety issue this posed, they referred me to the dealer 1st call. I spoke with a mechanic at my local dealer whom agreed with me that the hard line had no reason to break given the location of the damage and that it’s a non-wear item. The Mechanic suggested i call back the 1-800 number to continue with reporting my safety concerns to the manufacturers as there was nothing he could do at the dealership. 2nd call, the new representative also told me to call the dealer and when i asked for a supervisor to report my safety concerns, she hung up on me. The third call the rep said the exact same thing, however he sated a supervisor would call me back. I haven’t received a call back for a week.
Headlights stopped working. The Headlights are controlled by a computer. No relay, fuse, or anything that can be fixed at a parts store. We had to wait days for a computer to show up.
While pumping fuel the nozzle will continuously trip or spill gasoline back out of the fuel tank filler hose.
Vehicle while driving, wipers start, horn blows, washer fluid sprays, abs light goes on, engine dies making braking and steering impossible.
Car was purchased 1 hour prior to incident from a dealership. Car was in idle and was shifted to drive and automatically accelerated rapidly without foot on gas pedal and breaks did not work when breaks were forcefully applied during the incident. The car crashed into a house deck and went off the cement pad and crashed into trees in the yard. Unable to remove key from ignition, had to be placed in neutral to remove key. We had the car for less than an hour after purchase. Damage was sustained to the deck and significant damage to car, air bags did not deploy. Claim was immediately filed with insurance.
The TIPM shorts out then the wipers, start running, horn blares, windshield washer fluid sprays, lights flash. The only way to stop it is unhook the battery. This is so unsafe driving on the highway you cant see the road. I almost crashed trying to pull over. After doing some internet research this is so common. This should be a recall it is dangerous! I wont let my son drive it now.
airbag light goes on and off
Transmission pops out of first gear randomly. Was making a left turn across a 4 lane highway when transmission popped out this time. Thankfully this time oncoming traffic had enough time to slow down and not t-bone me. When this happens it feels as though I’ve been hit from behind and makes a very loud popping noise. Dealer aware of tbs 21-001-10 but vehicle is out of warranty period so have to pay out of pocket to have this well know safety issue fixed.
I own the Jeep for 6 months now and at each fill up, fuel gets spit out of f the filler neck at the end. I try running slow, manual and the noses in different position. The jeep dealer say, there is no problem or recall for my VIN. But there is a recall part :(CNNNX321AC Tube) available form Mopar, there don't sell to the public. I like to fix this problem for more than one reason. Environmental, wasting Fuel, damaging the paint and plastic, fire hazard and fuel smell on my closes. I am a retired senior master Car technician, German (Kraftfahrzeug mechaniker Meister)with 50 years experience.
TIPM/ all warning lights came on. Started with radio Turing on, wipers malfunctioning, lights coming on out of no where. Now vehicle will not stay on in addition battery will not stay charged.
When I go above 45 mph on a bumpy road, the Jeep starts wobble uncontrollably until I almost completely stop the vehicle. Replaced, all tires complete brake system. Still happening!
Engine compartment caught on fire with no warning. My family's lives were in danger. We escaped vehicle before front was engulfed in flames. Fire department had to put out fire.
While driving at 65mph my vehicle began to violently shake, and I had to come to a complete stop. This violent shaking happened four times in a 25 mile stretch of bumpy highway, all four times I had to come to a complete stop in fast moving traffic, that traffic was going at speeds of 65 to 70mph.
This has happened on more than 1 occasion. Driving on the highway and I lose power, the Jeep slows way down, the accelerator pedal is dead, and the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) light comes on. It does the same thing driving in town. Sometimes you can turn the vehicle off, wait a couple minutes, start it back up and it will be ok for a little bit. Sometimes it won’t. I have replaced some parts, read forums, communicated with a dealer service department and it doesn’t sound like there is a “fix” for this. This is very dangerous and someone could get seriously injured or killed.
On 07/16/2021 at approximately 1600 hundred the smoke detectors in the house began alarming. I immediately noticed smoke coming from the garage. After getting my 6 year old son safely out of the house I immediately called 911. The fire department arrived and took care of the situation. The entire engine compartment was burnt. Before all of this we arrived at the house and parked in the garage. Only 5 minutes went by between parking the Jeep and calling 911. During operation of the vehicle that day there was no indication of any issues. The Fire Inspector preformed his investigation. As of now I have not received the incident report. Once I do I will supply it. I am waiting to hear from the insurance company regarding when an adjuster will view the Jeep. Thank you.
Steering wheel shaking at about 50 mph. Then warning lights on dash came on ABS- ESP and BAS. I slowed down drove home and parked it. Can’t get into shop until next week. Jeep has less than 48,000 miles. Not safe to drive!
The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the horn, alarm, windows, and windshield wipers spontaneously engaged. There were several unknown warning lights flashing. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clockspring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact was then informed that the TIPM needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified if the failure, however, no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000. The VIN was not available.
WHEN FUELING VEHICLE OVERFLOW POURS OUT OF THE TANK AND ON TO THE VEHICLE AND GROUND WHEN FILLED. I'VE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 14 MONTHS AND HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE PURCHASED.
GAS GOING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND ON ME. ALSO THE JEEP JERKS SO BAD THAT I ALMOST HIT MY HEAD. THE TRANSMISSON WAS CHANGED 30,000 MILES AGAIN AND RUNS LIKE CRAP.
I WAS DRIVING MY JEEP WRANGLER 2008 AND STATED SHAKING SEVERELY WHICH WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. AFTER CONDUCTING SOME ONLINE RESEARCH I LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP WRANGLERS AND IT'S CALLED DEATH WOBBLE.
My Jeep just intermittently started the crank no start issue and gave code PO5013, incorrect immobilizer key. After extensive research I have found many Jeep owners to have this same problem and also found that Chrysler has confirmed it is a built in problem. After taking my Jeep to to dealer and having my keys checked along with the starter and ignition cylinder lock it is the (WCM) wireless control module that is the culprit of the crank but no start issue. This is an extremely unsafe problem due to my vehicle shutting down while driving on top of the other various problems the wcm has caused. Directions say to reset the WCM by pulling the IOD fuse for 30 seconds and then replacing however this method no longer works.
GAS OVERSPILLS FROM THE TANK. DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHEN FILLING CAUSING GAS TO SPLASH ON THE OWNER, VEHICLE, AND GROUND. HAPPENS EVERY TIME WE ATTEMPT TO FILL THE TRUCK UNLESS WE MANUALLY STOP ENTERING GAS BEFORE IT'S FULL.
6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION JUMPS OUT OF 1ST GEAR WHEN DRIVING
VEHICLE COMPONENTS BEGIN MALFUNCTIONING, WIPERS TURN ON, WIPER WASHER PUMP FLOODS WINDSHIELD, LIGHTS FLASH, HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY TURN OFF WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, HORN SOUNDS, CANNOT TURN VEHICLE OFF. TURN KEY TO OFF POSITION AND VEHICLE CONTINUES TO RUN CREATING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WIPERS AND WASHERS BLIND DRIVER RANDOMLY. ONLINE RESEARCH ALL POINTS TO KNOWN ISSUE WITH TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE THAT HAS WELL DOCUMENTED FAILURE RATE. THIS IS A HORRIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT DESERVES INVESTIGATION AND REMEDIATION.
THE DEFROST ON A JEEP WRANGLER IS VERY INEFFECTIVE AND POORLY DESIGNED. THE ONLY BLOWER FOR THE DEFROST IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDOW CAUSING THE SIDES OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD TO SEVERELY FREEZE UP AND BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER SUCH AS FOG, SLEET OR SNOW. BASICALLY ANY TYPE OF PRECIPITATION DURING WEATHER THAT IS BELOW FREEZING WILL CAUSE THIS WHICH RESULTS IN A SEVERE INABILITY TO SEE OUT OF THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED ON ANY ROAD AS LONG AS THERE IS PRECIPITATION AND TEMPS ARE BELOW FREEZING.
BRAKE LINE STARTED TO LEAK
THE HORN BLOWS ON ITS ON, THE WIPERS AND WASHERS COME ON BY THERE SELF, LIGHTS COME ON BY THERE SELF, AND THE ONLY WAY TO TURN THEM OFF IS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. IT HAPPENS MOVING OR STATIONARY.
