SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES AND BURNT TO THE GROUND.THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS CAUSED BY TRANSMISSION FLUID BOILING OUT OF A VENT AND HITTING THE HOT EXHAUST PIPE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V290000 (AIR BAGS) EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTIFICATION IN MARCH OF 2019. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND BEEPED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH HILLER JEEP RAM DODGE CHRYSLER (635 MILL STREET, MARION, MA 02738, (508) 538-1395) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,555. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
AFTER FUELING THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED X THE FUEL BACKFLOWS ALOT. THIS SEEMS DANGEROUS, AS IN WHAT IF A FIRE SPARKS UP AT THE GAS STATION PUMP.
AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE IS INITIALLY STARTED. WILL GO ON AND OFF AT ALL TIMES WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE. SOMETIMES WILL STAY OFF FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN COME ON. OTHER TIMES IT WILL STAY OFF FOR S SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN COME BACK ON.
GAS AND AIR SPIT/SPILL BACK OUT OF FUEL FILLER NECK TUBE WHEN REFUELING AT GAS STATION PUMP. GAS RUNS DOWN FENDER/FENDER FLARE. PROBLEM BEGAN AROUND 55-60,000 MILES. JEEP CONTINUES TO GIVE OFF STRONG GAS VAPOR ODOR WHEN PARKED IN GARAGE EVEN WEEKS AFTER REFUELING.
I EXPERIENCE THE "DEATH WOBBLE" DAILY. IT STARTS AROUND 45 MPH AND CONTINUES UNTIL I STOP. IT MAKES THE JEEP SHAKE AND HARD TO CONTROL. THE SHAKING IS SO BAD, IT WILL CAUSE DRINKS TO GET THROWN FROM THE CUPHOLDER. IT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE PAST YEAR OR SO.
WHEN YOU FILL UP THE GAS TANK, IT OVERFLOWS & SPIT GAS BACK OUT.
TIPM MODULE IS ACTIVATING THE WIPERS AND HEADLIGHTS. IS NOT ALLOWING TURN SIGNALS TO WORK AFTER DISCONNECTING BATTERY. DASH LIGHTS BLINK, ODOMETER WILL BLANK OUT FOR A SECOND AT TIMES.
FRONT AXLE (DIFFERENTIAL) OIL SEALS ARE LEAKING LUBE OIL QUICKLY. THERE ARE LEAK REPORTED ISSUES WITH THESE DANA 30; DANA 35; AND MY OWN RUBICON'S DANA 44 AXLE. THE AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING LUBE OIL FROM THE AXLE ENDS. AGAIN, THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY '08 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON AND ALSO TO MANY OTHER JEEP WRANGLER MODELS FROM 07-17 YEARS AS WELL AS REPORTED AND CONFIRMED BY OTHER OWNERS OF JEEP JK AND JKU MODELS 2017, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 09, 08, 07 MODELS. THERE SHOULD BE A GOVERMENT RECALL SINCE MANY OF THESE JEEPS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME AXLE LEAK ISSUES AS REPORTED. UNFORTUNATEDLY, FCA DOES NOT COVER THIS SIMPLE POWER TRAIN FIX SINCE MY VEHICLE IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY.
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK AT THE GAS STATION IF GAS PUMP IS ON HIGH FUEL BACKSPLASHES ON THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONGST MANY JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS. DEALERSHIP DENIES ANY PROBLEM. YOU ASK BELOW WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN WELL I WILL LIST ONE DATE BUT IT HAPPENS 50% OF THE TIME WHEN FILLING THE JEEP UP. I BOUGHT THE JEEP IN 2011 WITH 40,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN DOING IT EVER SINCE.
THERE IS A USED CAR DEALERSHIP IN PHOENIX ARIZONA CALLED PRIME AUTO, PHONE 602-737-3275. I AM WORKING WITH THE ARIZONA ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE AND HAVE (WITHIN JUST A FEW DAYS) COLLECTED STORIES FROM 3 OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES, BEING SOLD A USED CAR THAT WAS UNSAFE ON THE ROADWAYS - MY SITUATION WAS A DEATH WOBBLE IN A JEEP WRANGLER, BLINKERS MALFUNCTIONING, WIPER BLADES NOT WORKING PROPERLY - TWO OF THOSE ARE A LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALERSHIP (SELLER) TO ENSURE IN WORKING CONDITION AND THEY FAILED. THEY ALSO ATTEMPTED TO FRAUDULENTLY REPRESENT MY CARS TRADE IN VALUE BY SHOWING ME A KBB.COM PRICE THAT IS ONLY FOR CARS TRADED IN REQUIRING REPAIRS, I TRADED IN A NEAR NEW JEEP. IF THE AG'S OFFICE DOES NOT ACT ON THIS CLAIM I WOULD HOPE THAT YOUR OFFICE WOULD, OR AT LEAST WORK TOGETHER IN BRINGING CHARGES TO STOP PRIME AUTO FROM SELLING CARS UNTIL A FULL INVESTIGATION IS COMPLETE AND ALL PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS CONTACTED AND MADE AVAILABLE THEIR LEGAL REMEDIES FOR THE DEALERSHIPS ACTIONS IN SELLING UNSAFE VEHICLES THAT COULD POTENTIALLY HARM MULTIPLE, VICTIMS, NOT JUST THE BUYER. SINCE I PURCHASED THIS JEEP I HAVE HAD STARTING ISSUES WHERE THE JEEP JUST CLICKS AND WON'T TURN OVER. HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY, STARTER AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. SOMETIMES TAKES 5 - 8 ATTEMPTS AND SOMETIMES IT STARTS OTHER TIMES NOTHING. HAVE GOTTEN IT TOWED AND GOTTEN IT TO THE MECHANIC AND IT STARTS WHEN ARRIVED AT MECHANIC. THIS IS FRUSTRATING ON ALL ACCOUNTS AND TO ALL INVOLVED.
WHEN PRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON FROM THE KEY TRANSMITTER, THE LIGHTS, HORN, WIPERS AND WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID ALL START GOING OFF. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE SAME THING HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVED TO REVERSE. WHILE DRIVING, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STARTS FLASHING. PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED BY REPLACING THE TIPM. 2008 JEEP IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL FOR THE TIPM
WHILE TURNING RIGHT FROM A STOP SIGN ON TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH 55 MILE AN HOUR SPEED LIMIT I BEGAN TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC WHEN SUDDENLY THE TRANSMISSION JUMPED OUT OF FIRST GEAR CAUSING A LOUD BANGING AND SHIFTIER VIOLENTLY JUMPING BACKWARDS OUT OF MY HAND AND CAUSING MY JEEP TO STOP ACCELERATING ONLY A FEW FEET FROM THE STOP SIGN AND INTO TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY GET THE TRANSMISSION BACK INTO FIRST GEAR AND MERGE WITHOUT INCIDENT. THIS PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT FOR ALMOST 6 MONTHS AND NEVER COULD I GET IT TO HAPPEN WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN TO GET SERVICED FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE MORE I DROVE THE JEEP THE MORE OFTEN THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR, UNTIL DECEMBER OF 2018 WHEN IT WOULD JUMP OUT OF GEAR ALMOST EVERY TIME I STARTED FROM A DEAD STOP. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE ANYWHERE WITHOUT BEING NERVOUS THAT THE NEXT TIME I TRIED TO START FROM A DEAD STOP I WOULD EITHER BE BROADSIDED OR REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. I UNDERSTAND THAT JEEP HAS ISSUED A TECHNICAL BULLETIN FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT I HAVE WAITED FOR PARTS SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS REPAIR FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND POSSIBLY WILL BE IN IN ABOUT 10 MORE DAYS ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES ALL OF THEM FOR OVER 200,000 MILES EACH HAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH INTERNAL GEARS AND SYNCHRONIZERS. THE JEEP HAS BEEN SERVICED AND IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF NOT USED FOR TOWING OR ANY OTHER HEAVY LOADING. I DON'T BELIEVE I HAVE DONE ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY TO CAUSE THIS PROBLEM, I DO BELIEVE THAT JEEP HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AND IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, AN ABNORMAL SOUND WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A LOW SPEED VEHICLE COLLISION. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS OPERABLE AND DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CONWAY HEATON NEW DODGE JEEP FORD CHRYSLER RAM (810 N 3RD ST, BARDSTOWN, KY) WHERE IT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
AT 54,500 HIGHWAY MILES, TWO ROD BEARINGS FAILED IN THE ENGINE RESULTING IN TOTAL ENGINE LOSS. AFTER ENGINE REPLACEMENT THE THROW OUT BEARING FAILED RESULTING IN FAILURE OF THE CLUTCH. ENGINE FAILED WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON A FREEWAY BUT WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP. CLUTCH FAILED WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON CITY STREETS RESULTING IN TOWING.
WHILE DRIVING I HIT A BUMP AND THE FRONT WHEELS BEGIN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND I CANNOT CONTROL OR STOP IT. I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE TO MAKE IT QUIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC AND NO PLACE TO PULL OVER. SEMI TRUCKS BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME. THIS IS A VIOLENT AND UNCONTROLLABLE SHAKING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND HITS A BUMP LIKE A SEAM IN THE PAVEMENT OR EDGE OF OVERPASS.
TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS... CHRYSLER WON'T FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEM..THEY JUST RECALLED THE VEHICLE TO HAVE A DUMMY LIGHT INSTALLED ON YOUR DASH..TURN YOUR VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT COOL DOWN..BY THAT TIME WHEN IT OVER HEATS..IT'S ALREADY JUNK..42RLE ARE JUNK! WE THE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FIX AND DIAGNOSIS THERE MISTAKE. BETWEEN THE WIRING AND THE TRANSMISSION..IT'S HELL...YOUR EITHER GOING TO BURN BECAUSE OF FAULTY WIRES THEY NEVER DID A RECALL ON AND IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET...SAME PROBLEMS. OR YOUR GOING TO KEEP THROWING A BUNCH OF MONEY INTO A POS THAT WILL NEVER TRULY BE FIXED! THROWS ALL KINDS OF CODES BECAUSE OF THE TRANNY OVERHEATING. IF YOU INSTALL A AFTERMARKET COOLER TO TRY TO FIX THE OVERHEATING ISSUE IT VOIDS YOUR WARRANTY...WHICH IS NO GOOD ANYWAYS..BECAUSE THE DON'T EVEN STAND BEHIND THAT! HOPE THEY GO BANKRUPT 😁
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP IN A 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISION, THE JEEP WILL AT TIMES JUMP OUT OF GEAR WITH A VIOLENT JERK AND LOUD SOUND. THIS COULD CAUSE THE DRIVER TO REACT OR A VEHICLE BEHIND TO REAR END THE NOW NOT MOVING VEHICLE WHILE THE JEEP DRIVER RECOVERS.
MY JEEP HAS BEEN JUMPING OUT OF GEAR. IN TRAFFIC, DRIVING IN 1ST GEAR, AT ABOUT 5-10 MPH, FLAT TERRAIN IN A STRAIGHT DIRECTION, IT JUMPS OUT OF GEAR. MY JEEP HAS JUMPED OUT OF GEAR IN INTERSECTIONS WHEN I AM STARTING FROM A STOP, FLAT TERRAIN, GOING STRAIGHT OR TURNING, IT WILL JUMP OUT OF FIRST AS I AM ACCELERATING, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. WHEN STOPPING AT A SIGN OR RED LIGHT, AS I START IN 1ST GEAR IT WILL AGGRESSIVELY JUMP OUT OF GEAR CAUSING ME TO ROLL BACK WHEN ON A HILL, WHERE I HAVE ALMOST RUN INTO THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME. THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ISSUED BY MOPAR " NUMBER: 21-001-10 REV. A GROUP: TRANSMISSION DATE: APRIL 20, 2010" I TOOK MY JEEP TO HAVE THE GEAR FIXED ON 04/16/2018 THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER, NOT ARRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL 05/10/2018 AND IT WAS FINISHED ON 05/18/2018. I AM CONVINCED THE BACK ORDER OF MY PARTS IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OTHER JEEP OWNERS. THE DEALER FOUND MY 1ST GEAR SYNCHRONIZER WAS DAMAGED AND REPLACED IT
FUEL DOES NOT STOP FILLING WHEN TANK IS FULL. ABOUT A CUP OR TWO OF FUEL OVERFLOWS BEFORE PUMP STOPS. THIS HAPPENS AT ALL PUMPS AND HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A FEW WEEKS. MOST RECENT DATE IS NOTED.
WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS REMAIN ON ALONG WITH A RED LIGHT THAT LOOKS LIKE LIGHTING BOLT. REPLACED BATTERY. NEW ENGINE. NEW RADIATOR. NEW PIN. EVERYTHING THAT WAS FOUND ON DIAGNOSTIC CHECK REPLACED. STILL PAYING FOR CAR. NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT. HAS A DANGEROUS DEATH WOBBLE. THIS IS THE WORST VEHICLE MADE. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. CANNOT GET PLATES FOR JEEP THAT EILL NEVER PASS INSPECTION. WHAT CAN I DO .
GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM THE TANK DURING REFUELING AND DOES NOT SHUT-OFF. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND PUMPS OVER SEVERAL YEARS. THE GAS JUST GUSHES OUT WHEN THE AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF KICKS IN ON THE PUMP AND CREATES A LARGE SPILL AND ALL OVER JEEP AND TIRES. THIS IS NOW OCCURRING ALMOST EVERY FILL UP AND OCCURRED YESTERDAY AND APPEARS OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR CAUSING VEHICLE TO STALL. THIS OCCURS WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION AS THE CLUTCH IS RELEASED. THIS OCCURS WHEN GOING STRAIGHT AND TURNING. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING A ROADWAY WITH OTHER TRAFFIC. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH EARLY JEEP JK WRANGLERS.
FUELING UP THE JEEP WITH THE AUTO SHUT OFF AT FILLING STATIONS NOW CAUSES ABOUT 2 CUPS OF GASOLINE PUKING OUT THE FILLER AND ONTO MYSELF , VEHICLE , AND GROUND. THIS NOW HAPPENS EVERY FILL UP.
VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AT 65 MPH, ( DEATH WOBBLE), SCARED THE HELL OUT OF MY WIFE!! REPLACED STEERING DAMPER AND LINK ARM AT REPAIR SHOP- $743.00. COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IT WAS SO BAD I HAD IT TOWED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX THIS OR SOMEONE WILL DIE!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE FAILURE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ISSUE COULD BE RELATED TO THE TIRES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A JEEP DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TT *TR
WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK, FUEL SPILLS OUT OF FILLER HOLE AFTER AUTO-STOP FILLER NOZZLE SHUTS OFF.
JAN 24 2018. I AM DRIVING MY JEEP JK 2008. 103,000 MILES. STOCK EVERYTHING. WAS DRIVING IT ALL DAY IN THE EVERGLADES. ALL OF A SUDDEN AS WE WERE EXITING THE PARK MY BRAKES STOPPED WORKING AND LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON. WE WERE GOING NO FASTER THAN 35 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM AROUND THE CAR. WE OPE THE HOOD THERE IS A FIRE IN THE ENGINE AREA BY ALL OF THE WIRING. WE ATTEMPTED TO PUT IT OUT BUT IT QUICKLY ENGULFED THE ENTIRE TRUCK AND I HAD TO STAND BACK AND WATCH MY ENTIRE JEEP BURN TO THE GROUND!!!!! THERE WAS NOTHING TO TELL ME THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN OR TO WARN ME! JEEP NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. WE HAVE BURNS ON OUR ARMS. THE CAR BURNED ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND. ALL OF MY BELONGINGS ARE GONE FROM THE FIRE
MY AC/HEATER BLOWER MOTOR WORK INTERMITTENTLY. THE HORN SOUNDS WITHOUT BEING ENGAGED. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL ENGAGE BY THEMSELVES. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN BOTH STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING. I BELIVE THESE ISSUES ARE CAUSED BY THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE. WHEN TALKING WITH OTHERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THERE APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. I BELIEVE THESE MALFUNCTIONS COULD PUT ME IN DANGER. FOR EXAMPLE, IF I CAN'T DEFROST THE WINDSHIELD THERE IS A VISABILITY PROBLEM. ALSO, ASSUMING IT IS THE TIPM THERE ARE MANY OTHER THINGS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN.
GAS OVERFLOWS FROM GAS FILLER TUBE AFTER PUMP HAS STOPED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HORN BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (MURFREESBORO HYUNDAI, 2203 NW BROAD STREET, MURFREESBORO, TN 37129) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

WE WERE DRIVING IN THE NM MOUNTAINS AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE WIPERS STARTED RUNNING. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD. WE WERE LUCKY WE DIDN'T HAVE A WRECK. EVENTUALLY WE SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT. THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START RIGHT AWAY AFTER IT HAS RAINED OR WHEN IT IS COLD. IT IS NOT CERTAIN IF THE VEHICLE WILL START AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: IGNITION SWITCH RECALL FOR SOME JEEPS, WHICH WAS RECALLED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF RESULTING IN A VEHICLE FIRE. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA YET EVEN THOUGH MANY OWNERS HAVE MADE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS.
EVERY TIME YOU FUEL THE VEHICLE TO GAS OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE FUEL INLET ONTO THE SIDE AND REAR FENDER OF THE VEHICLE.
ALL 4 BRAKE LINES CORRODED. ONE BLEW AND THE OTHER 3 HAD BULGES. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I HAD PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUT VEHICLE IN GEAR. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND SMOKE CAME FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE LINES WERE CORRODED DIRECTLY BEHIND WHERE A PREVIOUS RECALL K13 HAD BEEN DONE TO FIX THE FENDER LINER ISSUE ABOUT THE LINER RUBBING A HOLE IN THE BRAKE LINE. ALL 4 LINES CORRODED IN THE SAME SPOT. THE FENDER LINER HELD MOISTURE AND ALLOWED THE LINES TO CORRODE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, WITH NO WARNING THE VEHICLE SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED WAS ABLE TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THEIR RESIDENCE. THE DEALER (FOSS CHRYSLER JEEP 133 PORTSMOUTH AVE, EXETER, NEW HAMPSHIRE 03833) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AND MORE TIME WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND AGREED WITH THE DEALER THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AND MORE TIME WAS NEEDED. THE VIN SEARCH REVEALED NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 266,936.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STOPPED WORKING AND ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED UNEXPECTEDLY. ALSO, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. THE CONTACT STOPPED, TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TURNERSVILLE JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (3100 NJ-42, SICKLERVILLE, NJ 08081 (856) 316-7958) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A FUSE WAS BLOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REQUESTED A TEST DRIVE AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE DEALER FOR A REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT A CONVINCE STORE AND HAD ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 3 MILES AFTER SITING FOR OVER 12 HOURS OVERNIGHT. WHILE EXITING THE STORE THE HORN, BLINKERS, DOOR LOCKS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED ACTIVIATING. THE HORN WAS HONKING, WASHER FLUID SPRAYING, BLINKERS FLASHING AND DOOR LOCKS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING RAPIDLY. I WAS UNABLE TO EXETER THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB AND HAD TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. THEN AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE THE ABOVE ISSUES CONTINUED. I CYCLED THE KEY WITH NO SUCCESS. AFTER I OPPENED THE HOOD THE ABOVE MENTIONS ISSUES STOPPED TEMPORARILY FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 SECONDS THEN STARTED AGAIN. I TAPPED THE TIPM AND ALL OF THE ABOVE ISSUES STOPPED. I KNOW THAT JEEP HAS HAD ISSUES WITH TIPM BUT A RECALL WAS NEVER ISSUED TO CORRECT THE DEFECTIVE PART. I FEEL THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFTETY HAZARD AS I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE FOR MALFUNCTIONING. I'M EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AS IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SEE DUE TO THE ERRATIC NATURE OF THE WASHER FLUID SPRAY AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS NOT FUNCTIONING.
WHILE DRIVING MY STOCK 08 JKU RUBICON WHEN I WENT TO STOP BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I ROLLED INTO AN INTERSECTION. I AM SO LUCKY I DID NOT DIE OR KILL SOMEONE ELSE. I GOT IT HOME TO FIND THAT MY TIRES HAD WORN A HOLE IN MY BRAKE LINES ON DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT. I CONTACT DEALERSHIP WHO BASICALLY TELL ME IT ISN'T COVERED AND THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANY ISSUE'S WITH TIRE RUB ON BRAKE LINES. I CONTACTED FCA THEY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP WHO NOW BASICLY TOLD ME TO BRING IN ASAP. TODAY I AM CONTACT BY DEALERSHIP THAT IS COVERED BUT AFTER IT FAILS.
TAKATA RECALL MY JEEP HAS PSAN INFLATORS PLEASE ADD IT TO THE RECALL LIST. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. SO IT SHOULD BE FINE. BUT I GOT A LETTER FROM TK HOLDING SAYING I ONLY HAVE UNTIL DEC 27TH BECAUSE THEY FILED BANKRUPTCY AND WONT BE RESPONSIBLE AFTER THAT
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TK HOLDINGS INC SAYING THAT I HAVE TAKATA AIRBAG INFILTRATORS IN MY VEHICLE THAT CONTAINS "PHASE-STABILIZED AMMONIUM NITRATE PROPELLANT" THAT CAN RUPTURE CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH. I ONLY HAVE UNTIL DEC 27TH TO FILE A COMPLAINT, BECAUSE THEY FILED BANKRUPTCY AND WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE AFTER THAT DATE. PLEASE ADD MY VEHICLE TO THE RECALL LIST SO I CAN GET THIS FIXED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT IS FINE SINCE IT ISN'T ON THE RECALL LIST. THEY CAN'T FIX THEM THANK YOU
WHILE DRIVING HEADLIGHTS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS/WASHER, SIGNALS, ESP DISABLE BUTTON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIPM IN THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST WAS REPLACED AFTER POWER WINDOWS STOPPED FUNCTIONING.
THE JEEP JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN ESCONDIDO CA. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT HAPPENED IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE HORN, WIPERS, WIPER FLUIDS ALL CAME ON ALL OF A SUDDEN. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN IT OFF. THEN IT RANDOMLY TURNED OFF SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID MY TIPM WAS BAD. THERE ARE RECALLS OF THE JEEP TIPM BUT NOT FOR MY MODEL YEAR. WTF
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY AND ERRONEOUSLY TURNED TO THE LEFT. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DROVE INTO THE OPPOSITE LANE FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC. A SECOND VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED RIGHT LEG, AND INJURIES TO THE RIBS, HEAD, AND RIGHT HIP. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO ACT AS IF IT IS POSSESSED. WHEN DRIVING ALL DASH LIGHTS WILL FLASH, WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL TURN ON, WASHER FLUID WILL SHOOT OUT. ALSO WHILE DRIVING EVERYTHING WILL LOCK UP MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. WHEN PARKED, THE VEHICLE WILL STRUGGLE TO START AND ALL OF THE OTHER SYMPTOMS LISTED ABOVE OCCUR.
JEEP HAS MIND OF ITS OWN. NO START, NO HEADLIGHTS, WIPERS WORK ON THEIR OWN AND SPRAY ALL FLUID. JEEP SHUTS OFF DRIVING, THEN CANT SHUT ENGINE OFF WITH KEY.
WHEN REFUELING THE GAS TANK IT OVERFLOWS GAS ALL OVER ON THE GROUND. IT DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF WHEN TANK IS FULL.
I'VE CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP ABOUT THESE OPEN RECALLS FOR OVER A YEAR NUMEROUS TIMES THEY TELL ME THEY WILL CALL WHEN PARTS ARE IN. NO CALLS ET. THIS IS MY ONLY CAR TO DRIVE THEY NO THAT. CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!
