30 AUG.16 TOOK MY 07 E350 WITH 29427 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS HARD STARTING. AFTER ARRIVING I INFORMED THE SERVICE WRITER THE CAR HAD SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING. WE WERE PROCEEDING THROUGH A BUSY MAJOR INTERSECTION WHEN THE CAR SHUT DOWN. LUCKILY IT STARTED SO WE COULD SAFELY EXIT THE BUSY MAJOR INTERSECTION. AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS RAN, I WAS INFORMED THE CRANKSHAFT HALL SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. ADDITIONALLY, THE ENGINE CONTROL UNIT, ENGINE WIRING HARNESS, CRANK SENSOR AND VARIOUS OTHER COMPONENTS ARE OIL SOAKED. I NOTIFIED MERCEDES BENZ TO BE TOLD THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. MERCEDES BENZ SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE UNSAFE DEFECTIVE MATERIALS THEY USE. THE ABOVE ISSUES ARE A DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS AND GENERAL PUBLIC AS WELL. THE DEFECTIVE OIL SOAKED WIRING HARNESS IS CAN CAUSE A FIRE. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IS DANGEROUS.
HELLO GUYS. I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY E350 (07), EVERYTIME I FILL UP MY TANK I CAN SMELL THE GAS. I DON'T SMELL IT INSIDE THE CAR BUT OUTSIDE THE CAR AND IT IS STRONG. IT IS REALLY STRONG THAT YOU THOUGHT THE GAS SPILLED. ONCE THE GAS GOES DOWN TO LIKE 3/4 OF A TANK THE ODOR WILL BE GONE. I TRIED TRACING WHERE THE GAS ODOR IS COMING FROM AND I THINK IT IS UNDER THE FENDER ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER, MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE NAVIGATING TO THE SHOULDER. THE ENGINE THEN STALLED AND WOULD NOT START. VEHICLE WAS TOWED 120 MILES TO NEAREST DEALER WHERE THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND RELATED PARTS, WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING: ABOUT TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS, ANOTHER DEALERSHIP HAD WORKED ON THE CAR DUE TO INTERMITTENT DIFFICULT STARTING. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, BUT DID REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND RELATED PARTS. ALL REPAIRS WERE OUT OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES. SINCE THEN, MERCEDES-BENZ SENT A LETTER NOTIFYING THAT THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED ON FUEL TANK COMPONENTS. THE LETTER INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO PLACE A CLAIM FOR PRIOR EXPENSES THAT ARE NOW COVERED UNDER THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY. A CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF THE REPAIR CHARGES INCURRED AT BOTH DEALERSHIPS WAS SUBMITTED TO MERCEDES. MERCEDES SUBSEQUENTLY APPROVED THE CLAIM, AND I RECEIVED REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE WORK DONE AT THE FIRST DEALERSHIP. WHEN I APPROACHED THE SECOND DEALERSHIP FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE WORK THAT ACTUALLY FIXED THE CAR, THEY DENIED MY CLAIM, EVEN THOUGH MY CLAIM WAS ALREADY APPROVED BY MERCEDES. AFTER MANY EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SENT A FINAL LETTER ON DECEMBER, 2017 DECLARING THE CASE CLOSED. LOOKING FORWARD TO ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE IN THIS MATTER.
I HAVE BEEN READING ALL FUEL RELATED COMPLAINTS REGARDING MY VEHICLE AND ITS OVERWHELMING THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS OVER THE SAME THING. I HAVE A GAS ODOR IN REAR LEFT SIDE OF VEHICLE AFTER I FEEL MY CAR. MY CERTIFIED MERCEDES MECHANIC INSPECTED THE REAR SEAT ARE AND NOTICE FUEL AT THE SENDING UNIT ON TOP OF TANK. MERCEDES BENZ SAYS MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT YET I HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT THOSE NON PZEV VEHICLES. IS THERE SOME KIND OF RULING OR AGREEMENT SAYS MERCEDES NEEDS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM??
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ E350. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WAS LOW AND A "TOO LOW" EMERGENCY INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AND WAS NOT DETERMINED TO BE PART INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V264000 (SUSPENSION). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
WHILE TRYING TO MERGE INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC (I94 IN MICHIGAN) I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO GAIN SPEED TO MERGE ONLY TO FIND THAT THE ENGINE LACKED ANY POWER, THE RPMS ROSE SLOWLY BUT THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION. I WAS TOLD (BY MERCEDES DEALER) THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND IN THIS CASE IT ALMOST CAUSED MY DEATH. IF THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WHY ARE OUR LIVES BEING PUT AT RISK BECAUSE OF A POORLY DESIGNED PART?

STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE AFTER FILLING TANK. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. NOTICEABLE BY DRIVER AND PASSENGER WHEN OPENING DOOR UPON EGRESS. ALSO WHEN WALKING AROUND REAR OF VEHICLE.
HI MY NAME IS [XXX] OWNER OF A MERCEDES BENZ E350 2007 I ALWAYS BEEN LOYAL TO MERCEDES BECAUSE I WAS IN THE BE LEAVE THAT THEY HAD SAFE CARS BUT UNFORTUNATELY WITH THIS VEHICLE I HAD A BIG PROBLEM I WAS DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY IN THE CAR JUST STOP WITH A TERRIBLE ODOR OF GAS; I PULL T THE SIDE OF THE ROAD GOT OUT THE CAR AND CALL FOR HELP. THE TOWING TRUCK TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC THAN IT WAS THAN WHEN WE FIND OUT THAT THE THIS MODEL AND YEAR OF THE CAR HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND MANY OTHER PROBLEMS. CALLED ANOTHER TOWING TRUCK TO TAKE IT TO MERCEDES BENZ DEALER IN MONTEREY CALIF SPOKE WITH [XXX] WISH HE IS THE MANAGER IN THAT LOCATION THEY CHECK THE CAR AND SAID THAT THERE WASN'T ANY WARRANTY IN THE VEHICLE THAT HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET , I SHOW HIM ALL THE DOCUMENTATION FROM SAFE CAR.GOV ALSO KNOWN AS NHTSA I PRINTED OUT ALL THE DOCUMENTATION SAYING THAT MERCEDES BENZ EXTENDED THE WARRANTY IN THIS VEHICLES FOR 15 YEARS UNLIMITED MILES [XXX] THE OWNERSHIP OF THE CAR. EVEN DOUGH I TOOK ALL THIS DOCUMENTS TO [XXX] AT MERCEDES BENZ AT MONTEREY CALIF DEALER HE DIDN'T WANT TO FIX THE CAR, HE TOLD ME AND MY HUSBAND THAT HE EXPOSED THIS TO THE MERCEDES BENZ REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE HEAD QUARTERS AND THEY ARE NOT APPROVING IT WISH I REALLY BE LEAVE THAT THEY SHOULD WITH NO HASSLE AT ALL. AT THIS POINT I HAVE NO CAR AND MERCEDES BENZ ITS NOT RESPONDING THE ACCORDING TO THE WARRANTY OF THE EXTRA 15 YEARS UNLIMITED MILES AND REGARDLESS OF THE OWNERSHIP. MY CAR FOR THE PAST MONTH HAS HAD A TERRIBLE FUEL SMELL EVERY TIME I FILLED MY CAR UP. THE FUMES SMELLED AWFUL AND THEY WOULD MAKE ME SICK. I KEPT ASKING MECHANICS WHAT IS GOING ON, AND WHEN I CALLED MERCEDES THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL. THIS WAS A TOTAL LIE. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT THERE EVEN WAS A RECALL. AFTER GETTING TO A PERSON WHO HAS A POSITION OF MORE AUTHORITY I WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT SITS NOW. HOWEVER I GOT THE RUNAROUND FIRST FROM CORPORATE MERCEDES. THEN WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY STREET THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. I WAS CAUGHT IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. WHEN I CHECKED ON LINE I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE CLASS ACTION SUET. I READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS AND ALMOST ALL OF THE STORIES FOR 2007 E350'S MATCHED MY ISSUE. I HAVE NO IDEA IF MERCEDES WILL STAND BY THEIR NAME AND FIX THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IF NOT I WILL CALL MY LAWYER.
FROM THE TIME IT WAS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD, THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM BEGAN REPEATEDLY TO FAIL. SOME OF THE REPAIRS DONE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WE HAVE NOW SPENT OVER $3,400.00 ON NEW A/C COMPRESSORS (TWICE), THE EVAPORATOR (ALSO TWICE) AND VARIOUS AND SUNDRY LEAK DETECTIONS AND RECHARGES. FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED ON START-UP AS WELL AS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE READ THROUGH THIS MODEL'S DEFECT RECORDS AND FOUND LITTLE IF ANY MENTION OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL. PERHAPS PART OF THE REASON MAY BE THAT THE A/C SYSTEM ISN'T INCLUDED AMONG THE CHOICES IN THE COMPLAINTS LIST. THEN AGAIN, THE ISSUE MAY BE UNIQUE TO MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE. IN ANY CASE, I WANTED IT ON RECORD AS A RECURRENT ISSUE. PERHAPS THE CLIMATE CONTROL, AND ITS IMPACT ON VISIBILITY AND THEREFORE SAFETY, SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE LIST OF OPTIONS.
STRONG GAS FUMES INSIDE THE CAR. STARTED SMELLING IT AFTER 100,000
THE GEAR SHIFT KEEP GETTING STUCK. THE CAR REVS AND DOESN'T CHANGE GEAR WHEN DRIVING IT STAYS IN THE FIRST GEAR. THEN WHEN IT DOES CHANGES THE GEAR SKIPS, CAUSING A JOLT IN THE CAR. BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT'S A DEFAULT SENSOR THAT'S NOT PICKING UP, CAUSING IT TO SKIP. TWO SEPARATE SHOPS AND THEY TOLD ME TO MAKE THIS COMPLAINT. I'VE CALLED THE NUMBER ON THIS SITE MONTHS AGO, MADE A COMPLAINT AND STILL NOTHING. I'VE SEEN QUITE A BIT OF COMPLAINT ON THIS MATTER ON THIS SITE, YET NO CHANGE. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE CAR STALLS WHICH ENDANGER THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE, PASSENGERS, AND OTHER MOTORIST ON THE ROAD. THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I'LL USE TODAY'S DATE BECAUSE I DON'T REMEMBER THE SPECIFIC DATE I CALLED BEFORE. VERY DANGEROUS
BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY WIFE AND WE STOPPED TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK AND ONCE IT WAS FULL WE BEGAN TO SMELL A VERY STRONG ODOR OF GAS
STRONG FUEL SMELL AFTER GAS TANK FILL UP UNDER REAR SEAT. DID RESEARCH FROM NHTSA WHO STATED MERCEDES HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR FUEL TANK COMPONENTS LEAK. NOTIFIED RBM MERCEDES ATLANTA OF PROBLEM WHO VERIFIED EXTENDED WARRANTY AND AGREED TO REPAIR FUEL TANK LEAK. HOWEVER RBM MERCEDES NOTIFIED ME THAT THE REAR SEAT CUSHION WAS SO SATURATED WITH GAS FUMES THAT THEY COULD NOT GET SMELL OUT WITHOUT REPLACING REAR SEAT CUSHIONS WHICH MERCEDES WOULD NOT COVER THIS COST OF $550. THEY WILL REPLACE COMPONENTS TO DELETE FUEL LEAK BUT NOT STAND BEHIND THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE LEAKY FUEL SYSTEM.. THEIR INFERIOR FUEL SYSTEM IS THE CAUSE OF THIS UNBEARABLE FUEL ODOR THAT REMAINS AFTER THEIR TANK REPAIR SHOULD AND MUST BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE FUEL LEAK PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD BEAR THE EXPENSE OF CORRECTING THIS HEALTH HAZARD GAS FUEL SMELL. EXPOSURE TO THIS FUEL SMELL IS A REAL AND SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD THAT CAUSE IMPAIRED DRIVING ABILITIES AND PERMANENT HEALTH CONSEQUENCES AND MUST BE DEALT WITH QUICKLY TO ELIMINATE ANY FURTHER EXPOSURE. IT IS AN IDENTICAL FIRE INCIDENT THAT I ATTACH AN INSPECTION REPORT FOR YOUR FURTHER INVESTIGATIO, MERCEDES BENZ MAY HAVE TO MAKE A RECALL TO REPLACE FUEL HOSE FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY WITH THESE REPEATED INCIDENTS.

MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING A HIGH SMELL OF GASOLINE FOR QUIET A WHILE AFTER I FILL UP MY TANK, UNTIL EVENTUALLY ONE MORNING I WENT OUT STARTED MY CAR BEFORE GOING TO WORK A COUPLE MY WEEKS AGO AND IT STARTED BUT DIED AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND HAS NOT STARTED SINCE. IT CRANK BUT DOES NOT START.

IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENDER UNIT UNDER THE BACK SEAT, WHICH HAS A TRAP DOOR, ALLOWED THE FUEL ODOR TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN GAS TANK IS FUEL THERE IS A VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL IN THE GARAGE. AS THE TANK EMPTIES, THE SMELL GOES AWAY. THE MECHANIC I TOOK MY CAR TO TOLD ME ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT MERCEDES WAS FORCED TO ISSUE DUE TO INVESTIGATION YOUR DEPARTMENT DID. WHEN I CALLED MERCEDES, I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY BECAUSE IT WAS A PZEV VEHICLE. MY CAR HAS EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUES AS DESCRIBED BY THE OTHER MERCEDES 350 E SERIES VEHICLES. I NOTED IN YOUR DEFECTIVE INVESTIGATION RESULTS, THAT YOU NOT NOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE PZEV VEHICLES AND THE NON PZEV VEHICLES. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR, AND I BELIEVE THAT MY CAR QUALIFIES FOR THE RECALL.
I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT WHEN I FILLED MY TANK MY CAR WOULD SMELL LIKE GAS INSIDE. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WITHIN DAYS IT BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH AND THEN NOT START. MECHANIC STATES ITS THE FUEL PUMP AND THE ENTIRE KIT MUST BE REPLACED YOU CAN NOT JUST REPLACE THE PUMP, (KIT INCLUDES PUMP, TANK, FILTER ETC). THE COST FOR THE PART ALONE IS ALMOST 2700, SOMETHING I CERTAINLY CAN NOT AFFORD PLUS LABOR WHICH WILL TAKE 6-7 HOURS TO FIX. THAT IS AT LEAST ANOTHER 1000 IN LABOR. THE INVESTIGATION NHTSA ACTION NUMBER EA13003 INVESTIGATED THIS PROBLEM AND EXPANDED THE SCOPE TO INCLUDE ALL E-CLASS MODELS FROM 2003-2008. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE AND MERCEDES IS TELLING ME MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AGREEMENT. HELP! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR A 1.5 YEARS AND IT ONLY HAS 66K MILES ON IT. IT IS PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW!
SMELLING STRONG GASOLINE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE CAR AFTER RUNNING THE VEHICLE, WHY DOESN'T RECALL NO. 2008020001 APPLY TO MY VEHICLE, ESP WARNING LIGHT COME ON AND GEAR-SHIFT GOT STUCK, I CAN'T SHIFT TO OTHER GEAR FROM PARK POSITION.
I TURNED ON THE HEATED SEATS IN MY CAR AND A STRANGE BURNING SMELL FILLED THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THEM OFF. WHEN I GOT HOME AND TOOK MY COAT OFF THERE WAS A LARGE BURN WHOLE ON THE BACK OF MY COAT. I WENT AND CHECKED THE SEATS AND THERE WAS A LARGE WHOLE BURNED THRU THE SEAT IN THE SAME AREA AS MY COAT WAS.I WAS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENED
WHEN I FUEL THE CAR TO FULL, THERE IS THE HIGH ODOR OF FUEL. ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS FULL, I CAN SMELL THE ODOR OF GAS. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, IN THE GARAGE.
STRONG GAS SMELL WHEN TANK IS FILLED ALL THE WAY. THIS SMELL IS PROMINENT BOTH WHEN STATIONARY OR MOVING. THE SMELL GOES AWAY WHEN THE TANK IS 3/4 FULL OR LESS. GAS HAS LEAKED FROM UNDER THE REAR SEAT ON OCCASION. THE SMELL FILLS UP THE INTERIOR OF CAR AS WELL AS OUTSIDE. MAKES MY WHOLE GARAGE WREAK OF GAS AND FEELS VERY UNSAFE.
STRONG FUEL SMELL WHEN FILLING UP. HAVE NOTICED MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. MERCEDES IN AN ONLINE CHAT SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED BUT EVERYTHING I AM READING SAYS IT SHOULD BE. NOT SURE HOW TO PURSUE THIS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
I BEGAN SMELLING A STRONG GASOLINE ORDER AFTER DRIVING AND PARKING THE CAR. THE ODOR WAS STRONGEST WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. YOU COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR VERY FAR WITHOUT HAVING TO OPEN THE WINDOWS. AFTER ABOUT THREE WEEKS I TOOK THE CAR TO A MERCEDES REPAIR MECHANIC WHO INFORMED ME GASOLINE WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL PUMP LOCATED UNDER THE BACKSEAT. DUE TO THE TYPE OF FUEL TANK I HAD (SPECIAL ORDER CRASH RESISTANT TANK) I COULD NOT JUST REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. I HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, FUEL SENSORS, AND THE FUEL TANK. DRIVING THE CAR WITHOUT A REPAIR WAS VERY DANGEROUS. THE COST WAS $3,000. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO REPAIR THE CAR. THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 102,850 MILES ON IT. MERCEDES NEEDS TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND STEP UP AND REPAIR THE 2007 E350'S THAT EXPERIENCE THIS. IT IS EITHER A DESIGN FLAW OR FAULTY PART.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCEDES-BENZ E350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL EMITTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO FUEL VISIBLE ON THE GROUND. THE FAILURE BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE PART WAS PLACED ON SPECIAL ORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,400.

I JUST NOTICED A VERY POTENT GAS ODOR ON THE REAR BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR. THERE ARE NO LEAKS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR OR MY DRIVEWAY. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2003-2006 E-CLASS, BUT WAS THERE ONE FOR 2007-2009 MODELS AS WELL? I JUST NOTICED IT TODAY AND I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, CAR HAS ABOUT 78K ON THE ODOMETER.
I HAVE A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE OUTSIDE CAR WHEN GAS TANK IS FULL OR NEARLY FULL. I'VE ASKED MERCEDES BENZ TO REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY BASED ON NHTSA ACTION NUMBER EA13003, BUT THEY ARE REFUSING, SAYING MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED, WHEN IT CLEARLY SHOULD BE.

FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLE PLASTIC ENCASEMENT IS BROKEN. THE BELT WORKS, BUT THE 2 PIECES OF PLASTIC WHERE THE BELT CLIPS INTO, WILL NOT STAY TOGETHER. SEE PICTURES. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THEY CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT REPLACING THE ENTIRE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY. THIS COST IS ESTIMATED AT $500. SEE DOCUMENT CONCERN AND ESTIMATE PAGES ATTACHED.
IN 2011, I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM A DEALERSHIP AS CERTIFIED/PREOWNED AT 46,717 MILES. REGULAR MAINTENANCE WAS KEPT UP AT THE DEALERSHIP. IN 2015 AT 74,563 MILES, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR 2 PROBLEMS: A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME "ON" AND MY VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING VIBRATIONS FROM THE POWER TRAIN WHEN TURNING AND SHUDDERING WHEN MAKING SHARP TURNS AT LOW SPEEDS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS A RESULT OF A BALANCE SHAFT ENGINE PROBLEM WHICH WAS, AT THE TIME, IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THIS PROBLEM FOR THESE VEHICLES. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED TO PAY A PORTION OF MY REPAIR FOR THE BALANCE SHAFT ISSUE. THE SECOND PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE A TRANSFER CASE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP STATED I HAD A BAD TRANSFER CASE AND THEY RECOMMENDED I HAVE THE TRANSFER CASE REPLACED. AT THE TIME, I COULD ONLY BUDGET MYSELF FOR THE BALANCE SHAFT REPAIR AND 4 NEW TIRES. THE TRANSFER CASE OIL WAS CHANGED WHICH SLIGHTLY IMPROVED THE VIBRATION/SHUDDERING ISSUE. I CURRENTLY STILL HAVE THIS ISSUE MORE SEVERELY AND REQUIRE THE TRANSFER CASE BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE'S TRANSFER CASE OIL WAS CHANGED AT 30K MILES BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THROUGH RESEARCH, I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT IN JANUARY 2009, A MANUFACTURER BULLETIN CAME OUT THAT SPECIFIED MY VEHICLES VIN NUMBER WAS INCLUDED IN THE STATED PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSFER CASE. THEY HAD INSTALLED DEFECTIVE TRANSFER CASES AT PRODUCTION IN 2007 AND SHOULD REMEDY THIS! I HAVE SPOKEN TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY WILL ONLY PAY 25% OF MY PARTS FOR THIS REPAIR WHICH LEAVES ME WITH A $3200 BILL FOR A PROBLEM THEY KNEW ABOUT. ON MANY OCCASIONS, WHILE WAITING FOR MY VEHICLE TO HAVE MAINTENANCE COMPLETED, I OVER HEARD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES SPEAKING TO OTHER CUSTOMERS BY PHONE OR IN PERSON. THE SERVICE REPS INDICATED IN MANY INSTANCES THAT THE PROBLEM THE CUSTOMER WAS HAVING WITH THEIR VEHICLE WAS DUE TO THE TRANSFER CASE. THESE TRANSFER CASES SHOULD BE RECALLED!
SMELL STRONG GASOLINE EVERY I FILL UP THE GAS TANK.
MY CAR IS HAVING A EXTREMELY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF MY CAR AFTER I FILL UP THE CAR. I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY GASOLINE LEAK ON THE GROUND. BUT THE SMELL INSIDE AND AROUND THE CAR IS GETTING WORSE AS TIME GOES BY AND NOW I AM AFRAID TO PARK THE CAR IN THE GARAGE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS IS TO ALERT YOU OF A SAFETY HAZARD / PRODUCT DEFECT OF THE SEATBELT BUCKLE IN THE 2007 MERCEDES BENZ E350 4MATIC WAGON (?MB E350 WAGON?). I HAVE SENT A SIMILAR LETTER TO MERCEDES BENZ REPORTING THE SITUATION. ON AUGUST 7, 2015 WHILE RIDING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OF AN MB E350 WAGON, I PLACED MY LEFT HAND ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY SEAT NEAR THE SEATBELT BUCKLE, AS LEVERAGE IN ORDER TO ADJUST MY SITTING POSITION. AS I SHIFTED MY POSITION, THE SEATBELT MOVED THROUGH THE INSERTING (TOP) PART OF THE BUCKLE, AND IN THE PROCESS SEVERELY AND PAINFULLY PINCHED THE SKIN ON THE INSIDE OF MY LEFT FOREARM. ALTHOUGH THE SEATBELT BUCKLE ?LET GO? OF MY SKIN IT CAUSED A SERIOUS CONTUSION: WITHIN SECONDS OF THE INCIDENT, A PAINFUL, 2-3INCH LONG, RAISED/SWOLLEN CONTUSION DEVELOPED ON MY FOREARM. THE CONTUSION QUICKLY TURNED VERY DARK RED AS THE BLOOD CONTINUED TO POOL UNDER MY SKIN. THINKING THIS WAS A ONE OFF OCCURRENCE, FEW MINUTES LATER, I ONCE MORE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT MY SITTING POSITION IN THE SAME MANNER AS ABOVE, ONLY TO SUFFER THE EXACT SAME INJURY AGAIN. THE SEATBELT BUCKLE CAUSED INJURY TO A SMALLER AREA BUT THIS TIME IT SLIGHTLY BROKE THE SKIN. AGAIN,A PAINFUL DARK RED SWOLLEN CONTUSION DEVELOPED IMMEDIATELY. (ON 9.22.2015 I MAILED A LETTER TO THE NHTSA WITH 4 PICTURES OF MY FOREARM FOR YOUR REFERENCE. PIC #1-3 WERE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INJURIES AND PICT #4 WAS TAKEN SEVERAL DAYS LATER. BOTH INJURIES WERE VERY PAINFUL WHEN THEY OCCURRED AND MY ARM AS QUITE SORE FOR SEVERAL DAYS LATER.) THE PROTECTIVE LACQUER FINISH HAS FAILED CAUSING WHEEL CORROSION AND RUST FROM THE INSIDE OUT STARTING AROUND THE WHEEL HUBS. THIS CORROSION IS LIKE A METAL CANCER THAT IS STARTING TO DETERIORATE THE PROPERTIES OF THE METALS AND ALLOYS. THIS IS A HIGH PERFORMANCE VEHICLE WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE WHEELS. THIS MFG DEFECT POSES SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS AND IS A PRODUCT LIABILITY THAT DAIMLER NORTH AMERICA CORPORATION DBA MERCEDES BENZ USA'S HAS KNOWN ABOUT BUT YET HAS DONE NOTHING. THIS DEFECT HAS AFFECTED SEVERAL OTHER MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLES OF THE AMG PERFORMANCE LINE. OTHER MODELS INCLUDE SLK 55 AND SLK 350 FROM 2000-2009. IN ADDITION TO RUST AND CORROSION FORMING FROM THE INSIDE OUT ON SOME WHEELS, THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE WHEELS TO THE HUB ASSEMBLY TEND TO RUST AS WELL FURTHERING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. NOTE: VEHICLE IS USUALLY PARKED AND COVERED IN A CLIMATICALLY CONTROLLED GARAGE WHICH IS NOT EXPOSED TO THE USUAL ELEMENTS OF NATURE.
I BELIEVE THERE IS A LEAK IN MY FUEL SENDING UNIT. FIRST, THE TANK LEVEL INDICATOR CIRCUIT IS UNRELIABLE BELOW A HALF TANK. SECONDLY, AFTER I TOP MY FUEL TANK OFF, THE CAR WILL RUN OUT OF GAS AFTER USING 19.5 TO 20 GALLONS. THE TANK IS 21.5 GALLONS.

SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE TRUNK DOES NOT OPEN, TRIED BOTH REMOTE KEY & DOOR TRUNK LATCH. GOT A MESSAGE ON PANEL REGARDING 3RD BRAKE LIGHT..UNABLE TO GET THE WHEELCHAIR FROM TRUNK BUT DROVE CAR AROUND THE BLOCK AND WAS THEN ABLE TO OPEN IT USING MY KEY REMOTE. THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER AGAIN WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE TRUNK, BUT NOW THE PANEL READ LICENSE PLATE RIGHT AND LEFT LIGHT LAMPS NOT WORKING...NIGHT DRIVING IS AN ISSUE NOW...CA LAWS REQUIRE LIC PLATE BE LIT AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES. I WENT ONLINE AND NOTICED ALL THE BUZZ AND COMPLAINTS REPORTING THIS SAME ISSUE REGARDING BROWN WIRE BEING SEVERED ON MANY MAKES, MODELS AND YEARS ON MER BENZ VEHICLES. I E-MAILED MB CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ASK ABOUT A RECALL AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE TO MY SURPRISE. GOT A CALL TODAY FROM [XXX] @ [XXX] STATING THERE IS NOTHING MB CAN DO SINCE MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED...I ADVISED HIM I HAVE UNDER 50K MILES ON THIS CAR, HE SAID THAT I WOULD NEED TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST COSTING ME OVER $100 IN ORDER TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS PLUS ACCORDING TO INTERNET COMMENTS THIS IS A $250 OR MORE REPAIR COST.
