VEHICLE HAS 45,874 MILES ON IT TODAY. SUNROOF IS NOT WORKING SO I HAD LOCAL FORD DEALER CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM. SERVICE TECH REPORTS "FOUND CHUNKS OF BRACKETS LAYING IN THE TRACK ASSEMBLY. REC REPLACING SUNROOF TRACK. TRACK IS NOT SECURED PROPERLY WITH THE GLASS DUE TO THE DAMAGE IN THE TRACK ASSEMBLY. MAY NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF TRACK LEAKING WATER." THE PROBLEM OCCURRED DURING NORMAL OPERATION AND IF THERE IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS THE FORD TECHNICIAN STATED, THEN I FEEL FORD SHOULD COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY ON A VEHICLE WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. THE FORD SERVICE ADVISOR QUOTED A REPAIR COST OF $2020.00 AND EVEN HE SAID THE COST IS OUTRAGEOUS.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
