WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON OUR WAY TO PICK UP DAUGHTER WHO LIVES 1.5 HOURS AWAY MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO WOULD NOT STOP WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAD TO PULL THE CAR OVER AND LET IT STOP TO PUT IT IN PARK. I THEN CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. I HAD TO GET REAR BRAKE PADS AND REAR BRAKE ROTORS AS WELL AS THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE REAR CALIPER. THIS ALL COST ME $1,700 AS WELL AS A WEEKEND WITH MY GRANDCHILD! THERE HAD NOT BEEN ANY WARNING SIGNS THAT I NEEDED NEW BRAKES, I HAD ONLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2018. I PAID 5,500 DOLLARS FOR THE VEHICLE AND THUS FAR HAVE HAD TO PUT ALMOST 4,000 DOLLARS INTO REPAIRS AND TOW TRUCKS! NOW I WENT OUT TO MY CAR AND AS I STARTED TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AS I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT IS VERY SQUISHY AND NOW IS GOING TO THE FLOOR!. I GOT OUT OF MY VEHICLE AND MY DRIVEWAY IS COVERED IN BRAKE FLUID!!! MY MASTER CYLINDER IS OBVIOUSLY NOW NEEDING TO BE REPLACED! I PUT IN A BOTTLE OF BRAKE FLUID HOPING TO DRIVE IT TO THE SHOP AND I CAN SEE IT DRIPPING OUT OF MY VEHICLE ALREADY WITHOUT EVEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKES! I AM GOING TO HAVE TO AGAIN CALL A FLAT BED TOW TRUCK TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO THE GARAGE TO BE REPAIRED. I AM NOT SURE YET BUT I AM GUESSTIMATING THIS WILL COST ME ANOTHER 1200 DOLLARS. NOT TO MENTION I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE RACKNPINION????? 2005 NISSAN MURANO SEEMS TO BE THE WORST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE, AND I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE IT AS A DEATH TRAP. OH ONE LAST THING, THE DAY I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED SEVERAL TIMES ON THE WAY HOME. I GOT HOME AND FOUND OUT THAT I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BACK LIGHTS THAT WORKED. NOT BRAKE LIGHTS, BLINKERS, NOTHING. DEATH TRAP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS THE BRAKE LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS ABNORMALLY DEPRESSED INTO THE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE CAUSED AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE AND TIME. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND ONCE RESTARTED, THE FAILURE WAS RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURE WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.
THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING IN THE DASH AGAIN. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FIXED ONCE BEFORE WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THE NORTH LITTLE ROCK DEALERSHIP. ON LEAVING THE GARAGE WITHIN JUST A MILE, I MADE A LEFT TURN AND HEARD A CRUNCHING NOISE IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND IT CAME BACK ON. I WENT STRAIT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT BUT THE (SECOND REPLACEMENT PART) WOULDN'T BE IN TILL THE NEXT DAY SO I WAS GIVEN A LOANER FOR ONE DAY. NOW IT'S BACK ON AGAIN. ALSO NOTED SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THAT THE LUMBAR SUPPORT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NO LONGER INFLATES/DEFLATES AND HASN'T WORKED SINCE. I HAVE HAD ALL RECALLS FIXED AND HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AT 37,000 MILES AT MY COST. ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP RESURFACE BOTH FRONT ROTORS AND REPLACE A REAR CALIPER UNDER WARRANTY THAT HAD LOCKED UP 1 & 1/2 YEARS AGO. I SEE THAT THE FRONT ROTORS ARE IN NEED OF RESURFACING AGAIN EVEN THOUGH THE BREAK PADS HAVE 1/2 OF THERE WEAR LEFT TO GO. DUE TO THE HIGHLY CHROMED /CURVED DIPSTICK, GETTING AN ACCURATE OIL LEVEL READING IS NOT POSSIBLE AT ANY TIME, SO THE DIPSTICK HAS ONLY BEEN REMOVED THREE TIME SINCE PURCHASING IT AS IT IS A POINTLESS ENDEAVOR. I OWN SIX AUTOS THAT RANGE IN AGE FROM 1972 THREW THIS 2005 MURANO AND OF ALL OF THEM, THE MURANO IS THE LEAST TRUSTED ONE. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER NISSAN. *TR
TL* - WHILE DRIVING THE 2005 NISSAN MURANO AT 55 MPH ANOTHER DRIVER CUT HER OFF, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASH. IN AN ATTEMPT TO APPLY THE BRAKES THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE SPUN INTO A MEDIAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS DIDN'T FUNCTION PROPERLY AND WAS A SAFETY RISK. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE WET DUE TO THE RAIN. THE CURRENT VEHICLE AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 33,000. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES IN THE CRASH. *AK
2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS HAVE BOTH CRACKED IN LESS THAN 15,000 MILES. NISSAN SAYS THEY WILL NOT REPLACE DUE TO THE BRAKE WARRANTY BEING 12,500 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABUSED OR DRIVEN HARSHLY. THIS IS MY FAMILY CAR, IT IS TREATED WITH MUCH RESPECT. *NM

THERE WHERE NO FAILURE CODES DETECTED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO, TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
THE CURRENT DESCRIPTION HAS TO DO WITH MECHANICAL DEFECTS: I LEASED A BRAND NEW 2005 NISSAN MURANO IN APRIL 2005, AND IN AUGUST OF THAT YEAR THE CAR HAD MAJOR MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS THAT INCLUDED: ABS LIGHT CAME ON , INTERNAL FAILURE OF ABS ACTUATOR, AND RIGHT FRONT ABS SENSOR, ENGINE PROBELMS WITH LOSS OF POWER, AND ACCELERATION . NONO CURRENT THROUGH PIN CONNECTORS. HAD TO REPLACE ECM. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , INTERNAL FAILURE TO THROTTLE BODY, ALL WHEEL DRIVE LIGHT CAME ON. THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR, I ALSO HAD INTERNAL FAILURE OF A/C AMPLIFIER. MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FROM 8/5/05 - 9/13/05 A TOTAL OF 39 DAYS! I CALLED NISSAN ABOUT COMPLYING WITH THE LEMON LAW AND TO NOW THEY HAVE DECLINED TO COOPERATE. I AM CURRENTLY SEEKING LEGAL REPRESENTATION IN THIS MATTER.*AK
