EXTERIOR SURFACE OF HEADLIGHT -POLYCARBONATE LENSES EXHIBITING OXIDATION AND DETERIORATION CAUSING REDUCED ROADWAY ILLUMINATION AND REDUCED TURN SIGNAL ILLUMINATION. HEADLIGHTS SHOULD BE PRODUCED WITH A COATING DURABLE ENOUGH TO PREVENT SUCH OXIDATION AND DETERIORATION OF THE POLYCARBONATE SURFACE, AT LEAST FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE LEVER THAT CHANGES THE HEADLIGHTS FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAM IS THE SAME LEVER THAT CUTS THE HEADLIGHTS ON/OFF. THE ABSENCE OF TENSION IN THE LEVER CAUSES THE LEVER TO ROTATE WHEN GOING FROM HIGH TO LOW BEAM, CAUSING THE HEADLIGHTS TO GO OFF. THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURER HAVE BEEN ALERTED. (1) A SCREW FELL OUT WHEN I OPENED THE SUNGLASS HOLDER. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT CAME FROM AT THE TIME. (2) THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY, WHICH INCLUDES THE SUNROOF CONTROLS, THE TWO POWER SLIDING DOOR CONTROLS, AND THE REAR HATCH CONTROL, FELL FROM THE ROOF WHILE CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS. THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS HANGING IN MIDAIR BY THE WIRES, SWINGING WILDLY, AND BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE ROAD AS I WAS CROSSING THE RAILROAD TRACKS. UPON EXAMINATION, THE PLASTIC AROUND ONE SCREW HAD CRACKED APART, SEPARTING THE SCREW FROM THE ASSEMBLY, AND THE SECOND SCREW HAD JUST FALLEN OUT. (3) I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO POHANKA AND THEY REPLACED ONE SCREW AND PUT A WASHER AND A DIFFERENT SCREW FOR THE OTHER CONNECTION. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE MAPLIGHT ASSEMBLY, JUST PUT TWO DIFFERENT SCREWS AND A WASHER TO REATTACH THE MAPLIGHTS.
DOME LIGHT FUSE CONTINUOUSLY BLOWS. TOOK THREE TRIPS TO DEALER TO FIND ALL CAUSES. CAUSE WAS APPARENTLY BAD METAL STAMPING IN THE FOUR REAR-COMPARTMENT DOME LIGHTS. WHEN DOME LIGHTS HEATED UP, METAL EXPANDED AND CAUSED A SHORT, BLOWING THE FUSE.*AK
PROBLEMS WITH THE LOCATION OF THE HEADLIGHT CONTROLS.*MR THE HEADLIGHT CONTROLS, LOCATED AT THE END OF THE TURN SIGNAL ARM, ARE VERY EASILY MOVED. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON THEY CAN BE INADVERTENTLY TURNED OFF WHEN USING THE ARM TO SIGNAL A TURN. IT'S NOT UNTIL THE CONSOLE GOES DARK THAT THE DRIVER IS AWARE THAT THE LIGHTS HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF. THE CONSUMER HAS ATTEMPTED TO NOTIFY NISSAN OF THE CONDITION AND HAS ALSO NOTIFIED THE DEALER. *NM
