The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 MPH, another vehicle coming from the opposite direction drove into her lane, causing a head-on collision. The contact stated that the air bags had deployed; however, the driver's air bag had not deployed until after she hit the steering wheel from the impact. The contact sustained a fractured sternum that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled. A police report was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000.
When driving I got close to the rumble strip and when getting back into the lane the side airbags deployed not the one on the wheel or in front of passenger seat. The car didn't hit anything either
