I was mailed a letter about a recall for engine bearings. When i called the dealership, they told me they did not have the parts and that Nissan would reach out. Then i received another letter so i called back and scheduled an appt. Before the appointment, the car started exhibiting stalling behavior which included causing me hit a pot hole. Then critical engine warning lights came on, so Nissan towed it to the dealership. The dealership wants $5,000 for a bad turbo and says it is not covered under the recall, only engine bearings and a turbo hose are covered. I believe the ongoing engine failures, bad manufacturing, negligence on behalf of Nissan is causing these issues and it should be covered. This can also cause the throttle body to go bad, which would be another couple thousand dollars. This car is 3 years old, and i still owe 4 years of payments for an unsafe vehicle that i can not drive. I am attempting to escalate this with Nissan, but so far, it has not been covered.
My rogue is smelling like gas almost all the time and I am only getting 225-250 miles a full tank.
So my engine failed at 70K. Nissan replaced it with a remanufactured engine the is failing faster than the original engine. Currently at 112K, I have replaced the catalytic converter, muffler, Egr sensor twice, mass airflow sensor and oil changes at 3K just to have the vehicle in the shop for 6-7 months in 2025 alone. Do not buy a 2023 Nissan Rogue with the 1.5L. The reman engine is under a safety recall for bearing degradation, but the dealership won't even look at it unless I pay upfront for a full diag fee of 4500 dollars for a wiring harness that is a secondary condition. Apparently the remedy won't be out until late in Q4 of 2025. No rental or loaner assistance was offered at all. The vehicle has a deep knocking and won't accelerate properly to use roads and interstate driving safely. The latest symptom is low oil pressure and stalling. Completly unsafe car and ridiculous amount of time getting repaired. All of this has been since October 31st of 2024.
Dear Sir or Madam, I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue for $24,510.00 from a New Jersey Nissan dealership. Only 45 days after the purchase, Nissan issued two separate safety recalls involving a risk of crash. Nissan failed to provide the necessary parts for months and did not remedy the safety defects within a reasonable time, as required under the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act (49 U.S.C. Chapter 301). I repeatedly contacted Nissan asking for: 1.a buyback at fair market value, and 2.a rental/loaner vehicle until the recall repairs were completed. Nissan refused both requests, which violates the New Jersey Lemon Law, the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act, and the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. Because the vehicle was unsafe to drive and Nissan offered no solution, I was forced to sell it for $16,600.00. My financial loss is $7,910.00. I respectfully request: 1.A formal investigation into Nissan North America’s handling of these safety recalls, and 2.Assistance in recovering my $7,910.00 economic loss. My 2023 Nissan Rogue with less than 38,000 miles is experiencing severe engine failure. This has happened multiple times (more than 30 times) on the highway and in the city. When I am in slow-moving traffic or stop at a red light, the engine appears to rev and a warning light comes up "Engine Malfunction. Power reduce. Service now." Then the speed reduced, and no matter how hard I stepped on the gas pedal, the speed would not go past 8 miles per hour. I had to turn on the hazard lights to warn motorists behind me. To get the car to function, I turned off the engine, let it cool for a few minutes, and turned it on again. This issue has been going on for months. I took it to the Nissan dealership, and they could not find the problem. I am afraid of driving in slow traffic and of stopping at the traffic light. Please, somebody, needs to pass this on to Nissan so they can fix this problem? From online discussions, this appears to be an ongoing problem with many 2023 Nissan Rogues.
Automatic braking and crash detection alarm failed causing collision with another vehicle, totaling the car. That was the third time it happened. The first two times I was able to get the vehicle under control before collision. Problem was never addressed at a dealership due to scheduling issues. Problem first appeared in May 2025, then in July 2025. Collision totaling the vehicle occurred on August 6, 2025.
My vehicle abruptly went from 65 to 30 while driving with my children on the expressway. The check engine light and three other lights came on, and the car wouldn't start for an hr or so, and then it wouldn't accelerate past 25-30 miles, while all the check engine light and the other lights continued to stay on.
Engine keeps making noise Check Engine light keeps on due to a part on car Take and speed is slow Car will only got up to 80 top speed
I took my car to the Nissan dealer because sometimes when I am stopped with my foot on the brake the engine will start to accelerate trying to overcome the brake. The only thing I can do to stop this is turn off the engine. This has happened 4 times in the last month and not before. The dealer was unable to find anything wrong and could not duplicate this action. I have now been referred to Nissan consumer Affairs, Bureau of Automobile Repair, New Motor Vehicle Board and now your agency, I feel that this vehicle to drive because it could cause damage to me, my car and the the public. The last time this occurred I was stopped coming out of shopping center waiting for the traffic to clear when the car started accelerating which would have pushed me into the oncoming traffic. Hopefully, you'll be able to help me as now of the above mentioned agencies have been able to help. The only date I can give you for certain was 12/23/2024
while driving on the expressway, the car started to slow down, a AWD error came on dashboard, driver proceeded to emergency lane, car came to complete stop and would not restart. had car towed to nissan auto service department. P26A3-00 engine coolant bypass valve was replaced. this system malfunction could have caused loss of life .
The cruise control and safety driving system shuts off and the message “Forward driving aids disabled. Front sensor blocked” comes on. This happens every few miles now. Pulling over, shutting off the engine, and restarting it resets the system, but it cuts out again. Sometimes if I just keep driving, it will reset itself in a few miles. This has been dangerous at highway speeds due to it coming on and vehicle decelerating suddenly. It's also dangerous because it shuts off the vehicle avoidance system. In a 4 hour trip it can happen up to 6 to 8 times. We've taken it to dealership, but they have not found an error message etc and said they cannot do anything about it unless the issue gets worse or a recall is created for the Lane Camera, which has had reported issues of overheating. The following web link has more information of other drivers with the exact same issue as I described... I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE Forward Collision Warning on this car since i have had it new . It has been to the local dealer and still has not been fixed. The problem is when it get colder 35 to 50 degrees F out site it will stop working for about 30 to 45 min then start working again for 45 min to an hour then stop working again. during the time it does not work the speed control stops working and forward collision sensors do not work. I have reported this to the local dealer and it has been in the shop over 5 times about this. I was told it is a software problem.
I was parking car. Car unexpectedly accelerated, hit object in front of me & continued accelerating off road into a field until I got car into neutral. Car has not been inspected for cause. At time of accident I assumed I made an error. Danger is car was going extremely fast with no control to stop. Drive off road maybe 20 feet after hitting a manual water pump (at campsite). There were children playing in area.
Forward driving aids disabled, front sensor blocked, malfunction Issue confirmed by dealer 3 sensors replaced Problem continues
Random and recurring Warning light error ‘Engine Malfunction Reduced Power Service Now’ corresponding with reduced acceleration while actively driving. It has been attributed to a Turbo engine malfunction
