NOTES FROM EMAIL RECEIVED FROM NISSAN SHOP 'TECH FOUND DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY NEED TO BE REPLACE FOR THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO GO OFF' AND ' ITS THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE SO ITS HARD TO SAY IF IT WILL KEEP YOU IN UR SEAT OR DISCHARGE THE SYSTEM IF IN AN ACCIDENT. SO THE SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK AS DESIGNED WITH THE LIGHT ON.' THIS SAME MODEL HAD A SEATBELT RECALL NISSAN RECALL : WIRE HARNESS 2005 NISSAN TITAN SO I WANTED TO SEE IF THIS WAS A RELATED ISSUE. THE COMPANY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY $650 FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE TRUCK IS OLDER BUT ONLY HAS 93K MILES ON IT AS MY DAD WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND WAS IN FAILING HELP. DASHBOARD LIGHT SHOWS AIR BAG ISSUE. HARNASS WAS REPLACED TWICE UNDER WARRANTY, THEY NOW WANT $800. TO FIX. AS ITS BEEN A SAFETY ISSUE AND FIXED TWICE I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS.
WHILE DRIVING ONE THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED MY VEHICLE START TO SHUTTER AND SHUT DOWN AS IF IT RAN OUT OF GAS. MY FUEL GAUGE SAID HALF A TANK SO I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THE PROBLEM UNTIL I WALKED TO THE GAS STATION TO FILL UP A GAS CAN. I PUT 2 GALLONS OF GAS INTO MY FUEL TANK THAT SAID I HAD A HALF A TANK. I STARTED MY TRUCK AND IT STARTED. SINCE THAT INCIDENT IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES, THE MOST RECENT BEING YESTERDAY 07/02/18. I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP TODAY IN HOPES THAT IT FIXES THE PROBLEM.
TAKATA RECALL .A RECALL HAS BEEN NOTED FFOR THIS MATTER. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER THE DAY AFTER I FOUND OUT THROUGH MEDIA. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL DUE TO A SYSTEM ISSUE WITH MY TRUCK NOT ALLOWING THE UPLOAD OF DATA. THE DEALER STATED TO COMPLETE THE RECALL I WOULD NEED TO PURCHASE A $900 UNIT TO ALLOW MY TRUCK TO UPLOAD THE DATA REQUIRED. I AM FURIOUS THAT DUE TO A RECALL, I NEED TO PAY $900 TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS. THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET PARTS ON MY TRUCK SO EVERYTHING IS FACTORY ISSUED.
ON THE KING CAB REAR DOORS THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE AIR BAG BREAK DUE TO THE MANUFACTURE DESIGN OF PLACING COOPER WIRING IN A PLACE THAT FREQUENTLY BENDS. AS A RESULT THE WIRE COME APART AND CAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO REGISTER A FAULT WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM.
Clock spring in steering column is faulty. Air bags do not work. This is very common among Nissan titan owners.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS RANGING 50 TO 55 MPH, A CRASH OCCURRED WITH A VEHICLE THAT PROCEEDED THROUGH A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE SYSTEM.

REAR SEAT BELTS (LEFT & RIGHT) HAVE NO HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS WHICH CAUSE MY GRANDMOTHER & MOTHER (BOTH ARE SHORT ABOUT 5 FT TALL) TO NOT USE THE SEAT BELT CORRECTLY OR NOT TO USE IT AT ALL BECAUSE THE BELT IS RUBBING THEIR NECKS CAUSING SLIGHT RED BURNS ON THEIR NECKS EVERY TIME THEY USE IT. *TR

2005 NISSAN TITAN SEAT BELT LOCKED UP WHILE RETRACTING CAUSING A CHILD TO BE ENTANGLED IN THE SEAT BELT. UPON INSPECTION MECHANIC REPLACED PART AS A WARRANTY ITEM. *KB THE SEAT BELT HAD BEEN INADVERTENTLY PLACED IN THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING MODE. THE SEAT BELT CONTINUED TO TIGHTEN AROUND THE CHILD'S WAIST AS SHE MOVED. THE CONSUMER HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT TOO FREE THE CHILD. *NM
THE SEAT BELT ANCHORS ON THE REAR SEATS ARE TOO HIGH SINCE THERE ARE NO HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE SEAT BELT; SHORTER PASSENGERS DO NOT USE THE SEAT BELT AT ALL SINCE THE BELT CUTS INTO THEIR NECK. *TR
MY 125 LB WIFE DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE SEAT SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAG IN MY 05 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE IT DOESN'T HAPPEN 100% OF THE TIME, IT HAS OCCURRED REPEATEDLY. THE DEALER CHECKED & CONFIRMED THAT THE SYSTEM IS OPERATING NORMALLY AND STATED THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING MORE. AT THIS POINT MY WIFE IS RIDING IN OUR TRUCK WITHOUT AN AIRBAG. WHILE SHE DOES WEAR A SEAT BELT, I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE COMFORT OF KNOWING THE FULL SAFETY SYSTEM IS OPERATIONAL IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. RESEARCH AND OTHER COMPLAINTS POSTED HERE SHOW THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM. *NM
