I HAVE A NISSAN NORTH AMERICA RECALL LETTER ADDRESSED TO ME FOR RECAL 06V-459, WHICH IS A AIRBAG LIGHT AND WIRING HARNESS RECALL ON MY DRIVERS SIDE. I WAS CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR AT RIVERHEAD NISAAN IN NEW YORK AND LATER FOUND MY RECALL NOTICE AND HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND NO QUALITY ASSISTANCE. MY RECALL LETTER SAYS I AM ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENTS AND TO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. I AM DOING SO BECAUSE NISSAN IS NOT HELPING ME. RIVERHEAD NISSAN HAS MY REPAIR IN THEIR SYSTEM. ATTACHED ARE PHOTOS OF THE RECALL OF IMPORTANCE. FILED WAS CLAIMED JAN 2021 WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. REPAIR HAPPENED COUPLE YEARS AGO.

MY TITAN STALLS WHILE DRIVING, A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! REPLACED THE RECALLED ECM RELAY, THAT WORKED FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, THEN THE SAME ISSUE. FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE RESEARCHED, THE IPDM IS ALSO A CULPRIT BUT NISSAN WON'T RECALL/REPLACE THESE.
I WAS LOOKING ON THIS WEBSITE AND SEEN 6 RECALLS FOR THE 2005 NISSAN TITAN WHICH I HAVE AND AND NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE WIRE HARNESS ON THE DRIVERSIDE REAR DOOR. WELL ALL THOSE WIRES ARE BROKEN OFF NO MUSIC FROM THE REAR SPEAKERS ON EITHER SIDE. I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WERE I TRY TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRUCK BARELY WANTS TO MOVE AND SOMETIMES TAKES LONG TO FINALLY START. WHEN YOUR IDLING IT SOUNDS AS IF IT'S GOING TO BREAK DOWN. WHEN THE A.C. IS ON IT MAKES A VERY LOUD ANNOYING SOUND. DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND VEHICLE SPUTTERS AS IF OUT OF FUEL UNTIL IT DIED. COULD NOT GET TRUCK TO CRANK AND WAS CLEARLY A LACK OF FUEL. FUEL GAUGE READ 1/4 TANK FULL EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED IN CAMPAIGN 10V074000. FORTUNATRLY A POLICE OFFICER ASSISTED IN PUSHING MY TRUCK INTO A PARKING LOT. I CALLED A FAMILY MEMBER TO DRIVE UP WITH A GAS CONTAINER TO PUT A FEW GALLONS IN. SURE ENOUGH, CRANKED RIGHT UP. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I CONTACTED NISSAN OF USA, MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CAMPAIGN AND BECAUSE OF THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF MY TRUCK I WOULD NOT RECEIVE ASSISTANCE IN THE REPAIR OF THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HWY AND MY ENGINE SHUT DOWN. I MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER, PUT IT IN PARK TURN THE KEY OFF THEN STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. STARTED YESTERDAY, AND DOES IT ABOUT EVERY TEN MILES. THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT READ CORRECTLY BELOW APPROXIMATELY A QUARTER TANK. IT OCCASIONALLY WILL STICK AND FLUCTUATE BUT ALWAYS AROUND A QUARTER TANK AND BELOW. THE FIRST TIME I REALIZED THE PROBLEM I HAD TO HAVE MY TRUCK TOWED HOME, THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING MAJOR WHEN ALL I DID WAS RUN OUT OF GAS.
NISSAN PREVIOUSLY ISSUED A RECALL DEALING WITH THE WIRING HARNESS ISSUE, #06V459000 TO REROUTE AND CHANGE THE WIRING COVER. THIS AFFECTS THE AIRBAGS AND THE OPERATION OF THE SEAT BELTS, AS WELL AS THE AUDIO SYSTEM. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING AND THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR SPEAKER DOESN'T WORK. THE RECALL WAS JUST A TEMPORARY COVER UP OF THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE CAME UP AGAIN AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT, WANTING TO CHARGE UPWARDS OF $1000 TO REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESSS, A PROBLEM THEY ARE ALREADY AWARE OF. THE RECALL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, ONLY A TEMPORARY COVER-UP.
LOST POWER TO VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING, POWER STEERING, BRAKES, ETC. NARROWLY AVOIDED ACCIDENT. GAS GAUGE INDICATED A QUARTER TANK OF GAS WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY EMPTY. CONTACTED NISSAN, THEY SAID THERE WAS RECALL FOR THIS FOR THE YEAR MAKE AND MODEL, BUT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, MY ENGINE STALLED. I LOST ALL ENGINE POWER TO MY TRUCK, WITH NO ERROR CODES, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I HAD TO PLACE MY TRUCK IN NEUTRAL WHILE AT SPEED IN TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT LANE AND COAST TO A SAFE LOCATION ON THE RIGHT SHOULDER. DURING THIS TIME, I HAD NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. AFTER I SAFELY STOPPED ON THE SHOULDER, I TRIED TO RESTART MY ENGINE. MY ENGINE WOULD NOT START. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, MY TRUCK HAD INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WHILE STOPPED, WITH AN ERROR CODE THAT POINTED TO AN INEFFECTIVE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAD MY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR REPLACED, MY ECM RELAY REPLACED, AND MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED, AT A COST OF ~ $5000 TOTAL. I AM NOW TOLD THE INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE IS LIKELY THE CULPRIT FOR ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS, WHICH WILL COST ME ANOTHER $700 TO REPLACE. IN RESEARCHING PREVIOUS RECALLS, THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL FOR THE ECM RELAY, BUT NOT THE IPDM MODULE. IT APPEARS IN OTHER TITAN FORUMS THAT SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT A RECALL LETTER WAS RECEIVED FOR THE FUEL TANK; HOWEVER, A VIN SEARCH SHOWED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBERS: 28501379 AND 32622188. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO PROVIDED THE OPTION OF A VEHICLE TRADE-IN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
NISSAN REPLACED THE ECU RELAY AND FRONT FAN THEY INSTALLED A JUMPER FUSE INTO THE IPDM AND NOW VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING NOW THE VEHICLE WONT EVEN TURN OVER. THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED NOW CHARGED WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION I GET ZERO RESPONSE FROM THE STARTER AS IF THE IPDM WAS BLOWN. THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING LIKE 10 - 20 WITHIN A 5 MI TRIP TO GET BACK HOME. *TR

AFTER CALLING AROUND WE DETERMINED THRU A NISSAN SERVICE ADVISOR THAT WE SHOULD TRY FILLING THE TANK WITH GAS, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TELLING HIM IT READ BETWEEN A QUARTER AND HALF A TANK. AFTER PUTTING IN 5 GALLONS AND TURNING THE KEY AND CRANKING IT A FEW SECONDS, IT STARTED RIGHT UP. IT HAS DONE THIS AT VARIOUS TIMES SINCE THIS FIRST OCCURRENCE AND CONTINUES TO VARY. I NOW HAVE TO KEEP NO LESS THAN HALF A TANK OF GAS AT ALL TIMES OR I WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER AND HAVE TO PULL OFF. NISSAN HAS A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN 2005-2009 ARMADA AND TITAN FUEL GAUGE INACCURACY, CAMPAIGN ID#R1010 & NHTSA#10V-074, BUT SAY THAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VIN. I HAVE TRIED REPEATEDLY TO ASK NISSAN HOW THIS SAFETY CAMPAIGN DOES NOT AFFECT MY VEHICLE IF IT TOO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, AS I'VE BEEN TOLD ITS THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH IS WHAT THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN COVERS. *TR
