ON OCTOBER 1, 2020, MY TRUCK STALLED WHILE PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND WOULD NOT RESTART. A YOUTUBE VIDEO LINK IS PROVIDED AT THE END OF THIS DESCRIPTION. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP EVER SINCE. TODAY (DECEMBER 7, 2020) MARKS 68 CONSECUTIVE DAYS OUT OF SERVICE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THE TRUCK REMAINS UNDRIVEABLE. THE PROBLEM WAS IMMEDIATELY DIAGNOSED AS A BAD CRANK POSITION SENSOR AND TONE RING. THESE SAME PARTS WERE RECALLED UNDER 20V-475 (FCA RECALL W58) BACK IN AUGUST. I RECEIVED WRITTEN NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL APPROXIMATELY 1 WEEK AFTER MY TRUCK FAILED. FCA AND BIG O DODGE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO REPAIR MY TRUCK IN A REASONABLE TIME, AND ARE UNWILLING TO PROVIDE A FAIR TRADE-IN VALUE OR DISCUSS BUYPACK. THIS, DESPITE THE TRUCK BEING PART OF THE ECODIESEL CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT THAT REQUIRES FCA TO BUYBACK TRUCKS THAT EXPERIENCE >30 DAYS OUT OF SERVICE DURING THE 18 MONTHS FOLLOWING THE EMISSIONS MODIFICATION SOFTWARE. MY RAM 1500 TRUCK HEMI ENGINE STARTED WITH A TICKING SOUND, THEN DEVELOPED INTO A STALLING ISSUE AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISPLAY. THE DODGE RAM DEALER SAID IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE LIFTERS AND REQUIRES THE DISMANTLING OF THE ENTIRE ENGINE TO FIX. THE SERVICE WRITER ADVISED ME THAT THIS WAS A DANGEROUS CONDITION, AND IF NOT REPAIRED THE ENGINE WOULD BLOW UP! I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS ISSUE IS RAMPANT OF THE RAM TRUCKS WITH THE HEMI ENGINE. THERE ARE MANY VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE DISCUSSING THIS PROBLEM, AND THE MECHANICS ON THESE VIDEOS SAY THAT THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY WIDESPREAD. THE REPAIR WOULD COST OVER $ 6,000. I HAVE SAVED SOME OF THE VIDEOS AND WILL GLADLY SHARE THEM WITH YOU IF NEEDED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:19V757000(ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER HENDRICK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT WILMINGTON (219 S COLLEGE RD, WILMINGTON, NC 28403). WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED HE STOPPED AND CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND SAW NO VISIBLE ISSUES SO HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN HE PULLED INTO HIS DRIVEWAY THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED HE GOT OUT AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED HE TRIED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT HIMSELF WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. HOWEVER, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS AT HIS RESIDENCE AND CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
2 DIFFERENT TIMES WHEN I START MY TRUCK THERE IS NO POWER STEERING, TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. THERE IS A RECALL ON SOME TRUCKS SAME YEAR AND MAKE BUT MY TRUCK'S VIN # DOES NOT FALL WITHIN RECALL #'S ALTHOUGH IT IS HAVING SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL- COMPANY WILL NOT COVER.
I NOTICED A STALE SMELL COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAB THAT WOULD COME AND I WOULD ENCOUNTER A STALE SMELL THAT WOULD COME AND GO AWAY. I GOOGLED THESE IF ANYONE ELSE WITH THE SAME TRUCK WAS HAVING THIS ISSUE. I CAME ACROSS SOMEONE AND THEY STATED TO CHECK UNDERNEATH THE BACK SEAT AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS WET FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. I THINK IT IS COMING FROM THE THE REAR BODY EXHAUST VENTS THAT ARE NOT SEALING PROPERLY.
THE VEHICLE ENGINE GOT ON FIRE. THE CAUSE WAS A DEFECT ON DIESEL EGR COOLER.
Vehicle has displayed error code C0020. Also dashboard display has showed Service Electrical Brake System and ABS failure. This has appeared since 2020. Parts to replacement the failed unit were not available till Jan. 2023. FCA has known of this issue has they released a Star Online Publication Case:#S2005000004, release date: 04/28/2020. This is issue that has been on going has online web forums, and individuals have express frustation with the manufacturer failing to acknowledge a safety problem. Have not had it service has the is around $1,000.00 and believe that FCA should address this has a safety issue and issue a vehicle recall.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE THROTTLE FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING DOWN THE ROAD AS I'M DRIVING THE TRUCK JUST LOOSES ALL POWER CUTS OFF AND I HAVE TO JERK IT TO SIDE OF THE ROAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. IT'S THE TONE WHEEL FOR CRANKSHAFT AND CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR. AND WHEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX MY TRUCKS AND I WAS GIVEN A CASE WORKER WITH FCA OR DODGE AND THEY CAN'T GET THE PARTS IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS.
UNABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. CHEAP DESIGN CABLE AT THE HANDLE BROKE. VERY COMMON PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT IN THE EVENT OF A WRECK OR FIRE. I WAS JUST TRYING TO GET OUT AFTER PARKING. NO TRAMA OR DAMAGE.

THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT CALLED SEVERAL UNKNOWN DEALERS AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 127,010.

P0364 FUEL SENSOR FAILURE. GAS INSTRUMENT GAUGE SUDDENLY GOES EMPTY WHILE IN MOTION AND NO LONGER WORKS. DEFECTIVE FUEL SENDING UNIT SENSOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO HAVE FAILING PARTS INSIDE GAS TANK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 247,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF WHICH WARNING LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS NOTED THAT THERE WERE THREE UNRELATED RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED SEVERAL DEALERS INCLUDING BOB ALLEN DODGE LOCATED AT 725 MAPLE AVE, DANVILLE, KY 40422, (866-403-8148, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE ASSOCIATED WITH THE STEERING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
KEY FOB WILL NOT START ENGINE. IF YOU UNLOCK DOORS & BEGIN PROCESS AGAIN, IT USUALLY STARTS. FOB BATTERY HAS BEEN CHANGED SO WEAK BATTERY NOT LIKELY THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGIN BEGAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO.HAPPENS A COUPLE TIMES EA WEEK.
HELLO I JUST SAW THE RECALL FOR.THE RAM 1500 NO :20V-475 WHICH IS A COMMON FAILURE PART ON THOSE TRUCK. ANOTHER MAJOR FAILURE PART ON THOSE TRUCK IS THE MAIN BEARING ON THE CRANKSHAFT. WHEN THEY FAIL THE BASE OF.THE MOTOR EXPLODE AND IS A TOTAL LOSS. FCA ADMITTED THE PROBLEM WHEN THEY CHANGE THE OIL GRADE. BUT THEY STILL FAIL ALOT. WHEN THEY FAIL THE TRUCK ALSO LOST ALL THE POWER SINCE THE ENGINE SUDDENTLY STOP WORKING AND SEND PIECE FLY UNDER THE TRUCK RISKING INJURY OTHER PEOPLE FOLLOWING. THEY ARE SEVERAL BEARING FAILURE OF THOSE ECODIESEL ENGINE. I DIDNT EXPERIENCE THIS BUT ONLINE THOSE BEARING ARE REFERED AS TICKING BOMB. NOBODY KNOW WHEN THEY FAIL, BUT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY. SOME PEOPLE HAD THIEIR MOTOR CHANGED UP TO THREE TIME. MOST OF THEM ARE 14-15 TRUCK SINCE THEY RUN ON OLD OIL SPECIFICATION. BUT THE 16-18 STILL FAIL . ACCORDING TO A STUDY ON A FAILED ENGINE , ITS SUPPOSED DUE TO A LACK OF BEARING LUBRIFICATION. THE OIL KEY AND HOLE GET CLUGGED ( MOSTLY BY SOOT PROBABLY FROM THE EGR ) SO THE BEARING WONT GET LUBRICATED , OVERHEAT, FAILED SEND THE PISTON AND ROD INTO THE OIL PAN, WHICH RESULT OF A CATASTROPIC FAILURE SEND OIL AND PARTS ON THE ROAD SOMETIME AT HIGHEAY SPEED, WHICH RESULT AS A PARTIAL BRAKE AND STEERING LOSS. SOME FAILED AT HIGHER MILLAGE SUCH AS 90 000 MILES AND SOME FAIL UNDER 20 000 MILES
RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER LOCKED UP CAUSING FRONT WHEEL TO SMOKE AND CREATE FIRE RISK. LEFT FRONT CALIPER LOCKED UP 10 MONTHS AGO CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HEAVIER SMOKE. I FILED A REPORT LAST YEAR FOR THE LEFT FRONT CALIPER.
W58 RECALL. STILL NO REMEDY. SCARED TO DRIVE TRUCK DUE TO SAFETY
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), and the vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the vehicle was repaired under the recall; however, the failure occurred, and tone wheel became delaminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the vehicle had already received the one-time free repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEICHLE WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A TURN ALL ASSIST WAS GONE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY PULLING A SMALL 16 FT. CAMPER (I77 NB, MM ~68 IN NORTH CAROLINA), I NOTICED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ALONG WITH OTHER WARNING LIGHTS, I TRIED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND. I WAS ABLE TO PULL SAFELY ONTO THE SHOULDER AND POPPED THE HOOD WHERE I NOTICED FLAMES. I TOLD MY FAMILY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND TRIED TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES (WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM MY CAMPER) TO NO AVAIL. WE CALLED 911 AND WAITED FOR THE FIRE CREW TO ARRIVE. THE VEHICLE IS A COMPLETE LOSS. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE (19V-757) REGARDING EGR ISSUES AND POTENTIAL FOR ENGINE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE LOCAL DEALER AND HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED ON MAY 18TH. THE RECALL WAS LISTED AS COMPLETE AND INSPECTED, HOWEVER AFTER REPORTING THE INCIDENT TO FCA, THE STATUS OF THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO OPEN. ATTACHED YOU WILL SEE PHOTOS OF THE SHOP VISIT SHOWING RECALL COMPLETION. I ALSO HAVE A SCREEN SHOT OF THE INITIAL VIN LOOK UP ON 8/8/2020 SHOWING THE RECALL COMPLETED, HOWEVER THERE IS NOW AN UPDATE SHOWING THE RECALL AS OPEN, UPDATED ON 8/17/2020. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT, HOWEVER I WAS QUICK TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, OBSERVE THE FIRE AND TELL MY FAMILY TO EXIT. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO FCA CASE [XXX] WHO HAVE SENT OUT AN INVESTIGATOR TO THE VEHICLE. FCA TODAY ISSUED ME A STATEMENT SAYING THE INFORMATION AT HAND DOES NOT PERMIT THEM TO ASSOCIATE THE FIRE WITH A MANUFACTURING OR ASSEMBLY ERROR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS SON WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH, AN ABNORMAL ODOR APPEARED AS FLAMES WERE UNDER THE HOOD. THE DRIVER MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EXITED THE VEHICLE WHEN IT ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED MINOR BURNS TO BOTH LEGS. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE POLICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACTS HOUSE WHERE IT WAS PENDING AN INSPECTION BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER BUCKALEW CHEVROLET (1100 I-45 S, CONROE, TX 77301) WAS CONTACTED WHERE THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON AUG 7,2020 AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A TECHNICIAN WOULD COME OUT TO HIS RESIDENTS BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.*DT*JB
AN ISSUE WAS NOTICED WITH MY 2015 RAM ECODIESEL BECAUSE OF A LARGE AMOUNT OIL WAS POURING OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK WHILE BRIEFLY STOPPED AT A STORE. ONCE THE ISSUE WAS NOTICED, THE ENGINE WAS IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. UPON INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT OIL WAS POURING OUT OF THE COOLANT RESERVOIR OVERFLOW AND IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE RESERVOIR WAS FULL OF OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FOR SERVICE TO PREVENT THE POTENTIAL OF COOLANT GETTING INTO THE ENGINE OIL PAN AND/OR TO PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM LOSING OIL PRESSURE AND/OR ALL OIL. UPON RESEARCH ONLINE, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE RAM ECODIESEL ENGINE HAVING OIL COOLER FAILURES. IT WAS CONFIRMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE OIL COOLER HAD FAILED IN MY RAM ECODIESEL ENGINE AS WELL. WITH ALL OF THE POSTINGS DISCOVERED ONLINE REGARDING FAILED OIL COOLERS ON THE RAM ECODIESEL ENGINES, IT IS BELIEVED THAT THERE IS A DESIGN/MANUFACTURING FLAW ASSOCIATED WITH THE OIL COOLER ON THESE ENGINES. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ISSUES WITH THE RAM ECODIESEL ENGINES AND I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS ANOTHER ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE REMEDIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. INCLUDING INSTALLATION OF A NEW OIL COOLER, NEW COOLANT HOSES, RENTAL CAR, AND TOWING, THIS ENTIRE ISSUE COST ME $2,128.52.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS. WHINING NOISE HAPPENING ON A TAKEN CARE OF VEHICLE. HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. DUE TO ISSUES AND RECALLS OF OTHER YEARS I AM WONDERING IF THAT IS THE CASE FOR THIS YEARS MODEL AS WELL. HAS THIS BEEN LOOKED INTO AS A PROBLEM ON THE 2015 RAM SINCE PREVIOUS AND FUTURE YEARS HAD THE ISSUE
PURCHASED NEW: 08/03/2015 FIRST ENGINE FAILED 4/27/18 (WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY) TRAVELING 65MPH ON I-495 BELTWAY AND IN THE SPAN OF 10 SECONDS, ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON, THE ENGINE MADE A TERRIBLE GRINDING NOISE, AND IT COMPLETELY DIED ON THE SHOULDER. EMISSIONS SETTLEMENT: 05/2019 (100K WARRANTY INFO FROM DATE OF EMISSIONS SOFTWARE UPDATE). DRASTIC LOSS IN MPG (5MPG), POWER, AND TURBO LAG AFTER EMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE. SECOND ENGINE FAILED: 8/03/2020. TRAVELING 65MPH ON I-83. NO LIGHTS, ONLY A ENGINE KNOCKING SOUND. REROUTED TO DEALER 1 MILE AWAY, AND IT COMPLETELY DIED 1/2 MILE LATER. MAJOR RECALLS OVER THE SHORT LIFE OF THIS TRUCK, AND NOW FCA IS POTENTIALLY UNWILLING TO COVER THE COST OF THE 3RD ENGINE, EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAS ~30K MILES ON IT. DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IN WRITING THE BLOWN ENGINE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THE NEW ENGINE WAS ON ORDER. THEN THEY TOLD ME THE FOLLOWING DAY THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED OR ORDERED. THE PART WARRANTY IS 2 YEARS (FOR A DIESEL ENGINE), WHICH I MISSED BY 2 MONTHS. I'VE ONLY BEEN DRIVING 1 WEEK OUT OF THE MONTH DURING COVID, SO THIS RECENT PROBLEM WOULD HAVE HAPPENED INSIDE THE 2-YEAR PART WARRANTY IF COVID HAD NOT HAPPENED. NOW I'M SPENDING MY OWN TIME AND MONEY TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC AND TOWING FEES FOR A 2ND RAM DEALERSHIP TO DO A FULL ENGINE TEARDOWN. I ALSO DON'T HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE, SO I HAVE HAD TO TAKE PERSONAL DAYS AT WORK WHEN I CAN'T BORROW VEHICLES FROM FAMILY. I PROVIDED FCA A LINK TO A FOLDER CONTAINING EVERY SERVICE RECORD, PURCHASE DATA AND PREVIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH VARIOUS DEALERS WHEN THE 1ST ENGINE BLEW AS WELL AS THE EMISSIONS SETTLEMENT. FCA CASE MANAGERS HAVE BEEN FRIENDLY AND POLITE, BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO THINK THERE IS ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the vehicle was repaired under the recall. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the vehicle immediately began to stall without warning while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact then took the vehicle to North Knox Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (225 Callahan Dr, Knoxville, TN 37912) where they kept the vehicle for a month and determined that the failure was related to the turbo charger. The turbo charger was replaced under warranty however, despite the repair, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IF I WARMED THE TRUCK UP AND SHIFT IT OFF, THEN RESTARTED IT THE STEERING WOULD WORK AGAIN. THEN THE VEHICLES STEERING WOULD GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT THEN THE DEALER REPLACED IT TWO MONTHS LATER THE FUEL SENSOR GOES OUT AND THEY REPLACED IT TOTAL COST ON MY BEHALF WAS$340.00. WINDOW MOTOR ALSO WENT OUT DRIVER SIDE AND IT WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE IS FIVE YEARS OLD WITH 37,000 MILES WHY SO MANY ISSUES. WAS THERE A RECALL FOR ALL THIS PROBLEMS
I ALMOST GOT T BONED/HIT BY A CAR WHEN I PULLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THE TRUCK LAGGED AND FINALLY PICKED UP SPEED. THEN MY HUSBAND ALMOST GOT US T BONED/HIT WHEN HE PULLED OUT AND THE TRUCK LAGGED AGAIN AND WOULD NOT PICK UP. I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO YELL AT HIM TO GO AND HE SAID" I'M TRYING, I'M PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR BUT IT WON'T GO." THERE WAS A SAFE DISTANCE IN BOTH INSTANCES TO NORMALLY PULL OUT BUT THIS TRUCK IS A REAL DANGER TO DRIVE. I THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY AND JUST TRYING TO GET USED TO THE VEHICLE I HAD JUST PURCHASED. NEXT OCCURRENCE, I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE TRUCK WITH ME AND WE HAD PICKED UP DINNER AND MILKSHAKES. I WAS GOING UP A SMALL HILL AND THE TRUCK LAGGED, YET AGAIN, WHEN IT DID PICK UP IT SPILLED THE MILKSHAKES IN MY SONS LAP. HE WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND MY DAUGHTER WAS TOSSED BACK IN THE REAR SEAT. THIS VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS AND I TOTALLY REGRET BUYING IT. I FEEL LIKE THIS WAS A HUGE MISTAKE. POWER STEERING HAS STARTED TO TURN HARD AT TIMES WHEN TURNING CORNERS. IT WILL TURN A LITTLE BIT FINE AND THEN BECOME EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN FOR ABOUT 6 INCHES ON THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WILL DO THIS 3 TIMES OR SO DEPENDING ON HOW SHARP YOU TRY TO TURN. IT HAPPEN A COUPLE TIMES LAST MONTH THEN WENT AWAY AND DROVE FINE. TODAY IT STARTED AGAIN. I WASN'T SURE I WAS GOING TO GET TURNED. IT HAS NOT GONE AWAY AS OF NOW. I JUST WENT OUT AND CHECKED. WE STATIONARY YOU CAN FEEL IT GRABBING A LITTLE. WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY IT CAN BE VERY TOUGH TO TURN. I HAVEN'T TRIED TO MAKE ANY SHARP TURNS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT AFTER EXITING THE INTERSTATE ON AN EXIT RAMP WITH A CURVE. AFTER TURNING THE WHEEL A FEW INCHES I CAN FEEL MORE TENSION THAN NORMAL. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A FAULTY ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST THAT I SEE THERE IS A RECALL ON BUT NOT ON MY TRUCK.

MECHANIC COULD STILL HEAR IT BUT SERVICE MGR SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH TRUCK "DRIVE FOR 2 WKS AND BRING BACK IF NOT HAPPY. CLEARING THE ERROR ALLOWED THE TRANSMISSION TO CONTINUE OPERATING BUT ONLY FOR A FEW MILES. FINALLY DROPPED IT OFF AT LITHIA CHRYSLER ON SATURDAY. FACTORY WARRANTY EXPIRED ON SUNDAY (5TH JULY 20) SO FCA WILL NOT HONOR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. USED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE TRANSMISSION BUT HAD TO PAY $470 EXPEDITED SHIPPING FEW. MY VEHICLE WITH UNDER 70K MILES RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM A USED DEALER HAD A SEVERE PROBLEM THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY A FEW MINUTES AFTER SHOWING 1/2 TANK I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A GAS STATION AND WAS NOT STRANDED ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS TO IMPEDE TRAFFIC AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I REFUELED AT THE GAS STATION IT SHOWED IT WAS NOT COMPLETELY EMPTY AS I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE BY THE CLUSTER. AND THROUGH SEVERAL DISCUSSIONS AND DIAGNOSING IT WAS BELIEVED TO BE A FAULTY PART IN THE FUEL SYSTEM THAT TENDS TO FALSELY SHOW EMPTY.

UPON PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND ONTO A DIVIDED HIGHWAY ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC THE TRUCK MADE NOISES AND THE ENGINE DIED, LEAVING ME TO COAST BACK INTO THE NEXT PARKING LOT ENTRANCE WHILE HOLDING UP TRAFFIC. THE FAILURE TURNED OUT TO BE THE CRANK SHAFT POSITION TONE RING. THE DESIGN OF THIS TONE RING IS A STAMPED STEEL WHEEL WITH MAGNETIC MATERIAL ADHERED TO THE RIM, IT APPEARS THAT HEAT AND TIME CAUSED THE MAGNETIC MATERIAL TO CRACK AND FAIL. ONCE A PIECE OF MAGNETIC MATERIAL CAME OFF, THE MOTOR NO LONGER HAS A PROPER CRANK POSITION SIGNAL AND WILL STOP RUNNING. ANOTHER DESIGN CONSIDERATION IS THAT THE TONE RING IS INACCESSIBLE WITHOUT REMOVING THE TRANSMISSION AND FLEXPLATE, THIS RENDERS IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE TONE RING TO AVOID A FAILURE. *TR

I RECEIVED A RECALL FROM FCA RECALL VB1. I CALLED THE DEALER ON MAY 15TH. THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN ON MONDAY MAY 18TH. I CALLED ON MONDAY AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO PARTS UNTIL JUNE 1ST. I CALLED ON JUNE 1ST TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND HE TOLD ME THERE ARE NO PARTS UNTIL JUNE 12TH!. THIS RECALL IDENTIFIES THAT THE EGR COOLER CAN LEAK COOLANT INTO THE MOTOR THAT COULD CAUSE A VEHICLE FIRE.
