FUEL SENSOR IS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO READ EMPTY ON FUEL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. WHILE DRIVING THE WARNINGS MAKES NOISE SO YOU TAKE YOU EYES OFF THE ROAD TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOUR VEHICLE.

MY TAILGATE HAS OPENED BY ITSELF 4 TIMES RECENTLY. I CHECK EVERY TIME I CLOSE IT TO ENSURE THAT IT'S CLOSED AND LOCKED PROPERLY. EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND IT'S FALLEN OPEN. THIS LAST TIME, I WAS HAULING A TRAILER AND IT OPEN BY ITSELF, GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE TAILGATE LANDED ON THE TRAILER TONGUE JACK AND DAMAGED MY TAILGATE.

THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES OR POLICE REPORT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED MCCONNELL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM 1405 HEALDSBURG AVE, HEALDSBURG, CA 95448 (888) 392-4082 WHO REFERRED CONTACT TO MANUFACTURER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
FUEL PUMP SENSOR FAILURE ON TRUCK, VERY DANGEROUS, I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN MY TANK, THE FUEL GAGE DROPS TO EMPTY. I AM AFRAID I WILL GET STUCK IN A SNOW STORM AND RUN OUT OF GAS. RAM IS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE AS IT IS VERY COMMON AND THEY WILL NOT REPAIR FOR FREE.
I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND LOST ALL POWER, NOTICED SOME STEAM/SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW FLAMES. I DID NOT HAVE AN EXTINGUISHER SO I CALLED 911. VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. IT WAS PART OF THE EGR COOLER RECALL FOR THE RAM ECODIESEL, PART WAS ON ORDER BUT HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED YET. I HAD BEEN ADDING COOLANT TO THE TRUCK EVERY FEW WEEKS , TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THIS BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS TO NOT LET THE COOLANT LEVEL GET TOO LOW. * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
CEL LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING THE EGR COOLER HAS BASICALLY FAILED, SENDING HOT COOLANT IN TO THE ENGINE. EGR COOLER AND INTAKE ARE TO BE REPLACED UN RECALL VB1. TWO DEALERSHIPS AND FCA ARE SLOW WALKING GETTING PARTS TO CONSUMERS FOR VEHICLES THAT POSE A SEVER FIRE HAZARD WITH RESTRICTING THE MAIN PART TO ONLY ONE PER WEEK PER DEALERSHIP. AT THAT RATE IT WILL TAKE FCA 107,979 WEEKS TO REPAIR ALL TRUCKS, OR 173 YEARS, ALL THE WHILE CONSUMERS ARE LEFT HAVING TO DRIVE VEHICLES POSING A SEVERE FIRE HAZARD.
DIESAL EGR COOLER RECALL VB1/NHTSA 19V/757 NO PARTS AVAILABLE AT MY DEALER. I HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST FOR OVER 4 MONTHS...I HAVE CONTACTED FCA AND THEY STATE PARTS ARE BEING LIMITED, MEANWHILE AFFECTED ARE DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT COULD CATCH FIRE AT ANY TIME.

The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact stated he replaced the battery himself, but the vehicle failed to restart. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. TOP OF THE FUEL SENDING UNIT CRACKED, CAUSING THE DIESEL FUEL TO CONTINUALLY STREAM OUT UNDER THE TRUCK AS LONG AS IT WAS RUNNING. CAUSING A FIRE HAZARD AND LOSS OF POWER.

The contact stated he replaced the two rear shocks, the two rear rotors, and the rear springs on his own. The contact continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the tire shop and had the rear tires rotated to the front. The contact stated that he continued to experience the failure The contact took the vehicle to another tire shop and exchanged all four tires and rims. The contact continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer but was unable to diagnose the vehicle. The contact continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
VEHICLE STOPPED STARTING. BATTERY GOT DRAINED AND NO LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON. I DROVE IT IN THE MORNING AND IN THE AFTERNOON IT WOULD NOT START
TOWING SMALL UTILITY TRAILER WITH 1,150 LBS LOAD AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. WITHOUT WARNING LEFT (DRIVER) REAR AXLE SEAL FAILED. GEAR OIL COATED BRAKES AND BEGAN SMOKING. UPON DIAGNOSTIC, DETERMINED LEFT REAR AXLE BEARING CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. REQUIRED LEFT AXLE SHAFT REPLACEMENT, LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL, LEFT REAR AXLE BEARING.

THE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT, THE ECM WARNING LIGHT AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V475000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WAS DELAMINATED, AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,482.
FUEL SENSOR FAILURE WARNING FOLLOWED BY NOT SHOWING FUEL LEVEL AND ACTIVATING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
WHILE MAKING ROUGHLY 90 DEGREE TURNS IN EITHER DIRECTION, THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THE STEERING DOESN'T JUST QUIT WORKING, IT'S AS IF THE STEERING WHEEL WON'T MOVE AT ALL. THE TRUCK WOULD BRIEFLY FLASH ON THE DASH 'SERVICE POWER STEERING' AND A CHIME COULD BE HEARD BUT THE CODE WOULD DISAPPEAR QUICKLY. IT DID NOT LEAVE THE CODE IN 'MESSAGES' ON THE DISPLAY. THIS IS A TRUE SAFETY HAZARD WITH SOME RAM TRUCKS ALREADY BEING IDENTIFIED AS HAVING THIS ISSUE. THE STEERING ALSO DOES THIS WHILE SITTING STILL. A PHOTO WAS TAKEN WHILE STATIONARY.
WATER CONDENSATION ON INSIDE OF PASS GER SIDE WINDSHIELD- SUNROOF SEEMS TO BE LETTING WATER COME IN THROUGH THE GLASS SEAL. CHRYSLER ISSUED A SERVICE BULLETIN HOWEVER MY TRUCK WAS NOT INCLUDED? WATER WILL COME IN VIA THE VISOR AND DURING TEMPS UNDER 50- LITERALLY THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE MIRROR I HAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER BUILT UP LIKE CONDENSATION. WHEN IT RAINS HARD WATER ALSO COMES IN AND WILL DROP FROM THE SUN VISOR TOO!
AS I WAS DRIVING, AFTER TURNING A CORNER, ACCELERATING ABOUT 40 MPH THE ENGINE VIOLENTLY SHOOK, TRUCK LOST ENGINE POWER. DEAD. AFTER TOWING BACK TO DEALER, THE FAULT CODE INDICATED THE SENSOR RING FAILED (RECALL W58). THAT WAS MID-SEPTEMBER 2020. THE TRUCK WAS IN SAME DEALERSHIP FOR MOST TIME SINCE LAST WEEK OF AUGUST 2020 WITH EMISSIONS PROBLEMS. SO FAR, ALL HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY. DEALER HAS PROVIDED ME WITH TRANSPORTATION, BUT I HAVE NOT HAD MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE, WITH NO END IN SIGHT. LOCKWOOD MOTORS MARSHALL MN HAS ALL REPAIR INVOICES, SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN WARRANTY COVERED.
2016 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi....ABS, Traction Control, BRAKE lights are all on. Had the DTS codes scanned and told the ABS Module is Bad (Internal Failure) as well as the HCU unit. Happened with approx. 24,000 miles but out of 36 month warranty. Well documented issue with these vehicles yet FCA will not recall nor help with repair. To make matters worse, the ABS module (part #68295368AC) is not currently available at all and there is no ETA either. Says part is discontinued on many Mopar parts websites. I, like who knows how many hundreds of others, are driving around with no ABS, Traction Control and also cruise control is automatically disabled. Also, the other day my Speedometer stopped working and I also lost power steering. This is a MAJOR safety issue and should have at least been covered by the powertrain warranty so at least I would not be liable for the approx $1800+ repair cost. The fact that the ABS Module is not even available is very worrisome at the very least. I have no choice but to drive my truck in this manner hoping I don't get into an accident due to failing brakes!!! I hope someone in your agency takes the time to review and research this issue and make FCA/Chrysler liable for repair of this major safety issue.
TRUCK STUCK AT HIGH SPEED, UNABLE TO DE-ACCELARATE, TURNED TRUCK TO NEUTRAL AND APPLIED HAND BRAKE TO GRADUALLY STOP. MESSAGE RECEIVED ON TRUCK;" SERVICE THROTLE BODY" MILAGE ON TRUCK 86463. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 60 MHP AND ATTEMPTED TO PASS A SLOW CAR WHEN THIS HAPPEN.
WITH GAS IN TANK THE FUEL GAUGE GOES RIGHT TO EMPTY AND THE GAS LIGHT COMES ON IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND WORKS ONLY ONCE IN A WHILE. WHILE DRIVING WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS NEEDLE GOES STRAIGHT TO EMPTY AND GAS LIGHT COMES ON. HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES IN LAST WEEK. TRUCK HAS 46000 MILES ON IT.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE BACKUP CAMERA GLITCHES INTO A STATIC SCREEN OR IS COMPLETELY BLACK AND WON'T WORK.
SIDE CURTAIN AND DRIVER SEAT AIRBAG DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH AFTER PULLING OUT OF THE GAS STATION. THERE WAS NO COLLISION. I REPORTED THE SITUATION TO RAM AND THEY TOLD ME SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK, WERE NOT TAKING CARE OF IT.
The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, he would hear an abnormal rattling noise emit from the tailgate without warning. On two occasions, the contact stated that the tailgate had unexpectedly dropped without warning while driving; he also stated that multiple attempts were made to shut the tailgate as the tailgate would fail to latch. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer where he paid out of pocket to have the failure repaired. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V347000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

VIN TOOL CONFIRMS REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE.
HAVING AN ISSUE GETTING A RECALL COMPLETED, I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS OVER THE PAST YEAR TO GET FCA RECALL VB1/NHTSA 19V-757 COMPLETED ONLY TO BE TOLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO GET FCA RECALL VA7 COMPLETED AS WELL ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY WILL DO IT WHEN VB1 IS COMPLETED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON READING CYLINDER 8 MISFIRE. UPON INVESTIGATION FROM DEALER AND LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, THE ISSUE IS A FAILED CAMSHAFT AND LIFTERS. ALL MAINTENANCE WAS DONE ON THE TRUCK BY THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE TRUCK. TRUCK ONLY HAS 157K MILES AND HAD ZERO ISSUES PREVIOUS TO MY LAST OIL CHANGE AROUND JUNE. TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE AND THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN STARTED RUNNING HORRIBLE. TRUCK WAS TAKING TO DEALER RIGHT AWAY FOR INSPECTION. TOTAL REPAIR FOR THIS IS $5,500
I'VE HAD CHRONIC PROBLEMS WITH THE BACK UP CAMERA SYSTEM SINCE I PURCHASED THIS $60,000 TRUCK. RAM HAS REPLACED THE CAMERA 3 TIMES AND DOCTORED THE CONNECTION AN ADDITIONAL TIME AND IT STILL FAILS IN A FEW MONTHS. GIVEN THE SIZE OF THIS VEHICLE, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IN AN URBAN ENVIRONMENT. NOW THE HEAD UNIT ITSELF HAS FAILED ENTIRELY AT 4 YEARS AND REQUIRES REPLACEMENT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AN EMPLOYEE WAS DRIVING THE WORK VEHICLE AT 50 MPH, THE EMPLOYEE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT HAD RAN A STOP LIGHT WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMPLOYEE SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION THE DAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT FOR STIFFNESS TO AN UNKNOWN BODY PART. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS TAKEN AWAY BY AMBULANCE AND WAS TREATED FOR UNKNOWN INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE BACK TO THE EMPLOYEE'S PLACE OF BUSINESS. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK. CAUSED BY BROKEN STUD/BOLTS TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE ENGINE. FOUR TOTAL, TWO ON EACH SIDE. BROKE CLEAN OFF AGAINST THE HEAD.
I HAVE A EXCELLERATION ISSUE WHEN TRUCK IS COLD . THIS MAY CAUSE A ACCIDENT.
POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $2,260.72 TO REPAIR. THERE WAS 59,860 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 60,000 MILES THEY SAID IT WAS NOT PART OF THE POWER TRAIN. I CHECKED ONLINE AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FOR CERTAIN 2016 DODGE RAMS MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 1/22/2015 AND 9/13/2015. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THE SAID THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SURELY SINCE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT MUST BE A DEFECTIVE PART AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED. THEY SAID MINE WAS ASSEMBLED IN JULY OF JULY OF 2016. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THAT PART WAS BUILT. THE LIGHT FIRST CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE THEN THE POWER STEERING DID NOT WORK.

TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF QUEST BUILDER'S GROUP WHO OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. AFTER EXPERIENCING ANOTHER SIMILAR FAILURE, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V036000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PAMBY MOTORS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (665 DANBURY RD, RIDGEFIELD, CT 06877) TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON HIS CO-WORKER PICKING UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER, HIS CO-WORKER EXPERIENCED THE SAME TRANSMISSION SHIFT FAILURE WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. HIS CO-WORKER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER BACK AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
There is an open recall on this vehicle, and I have been waiting for well over a year on the dealer (Larry H Miller, Boise, ID) for resolution. I am repeatedly told they have an issue getting a replacement part, but I am no longer satisfied with this response.
DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES AT 70-75 MPH ON I-91 IN CT. TRANSMISSION DROPPED INTO A LOWER GEAR AND SPEED WAS DROPPED TO ABOUT 40 MPH BEFORE TRANSMISSION SCREAMING COULD BE STOPPED. GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY AND HAD THE TRUCK TOWED FROM CT TO MA. PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED AT LOCAL REPAIR STATION AND NO PROBLEM CODE WAS FOUND. IT APPEARS THAT FCA # T15 DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM BUT THIS VIN DOES NOT SHOW A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.

OUR TRUCK STARTED GIVING US CRANKING ISSUES. IT WOULD TURN OVER CRANK AND IMMEDIATELY DIE. WE WOULD KEEP TRYING AND EVENTUALLY START. AT TIMES IT WOULDNT START. WE WOULD CALL A WRECKER TO GET IT TOWED TO MECHANIC. AFTER IT WOULD SIT WAITING ON WRECKER IT WOULD CRANK. FINALLY AFTER FIGHTING WITH THIS FOR 1 YEAR IT HAS BEEN DEAD FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE IT. IT HAS BEEN AT ANOTHER MECHANIC AND HE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE EITHER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EGR COOLER WAS REPLACED AND THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,700.
FUEL SENSOR FAILS AFTER FILLING UP VEHICLE. AFTER FILLING UP TANK THE VEHICLE WILL REGISTER FULL FOR 30 TO 40 MILES. THEN SENSOR WILL FAIL AND READ EMPTY WHICH BRINGS IN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE SERVICE POWER STEERING MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN IN MANUAL STEERING MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN ANTONIO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 11910 I-35 FRONTAGE RD, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78233, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING, SUSPENSION GEAR AND STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEM NEEDED REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,501.
