Truck has stopped completely including brakes and truck shutting completely off three times, causing almost collisions three times now. This is an extreme safety risk, this vehicle was just purchased from dealer three month ago and all maintenance and recalls thus far have been dealt with
I am reporting a serious and ongoing safety issue with my Ram 1500. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of complete power loss while driving, including at highway speeds. During these events, the vehicle abruptly shuts down without warning. The dashboard lights illuminate (including the battery and check engine lights), followed by total electrical failure. The engine turns off, the radio and displays go dark, and I lose power steering and braking assist, then the emergency brake engages, making the vehicle extremely difficult to control. These incidents have occurred more than once and are unpredictable. In at least one instance, I was forced to pull over on the highway after the vehicle lost all power while in motion. The loss of steering and braking assistance created a dangerous situation, especially as I have had my children in the vehicle. After one incident, the vehicle was jump-started and the battery was replaced; however, the issue recurred. A mechanic previously reported that no diagnostic codes were found and no problem could be identified, despite the severity of the failure. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for further evaluation. This issue appears consistent with other reports of Ram 1500 vehicles experiencing sudden loss of motive power and electrical failure. The intermittent nature of the defect and lack of diagnostic codes make it difficult to detect, increasing the safety risk. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle, as it can shut down without warning while driving. I am requesting further investigation into this issue due to the significant risk of crash or injury.
I have been in for the recall about stalling engine. After doing the recall the problem still remains. My engine has stall 3 different times after said recall. Also seeing online there has been many people complaining about the same problem. Dodge should look into the problem with a different recall out there. This is dangerous.
While coming to a stop the truck shut off. Not stop/ start. The engine shut off truck was still in drive, and emergency brake got engaged. Had to put the truck in park then I could start the engine. Then disabled emergency brake.
my abs and traction control light is on, took it in and got the recall done at slimans in amhust ohio, light is still on. they want $300 to test it further. i have seen several posts about the control module failing. i took it in to another garage, they replaced the rear sensor. still didnt fix the problem. i dont have $800 to replace the control modular just to see if it fixes the problem. there needs to be another recall to fix this issue. i can evan use my 4 wheel drive right now.
While driving at low speeds in downtown traffic with the automatic stop/start system active, I stopped at a red light. The system engaged and shut off the engine as expected. However, when I attempted to accelerate, the truck stalled. The gear shift unexpectedly moved from Drive to Park, and the parking brake activated. I applied the brake and restarted the engine, but had to manually disengage the parking brake before continuing. At the next red light, the stop/start system again shut off the engine. Upon attempting to drive, the truck stalled a second time. I restarted the engine, but this time the auto stop alert and battery warning lights illuminated. The truck moved forward very slowly, appeared to struggle shifting into gear, and then suddenly lurched forward. I had to quickly apply the brakes to regain control. The vehicle is currently at the dealership undergoing inspection for a faulty tire pressure sensor and this auto stop system problem. This is the third time the truck has experienced the auto stop issue in the past two years. The problem has not been able to be replicated at the dealership and no repairs have been made.
I would prefer that the vehicle be bought by RAM due to the unsafe issues ie . (the vehicle stopped at a all of the sudden while driving ,the emergency brake activated while driving, the transmission gave out and would not accelerate while driving on the highway, my wife and I could have been killed.
Just driving car simple road driving, never been off road. ABS light traction control module dashboard lights come on as faulty. Four-wheel-drive will not engage, cruise control will not work. Brought it to the dealer hooked up to a machine faulty speed sensor. Initial repair of speed sensor was performed however, ABS lights , TCM lights are still on, four-wheel-drive and cruise control will still not work.
The dealership is installing used brake parts that could cause the brakes to fail. This vehicle will be up for sale to where anybody can buy it.
October 24 breaks dud y work and caused a crash. August 11th breaks didn’t engage and caused a crash
My truck has been at the dealer for over a month for recall 24V-653 for part 68728723AA (ABS control module). Dealer took the truck in fried the abs module trying to flash the module. They ordered a new module but has been on backorder and there is no ETA on the part delivery. I have yet to even receive a fair replacement of the vehicle that is out of order from either dealer or manufacture.
The Safety of my wife and two Sons was put at risk when the Brakes of the vehicle failed to respond, which put another driver at risk as well The problem has been confirmed by a professional investigator working directly for Chrysler stating that Due to a brake hose tear triggered by a bad factory design of the distribution of the hoses and harness on this specific vehicle model there were no warning lamps, messages our other symptoms at any time since the purchase of the vehicle
More than once now the vehicle has applied its parking brake, the engine stalled, and stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road. It then required me to reset the emergency brake to “release”, return the shifter knob to park, and restart the vehicle in the middle of busy intersections!!
