Which specific part malfunctioned is unknown. I was slowing down as I was approaching a stop sign when the engine shut off. Next, the automatic emergency braking was activated. I had to restart my vehicle, disengage the parking brake, and shift back into drive. I continued to proceed on my way driving significantly under the speed limit, for fear of this occurring again.
On July 20, 2024, I was stopping at a red light at a slow speed when the electronic parking brake engaged on its own. I couldn’t turn it off and the truck would not move forward when the light turned green. I had to turn the vehicle on and off several times to disengage the brake. We then turned off the brake assist off in the user settings/computer. This could have caused a rear end collision but thankfully the cars behind us were also traveling at a slow speed and saw we had our hazard lights on.

The system is supposed to alert then activate the brakes if a collision is going to occur. It is supposed to be a safety feature that’s adds an additional layer of safety to the vehicle which I paid more for. There seems to be no solution from Chrysler
While driving the steering randomly gets stiff when turning to the left. This seems to only happen while on the highway. After googling issues with this model vehicle, I found that the electronic power steering system could be the culprit. I am not sure but it makes sense. This is a big safety concern because it could cause an accident and possible life loss. I have taken this vehicle in a few times about this issue. I have even showed the dealer a few videos of the issue while it was happening, but the dealer for some reason said thy could not reproduce the problem.
April 8th, 2022, we began having concerns with the safety of the vehicle when the vehicle would not turn off after pressing the off button. The speakers were intermittently working (specific zones not working and eventually all sound lost), no back up alert sounds when vehicle in reverse. After multiple attempts, the vehicle turned off. The next day we started the vehicle and it seemed as though everything had “reset” itself. On 4/13/23 the standing issues mentioned above continued to occur. We brought the vehicle back into Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Brooksville. The Body Control Module was replaced at that time. We picked up the vehicle on 4/25/23. After leaving the dealership, approximately 3 miles down the road, the radio and speakers began to malfunction, and the back-up sensor was not alarming nor producing any sound. The dealership was immediately contacted, and we were told to bring the vehicle back to be serviced once business hours resumed (it was 5:30pm when we picked the vehicle up). Videos were taken to corroborate malfunctions and provided to dealership. 4/26/23 - While driving 45 mph. the emergency brake engaged, bringing the vehicle to a screeching halt. On 5/10/23, while driving at 55mph, the vehicle lost all power The sound system/speakers lost all functionality as well. Videos were taken to corroborate malfunctions and provided to dealership.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance sensor failed to function as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Byers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (465 S Hamilton Rd, Columbus, OH 43213) and the dealer was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
After reviewing all the correct settings to engage alert and braking on the Ram Limited the vehicle under no circumstances will provide an alert or engage braking. In 4 months and 4,000 miles of driving several errant drivers have come within a foot of the truck and several pedestrians have stepped in front of our path. It will not alert to any issues. I opened a case with Stelantis and they have the nerve to say you can call after a wreck and tell us later if it failed. They have no testing allowed and no software to calibrate. Many people on Ram forums even in my home town of San Diego are making this same claim. We have the feature on our older Mercedes and it works very nicely and is something we paid a great deal extra for. Stelantis is hiding behind a known issue and both dealers that have tried to diagnose it were told to send the truck home as is. This feature saves lives it's a priority feature. Just today after leaving the dealer 60 miles from our house a car changed 4 lanes in front and I had to slam on the brakes. No intervention from the truck happened.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and parked on the side of the roadway. The contact later restarted the vehicle, and the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light was no longer illuminated. The contact stated that while driving to his destination, the Forward Collision Avoidance feature failed to alert him of another vehicle in front. The brake pedal was depressed to stop the vehicle immediately. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and two other dealers, Whitten Brothers Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Richmond (10701 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23235) and Farrish Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031); however, all three dealers were unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to Farrish Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (9610 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031) for a third diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
In traffic in a parking lot pulling into driveways slow speeds times it just would t stop and lunges forward about 5ft not safe took it to dealership service 2 times they can’t find the problem because there saying there’s no check engine lights on to find the problem I have just around 20k miles 2022 ram this is a safety issue I did read up one person having the same problem got into a accident
Hello. I leased a 2022 Ram 1500 Big Horn V6 "ETorque" on Wednesday Aug. 24th from Planet Dodge in Doral Florida. On the second day (Friday the 26th) I noticed when reversing out of my driveway, the car automatically stalled and engaged the emergency brakes, on the screen it displayed "Auto Park Disabled," since I had just gotten the truck and not used to it's new features, I thought it was something I accidentally touched or pushed. I had to turn off the truck and restart it. Now on Wednesday August 31st, while getting to a stop light (speed around 15-20 mph) the car automatically stalled and engaged the emergency brakes again and the display read "Auto Park Disabled." Now I'm on a busy street, I had to turn off the truck and re-start it. I was very perplexed and alarmed at the same time because I was about to get on the expressway to head home. I instantly called my sales rep and told him the issues, he asked if the car displayed any codes. I told him no, just "Auto Park Disabled"... he said he's "never' heard of this problem before and if it were to happen again to bring it in, I didn't hesitate I made an appointment to have the truck seen ASAP. I drive my kids to and from school and to after school activities. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE in this vehicle. I've read on other online forums that this type of Ram Engine "Etorque" has been given many drivers problems, some have had their vehicles stall in the expressway. I find it disingenuous that Dodge/Ram has not taken care of this issue sooner or set out to recall these unsafe vehicles with the "Etorque" engine. My kids are not allowed to ride in my truck until this issue is fixed. If it persists...I will enforce my Lemon Law rights in the State of Florida to have the manufacturer take back the truck.
I was at a complete stop awaiting a draw bridge to lower. I put my vehicle in park. When the cars In front of me started to move I put my foot on the brake and turned the knob to drive. My vehicle immediately accelerated out of control. I immediately pressed both feet on the brake as hard as I could and the vehicle kept moving. I hit a guy on a motorcycle and swerved left as hard as I could. I traveled another 150-200 feet and was quickly approaching a gate at a local factory when my vehicle stopped three feet in front of the gate. I thought I killed the guy on the motorcycle- luckily he was ok. The witness behind me described the incident exactly as I did too. I contacted Daimler Chrysler and opened up a case with them. Seems like the gas pedal was pressing itself and I could over power it.
I was backing out of my driveway and the rear view camera and rear sensors didn’t work. Due to vehicle in the road’s location and my mirrors view I could not see vehicle behind me and ran into the vehicle.
Car has been at dealer for weeks , they can not fix .
Brake assist does not work properly. Lane assist does not work. Car may stop for no reason or not stop at all. Car looses control under lane assist
