This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

car just locking on its own as you're driving down the road cruise control light blinking on and off randomly had a brake light gets stuck when I got home and got other vehicle the other night it took you forever to get that off but I have received takata airbag recall notice do not drive and no one can be in the passenger seat also definitely progressed as time went on these unusual symptoms mostly computerized but have a hard time believing they're not related to the airbag recall yes it's available for inspection that's what I tried to do at not closest authorized dealership but they would not budge really on anything at all wouldn't have towed it then tow back wouldn't come pick it up exchange me a car then I would have means of transportation to pick it back up that makes the most sense but I can drive it is what they're telling me but there can be no passengers in the car they want me to bring it down there bottom line but it's nothing like the complimentary round trip towing or other transportation alternatives are available that is advertised on the do not drive paper I got in the mail and its not worth my time arguing with them I had an appointment scheduled on the 17th at 8:30 but that was me driving it down there maybe getting a loaner vehicle while I was there but there just didn't seem like there was no certainty on that but something's got to be straightened out here I can't have my children riding in this car or my wife she's pregnant and my grandmother has got to get to dialysis this week and here I'm stuck I'm trying to get this dealership to reason with me we never come to an appointment to be rescheduled because they don't want to work with me at all drive down there wait and bring it back is it should I contact another dealership right now I'm driving it sparingly to get groceries in a few things by myself but the more I looked into the situation and the bizarre computer errors any more details you need contact me sorry for the grammar errors
My brake line was extremely rusted and broke while driving. I I discovered this when I got home after I felt a Difference in the brake pedal and the responsiveness which quickly lead to no response at all with the brakes and brake light coming on right before I pulled into my driveway

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD(LUCKILY AT 35 MPH) THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I DOWN SHIFTED AND USED THE EBRAKE AND STOPPED SAFELY AND NOTICED A PUDDLE UNDER THE CAR IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR TIRE. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE HOME SAFELY, AND CHECKING THINGS OUT, I NOTICED THE 4 WAY CONNECTOR (RECALLED UNDER CAMPAIGN# WQK-47) WAS SEVERELY RUSTED AND LOOKS AS THOUGH IT HAD NEVER BEEN ADDRESSED. THEN, WHILE LOOKING UP THE PART, I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT NOT ON MY SPECIFIC YEAR AND MODEL, EVEN THOUGH THE SURROUNDING MODELS AND YEARS WERE RECALLED. PERHAPS THIS WAS OVERLOOKED? OR THE AMOUNT OF UNMODIFIED SURVIVING WRX'S DIDN'T PETICULARLY JUSTIFY A RECALL ON THAT MODEL? EITHER WAY, IT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS IS ALSO AN INCREDIBLY INVOLVED FIX. THE PART ON THE 06-07 IMPREZA WRX IS THE EXACT SAME PART THAT WAS RECALLED ON THE 05-08 OUTBACKS AND LEGACYS. I WILL BE CALLING SUBARU OF AMERICA TODAY AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE ABLE TO HELP ME OUT. BUT YOU GUYS SHOULD HAVE THEM NOTIFY ANY 06-07 WRX OWNERS IN THE RUST BELT THAT THIS MIGHT BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD! FEEL FREE TO CALL ME AT [XXX]FOR ANY FURTHER EXPLANATION! THANKS, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

BRANDON, THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT SUBARU OF SANTA CRUZ, ATTENDED TO MY SERVICE AND REPAIR NEEDS I HAD IN JULY OF 2017, HOWEVER NOT THE AIRBAG RECALL. WHEN I ENTERED THE SERVICE AREA I WENT OVER MY CONCERNS WITH THE VEHICLE AND WHAT SERVICES I NEEDED. I ALSO ASKED BRANDON TO LOOK UP AND TAKE CARE OF THE AIRBAG RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD CHECK THAT OUT FOR ME. I LEFT THE VEHICLE FOR A FEW DAYS AND CAME BACK TO PICK IT UP. I FIGURED AIRBAG RECALLS ARE TOP PRIORITIES AT SUBARU AND THAT EVERYTHING WAS REMEDIED. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER I TOOK A CLOSER LOOK AT THE 5 PAGES OF CRYPTIC PAPERWORK THAT BRANDON HAD HANDED ME AND FOUND NO MENTION OF THE RECALL REPAIR. 16 PEOPLE HAVE DIED AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT AS OF 3/17. I AM COMPLAING THAT THIS OVERSIGHT BY SUBARU OF SANTA CRUZ, HAVING MY VEHICLE IN THEIR POSSESION AND NOT TAKING CARE OF THE SAFETY ISSUE IS UNACCEPTABLE.
