I HAVE INFORMED TOYOTA ON THEIR WEB SITE THAT I HAVE HAD ISSUED WITH MY BRAKE FROM THE MOMENT I BOUGHT THE CAR. I WENT TO THE DEALER THAT SAY NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT I HAVE CHANGED MY BRAKES AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. NOW FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER HAS GONE BAD. REALLY? DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE CAR CRASHES TO GET ATTENTION? *TR
IN EARLY 2014 OUR 2007 CAMRY 4-CYLINDER WAS GETTING A GENERAL LOOK OVER. IT WAS DISCOVERED THERE WAS BARELY ANY OIL TOUCHING THE TIP OF THE DIP STICK. WE IMMEDIATELY HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. I THEN STATED TO HIM THAT THE DIP STICK WAS SHOWING A TINY AMOUNT OF OIL ON THE TIP OF THE STICK AND THAT IT SURELY HAD NO OIL. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT WHEN IT WAS DRAINED IT DID HAVE SOME OIL REMAINING. IT ALMOST SEEMS THAT THE DIPSTICK DOES NOT PROPERLY MEASURE THE OIL. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE MATTER AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A GROWING ISSUE INVOLVING OIL CONSUMPTION ON THESE ENGINES ACROSS NUMEROUS MODELS. IT ALSO SEEMS BIZARRE THAT THEY STATE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL WHAT TOYOTA CONSIDERS NORMAL ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION: 1 QUART PER 1,200 MILES. IF THE CAR ONLY HOLDS SLIGHTLY OVER 4 LITERS AND THE SERVICE INTERVALS ARE 5,000 MILES IT SEEMS PRETTY OFF THAT THEY WOULD CALL THAT NORMAL. SINCE THE DISCOVERY OF THE OIL USAGE WE'VE KEPT A CLOSE EYE ON IT AND ARE ADDING OIL EVERY 1500 MILES. RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A LIGHT BLUE TINT TO THE EXHAUST WHEN THE CAR STARTS AND WHEN I DRIVE BEHIND IT GOING UP A HILL. ISSUING A RECALL WOULD CERTAINLY NOT HELP TOYOTAS RECENT RECALL HISTORY AND IT WOULD BE A EXPENSIVE THING TO FIX ON SO MANY EFFECTED VEHICLES BUT AT THIS POINT TOYOTA NEEDS TO BE TOLD TO RECALL THEM. THEY NEED TO ACT WITH INTEGRITY. *TR
THE TOYOTA CAMRY XLE CONSUMES A LOT OF OIL OVER A 1000 MILES DISTANCE. MORE THAN A QUART. I HAVE SEEN MANY POSTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS BEING A PROBLEM. TOYOTA POSTED A BULLETIN IN 2011, BUT THAT IS THEM TRYING TO CALL MAJOR OIL CONSUMPTION BY THE ENGINE 'NORMAL'. THIS IS CAUSING A PROBLEM FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND FOR DRIVERS, AS THEY CAN BE ON THE HIGHWAY OR STREETS AND HAVE THEIR ENGINE GO OUT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR WHEN A "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" FLASHED ACROSS MY DASHBOARD. I SUDDENLY HAD A VERY HARD TIME GETTING THE CAR TO BRAKE. THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS THE ABS ACTUATOR, AND IT COST ROUGHLY $2975.00 TO REPLACE. I WAS ALARMED THAT ANYTHING INVOLVING THE ABS SYSTEM WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT DURING THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS DEEPLY CONCERNED TO SEE THAT THERE WERE ABOUT 30,000 OTHER COMPLAINTS FOR MY SAME MAKE AND MODEL. I BELIEVE THIS PART SHOULD BE INSPECTED FOR A POSSIBLE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD RIDE ROUGHLY AND SHAKE WHEN TRAVELING AT ANY SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A WHEEL ALIGNMENT NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED. THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS COMPLETED AND THE CONTACT WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THE ROTORS WERE RUSTED AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE MOST RECENTLY REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. UPDATED 08/14/14*LJ
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE, ABOUT 80% OF MY BRAKES GAVE OUT AND I LOST STABILITY. MY ABS INDICATOR AND THE MESSAGE "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" CAME ON. AS I CAME TO A STOP, MY BRAKES JERKED A BIT AND I CAME TO A SUDDEN AND AGGRESSIVE STOP. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT, AND EVERYTHING DROVE FINE. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED SPORADICALLY ABOUT 20 TIMES OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, BUT NOW MY ABS LIGHT AND CHECK VSC INDICATOR ARE ON AT ALL TIMES. MY BRAKES ARE DIMINISHED MOST OF THE TIME DOWN TO 50%, AND EVERY NOW AND AGAIN, MY CAR WILL COME TO A REALLY HARD STOP AS I BRAKE. I HAD A TOYOTA DEALER LOOK AT IT, AND I WAS TOLD MY ACTUATOR WAS OUT AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $3,000. THAT IS JUST FOR THE PART, NOT INCLUDING LABOR. I ONLY PAID $15,000 FOR THE CAR. ON TOP OF THAT, THEY AREN'T EVEN USING THE 2007 MODEL ACTUATORS, THEY ARE USING A LATER MODEL, WHICH TELLS ME THEY KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE 2007. *TR
MY DASHBOARD HAS MELTED AND REFLECTS OFF MY WINDOW MAKING IT HARD TO SEE DURING THE DAY. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE YET. IT IS STICKY AND GOOEY AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT VISIBILITY AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS. *TR

SLOWING DOWN EXIT RAMP FROM HIGHWAY..NO BRAKES PEDAL TO THE FLOOR HAD TO DOWNSHIFT AND USE PARKING BRAKE TO STOP..DASHBOARD LIGHTS BRAKE LIGHT LIT..THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND DEALER SAYS TO REPLACE NITROGEN BOOSTER FOR $2500 BUT IT HAPPEN WHEN THE WEATHER IS LESS THAN 45 DEGREES TWICE IN FLORIDA ONCE IN PA. *TR
MY MECHANIC SHOWED ME ALL 4 STRUTS(F&R) ARE LEAKING TOO MUCH AND THAT THEY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I CALLED MANHATTAN BEACH TOYOTA AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL OR WARRANTY & IT WILL COST OVER $1400.00 TO REPLACE. IT TOOK THE MECHANIC OVER HOURS TO COMPLETE REPLACING ALL 4 STRUTS. I AM REALLY SHOCKED BY THIS FINDING, IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED, AND TOYOTA SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. *TR

CHECK VSC LIGHT WITH INTERMITTENT LOSS OF BRAKING. TOYOTA SAYS NEEDS NEW ABS ACTUATOR AT OVER $2500. *TR
WHILE DRIVING OR IDLING, BRAKE AND ABS LIGHT GET LIT AND SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING, ODOMETER IS JUMPING UP AND DOWN AND HEAT NEEDLE IS INTERMITTENTLY GOING NORMAL/COLD. THE MILEAGE METER IS NOT WORKING AND THIS ALL GOES AWAY WHEN THOSE LIGHTS EITHER RESET ON THEIR OWN OR SOME OTHER WAY NOT KNOWN TO ME HOW. WHILE DRIVING NOT KNOWING HOW FAST IS VEHICLE GOING ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND TOYOTA IS NOT DOING WHAT THEY SHOULD DO AND ANNOUNCE RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAVE PROBLEM WITH THE SAME. I TOOK CAR TO THE TOYOTA GROSSINGER DEALER IN LINCOLNWOOD IL AND FIRST TIME AFTER OVER 4 HOURS THERE THEY SAID ITS ONLY BATTERY AND POSITIVE TERMINAL. AFTER EXTENSIVE COMPLAINING AND FILING THE SURVEY THEY DECIDED TO GIVE ANOTHER TRY AND CHECK AGAIN, THIS TIME TOOK OVER 4 HOURS TO FIND OUT BUT THEY DID FOUND THAT ABS ACTUATOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT AND THAT WOULD BE WELL OVER $4000 WHICH IS ABSURD BECAUSE THIS PART BREAKS DUE TO EXTREME WINTER TEMPERATURES OF -10F AND BELOW. KNOWN FACT THAT IN CHICAGO WE HAD VERY HARD WINTER THIS YEAR, IF NOT ONE OF THE STRONGEST SINCE WE BROKE SEVERAL RECORDS IN TEMPERATURE AND WIND CHILLS AND AMOUNT OF SNOW FALLEN TO THE GROUND, WITH NUMBER OF POLAR VORTEX WEATHER THAT WE COULDN'T CONTROL. NOW WE ARE LEFT WITH FAULTY PART THAT LEAVES US DRIVING LIKE THAT BECAUSE ITS NOT EASY AND VERY POSSIBLE TO PAY THE SUM OF MONEY LIKE $4000 FOR ONE PART FOR A CAR THAT ALREADY I PAID ALMOST $30,000. I WISH THAT YOU GUYS GIVE THE PUSH TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT CAUSES CASUALTIES ALL OVER COUNTRY LIKE OTHER SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH TOYOTA CAMRY'S HAPPENED IN THE PAST. *TR
I OWN A TOYOTA CAMRY LE 2007. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES. WHILE IN MOTION, THEY WILL CEASE TO INDICATE PROPER READINGS AND DROP TO ZERO. AT THE SAME TIME, THE ABS AND PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS TURNS ON AND STAY FOR A DURATION OF 10 TO 30 MINUTES. ALSO THE A/C GOES OFF WHEN THESE TWO LIGHTS TURN ON. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON 1/27/14 MY BRAKE, ABS, CHECK VSC AND RED WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON. IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BRAKE. I HAD TO PULL OFF AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND HOPE THE ISSUE WOULD RESOLVE IT. AFTER A FEW TIMES IT FINALLY DID. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER IN THE PAST AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS MY ABS ACTUATOR HAVING A LEAK AND IT WAS REPLACED. THERE STILL APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY WHEN BRAKING AT ANY POINT IN TIME, THERE IS A STUTTER WHEN UNDER 5 MPH, WHICH I WAS TOLD WAS DUE TO THIS SAME ISSUE WHICH STILL HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED. *TR
I FILLED UP WITH GAS. WHEN I STARTED UP, MY RIGHT FRONT BRAKE WAS LOCKED ON. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ABS CONTROL UNIT. COST FOR THE PART $2525.56. I THANK HEAVEN IT DID NOT HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND NOTICED THE BRAKES DID NOT FEEL RIGHT. IT WAS MUCH HARDER TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THAN NORMAL APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. WHEN STOPPED, THERE WAS A STRANGE PULSING SENSATION COMING FROM THE PEDAL. I KEPT DRIVING AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUED, BUT SEEMED TO GET WORSE AS I DROVE MORE. AT ONE POINT, THERE WERE LIGHTS AND WARNINGS GOING OFF, SO I EVENTUALLY PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND LET THE CAR SITE FOR A WHILE. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON A FEW TIMES, EVERYTHING APPEARED TO BE BACK IN WORKING ORDER. HOWEVER, SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT, THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED A FEW MORE TIMES. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE; IT WILL DEFINITELY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE UNLESS SOMETHING IS FIXED. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE BRAKE ACTUATOR - AND IT WILL COST $2K-$3K!!! I WAS TOLD BY A SERVICE TECH THAT THEY SEE THIS ISSUE ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS A NEW PART THAT REPLACES THE ORIGINAL ONE - WITH A DIFFERENT PART NUMBER... SO OBVIOUSLY TOYOTA KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ORIGINAL PART. WITH SUCH AN IMPORTANT PIECE OF THE CAR (BRAKES), THEY SHOULD STEP UP AND MAKE IT RIGHT. I'M PRETTY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA FOR THIS SITUATION AND DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR WITH ME OR MY FAMILY. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON STREET THAT HAD SEVERAL POTHOLES IN BOTH LANES. LANES WERE BLOCKED BY BARRELS BECAUSE OF THE ROADWORK BEING DONE. THERE WERE TOO MANY POTHOLES TO DODGE AND NONE SEEMED SIGNIFICANTLY BIGGER THAN THE REST. SINCE I WAS UNABLE TO SWERVE, BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC GOING THE OTHER WAY IN THE LANE BESIDE ME, I HIT A SERIES OF POTHOLES. AFTER THE LAST ONE, WHICH SEEMED A LITTLE BIGGER THAN THE OTHERS, I HEARD A BEEP AND THE DISPLAY READ, "CHECK VSC," WHICH I KNOW FROM THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED MEANS "VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL." THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT SEEMED TO COME ON AT THAT TIME. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO ROLL ANY BUT INSTEAD HAD TO HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO MOVE AT ALL. THE BRAKE WAS NOT AS POWERFUL, SO I HAD TO BE SURE TO BRAKE IN PLENTY OF TIME. THE STEERING SEEMED MORE RESTRICTED ALSO, AND THERE WAS A HIGH-PITCHED BUZZING THAT CONTINUED ALL THE TIME UNLESS THE CAR WAS OFF WITH ALL DOORS SHUT. I LIVE CLOSE BY, SO I WAS ABLE TO GET MY CAR BACK HOME BUT DID NOT THINK IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD AAA TOW IT A FEW DAYS LATER. THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT A PART OF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THEY LATER FOUND THAT ONE OF THE LINES INVOLVED IN KEEPING THE ENGINE COOL WAS LEAKING AND THE WATER PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE TRAVELING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS BUT THE STOPPING DISTANCE INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,631. UPDATED 03/11/14*LJ TOYOTA RECOMMENDED THE ABS ACTUATOR BE REPLACED. UPDATED 03/13/14
WHILE DRIVING TO A STOP ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, CAR WAS NORMAL. AS SOON AS THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED, MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH LIT UP, INCLUDING A MESSAGE STATING SOMETHING ABOUT A VSC SYSTEM PROBLEM. THE BRAKES SEEMED TO FAIL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRED AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP AND NARROWLY AVOID AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH HAD RIGHT OF WAY AT THE INTERSECTION. HAD THE BRAKES NOT BEEN APPLIED WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE, I BELIEVE THE CAR WOULD HAVE ENTERED THE INTERSECTION AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS MY THEN 4 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH US. PLEASE CONDUCT A THOROUGH AND UNBIASED INVESTIGATION INTO THIS MATTER. THE DEALERSHIP IS ASKING $3300 TO FIX THIS ISSUE, THIS TOTALLY NEGATES ANY FUEL SAVINGS THE HYBRID FUNCTIONALITY HAS OFFERED. *JS
CURRENTLY, I OWN TWO TOYOTAS AND IN THE PAST WAS A LOYAL CUSTOMER. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2007 CAMRY IN JANUARY AND SUDDENLY MY SUN VISOR DROPPED DOWN TEMPORARILY BLINDING ME. I TRIED TO GET IT TO GO BACK UP, BUT IT KEPT DROPPING DOWN WHILE I WAS IN TRAFFIC. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH ONE HAND HOLDING THE VISOR AND THE OTHER ON THE STEERING WHEEL. CLEARLY, AS THIS WAS A MASS PRODUCED VEHICLE, I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE. SO, I CALLED THE NEW TOYOTA OF CLERMONT DEALERSHIP JUST A FEW BLOCKS FROM MY HOME. I ASKED FOR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY ASKED FOR MY VIN NUMBER AND THEN INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS, BUT NOTHING THAT COVERED THE BROKEN VISOR. I WAS VERY SURPRISED AS THE VISOR WAS FAR MORE DANGEROUS THAN EITHER OF THE OTHER ISSUES. ON FRIDAY 2/28/14, I FOUND ONLINE THAT THERE WERE A TON OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SUN VISOR AND THAT THERE WAS A "WARRANTY EXTENSION" FOR 2007 CAMRYS. I TOOK MY CAMRY OVER TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED BY DAVID THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I HAD MISSED THE "WARRANTY EXTENSION" BY TWO WEEKS. WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT THEY HAD MISLED ME BY TELLING ME THAT THE VISOR WAS NOT COVERED WEEKS AGO, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE SERVICE RECEPTIONIST WAS NOT TRAINED ON WARRANTY EXTENSIONS, ONLY ON RECALLS. I CALLED THE 800-GOTOYOTA LINE AND RECEIVED NO SUPPORT. FIRST OF ALL TOYOTA SHOULD HAVE MADE THIS A RECALL BECAUSE IT IS DEFINITELY A PASSENGER SAFETY ISSUE. IT LITERALLY RENDERS THE VEHICLE UNDRIVEABLE. THEY USED DECEPTION IN MAKING IT A WARRANTY EXTENSION. IS THIS HOW THEY MAINTAIN A HIGH RATING FOR QUALITY. IS THIS HOW THE LIMIT THE COST OF RECALLS? ON MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DASHBOARD BECAME VERY SHINY AND BECOME VERY STICKY AND HAS SINCE STARTED TO DETERIORATE. THE SHINE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD REFLECTS AND CAUSES A HARSH GLARE WHICH MAKES IT VERY HARD TO SEE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. ALSO, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR IS NOT WORKING, IT REMAINS OFF NO MATTER WHAT. NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE DASHBOARD MELTING BUT I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE. *TR
THE CHECK VSC LIGHT CAME ON IN DECEMBER. THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ON 1/21/14. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE BRAKE ACCUMULATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND COULD RESULT IN A FAILURE OF THE ABS. IT WAS REPLACED AT A COST OF MORE THAN $3000. I AM A CAREFUL DRIVER AND HAVE NEVER HAD THE ABS ENGAGE ON THIS CAR, SO SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WHEN SUCH A KEY (AND EXPENSIVE) PART FAILS. THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
THE BRAKE ACCUMULATOR CYCLES CONTINUOUSLY AND PULSES WHEN DEPRESSED MAKING A DISTINCT HOWLING NOISE EVEN WHEN STOPPED. APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO THE "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" WARNING CAME ON IN OUR 2007 CAMRY HYBRID. WE NOTICED NO AFFECT TO THE DRIVING OF THE CAR, AND SINCE THE OWNERS MANUAL SAID ALMOST NOTHING ABOUT THIS WARNING (SIMPLY SAID TO TAKE IT TO DEALER), WE DROVE THE CAR AS USUAL. WE THEN HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE, APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK AT FIRST: I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES 3+ TIMES IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM ENGAGE. WE THEN TOOK IT TO A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSIS. AFTER SPENDING $116 ON A DIAGNOSTIC (ONLY WAY THEY WOULD TELL US THE ROOT CAUSE) WE LEARNED THAT THERE IS AN ACTUATOR FAILURE WHICH HAS A REPAIR COST OF OVER $3000. UPON RECEIVING THIS INFORMATION WE INVESTIGATED THE VSC ISSUE ONLINE AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR CAMRY HYBRIDS. OUR CAMRY IS A LITTLE OVER 5 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 57,950 MILES. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT WE SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THIS VERY EXPENSIVE PART ON A CAR WITH THIS FEW MILES. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING FROM WORK AS SHE WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT SHE HIT THE BRAKES TO STOP. TO HER SURPRISE ALMOST ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD CAME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY. I GUESS THEY CHANGE SOMETHING ON ABS PUMPS ON THE 2009 AND NEWER VEHICLES THAT'S WHY THEY DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I JUST HOPE THE NHTSA LOOKS INTO THIS DEFECT PART BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR KILL.
