TOYOTA REPLACED THE FLOOR MAT HOOKS IN MY 2007 CAMRY ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. NEW HOOKS CONTINUE TO PULL OUT FROM THE FLOOR EVERY DAY AND THE FLOOR MAT SLIDES UNDER THE GAS PEDAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 25 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT. THERE WAS AN UNUSUAL INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS AND THE ENGINE BECAME EXTREMELY LOUD. THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED UP TO SPEEDS OF 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT AS WELL AS THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE SUSTAINED INJURIES. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS PLACE OF RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED APPROXIMATELY FIVE DAYS BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURRED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS 09V388000 AND 10V017000: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 25,300.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A TORQUE SHUDDER IN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S DISTRICT MANAGER WHO WENT OUT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURES WERE A DIRECT RESULT OF THE SOFTWARE UPDATE ASSOCIATED WITH RECALL 09V388000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL). THE MANAGER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,500. I WENT TO "CHAMPION TOYOTA HOUSTON, TX 77034" FOR RECALL PROBLEM ON MARCH 19TH. THE SERVICE ADVISOR NAMED JACY BLAIR SIGNED ME ON AND GAVE ME AN APPOINMENT FOR NEXT DAY MORNING( 9:00 AM I GUESS). WHILE I WAS THERE, I FEEL LIKE CHECKING MY BREAKS TOO SO I ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR ABOUT THAT AND SHE CALLED HER TECHNICIAN. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED ME TO FIX MY BREAKS RIGHT AWAY BECAUSE ITS SEFTY PROBLEM AND ADVISE ME TO LEAVE MY CAR THERE FOR THAT DAY COS THEY HAVE TO FIX "RECALL THING" TOO. I AGGRED AND REMIND HIM NOT TO FORGET ABOUT " RECALL THING" AGAIN BEFORE I LEFT. NEXT DAY THEY CALLED ME AND LEFT A MASSAGE IN MY PHONE THAT MY CAR IS READY . I WENT THERE AND PAID $ 480.00 FOR FIXING THE BREAKS AND DROVE BACK HOME. WHEN I LOOK AT THE INVOICE AT HOME I DIDN'T SEE ANY THING WRITTEN ABOUT " RECALL THING" SO I CALLED THEM BACK AND TALKED WITH JACY AGAIN AND FOUND OUT THAT THEY GAVE ME THE CAR WITHOUT FIXING THE "RECALL THING". I WAS BIT OF ANGRY AND I ASKED HER TO PICK MY CAR FROM HOME, FIX IT AND RETURN TO ME. SHE SAID THAT HER SENIOR MANAGER GONNA GIVE ME A CALL WITHIN FIFTEEN MIN. AND HANG UP THE PHONE. I WAITED FOR 1\2 HOUR BUT NO ONE CALLED ME SO I CALLED HER AGAIN AND SHE TRANSFER THE PHONE TO OTHER GUY ( 10 MIN. WIAT) WHO DIDN'T WANT TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND TRANSFER TO ANOTHER GUY ( 20 MIN WAIT ). THE LAST PERSON WAS NICE AND ACCEPTED THE MISTAKE AND AGREED TO PICK UP MY CAR AT HOME NEXT SATURDAY AND FIX IT. HE CALLED ME AGAIN LAST FRIDAY TO VERIFY MY ADDRESS AND TOLD ME SOMEONE WILL BE THERE FROM TOYOTA NEXT MORNING FROM 9 TO 10 AM TO PICK UP MY CAR. I WAITED WHOLE DAY THAT DAY BUT NO ONE CAME OR ANY PHONE CALL. NOW, WHAT SHOULD I DO? GO BACK THERE EVEN AFTER BEING INSULTED TWICE OR DRIVE MY CAR AS IT IS? I FEEL LIKE TOYOTA IS USING THIS " RECALL THING" AS A GROCERY STORE SUNDAY COUPON, WHERE YOU GO FOR SHOPPING TO SAVE LITTLE MONEY BUT END UP SPENDING MORE. IN MY CASE I RETURNED EMPTY HANDED EVEN AFTER SPENDIING MONEY.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. MY CAMRY HAS ACCELERATED ON MANY OCCASIONS, HUNDREDS OF TIME, OFTEN TIMES, DAILY. IT HAS NEVER CAUSED AN OVERRIDE PROBLEM, BUT THE RPMS DO GO UP IMMENSELY. IT IS NOT THE GAS PEDAL, I CAN ASSURE YOU, BECAUSE I KEEP MY FOOT ON THE PEDAL TO SEE IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM. MY BROTHER IN LAW, A CAR MECHANIC GURU ASSURED ME IT WAS THE NEW MOTOR SYNCHRONIZATION, SO I NEVER REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO MY LOCAL DEALER. I HAD A 2005 CAMRY, THIS NEVER HAPPENED TO THAT VEHICLE. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN AN ACCIDENT, BUT ALMOST DAILY, IT DOES ACCELERATE. THESE PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM, IT IS REAL, AS FAR AS TAKING OVER THEIR VEHICLE, COULD BE. *TR
THE ONLY THING I NOTICED BEFORE THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING A MONTH BEFORE AND THAT SAME WEEK I NOTICED MY BRIGHT LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON. THEN ON 3/18/10 MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING. I TURNED ON CAR AS I WAS DRIVING I STARTED TO SMELL SMOKE. I LOOKED DOWN AND SEEN SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SWITCH. BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, PARK AND OPEN MY CAR DOOR PARK FLAMES STARTED COMING OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR PANEL. DUE TO MY VEHICLE WARRANTY BEING EXPIRED THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP MADE ME GO THREW MY INSURANCE COMPANY REFUSING TO EVEN TOUCH THE CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FIRE WAS THE FIRST OF THAT KIND THAT THEY HAVE HEARD OF. I WAS TOLD THE FIRE STARTED BY THE WIRING IN THE DOOR BUT WHAT CAUSED THE WIRING TO CATCH ON FIRE. THEY TOLD ME THAT ALL THE WIRING IN THE DOOR AND THE DOOR PANEL IS BEING REPLACED. AS OF NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS HOLDING THE PARTS UNTIL TOYOTA PRODUCT LIABILITY CLAIMS DEPARTMENT CONTACTS THEM. *TR
HID HEADLIGHT ON PASSENGER SIDE "FLICKERS" ON AND OFF. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR MANY TOYOTA VEHICLES WITH THIS TYPE OF HEADLIGHT, AND COSTS A SIGNIFICANT AMT OF MONEY TO REPAIR/REPLACE. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH SHE ATTEMPTED TO PARK THE VEHICLE, SHE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. SHE THEN ENGAGED THE BRAKE WITH ADDITIONAL FORCE , HOWEVER SHE CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BLOCK. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER.THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE 7,869.
I WAS DRIVING WITH MY WIFE IN OUR 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE AND HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE OIL SUPPLY HOSE AT 60 MPH. NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AT ANY TIME. IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR I SAW A HUGE CLOUD OF SMOKE BEHIND CAR. I PULLED CAR TO THE SIDE OPENED THE HOOD AND FOUND OIL ON THE ENGINE. CALLED TOYOTA AND HAD THE CAR TOWED. THEY TOLD ME ALL THE OIL IN THE ENGINE WAS GONE AND THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ITEM. THEY REPLACED HOSE AND OIL BUT NOW I WONDER IF I HAVE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE. DROVE HOME AND PARKED IT. ON 2/17/2010 I HAD A RECALL VISIT TO THE DEALER ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BUT NO ONE INFORMED ME OF THIS RECALL. ONE WEEK AGO I RECEIVED A LETTERS FROM TOYOTA ON MORE RECALLS (THE OIL HOSE WAS ONE). I TRIED TO GET AN APPOINTMENT BUT THEY WERE BUSY UNTIL APRIL. THIS IS NOT A SMALL LEAK LIKE THEY SAY IN THE NOTICE-WHEN IT GOES YOU THINK YOU HAVE BLOWN AN ENGINE WITH 6.5 QUARTS OF OIL HITTING A THE HOT EXHAUST. I WOULD THINK THERE IS A DISTINCT POSSIBILITY OF FIRE OR LOSS OF CONTROL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT NOTICED HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKING FROM THE SHOCK ABSORBERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE A MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE HYDRAULIC FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON TWO OCCASIONS. WHEN THE PROBLEM WAS DUPLICATED, THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. A PULSATION WAS DETECTED IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. IT APPEARED THAT THE VEHICLE'S ROTORS HAD WARPED. FOLLOWING REPLACEMENT OF THE ROTORS AND THE BRAKE PADS, THE SAME CONDITION WAS OBSERVED AT 45,737 MILES. THIS CONDITION LIKELY INCREASES THE STOPPING DISTANCE OF THE CAR.
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WAS REPAIRED PURSUANT TO LETTERS FROM TOYOTA ABOUT A RECALL. APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK AFTER THE "REPAIR" THE CAR ACCELERATED INTO THE WALL OF A BUSINESS IN ALBANY, GEORGIA. FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS INJURED, BUT THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE BUSINESS AND THE VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING FOR WORK WITH MY TOYOTA CAMRY 2007. WHILE ACCELERATING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY, AROUND THE END OF THE RAMP, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITH NO CONTROLS WORKING FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT EITHER FOR THE STEERING WHEEL OR THE BRAKE. IN A MATTER OF A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE WENT A FEW TIMES IN A ZIG-ZAG MANNER AND SUBSEQUENTLY HIT A SEMI-TRAILER WHICH WAS SOUTHBOUND ON THE HIGHWAY. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY SMASHED IN THE FRONT AND TOTALED LATER. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER MY CAR WENT THROUGH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL REPLACEMENT AS PER RECOMMENDATION OF THE TOYOTA RECALL PROCEDURE. I COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY KILLED IN THIS ACCIDENT. I GOT A TRAFFIC TICKET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE AFTER HAVING A TICKET-FREE DRIVING RECORD FOR THE PAST 11+ YEARS. I AM PLEADING 'NOT GUILTY' FOR THIS TICKET BECAUSE THE DEFECTIVE TOYOTA CAR WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCIDENT AND NOT MY ERROR. *TR

2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. BACK SEATBELTS "LOCK" WHILE DRIVING. MY CHILDREN SIT IN BOOSTER SEAT AND USE SHOULDER BELT. WE WILL BE DRIVING AND THEY WILL LOCK WHERE THEY CAN NOT MOVE. WE HAVE TO UNDO SEATBELT, PULL OUT A LITTLE AND THEN IT WILL RETRACT. THIS HAS HAPPENED FREQUENTLY AND NOT IN RESPONSE TO SUDDEN STOP. 3/14/10 ONE OF THE SEATBELTS IN BACK DID THIS AND IT WILL NOT COME UNLOCKED. THE DEALER IS GOING TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEATBELT BUT IT SEEMS ODD THAT THIS HAPPENS WITH ALL THE BELTS. WE DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT THEY WILL WORK PROPERLY IF THERE WERE AND ACCIDENT. WITH RECENT RECALLS RELATED TO POSSIBLE MECHANICAL AND BRAKE SYSTEM THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE REPORTED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A NEARBY DUMPSTER. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 73,000.
HAD ACCIDENT WITH '07 CAMRY HYBRID. RECALLS DONE 5 DAYS PREVIOUSLY. APPLIED BRAKE TO STOP AT LIGHT. CAR ACCELERATED AND STRUCK CAR IN FRONT OF ME. NO INJURIES TO ANYONE INCLUDING MY 97 YR. OLD FATHER TOW DRIVER SAID RPM'S WERE "WAY UP" WHEN HE DROVE CAR TO PUT IT ON FLATBED. RECALLED INCIDENT OF SIX MONTHS PREVIOUSLY, AFTER ACCIDENT, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AT CORNER BEFORE MAKING LEFT TURN. CAR ACCELERATED AND I SHOT ACROSS STREET FRANTICALLY APPLYING BRAKE AND STOPPED JUST SHORT OF A LINE OF PARKED CARS. THOUGHT LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE INCIDENT AS I BELIEVED, AT THE TIME, THAT I HAD MIXED UP THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS. DRIVING A RENTAL AT PRESENT, CAR IS ON HOLD BEFORE REPAIR SO IT CAN BE INSPECTED BY TOYOTA. THE SUBROGATION DEPT. OF MY INS. COMPANY HAS ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT TOYOTA TO DISCUSS A NUMBER OF CLAIMS BY THEIR CUSTOMERS AND TOYOTA HAS NOT RESPONDED SO FAR. *TR

ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 34,000.
MY CAR IS A 2007 CAMRY XLEV6, AND WAS NOT LISTED AS PART OF THE TOYOTA RECALL (IT HAS LOCKING MATS). PULLED INTO DRIVEWAY AT MY HOME, WITH FOOT ON BRAKES AS I TOUCHED AUTO GARAGE DOOR OPENER ON VISOR. CAR GEAR WAS IN D. AS I REMOVED FOOT FROM BRAKE TO GAS PEDAL TO PULL INTO GARAGE, AND LIGHTLY PLACED FOOT ON ACCELERATOR, INSTANTANEOUSLY ENGINE REVVED, PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR, TACH ZOOMED AND AUTO JETTED INTO GARAGE. I IMMEDIATELY HIT BRAKES WITH BOTH FEET, ATTEMPTING TO DISENGAGE TRANSMISSION FROM D AND PUT INTO N. GEAR SHIFT ERRATICALLY PLUNGED INTO R AND CAR BEGAN TO GO BACKWARDS WITH ENGINE THROTTLE WIDE OPEN. AGAIN, WITH TIRES SQUEALING, SMOKING & LAYING RUBBER, I TRIED TO JAM GEARSHIFT TO N OR P, AND CAR JETTISONED FORWARD HITTING GARAGE WALL AT FULL FORCE. WITH MILLISECOND RECOVERY, I HELD ONTO GEARSHIFT ' ALL THE TIME MY FEET WERE ON BRAKES ' AGAIN TRIED TO FORCE IT INTO P, AND IT AGAIN WENT TO R, (MUST PASS N AND R TO GET GEAR INTO P) THEN AGAIN FORWARD IN ANOTHER DIRECT HIT AGAINST GARAGE WALL, BREAKING THE WALL OPEN AND SPLITTING SHEETROCK AS AUTO NEARLY POPPED THROUGH TO LAUNDRY ROOM AND GAS FURNACE. I HELD THE PUSH-BUTTON IN WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY FORCING GEAR SHIFT AGAIN TO REACH P. ENGINE WENT FROM FULL-BORE OPEN TO A STOP. THIS EVENT WAS SO FRIGHTENING. HAD IT OCCURRED MINUTES EARLIER I WAS IN COMMUTE TRAFFIC AND IN RESIDENTIAL AREA RETURNING HOME FROM METRO. PEDESTRIANS AND SCHOOLKIDS WERE IN THE AREA. I EXITED CAR TO RUN INTO HOUSE, CALL FOR HELP. DAMAGE TO GARAGE WALL (AND LAUNDRY AREA) IS SUBSTANTIAL, BUT WAS MINIMIZED TO THE AUTO DUE TO A SET OF FOUR TIRES AGAINST THE GARAGE WALL WHICH PROVIDED SOME CUSHION. BLUETOOTH PHONE (HANDS-FREE CAR) WOULD NOT DISCONNECT. I BORROWED NEIGHBOR'S PHONE TO CALL HUSBAND AND POLICE/FIRE. EMERGENCY FIRETRUCK TEAM ARRIVED TO ENSURE NO GAS LINE BREAK, FAIRFAX POLICE OFFICER ALSO ON SITE. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS & LONG WAIT TIMES TO TALK WITH TOYOTA, I WAS TOLD NOT TO MOVE CAR, WAIT 10-30 DAYS TO INVESTIGATE. HERE SITS. *TR

THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE OVER A CURB AND CRASH INTO A BRICK BUILDING. THE DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,840 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HID HEADLIGHT TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I CAN TURN IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON, AND IT MIGHT STAY ON FOR 15 SECONDS TO 15 MINUTES. NOW, THE DRIVER SIDE HID HEADLIGHT IS STARTING TO DO IT, TOO. I DIDN'T REALIZE I HAD NO LIGHTS UNTIL I GOT UP ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. *TR
ATTN: DEFECTS INVESTIGATIONS OFFICE. 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH 38721 MILES THAT IS OWNED BY AND USED AS AN UNDERCOVER POLICE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT EXPLANATION ON MARCH 10, 2010. THE OPERATOR, WHO IS A SWORN OFFICER, ADVISES THAT HIS FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE INCREASED IN SPEED AND ENGINE REVOLUTIONS WITHOUT EXPLANATION. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY 4-CYLINDER NON HYBRID VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE REQUIRED RECALLS AND WHILE I WAS IN LINE WITH OTHER CARS TO DROP IT OFF, I NEEDED TO MOVE UP ABOUT 30 FEET. LATER THAT DAY, WHEN THE CONSUMER APPROACHED AT AN INTERSECTION, ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS IN FRONT HIM, BUT SUDDENLY THAT MOTORIST SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES, AS ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS APPROACHING AT FULL SPEED. THE CONSUMER WAS A CAR LENGTH BEHIND THE VEHICLE SO, HE REMOVED HIS FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKE, BUT THE VEHICLE KEPT GOING EVEN THOUGH THE CONSUMER WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE AS HARD AS HE COULD. THE CONSUMER HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE AT ABOUT 5 MPH. THE CONSUMER STATED HE EXPERIENCED ANOTHER INCIDENT O SUDDEN ACCELERATION PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT WHICH HE THOUGH AT FIRST THAT HIS FOOT LEFT THE BRAKE PEDAL. *JB

(VIN [XXX]). CAR WAS PURCHASE AT INNER STATE NISSAN IN TIFTON, GA>.ALL WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WELL. ON 3/01/2010 MY CAMRY ACCELERATED AT A HIGH SPEED WHILE APPROACHING MY HOME AT [XXX] CAUSING ME TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE INTO A DITCH RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE. FOR SOME REASON I WAS NOT ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE TO BACK VEHICLE OUT OF DITCH IN MY DRIVE WAY. BY THE TIRES CONSTANTLY SPINNING AN A HIGH RATE THE ENTIRE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. EVERYTHING IS NOW GONE. I CONTACTED TOYOTA CORP AND WAS ISSUED A CASE NUMBER (REF # [XXX] ). WHAT SHOULD I DO? AT THIS POINT ANY SAFE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION WOULD DO, FOR IT IS MY WIFE THAT IS TERMINALLY AND NEED TO BE BROUGHT HOME UNDER HOSPICE CARE. HOW SHOULD HANDLE THIS? [XXX] *TR
MY 2007 CAMRY HESITATES WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STANDSTILL, AND RPM KEEPS DROPPING FROM 2000 RPM TO 1000 RPM FOR A SECOND AND BACK TO 2000 RPM AS I'M TRYING TO MAINTAIN SPEED. IT COULD MAKE MY CAR TO SLIDE ON ICY ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS ENGINE BRAKING, AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I JUST TOUCH GAS PEDAL AND LET GO RPM DROPS AND GOES BACK TO CRUISING RPM ALL IN 1 SECOND. THIS HAPPENS AS SOON AS I REMOVE MY FOOT OF THE GAS PEDAL, CAUSING LIKE BRAKING FEELING. 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE CONTINUES TO HAVE RUNAWAY UNINTENDED ACCELERATION DESPITE THE VEHICLE UNDERGOING A SERIES OF MODIFICATIONS AT A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN AUBURN, CA. IT HAS HAPPENED PRIOR TO BE FIXED AND HAS HAPPENED ONCE SINCE BEING FIXED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AT A SPEED OF 35 MPH, I ATTEMPTED TO STOP NORMALLY TO SITUATE MY CAR BEHIND A CHEVY TAHOE, WHO WAS WAITING ON A RED LIGHT. DESPITE PRESSING THE BRAKES AND PUMPING THE BRAKE SEVERAL TIMES, I CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD. MIND YOU, I HAVE ALREADY HAD TOYOTA'S RECALL FIXED AT THE ALBANY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN GEORGIA. THE ONLY REASON THAT I DID NOT HIT THE SUV IN FRONT OF ME WAS THAT I RAN OFF THE ROAD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CONTACT TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL AND SUDDENLY CRASHED INTO A MAILBOX. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED FOR THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY CENTER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE WEEKS AFTER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER WAS 10V017000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL) RECALL REMEDY REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED AND THERE WERE NO RESOLUTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
