TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. HE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY APPLYING MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
CAR LOST OIL PRESSURE FROM BROKEN VVTI OIL LINE. OIL WAS ALL OVER ENGINE AND COMPLETELY ALL OVER THE BOTTOM OF CAR, DRIVEWAY AND GARAGE. STARTED SMOKING, NO WARNING LIGHTS WENT ON THE DASHBOARD. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE OIL PIPE WAS BROKE AND REPLACED AS PER TSB EG64-05. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE WAITING AT THE STOP SIGN HER VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT IS AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE FRONT BUMPER AND THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DAMAGED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE MANUFACTURE OR DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS FAILED TWICE INTERNALLY, THE REPLACEMENT COST IS ~$150.00 US, NON- WARRANTY ITEM. IT OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THE VISOR IS REMOVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR FAILED TO FUNCTION PROPERLY AND WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE VISOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
I WAS INFORMED IT WAS TOO LATE TO DEFEND MY CASE ON A TRAFFIC TICKET I GOT IN THE MAIL. THE TICKET WAS FROM ATS AND MIAMI GARDENS POLICE FOR RUNNING A RED LIGHT. I WANTED A HEARING SINCE IT WAS BECAUSE OF A ISSUE WITH THE CAR I WAS DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION BUT I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP . THIS REALLY SCARED ME BUT AFTER CONTINUOUSLY PRESSING THE GAS AND BRAKE THEN IT WOULD RESUME NORMAL FUNCTION. I HAD RENTED A SILVER 2007 OR 2008 TOYOTA CAMRY IN JULY OF THIS YEAR, HOWEVER I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE TICKET MONTHS LATER. I RECEIVED A PICTURE AND VIDEO OF ME ACCELERATING AT A LIGHT WHICH I RECALLED. I WAS UNABLE TO DEFEND MY CASE DUE TO THIS WEIRD NEW CAMERA TRAFFIC LAW STUFF. I FEEL EXTREMELY VIOLATED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. BESIDES IT WAS MY SAFETY AND MYSELF THAT WAS AT RISK. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA SOLARA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE FORWARD NOR DID THE SPEED INCREASE. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN AN IDLE NEUTRAL POSITION. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HER VIN WAS NOT A PART OF ANY RECALLS AND THAT SHE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AFTER THE CONTACT AGREED TO PAY THE FEE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ACCELERATOR WOULD BECOME STUCK WHILE DRIVING. AS SHE PROCEEDED TO STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE FORWARD, UNDER CONTINUOUS FOOT PRESSURE THE PEDAL WOULD GET STUCK AND MOMENTARILY STAYED IN AN IDLED POSITION FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WOULD THEN JUMP FORWARD BACK INTO THE DRIVE POSITION. UPDATED 04/07/10
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED AS SHE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN WITH THE VEHICLE IDLING SHE FELT AS IF THE MOTOR WAS SURGING . AS SHE PUT HER FOOT ON THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP AND SLOW DOWN. THIS FAILURE HAS HAPPEN AT LEAST THREE TIMES. MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE HAD JERK ON ACCELERATION AS WELL AS TURNING. TALKED TO SERVICE MANAGER AND TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A "FEATURE" IN ORDER TO SATISFY THE EPA REQUIREMENT, WHICH THE SIGNAL WAS SENT OT THE COMPUTER, AND TIMING REQUIRED. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND AND BELIEVE THAT, AS I ALSO HAD A 2006 HIGHLANDER HYBRID, WHICH DID NOT DO ME THE SAME INSTANCE. THE JERK MAY CAUSE THE CAR BEHIND REAR-END MY CAMRY. SAFETY ISSUE, CHEAP QUALITY WINDSHIELD USED BY TOYOTA ON 2007 CAMRY LE. I FILED A COMPLAIN WITH TOYOTA FOR WINDSHIELD CRACK WHICH APPEARED ON MY 2007 CAMRY (STILL UNDER WARRANTY) WITH 17K MILES. I TOOK IT TO DEALER AND DEALER SERVICE MANAGER WASHED HIS HANDS SAYING THIS CRACK IS DUE TO SOME PEBBLE/ROCK HITTING THE WINDSHIELD AND THAN HE SHOWED ME TIP OF PIN SIZE MARK WHICH I REALLY STRANGE THAT HOW CAN THAT MARK CAUSE THAT CRACK, ITS CLEARLY SHOWS THAT EITHER TOYOTA HAD ADVISED DEALERS NOT TO COVER ANYTHING IN WARRANTY AS CUSTOMER WILL END UP PAYING FROM HIS POCKET RATHER TOYOTA FIXING IT. I EVEN COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA BUT NO USE, THEY MOVED IT BACK TO DEALER AND DEALER CUSTOMER RELATION LADY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING, EARLIER SERVICE MANAGER HAD GIVEN ME TOYOTA NUMBER TO CONTACT AND SEE IF THEY CAN DO ANYTHING BUT LOOKS LIKE HE KNEW THAT NOTHING WOULD BE DONE AND I WILL JUST WASTE MY TIME. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TOYOTA, FOR SURE I WILL COVEY THE MESSAGE TO OTHERS TOO SO THAT PEOPLE THING AGAIN BEFORE BUYING TOYOTA. BACK IN JULY 2009, COMING TO A STOP ON BOND ROAD AND WATERMAN IN ELK GROVE, CA MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY XLER ACCELERATED AND HIT SUV IN FRONT OF ME. NO INJURY WAS CAUSED, MAJOR DAMAGE TO FRONT END OF MY AUTOMOBILE NO DAMAGE TO SUV. TOOK CAR TO FOLSOM TOYOTA, REPORTED INCIDENT, THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK AT CAR, AT THE TIME WAS NOT ADVISE OF PROBLEMS TOYOTA WAS HAVING WITH ACCELERATOR. WAS TOLD NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR, THEN VSC ALARM WAS COMING ON, THEN THAT BATTERY IN TWO (2) YEAR OLD CAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS THE KEY BATTERY, THEY INSISTED THAT IT WAS THE CAR BATTERY. WHICH I QUESTIONED BECAUSE IT SAID KEY BATTERY. THEN REPLACED THE BATTERY, THE COMPANY WHO SOLD ME THE BATTERY WHEN CAR WAS ONLY TWO YEAS OLD. THEN WHEN WE BROUGHT OLD BATTERY BACK TO THEM AS A CORE. THE GUY QUESTIONED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BATTERY. THE GREEN EYE WAS STILL GREEN AND HE THOUGHT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH BATTERY. THE CAR DIES TWICE LEAVING MYSELF AND DAUGHTER STRANDED AT MY DAUGHTERS DANCE CLASS WHERE I HAVE TO CALL MY FATHER A RETIRED MECHANIC TO COME AND JUMP MY BATTERY. THEN I WENT TO ELK GROVE TOYOTA AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK BATTERY IN KEY THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY IN KEY AND THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. IN SEPTEMBER 2009 I RECEIVED LETTER REQUIRING THAT I TAKE FLOOR MATS OUT OF CAR. BUT STILL THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE ESPECIALLY WHEN PUTTING CRUISE CONTROL. SO NOW WORRIED TO DRIVE CAR. THE FLOOR MAT WERE NEVER THE CAUSE OF ACCELERATION. *TR
1) FRONT HEADLAMPS BURN WEAK AND PLASTIC LENS COVERS YELLOWED OVER TIME, LATTER PROBLEM OF WHICH IS THAT LENSES CAN'T BE CLEANED BY EITHER COMMERCIAL AUTO SOLVENTS OR BY LOCAL MECHANIC, CREATING SAFETY HAZARD FOR DRIVING AT NIGHT. PRICE QUOTED FOR PARTS ALONE VIA TOYOTA IS $818 FOR HEADLAMP SET, PLUS LABOR. I HAVE OWNED 2 OTHER CAMRY MODELS AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUE WITH HEADLAMP OBFUSCATION DUE TO LENS MATERIAL OR BULB COMPOSITION. THIS VEHICLE'S HEADLAMP LENS COMPOSITION IS FILMY TO CLOUDY TO NAKED EYE IN DAYLIGHT, NOT NEARLY CRYSTAL CLEAR AS WHEN NEW.. EVEN IF BULBS WERE REPLACED THE LENS WOULD OBSCURE RADIUS AND LENGTH OF HEADLAMP FOR ANY NIGHT DISTANCE DRIVING OTHER THAN HEAVILY LIT STREETS. MUST USE HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT WHEN POSSIBLE AND WHEN NOT HAZARD TO ONCOMING DRIVERS. EVEN HIGH BEAM DISTANCE DULL. NOTICED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND OTHER CARS ILLUMINATE THEIR OWN PATHWAY FAR BETTER THAN MY OWN. NIGHT TIME DRIVING ON RURAL, SEMI-RURAL, COUNTY, SUBURBAN OR UNLIGHTED STATE AND LOCAL HIGHWAYS IN PARTICULAR ARE A HAZARD. 2) ENGINE HAS REGULARLY BURNED 1 QUART OF OIL ABOUT EVERY 1,000 MILES SINCE CAR HAD CLOCKED 60K MILES. UNDERWENT OIL TEST UNDER EXTENDED RECALL BULLETIN VIA TOYOTA AND IT DEEMED CAR WITHIN SPECS (TIME OF YEAR AND TYPE OF OIL CAN VARY AMOUNT OF OIL BURNED BUT RECOMMENDED 5W20 RESULTS IN 2-3 QUARTS A MONTH BURNED OFF, NO LEAKS, 75% HIGHWAY DRIVING.). BIGGER ISSUE IS OIL CAN GET DANGEROUSLY LOW (AT LEAST QUARTER INCH BELOW DIPSTICK LOW LEVEL) AND NO DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHT COMES ON. OIL LEVELS MUST BE CHECKED MANUALLY AT LEAST WEEKLY AND/OR AT FILL-UP TO ENSURE OIL TANK HAS ENOUGH OIL. GENERALLY HAVE BEEN ADDING 2 TO 3 QUARTS A MONTH. DESPITE TECH BULLETIN RECOMMENDATIONS, TOYOTA SAYS I AM INELIGIBLE FOR MECHANICAL REMEDIATION. CAR CURRENTLY RUNS AND HAS 160K MILES +/- ON IT. DATE BELOW IS APPROXIMATE FOR 60K MILEAGE..
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK I WAS GOING AT A SPEED OF 45 -50 MILES PER HOUR;ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAR LANDED IN A DITCH ON SOME HUGE ROCKS. IT WAS RAINING AT THE TIME OF THE WRECK BUT I NEVER AGREED OR FELT LIKE THE CAR HYDROPLANED. THERE IS KNOW REAL EXPLANATION FOR THE CAR SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL OTHER THAN WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE THE TIRES. NOT SURE IF IT WAS TRACTION,TREAD OR BLOWOUT. THE CAR HAS BEEN DECLARED A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
MY CAR IS CAMRY, 2007. I HAD AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAULT EXPERIENCE ON THE WAY HOME FROM NEW YORK CITY TO BOSTON AT NIGHT ON JULY 05, 2009. MY WIFE AND MY MOTHER IN LAW WERE IN THE CAR. THE CAMRY SUDDENLY LOST OF POWER AFTER I TRIED TO ACCELERATE SPEED BY PRESSING A LITTLE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WE WERE ON UPHILL, NOT STEEP, JUST REGULAR ON I-84, 90 MILES AWAY FROM BOSTON AT THAT MOMENT, THE SPEED WAS 60 MILE/H. THE REASON I TRIED TO ACCELERATE WAS I FOUND MY CAR COULD NOT RUN FASTER THAN 60 MILE/H WHEN IT WENT UPHILLS ON THE TRIP. I SAW THE SPEED SLOWLY DROP FROM 60 TO 34 ON THE TOP OF THE HILLS. THEN I TRIED TO SPEED IT UP EVERY DOWNHILL BEFORE THE NEXT UP UPHILL. FINALLY WE MADE UP GET HOME. THE NEXT DAY, JULY 06, 2009 I BROUGHT MY CAR TO TOYOTA AT WATERTOWN, MA. AFTER INSPECTION, I WAS TOLD MY CAR LOST MEMORY. MY CAR GOT RE-CALIBRATION. NOW CAR IS RUNNING WELL. BUT SINCE THERE WERE MUCH FAILURE REPORT RELATED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FOR TOYOTA CARS, SO I REPORTED THIS FAILURE WITH MY CAR TO YOU AS REFERENCE. SUDDEN FORCEFUL ACCELERATION OF A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID, NOT DUE TO FLOOR MAT OR STICKING GAS PEDAL (VIN NUMBER STARTED WITH A J SO WAS NOT PART OF SUBSEQUENT RECALL FOR GAS PEDAL PROBLEMS), WHILE EASING INTO A HEAD-IN PARKING SPACE. FORCEFULLY HITTING THE BREAK DID NOT SLOW THE VEHICLE AND IT ONLY STOPPED, AND WAS TOTALED, WHEN IT WAS STEERED INTO A CONCRETE LIGHT POLE TO AVOID ENTERING A BUSY STREET. THE ACCELERATION WAS SO FORCEFUL THAT THE CAR HIT AND WENT OVER TWO APPROXIMATELY 8" CONCRETE SIDES ON A PLANTER AND ONLY STOPPED WHEN THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND RIGHT FRONT PORTION OF THE VEHICLE HIT THE CONCRETE LIGHT POLE. THE FORCE WAS SUFFICIENT TO CAUSE THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SEVERE SOFT TISSUE INJURIES TO THE LEFT CHEST THAT TOOK 6 MONTHS TO FULLY HEAL FROM THE RESTRAINT OF THE TRI-POINT SEAT BELT. *TR

WHEN CAR DOES TAKE OFF IT GOES TO FAST AND CAN MAKE A DRIVER LOSE CONTROL. THIS CAR ALSO SHAKES OR VIBRATE WHEN YOU ACCELERATE TO SPEEDS OF 60 TO 65MPH. STEERING IS A PROBLEM WHEN CAR HESITATE THEN TAKES OFF, THIS IS WHEN YOU CAN LOSE CONTROL. PASSING AND CHANGING LANES CAN BE A PROBLEM WHEN ACCELERATION IS NEEDED. THIS CAR CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SPEEDOMETER, I GUESS IT'S THE TRANSMISSION OR WHATEVER PART THAT CONTROLS THE CAR TAKE OFF SPEED. *TR

HE WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL BY RELEASING THE BRAKE AND STEERING OUT OF THE SPIN. BUT, HE OVERCORRECTED AND CROSSED THE HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC AGAIN, AND ALMOST T-BONED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND ENDED UP IN A DITCH IN THE MEDIAN OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CONSUMER STATED HE DID NOT STEER INTO THE SPIN, HE KEPT THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT AND JAMMED ON THE BRAKES IN AN ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY PANIC STOP. I HAD 56335 MILES ON THE VEHICLE SO IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT NOW I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS EVENT OCCURRING AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER 56000 MILES. I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK OFF AND WAITED A FEW SECONDS THEN TRIED AGAIN. THE ENGINE WAS STILL REVVING VERY HIGH. ON THE THIRD OR FOURTH TRY OF THIS CYCLE, THE ENGINE FINALLY STARTED NORMALLY. I WAS THEN ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY AT A NORMAL SPEED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TOYOTA DEALER ON 6/18/09. THEY CHECKED IT WITH A SCAN TOOL AND DID A ROAD TEST BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS A ONE-TIME EVENT AND HAS NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN. ON 6-12-2009 APPROXIMATELY 5PM. I HAD AN INCIDENT WITH MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WE WERE ON VACATION, DRIVING TO SOUTHERN SHORES, NC. STOPPED AT: THE VIRGINIA DINER GOT IN THE CAMRY. TO START THE CAR THAT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE OPTION, SMART KEY, YOU MUST DEPRESS THE FOOT BRAKE AND PUSH THE START BUTTON TO START THE ENGINE. AGAIN, TO PLACE THE CAR IN GEAR, THE FOOT BRAKE MUST BE DEPRESSED. I PLACED THE CAR IN REVERSE AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RACE WITH THE BRAKE BEING PUSH AS HARD AS I COULD, THE CAR COULDN'T BE HELD. IT MOVED BACKWARD. I HIT A PARKED PICKUP TRUCK AND DROVE IT INTO A SUV PARKED NEXT TO IT. THE INCIDENT TOOK ONLY SECONDS. I EXCHANGED INFORMATION WITH THE OWNERS OF THE DAMAGED VEHICLES. WE TOOK OUR CAMRY TO A BRAKE SHOP DUE TO WEAK PERFORMANCE AND LOUD SCREECHING SOUND. AFTER INSPECTION THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE METAL ON METAL AND THE FRONTS WERE NOT EVEN BROKEN IN. ALL THROUGHOUT THE TIME WE ALWAYS HAD ISSUES WITH STOPPING AT A REASONABLE DISTANCE, THE CAR LOSING CONTROL IN WET WEATHER AND THE FEELING OF ALWAYS DRIVING ON ICE. THE BLACK EXTERIOR PAINT PEELED RIGHT OFF THE CAR. BECAUSE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY, I TOOK THE CAR TO DENNISON TOYOTA TO BE REPAIRED. THEIR EMPLOYEE SAID TO BRING THE CAR BACK WHEN THE TOYOTA'S REGIONAL PAINT WARRANTY EXPERT WAS IN TOWN, SO THEY COULD LOOK AT IT. AFTER DOING THIS, I WAS VERY SADDENED TO LEARN THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT REPAIR THE FAULTY PAINT BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN REPAINTED ALREADY AND THEY WOULD ONLY WARRANT, THEIR OWN PAINT. THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN REPAINTED BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT THE NOW VISIBLE PRIMER COLOR WAS NOT THE COLOR THEY USED. THEY SAID THEY USED A BLACK PRIMER BUT THIS WAS A LIGHTER GREY. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH ONLY 22K MILES, SO I KNEW IT HAD NOT BEEN REPAINTED AS THE CARFAX WAS CLEAN, AND THE GREY PRIMER WAS VISIBLE UNDER VARIOUS SCRATCHES IN THE PAINT ON ALL SIDES OF THE CAR. WHY ON EARTH WOULD SOMEONE STRIP AND REPRIME THE ENTIRE CAR? DISGRUNTLED, I EMAILED THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. TODAY, THEY GOT BACK TO ME AND CONFIRMED THE PRIMER COLOR SHOULD BE A LIGHT GREY, NOT BLACK INDICATED BY THE REGIONAL PAINT EXPERT. THEY APOLOGIZED FOR NOT TRAINING THEIR PEOPLE BETTER. SO I CALLED MY DEALER AGAIN AND HE IS STILL VERY SQUIRMY SAYING THAT HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE CAN DO. I TOLD HIM THAT SINCE THE PREMISE OF THE REGIONAL PAINT EXPERTS REFUSAL TO REPAIR THE PAINT WAS FALSE, THE CAR SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY SINCE IT WAS THE MANUFACTURER'S PAINT THAT FAILED BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. ON MAY 19, 2009 I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR END ACCIDENT. THIS OCCURRED DUE TO A FAULTY ACCELERATOR MECHANISM THAT CAUSED UNEXPECTED BURST OF SPEED.THIS WAS THE WAS THE ONLY OCCURRENCE OF THIS PROBLEM. TOYOTA HAD A RECALL AND DID THE REQUIRED REPAIRS. *TR
CAR'S AC BLOWER MOTOR STOPPED WORKING ATR ~ 18 K MILES. THE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM WOULD SOMETIMES NOT WORK WHEN IT WAS TURNED ON. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY A PROBLEM WHEN CAR WAS PARKED IN THE SUN. THE BLOWER WOULD ALSO MAKE A THRUMMING SOUND AND IT TOOK 4 TIMES FOR THE DEALER TO EVEN ADMIT THIS WAS HAPPENING AND IT STILL IS NOT RIGHT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH SHE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING FASTER THAN NORMAL AND WHEN SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF A MOVING VEHICLE, PUSHING IT TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD. HER VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE OUT OF CONTROL ALTHOUGH SHE WAS APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, EVENTUALLY IT STOPPED MOVING. SHE SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST AND CONTINUES TO HAVE PROBLEM WITH HER HEART. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. SHE DOES NOT KNOW IF THE INSURANCE COMPANY INVESTIGATED THE FAILURE, BUT SHE RECENTLY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FLORIDA POLICE REPORT NUMBER WAS 3951FVE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN HEADING SOUTH ON 57, AND SPEEDING UP, MY CAR KEPT ON ACCELERATING AFTER I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. I HAD TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET IN ORDER TO SLOW IT DOWN. IT HAS ONLY OCCURRED ONCE, ON THE DATE BELOW. THE CAR IS GOING TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE DEFECTIVE PART REPLACED. *TR
