WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PETAL THE CAR DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED FROM A STOP. IT IS DELAYED. ANOTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR WENT IT TO NEUTRAL. BUT THE FINAL STRAW WAS WHEN I HAD PARKED ON MY DRIVE WAY(4/25/08) WHICH IS SORT OF A INCLINE I HAD PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND AS A EXTRA SAFETY PRECAUTION I PRESSED MY EMERGENCY BRAKE UPON DOING SO THE CAR MALFUNCTIONED AND SWITCHED GEARS AND ROLLED DOWN MY DRIVEWAY PULLING ME UNDER AS I STEPPED OUT THE CAR AND RUNNING OVER MY FOOT CRUSHING IT. WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAID THERE MUST HAVE BEEN A COMPUTER ERROR WHICH THEY THEN RESET THE SYSTEM. *TR
CONSUMES ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF OIL AT 3000 MILES AT OIL CHANGE. *JS
MY 2007 TOYOTA WITH ONLY 14,000 MILES ON IT IS ALREADY OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND WEARING THE INSIDE OF THE TIRES. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD A DEFECTIVE TIRE BECAUSE OF THE THUMPING NOISE AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT WAS BECAUSE I DID NOT ROTATE THE TIRES. I HAD ROTATED THE TIRES 1 TIME DURING THE 14,000 MILES AND THE REAR TIRE WAS "CUPPING" THE SAME AS THE FRONT TIRE. THIS PROVED THAT THE ALIGNMENT WAS BAD PROBABLY FROM THE FACTORY. I TALKED WITH THE SALESMAN AT THE DEALER AND HE SAID THAT I SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE EVERY 6 MONTHS. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO GET AN ALIGNMENT DONE ON A NEW CAR UNTIL I BOUGHT NEW TIRES. THEY DID NOT OFFER ME ANYTHING EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF I WERE SOMEONE WHO WAS NOT AWARE OF WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY TIRES DUE TO IMPROPER ALIGNMENT FROM THE FACTORY AND THE TIRE WOULD WEAR ON THE INSIDE (AS MINE ARE) WHERE IT IS NOT NOTICEABLE THERE COULD BE BLOWOUT OF THE TIRE RESULTING IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND EVEN DEATH. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TOYOTA ISSUE A RECALL ON ALL 2007 CAMRYS FOR FRONT END ALIGNMENT OR ELSE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE HAD TO GET THEIR VEHICLE ALIGNED (AS I AM ABOUT TO) DUE TO THE FACT THE DEALERS ARE UNWILLING TO WARRANT THIS WORK. I HAVE READ CONSUMER WEB SIGHTS AND THERE ARE A LOT OF THESE CARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE, IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, MAKE TOYOTA ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS FAILURE OF DESIGN. *TR
AFTER TAKING MY CAMRY XLE INTO THE DEALER FOR A "CHECK VSC SYSTEM" WARNING ON THE DASH, AND SOME UNUSUAL SHIFTING AND HESITATION, THEY SAID IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK WITHIN A FEW DAYS AND WORSENED. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY GAVE OUT AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY IMMOBILE, WITH ONLY 30,000 ON THE CAR. DEALER SENT AWAY FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED IT WITH A NOTE THAT IT HAD BEEN SOAKED IN AN UNKNOWN FLUID, AND THEIR COULD BE SOME RESIDUAL LIQUID IN THE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE "CHECK VSC LIGHT" STILL FLICKS ON OCCASIONALLY AT START UP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK. THE VEHICLE THEN ACCELERATED UP TO 75 MPH. HE HAD TO REMOVE THE FLOOR-MAT FROM UNDER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, TO DECELERATE. AFTER THE FAILURE HE REMOVED THE FLOOR-MAT FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,000.
ON 7/31/2007, I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW TOYOTA CAMRY SE FROM KNOXVILLE TOYOTA. ON APRIL 20, 2008, I WAS DRIVING MY TOYOTA CAMRY SE WESTBOUND ON ROUTE 26 JUST WEST OF COLUMBIA, SC, AT A SPEED OF 60MPH. I THEN HIT MY CRUISE CONTROL TO INCREASE THE SPEED TO PASS A VEHICLE, WHEN MY ACCELERATOR STUCK AND MY SPEED WENT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TO 105 MPH. ALL EFFORTS TO UNSTICK MY ACCELERATOR FAILED ME.( I AM A 54 YR OLD RETIRED FBI SPECIAL AGENT WHO HAS OFTEN BEEN IN HIGH SPEED PURSUIT- SO I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE VEHICLES AT HIGH SPEEDS) TRAFFIC WAS RELATIVELY HEAVY, WITH A COUPLE 18 WHEELERS, AND SEVERAL CARS WITH FAMILIES IN FRONT OF ME. I RECALLED THERE BEING A FLYER OF WARNING BY TOYOTA ON RUBBER MATS, SO I REACHED DOWN, YANKED THE RUBBER MAT OFF THE FLOOR AND THREW IT INTO THE BACK SEAT, ALL THE WHILE STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, TRYING TO GET THE CAR NOT TO HIT VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME. FINALLY I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND COASTED THE CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF MY FRONT BRAKES, AND ONCE ON THE RIGHT SIDE MEDIAN, I TURNED THE CAR OFF. LET IT COOL DOWN, THEN GOT BACK ON RT 26. LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES LATER, WHILE PASSING A SLOWER VEHICLE, MY ACCELERATOR STUCK AGAIN, AND THE SPEED GOT TO 95 MPH BEFORE I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AGAIN AND TURNED IT OFF. I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE KNOXVILLE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP 4/21/08 (COMPLAINT OF 4/21/08 WAS DOCUMENTED AT TOYOTA KNOXVILLE, PO BOX 30069, KNOXVILLE TN.)AND THEY PUT IT ON THEIR MACHINE AND SAID "NOTHING WAS WRONG." FOR THE NEXT YEAR, I EXPERIENCED SHIMMING OF MY FRONT TIRES WHEN BRAKING. ON 5/5/09, I PAID OVER $171 TO REPAIR WARPED ROTORS. WHEN THE RE-CALL OCCURRED, I REMINDED THEM OF MY EVENT, WHICH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN AN ELECTRONIC ISSUE INVOLVING MY CRUISE CONTROL ON THE FIRST EVENT. THEY PUT MY CAR IN TO HAVE THEIR "FIX" DONE TO MY ACCELERATOR, HOWEVER I AM NOT CONVINCED IT FIXED MY ISSUE. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT TOYOTA HAS HIDDEN THIS PROBLEM FROM ITS CUSTOMERS, AND I AM NOT CONVINCED THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE THROTTLE DID NOT SEEM TO RESPOND NORMALLY; IT SEEMED TO BE VERY SENSITIVE RESPONDING VIOLENTLY EVEN WITH THE SLIGHTEST TAP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE DRIVER EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM EVERY TIME SHE DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO RECALL 10V017000 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL: ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I BOUGHT A 2007 CAMRY IN JUNE OF 06. THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN KENTUCKY. THE FRONT AND BACK BRAKES HAVE SQUEALED ALMOST FROM THE FIRST DAY AND I STARTED REPORTING THE PROBLEM AT THE FIRST DEALERSHIP SERVICE. BOTH TSB'S HAVE BEEN APPLIED BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. A TECHNICIAN FINALLY HEARD A SQUEAK AND ANTI SQUEAKING LUBRICANT WAS ALSO APPLIED BUT ONLY LASTED A WEEK. LEFT THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP LAST MONDAY NIGHT AND THE DISTRICT PERSON CAME TUESDAY. THE RESPONSE WAS THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE SQUEAL SO COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. OF COURSE THEY SQUEALED TWICE ON THE WAY HOME. I SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND FORTUNATELY THE TSB FIXED THAT PROBLEM. THEN THE BLACK WHEEL RIMS UNDER THE HUB CAPS RUSTED HORRIBLY AND THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO REPLACE THEM UNDER WARRANTY. NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE THESE PROBLEMS WITH A NEW CAR. *TR
STRUTS ARE LEAKING AT 34,000 MILES ON 2007 CAMRY. I WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THERE IS BULLETIN ON LEAKING STRUT. BUT TOYOTA WILL REPLACE IT ONLY IF IT IS LEAKING HEAVILY. THEY DO NOT REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY IF IT LDO NOT LEAKS HEAVILY. THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE. (1) TOYOTA NEW ABOUT STRUT ISSUES BUT NEVER NOTIFIED OWNER. (2) TOYOTA IS UNWILLING TO REPLACE EVEN LEAKY ONES (3) THEY DO NOT PAY FOR ALIGNMENT AFTER STRUT REPLACEMENT. WHICH THEY SHOULD. *TR

I WAS IN MY CAR WAITING FOR THE MAN IN THE VAN TO SHUT HIS DOOR. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. ALL AT ONCE IT TOOK OFF AND I WAS ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE P.O. BUILDING. I HIT THE BUILDING. SMASHED THE FRONT OF THE 2007 CAMRY. I WAS MORE SHAKEN. NOBODY HURT. THE BUILDING NOT DAMAGE. THE SECOND INCIDENT HAPPENED IN NOV. 2009. I HAD JUST MADE A RIGHT TURN AND STARTED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE CAR TOOK OFF. I PUSHED THE DISTRESS BUTTON, BRAKE AND TRIED TO BRING IT TO PARKING, NEUTRAL, DOWNSHIFT TO NO AVAIL. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. VERY SHAKEN, BUT STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. NO DAMAGE THIS TIME. THE FIRST INCIDENT I DID NOT REPORT TO THE DEALER AS PEOPLE WERE TELLING ME THAT IT COULD NOT HAPPEN THE WAY I SAID IT. THE SECOND INCIDENT, I WENT TO GET MY CAR SUPERGLAZE THE LAST WEEK OF NOV. AND I TOLD THEM THAT AT THE TIME. THEY SAID THAT THEY CHECKED IT AND SAW NOTHING. SINCE THEN I HAVE SEEN ARTICLES IN THE NEWSPAPER AND ON THE INTERNET ABOUT ALL THE DAMAGE. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE RUG OUT. THE RUG IS IN ITS HOOKS. I HAD A THIN PLASTIC ON TOP, WHICH NEVER MOVED MORE THAN ONE INCH. IT WAS ONE OF YOUR PLASTIC COVER WITH GRIPPERS. EACH TIME I GOT IN THE CAR, I WOULD MOVE THE PLASTIC TO ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. NEVER WAS MORE THAN ONE INCH. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CAR. I BOUGHT A 1996 TOYOTA TACOMA AND HAD IT FOR 10 YEARS W/O ANY PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE TOYOTA CAMRY LE 4-CYL FOR APPROX. 1 YR NOW AND IT CONSTANTLY HESITATES WHEN I AM DRIVING OR IF I AM AT A STOP AND TRY TO PULL OFF. I EXPERIENCED THE "STICKY PEDAL" IN A ACCIDENT IN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CAR INCREASED SPEED ON A WINDING ROAD. IT SLAMED INTO A WALL. THE CAR WAS TOTAL. I IMMEDIATELY TOLD THE TOYOTA EXPERINCE LINE ABOUT THE MALFUNCTIONING OF THE CAR. I DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM THEM. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH TOYOTA'S RESOLUTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE GAS GOT STUCK ON OUR 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AND THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. WE INFORMED OUR DEALER WHEN WE WENT FOR THE SCHEDULED OIL CHANGE, AND THEY INSURED THAT EVERYTHING WAS OK. NOW, WITH THE NEW TOYOTA DEVELOPMENTS, WE WENT BACK TO A DEALERSHIP TO RECEIVE THE MODIFICATIONS ON MY GAS PEDAL. BUT THEY SAID THAT MY GAS PEDAL MODEL IS ONE THAT DOES NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AND DOES NOT NEED ANY MODIFYING. THEY DID CLAIM TO HAVE SANDED DOWN THE PEDAL TO PREVENT IT FROM GETTING STUCK UNDER THE FLOOR MAT, AND THEY ALSO SAID THAT THEY INSTALLED NEW SOFTWARE THAT WOULD OVERRIDE THE GAS PEDAL WHEN I SLAM ON THE BRAKES IF IT DID EVER GET STUCK AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE FREELY. WHEN WE ASKED FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SOFTWARE, NONE COULD BE PROVIDED. ALSO, WHEN WE SPOKE TO OUR ORIGINAL DEALER, THEY DENIED THAT WE EVER REPORTED THIS INCIDENT. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED FROM HERTZ CORP. DURING THE TEST DRIVE WE NOTICED A HESITATION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 25 AND 45 MPH. WE ALSO DROVE ANOTHER 2007 CAMRY WITH HIGHER MILEAGE AND IT DID NOT HAVE THE HESITATION PROBLEM. WE ASKED HERTZ TO HAVE A TOYOTA DEALER CHECK OUT THE PROBLEM. THE COMPUTER WAS 'FIXED' WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURRED SO IT WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER. EVERYTHING WAS 'OK'. THE STATEMENT WAS MADE BY THAT TOYOTA SERVICE ADVISER THAT THE COMPUTER USES A PROGRAM TO DETERMINE THE DRIVING HABITS OF EACH DRIVER AND THE HESITATION PROBLEM WOULD 'SELF CORRECT'. YEAH RIGHT. WE PURCHASED THE LOWER MILEAGE VEHICLE, AND HAVE DRIVEN ALMOST ANOTHER 5,000 MILES, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM DID NOT 'SELF CORRECT'; IN FACT IT APPEARS TO HAVE WORSENED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TAKEN TO A THIRD TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON MARCH 24, 2008 WITH THE SAME VERBAL FOOTWORK THAT IT'S A DRIVE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM AND NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION. SOME DAY I MAY NEED TO ACCELERATE HARD TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT OR WHATEVER AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE INSTANT ACCELERATION INSTEAD OF A 1-3 SECOND DELAY. CONSIDERING THE HIGH TECH SYSTEMS AVAILABLE TO THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY, I FIND IT UNCONSCIONABLE THAT TOYOTA CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I'VE REVIEWED THE NHTSA COMPLAINTS WEB SITE, EDMONDS, AND OTHER SITES AND FIND THIS PROBLEM IS PERVASIVE WITH OTHER TOYOTA VEHICLES. I'M REQUESTING THAT A DEFECTS INVESTIGATION BE INITIATED TO ANALYZE AND DEVELOP A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THIS THROTTLE/TRANSMISSION HESITATION ISSUE RESULTS IN INJURY OR DEATH. *TR
WE HAVE A SIX CYLINDER, 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WE WERE PASSING A SEMI TRUCK ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY DEMONSTRATED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. APPLYING THE BRAKE AND SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL DID NOT STOP THE ACCELERATION. OUR ONLY RECOURSE WAS TO GET OFF THE INTERSTATE AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO STOP BY TURNING OFF THE KEY. IF THERE HAD BEEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF US THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS, WITH LESS THAN A 1000 MILES, I REALIZED THAT THERE WAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH ACCELERATION; DELAYED ACCELERATIONS WHEN TRYING TO ATTAIN SPEED, WHEN DRIVING AROUND 40 MILES THE CAR PERFORMS LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION THAT REQUIRES SHIFTING DOWN TO A LOWER GEAR TO GAIN SPEED,AND WHEN DRIVING ON AN INCLINE THERE IS A NOTICEABLE DROP IN SPEED. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO DICK DYER TOYOTA, THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. ON OR ABOUT THE THIRD VISIT I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED A COMPUTER UPDATE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE UPDATE THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. I CONTINUED TO COMPLAIN. TO SUMMARIZE THE ORDEAL, I COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA'S NATIONAL CENTER FOR DISPUTE SETTLEMENT. THE MATTER WENT INTO ARBITRATION. IN THE HEARING I HAD ONE OTHER PERSON, AND THE NAME OF FIVE (5) OTHER PEOPLE WHO OWNED 2007TOYOTA CAMRY WHO WERE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS. WILLIAMS SAID THE CARS COULD NOT BE COMPARED, THAT THE CAR IS PERFORMING THE WAY IT S SUPPOSE TO, AND THAT IT IS JUST ENGINEERED DIFFERENT. THE OUTCOME FROM THE ARBITRATION SIDE WITH MS. WILLIAMS/ TOYOTA, SAYING THAT THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATIONS; THAT THERE IS NO DEFECT BUT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL. I AM VERY DISCOURAGED AND DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY PRICE FOR POOR ENGINEERING. ALL I WANTED WAS A NEW CAR. NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED IN MY AUTOMOBILE SO FAR. DURING DRIVING OR IN A STOP LIGHT THE WARNING LIGHTS OF VCS SYSTEM LIGHTS UP WITHOUT ANY REASON AND THEN WENT TO NORMAL. MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HESITATES WHEN YOU FIRST PRESS ON THE GAS. IT HAS HAPPENED AS LONG AS 3 SECONDS. FROM A STOPPED POSITION, PULLING OUT ON TO A HWY. AT LATEST REPAIR (MARCH 2008), DEALER MECHANIC STATED THAT THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN ON THEM FOR FAILURE. DRIVING MY NEW TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID ANNIVERSARY MODEL - AS I ENTERED A LOCAL SHOPPING AREA MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND I COULDN'T STOP IT. I EXPLAINED I HAD LOOKED DOWN TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS STUCK ONCE I HAD THE VEHICLE SAFELY STOPPED AND COULD SEE NOTHING INTERFERING WITH THE PEDAL! THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE BASING THIS ASSUMPTION ON THE FACT THAT THERE WAS AN OUTLINE FOR MY CAR MAT NEAR THE GAS PEDAL. I TOLD THEM, ADAMANTLY, THAT I DIDN'T CARE WHERE THE OUTLINE WAS, THAT I HAD VISUALLY INSPECTED IT AND THAT NOTHING WAS STUCK! THEY INFORMED ME THAT, THAT WAS THEIR POSITION ON THE MATTER AND BASICALLY THE EXPLANATION THEY WERE STICKING TO. I DON'T FEEL THIS CAR IS SAFE! I HAVE LOST MY CONFIDENCE IN TOYOTA AND SERIOUSLY DOUBT I WILL EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IN MARCH 2006. THIS NEW VEHICLE HAD SEVERAL DEFECTS INCLUDING THE REPLACEMENT OF A DASH BY THE DEALER AFTER DELIVERY. THE QUALITY OF THE BRAKE ROTORS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE UNSATISFACTORY. I HAVE HAD THE ROTORS REPLACED FIVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROX. 46,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD TWO INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS EVALUATE THE FACTORY ROTORS AND THEY BOTH COME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION, POOR QUALITY ROTORS. IT'S NOT HOW THE VEHICLE IS BEING OPERATED SINCE WE ARE NOT CAUSING ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THESE ROTORS TO WARP THE WAY THEY DO. WE DO NOT DRIVE OUR VEHICLES HARD, JUST TO CAUSE MORE MAINTENANCE EXPENSES. TOYOTA HAS PAID FOR REPLACING THE ROTORS ONCE. THEY HAVE ALSO CHARGED ME TWICE FOR THE SAME WORK AND I HAVE PAID TWICE TO ANOTHER AUTO SHOP. I TRIED TO FILE A COMPLAINT THROUGH TOYOTA AND THAT WAS USELESS. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A TOYOTA VEHICLE AGAIN. REAL SAD HOW THEY WERE HANDLING MY COMPLAINT. *TR
WHILE CAR WAS IN FOR ROUTINE 25K SERVICE, DEALER ADVISED I NEEDED REAR BRAKE PADS. HAVE SINCE BEEN ADVISED BY TWO MECHANICS THAT INDICATES THERE'S A PROBLEM. DEALER HAS SINCE ADVISED A TSB WAS ISSUED FOR THIS YEAR/MODEL VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE WHICH HAS 67000 MILES. ALL MY FRONT AND REAR STRUCK IS GONE AND LIKING. PRIME TOYOTA DEALER REFUSE TO FIX THIS KIND PROBLEM. LOST POWER STEERING COULD NOT COULD NOT TURN STEERING WHEEL. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER. THEY REPLACED RACK AND PINION COST WAS 1949.27 BUT WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. MY DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, THEY WERE LUCKY THAT WERE ABLE TO SLOWLY PULL OVER AND THEY WERE GOING SLOW UNDER 30 MPH. *TR
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 CAMRY SEDAN LE I AM FEELING AND HEARING VIBRATION AND NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE SEAT THIS HAS BEEN BACK AND FORTH TO DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED TO TOYOTA MOTOR SALES, THE DEALER AND MOTOR SALES TOLD ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL WITH THESE TYPES OF CARS. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE I HAVE RESEARCHED ON CONSUMER REPORTS AND FOUND ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I NEED THIS RESOLVED AND NEED TO KNOW IF IT THE TRANSMISSION SHOULDN'T THIS BE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY? I KNOW TOYOTA DOES NOT WANT TO HEAR THIS COMPLAINT AS IT WOULD INTERFERE IN THERE GREAT REPORT ON HOW THEY ARE A GREAT GAS SAVING CAR, BUT WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO HAVE THIS RESOLVED HOPEFULLY NOT A FATALITY. *TR
TOYOTA HAS A REPAIR FOR THE HESITATION PROBLEM IN THE 2007 CAMRY I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MINE WAS REPAIRED BY MY DEALER AND IT ONLY TOOK 30-45 MINUTES I THREATENED WITH LAWSUITS TO TOYOTA AND MY DEALER TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM SO IF YOUR DEALER TELLS YOU THAT THE DRIVE BY WIRE IS MADE TO HESITATE ETC. THEY ARE FEEDING YOU A LINE . *TR
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH SAFETY DOOR LOCK CONCERNS. CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF ALL DOORS UNLOCK OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF ALL THE DOORS STAY LOCKED UNTIL YOU OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR. SHE FEELS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *KB
