AFTER SLOWING TO MAKE A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, THE ACCELERATOR "STICKS" PREVENTING/SLOWING ACCELERATION IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE TURN OUT OF THE INTERSECTION AND CLEAR OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. JUDGING FROM INTERNET SITES THROUGH GOOGLE, THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS (MINE INCLUDED) ARE AWARE OF, BUT DO NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. *TR
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE, 4 CYL, 5-SPD AUTOMATIC TRANS=THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED; MINE STUMBLES, HESITATES, SHIFTS TOO SOON OR NOT AT ALL, ACTS LIKE IT WILL STALL, CLUNKS/SNAPS/SHUTTERS WHEN SHIFTING FROM/TO PARK/REVERSE/DRIVE. THESE CARS(MINE INCLUDED) ARE PUTTING PEOPLE IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. MY DEALER (TWICE) TRIED TO "REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE" BUT THE CAR STILL ACTS UP!!! DASHBOARD MELTS, GET STICKY, SHINY AND REFLECTS HIGH GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD PREVENTING CLEAR SIGHT TO ROAD. *TR
THE CAR ACCELERATED QUICKLY ON ITS OWN, WITH ENGINE RACING, AND COULD NOT BE STOPPED EASILY, RESULTING IN A COLLISION WITH A TREE. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE ON IT'S OWN, WITH NO ONE PRESSING THE THROTTLE, UNTIL THE IGNITION WAS SWITCHED OFF. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY A LOOSE FLOOR MAT, THE FLOOR MAT WAS SECURED AND NOT ANYWHERE NEAR THE PEDAL. IN FEBRUARY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TOYOTA SAYING THAT THEY BELIEVE THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I CALLED TOYOTA TO TALK TO THE PERSON WHO SENT THAT LETTER AND REPEATED THE FACTS AS STATED ABOVE AND SHE TOLD ME THAT I "MAY BE MISTAKEN." THE FACT THAT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE AFTER THE CRASH IS IMPORTANT, SINCE SOME MAY THINK THAT I WAS PUSHING THE THROTTLE HERSELF. ONCE I GOT OUT OF THE CAR SHE OBVIOUSLY COULDN'T BE PUSHING THE PETAL HERSELF. THE ENGINE DIDN'T STOP RACING UNTIL I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. THEN, WHEN THE TOW TRUCK CAME, THE DRIVER RE-STARTED THE CAMRY TO POSITION IT FOR TOWING. WHEN HE DID, THE ENGINE RAN NORMALLY. WHEN A CAR TAKES OFF BY ITSELF, IT HAS A PROBLEM. THEREFORE THIS CAR, AND MAYBE ALL 2007 CAMRYS, MAYBE ALL TOYOTAS, HAVE A PROBLEM. HOWEVER WE DROVE THIS CAR FOR MONTHS AND MANY MILES WITHOUT A SYMPTOM; IT APPARENTLY TAKES SOME KIND OF PARTICULAR COMBINATION OF CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THE PROBLEM TO COME OUT. NO ONE WAS INJURED IN THIS INCIDENT, BUT THIS BEHAVIOR COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I BELIEVE TOYOTA SHOULD FIND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENED AND TRY TO FIX IT, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CONVINCE ME THAT I AM WRONG WHEN I TELL THEM WHAT HAPPENED. *TR UPDATED
PURCHASED 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WITH 17K MILES ON JULY 3RD, 2007. ON 12/28/2007 HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT 29K MILES DUE TO LACK OF TIRE TREAD. THE TIRES SHOULD LAST AT LEAST FOR 40-50K SINCE THAT IS THEIR TREAD WARRANTY. WHEN RESEARCHING TIRERACK.COM, THERE WERE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THESE TIRES, BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL400. (AT LEAST 90+ COMPLAINTS JUST ON THIS WEBSITE.) THE COST TO REPLACE WAS $433 VERSUS WHAT BRIDGESTONE/FIRESTONE WARRANTY QUOTE OF $469.*CN
WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING (I.E. AT TRAFFIC LIGHT, IN DRIVEWAY, ETC...), THE CABIN FILLS WITH THE EXHAUST ODOR. IT SEEMS AS IF THE EXHAUST FUMES FILL THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS UP. *TR

THE QUALITY OF LOW BEAM LIGHTS FOR NIGHT DRIVING IS INSUFFICIENT FOR DRIVING. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP IN BAYTOWN TX AND THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS OF CLEANING THE LENSES AND REPLACING THE BULBS HAS HAD NO EFFECT. HIGH BEAMS WORK FINE. MY FIRST COMPLAINT WAS IN 2008 AND EVERY TIME I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR MAINTENANCE, ETC. MAINTENANCE. I'M AFRAID FOR MY LIFE AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS INCONVENIENT TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS. FOR COURTESY SAKE MY SPOUSE REFUSES TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS ON THE NUMEROUS FARM MARKET ROADS WE DRIVE AT NIGHT BUT I AM IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHERE THE BLACK HORSE OR COW OR GOD FORBID A PERSON WILL EMERGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD SMELL EXHAUST SMOKE EMITTING INTO THE VEHICLE FROM THE VENTS; HE NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN HE HAD TURNED THE VEHICLE ON RECIRCULATE MODE. HE WOULD THEN SEE THAT THE RECIRCULATE MODE WAS OFF. HE NOTICED THE PROBLEM ON A DAILY BASIS. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALER TOLD HIM THAT THE HUMIDITY IN THE VEHICLE WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE PROBLEM. HE WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO REPAIR AS IT WAS NORMAL. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UP AN INCLINE AT A LOW SPEED OF 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE WAS NON- RESPONSIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 28900. UPDATED 3/17/10 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER A FULL STOP ON S STEEP INCLINE. WHEN SHE REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE, AND THE APPLY THE GAS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE ENGINE OFTEN HESITATES FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS. THIS OFTEN HAPPENS WHEN I AM RAPIDLY ACCELERATING TO ENTER A FREEWAYOR SIMPLY PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP LIGHT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS I NEED THE CAR TO ACCELERATE TO ENTER FAST MOVING TRAFFIC BUT I CANNOT COUNT ON THE ENGINE TO RAPIDLY SPEED UP. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS OF HESITATION, THE CAR THEN ACCELERATES TOO RAPIDLY. I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN EVERY EXCUSE IN THE WORLD AS TO WHY THE VEHICLE PERFORMS IN THIS MATTER FROM THE COMPUTER HAS TO "LEARN " YOUR DRIVING STYLE TO THAT IS HOW TOYOTA MADE THE VEHICLE. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND REBOOTED THE COMPUTER AND STILL THE PROBLEM. I ALSO HAD THE VVTI OIL LINE BREAK AND DUMP OIL AND HAD BEEN DRIVING LIKE THAT FOR OVER 100 MILES-I HAD REPLACED THE REGULAR OIL WITH SYNTHETIC OIL -TOYOTA REPLACED THE LINE AND USED THE EXACT SAME KIND OF PART THAT HAD FAILED WHEN I REQUESTED THEY REPLACE IT WITH THE UPGRADED PART I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY PART REPLACEMENT FOR THE FAILURE AND IF I WANTED THEM TO PUT THE OTHER PART ON THEY WOULD BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE OF THE NON SPECIFIED PART BEING PUT ON THE CAR, LETS HOPE IT DOES NOT FAIL AGAIN. NEAR DEATH INCIDENT BECAUSE MY 2007 4 CYL. CAMRY LE HESITATED WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AT AN INTERSECTION. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATION/TRANSMISSION. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED TO BE "BROKEN IN." *TR
I BOUGHT A TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID 2007 AT THE END OF OCT. 2006. I ALSO BOUGHT A PRE-PAID MAINTENANCE SERVICE. YESTERDAY, DEC. 6 2007, I TOOK MY CAMRY FOR THE 5TH REGULAR SERVICE FOR 25,000 MILES. I COMMUTE TO A DISTANT WORK, SO I PUT ON A LOT OF HIGHWAY MILES. THE SERVICE MANAGER FORM THE FOLSOM LAKE TOYOTA DEALER CALLED ME TO INFORM ME THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE ALL OF MY FOUR TIRES. HE SAID THAT THE TREAD WAS ALL WORN OUT. I WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED ABOUT THE EXCEPTIONALLY ACCELERATED WEAR OF BRIDGESTONE TIRES. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO TALK TO THE TIRE COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. THERE THEIR EXPLANATION WAS THAT BECAUSE OF TOYOTA'S SPECIFICATIONS, THEY PRODUCED TIRES THAT HAD SOFTER RUBBER FOR BETTER RIDERSHIP. IT MAKES THEM LAST MUCH LESS THAN THEIR STORE TIRES. BY THE WAY, THE TIRES, TURANZA EL400 IN THEIR STORE WILL LAST ABOUT 80,000MILES. THE SAME BRAND AND SAME MODEL TIRES WILL HAVE TWO DIFFERENT PERFORMANCE. I DID NOT PAY ANY CLOSER LOOK ON THE TIRES BECAUSE I ONLY PUT 25,000 MILES ON THEM. IT IS ALSO MOSTLY FROM HIGHWAY DRIVE. I SPOKE WITH TOYOTA CONSUMER REPRESENTATIVE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBLE AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT UP TO THE TIRE COMPANY. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO PROBLEMS BECAUSE NEVER EXPECTED OR SUSPECTED ANY BAD TIRES. I HAD MANY DIFFERENT CARS FROM DIFFERENT COMPANIES, BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT A BRAND NEW CAR TIRES LASTING ONLY 25,000 MILES. A SALES PERSON FROM THE BRIDGESTONE STORE IN CITRUS HEIGHT SAID THAT IT IS NOT NEW THAT HE SEES OFTEN BRAND NEW CAR TIRES LASTING ONLY ABOUT 15,000MILES OR EVEN LESS. *TR

THE DEFECTIVE STRUTS HAVE CAUSED THE TIRES TO WEAR FASTER THAN USUAL. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT 30,000 MILES. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STRUTS ARE LEAKING AND SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL HE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
WE BOUGHT 2007 CAMRY IN JULY OF 2007. MY WIFE DROVE IT TO WORK AND GOT AN ACCIDENT ON 12/5/07. WHEN SHE EXITED HIGHWAY, SHE USED GAS THEN USED BRAKE TO REDUCE THE SPEED. THE BRAKE DID NOT WORK. THE CAR SPED OUT OF CONTROL AND HIT THE SIDE OF HILL. THE CAR WAS ROLL OVER TO ONE SIDE AND TOTALED. MY WIFE WAS BADLY INJURED AND WAS SENT TO HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM. SHE GOT SOME CUTS IN HER HEAD BY THE BROKEN WINDOW AND SHE HAD TO STAY AT HOME FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS BEFORE GOING BACK TO WORK.WE BELIEVED SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BRAKE OR GAS PEDAL. AND WHEN THE CAR HIT THE SIDE OF HILL, NONE OF CAR SAFETY AIR BAGS CAME OUT. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND PAID BY OUR INSURANCE. BUT THIS ACCIDENT GAVE HER A LONG TIME FEAR AND BAD FEELING WHEN SHE PASSED THAT PLACE. WE HOPE WE CAN JOIN THE TOYOTA CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. PLEASE GIVE US SOME SUGGESTIONS. THANKS! *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE COMPUTER MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. AS OF FEBRUARY 1, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 13,000. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNAVAILABLE.

2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. S10 APPROPRIATE HANDLING- LETTER FROM REGARDING TOYOTA PROBLEMS*TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS PUSHED INTO A HIGHWAY GUARDRAIL BY ANOTHER MOTORIST WHO WAS RUSHING TO A LIGHT. DURING THE ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. WHEN THE CONSUMER ASKED THE LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE MANAGER WHY THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, HE SPECULATED THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING BELOW THE THRESHOLD LEVEL FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,579.
I BOUGHT A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY XLE 4CYLINDER IN AUGUST 2006 AND 4 TIMES IT HAS RAN OUT OF OIL. THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT KNOW WHY THIS IS HAPPENING AND HAS ME BRINGING IN MY CAR EVERY 500 MILES TO CHECK THE OIL LEVELS. *TR

WHILE PARKING, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT. I DID NOT INADVERTENTLY PRESS THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE ACCELERATOR WAS NOT ENTANGLED IN THE FLOOR MAT. THE VEHICLE RAPIDLY ACCELERATED OVER THE CURB, THROUGH AN ADJOINING GRASSY AREA, AND STOPPED AFTER HITTING A CEMENT WALL. LATER, THE CAR WAS INSPECTED BY THE TOYOTA DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INDICATED THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATOR OR OTHER EQUIPMENT THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *TR
MY SON WAS DRIVING MY 2006 TOYOTA CAMRY AND WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT END ACCIDENT THE CAR WAS A WRECK. THE AIR BAG NEVER DEPLOYED. LUCKY HE WAS WEARING HIS SEAT BELT. *TR
I AM REPORTING THE SAME STAGNATION ISSUE THAT MANY OTHERS REPORTED ON 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN MARCH 2006 AND STARTED NOTICING THIS ISSUE WITHIN A MONTH OF DRIVING. SO FAR I HAD AT LEAST 12 INSTANCES OF THIS. IT HAPPENS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE SUDDENLY TO A HIGHER SPEED. THE CAR STALLS FOR 20-40 SECONDS BEFORE IT SPEED UP. MANY TIME IT PULLED ME INTO RISK WHILE AT MERGING TO A MAIN ROAD TRAFFIC AND AT INTERSECTIONS DEALER HAS REPLACED A TRANSMISSION CONTROL COMPONENT BUT THIS IS STILL HAPPENING. THE EMAIL I GOT FROM TOYOTA FOR MY QUERY SAYS THAT "...THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL MONITORS THE EVERYDAY DRIVING HABITS OF THE OPERATOR AND THEN TAILORS ITSELF TO MAKE THE MOST EFFICIENT GEARSHIFTS. ON RARE OCCASIONS WHEN THE OPERATOR FULLY DEPRESSES THE PEDAL OR DEPRESSES THE PEDAL IN AN AGGRESSIVE MANNER, THE SYSTEM MAY EXPERIENCE A DELAY IN DETERMINING HOW TO MAKE THE OPTIMAL GEARSHIFT. AT THIS TIME TOYOTA HAS NO PLANS TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE SHIFT CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TRANSMISSION. TO MINIMIZE THIS CONDITION, WE RECOMMEND TRYING A FIRM YET GRADUAL APPLICATION OF THE ACCELERATOR..." MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY V6 IS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY, ALL SYMPTOMS INDICATE THAT THE OIL SKIMMER RING IS INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN IN TWO CYLINDERS. THE VEHICLE IS SMOKING ONES IN A WILE BUT A LOT. MOSTLY AFTER DRIVING LONGER DISTANCE ON FREEWAY OR IN THE MORNING AFTER STARTUP, SOMETIMES AFTER LEFT TURNS THE OIL CHOKES THE ENGINE AT SOME POINT, CAUSING IT TO STALL AND THROWS EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF SMOKE. I FOUND OTHER CONSUMERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEM IN CANADA WITH THE SAME MODEL AND SIMILAR AGE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLES HAVE LOW MILEAGE BETWEEN 8,000-3,0000 SUPPORTING THE POSSIBILITY THAT IT MAY BE MANUFACTURING DEFECT. TOYOTA REFUSED TO CURE THE PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE I DIDN'T KEEP MY RECEIPTS OF MY MAINTENANCE. I THINK A TRAINEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WRONG INSTALLATION OF THE PISTON RINGS AND MAY BE MORE OUT THERE. *TR
WE OWN A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE AND HONESTLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT, OUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN TERRIBLE. APPROXIMATELY NOVEMBER OF 07, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE CONEJO GRADE IN CAMARILLO, CALIFORNIA AND STARTED TO FEEL LIKE I WAS LOSING CONTROL OF THE CAR, I COULDN'T STEER IT AND HIT THE BRAKES REALLY HARD TO COME TO A STOP WITHOUT HITTING ANY OTHER VEHICLES. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO TOYOTA WHO EXPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE REASON WHY I COULDN'T STEER MY CAR WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH HOW THE TRANSMISSION ROTATES THE WHEELS AND ONE WHEEL WAS POINTED TOWARDS THE RIGHT AND ONE WAS WHERE IT SHOULD BE. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR HURT SOMEONE ELSE AND I WAS VERY UPSET ESPECIALLY AFTER HEARING THAT I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. AT THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THAT MY BRAKES WERE WARPED AND I HAD TO PAY $180.00 TO FIX THEM, APPARENTLY WHEN I HIT MY BREAKS REAL HARD TO TRY AND STOP THE CAR WITHOUT CRASHING I WARPED THE BREAKS. THIS WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY. I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK APPROXIMATELY A WEEK LATER AND WAS TOLD THEY PUT IN A NEW TRANSMISSION. WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP THE ENGINE STILL DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT IT WAS LUNGING. SO I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK AND THEY DID A TEST DRIVE WITH ME IN THE CAR AND OF COURSE IT DIDN'T DO IT. I HAVE HAD OFF AND ON ISSUES AND NOW MY MAINTENANCE LIGHT IS ON, AFTER BEING AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE LAST 10 DAYS WITH OTHER ISSUES. I HAVE NO TRUST OR FAITH AT THIS POINT WITH THEM. MOST OF ALL, THE CAR DOING IT'S OWN DRIVING WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THE FAILING OF MINE COULD HAVE KILLED ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS NEED TO BE MADE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. ROTTEN EGG ODOR IN THE CABIN. WHEN THE CAR IS ACCELERATED, A VERY STRONG ODOR INVADES THE CABIN OF THE CAR. WE HAVE TO LOWER THE WINDOWS TO VENT OUT THE ODOR. TOYOTA CLAIMS THAT THIS TYPE OF ODOR AT THE EXHAUST IS CAUSED BY TOO MUCH SULFUR CONTENT IN THE GASOLINE, BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE ODOR IS GETTING IN THE CABIN. I'M WRITING TO DETAIL MY ISSUES WITH MY 07 TOYOTA CAMRY V6. I HAVE HAD IT ONE YEAR AND THE HESITATION UPON ACCELERATING IS STILL THERE EVEN AFTER A SUPPOSED 'FIX' BY MY SELLING DEALER. THE TRANNY SOMETIMES HESITATES AS MUCH AS 2-3 SECONDS B4 ACTUALLY MOVING FORWARD AS INTENDED. I ALSO HAVE EXTREME FRUSTRATION WITH THE INTERIOR PLASTICS. THE DASH RATTLES MORE THAN MY OLD 97 PONTIAC. THE OTHER MAJOR ISSUE IS THE SOFTNESS OF THE DRIVER SEAT FOAM. I AM DUE IN 2 DAYS FOR A RE-FOAMING OF THE SEAT. HOPEFULLY THAT WILL FIRM IT UP A BIT. ONE LAST POINT IS THE TIRES WORE OUT BY 13K ON THEM MAKING ME SPEND OVER $300.00 FOR NEW RUBBER. NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A $25,000 CAR. *TR

THE NEW 2007 CAMRY HAS ALWAYS HAD AN UNEVEN ACCELERATION AND SLOWING. IT IS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS ALWAYS "SEARCHING" FOR THE CORRECT GEAR. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE IS ALWAYS CHANGING SPEEDS. DURING THE INITIAL REPAIR, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THEY HAVE "A LOT" OF THESE TYPES OF COMPLAINTS AND SAID THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED. ON SUBSEQUENT REPAIRS I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING AND THAT TOYOTA COULD NOT REPAIR THE PROBLEM THAT THE 2007 CAMRYS HAD. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION OR ACCIDENTS I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE A WARRANTY. I E-MAILED TOYOTA BUT DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AND AM UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE CONTACT FEELS THAT IF THE TRUNK IS LOCKED WITH A KEY, IT SHOULD ONLY BE ABLE TO OPEN WITH A KEY AND NOT THE KEY PAD. THE DEALER OFFERED TO UNHOOK THE KEY PAD FEATURE, HOWEVER, NO REPAIR WAS MADE. IN SEPTEMBER 2006 I TRADED A PERFECTLY PERFORMING 4 CYL 2006 CAMRY FOR A 2007 4 CYL CAMRY BECAUSE I LIKED THE NEW DESIGN. I STILL LIKE THE NEW DESIGN BUT HAVE BEEN QUITE ANNOYED AND CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAR'S FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WHEN NEEDED. FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR NEAR STOP WHEN A QUICK TAKE-OFF IS NEEDED THE INITIAL RESPONSE IS AT TIMES ZILCH/ZERO/0. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHO HAD THE COMPUTER RECALIBRATED. THIS LASTED FOR A WHILE, BUT IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT GONE BACK BECAUSE I BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS GREATER THAN "RECALIBRATING". ON OCT 13,2007 MY 4YR OLD DAUGHTER AND I WERE INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT LESS THAN 10M/H AND ALL THREE AIRBAGS IN MY 2007 RED CAMRY SC DEPLOYED AND THE KNEE AIRBAG GAVE MY RIGHT LOWER LEG A BAD BLOOD CLOT WHERE I HAD TO MISS WORK FROM OVER A MONTH.
