Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WITH SUNROOF, SUNSHADE AND WINDOWS AND DOORS CLOSED, THE SUN ROOF AND SUNSHADE WAS RIPPED OUT OF THE CAR. THE PIECES WENT FLYING INTO THE ROAD AND SIDE OF THE ROAD BEHIND ME. THANKFULLY NOT HITTING OTHER CARS. WE HAD NO NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL, OR PROBLEM WITH SUNROOF UNIT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BUMPER OF HER VEHICLE WAS NOT STURDY. SHE WAS INVOLVED IN TWO COLLISIONS WHERE THE BUMPER DID NOT PROTECT AGAINST ANY DAMAGE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO PURCHASE A SAFEGUARD. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. UPDATED 05/05/11*LJ UPDATED 05/13/11
DRIVER'S SUNVISOR CONSTANTLY FALLS WAY FROM GLASS AND POINTS ALMOST STRAIGHT DOWN, BLOCKING MOST VISION OF THE ROAD. HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES SINCE NEW (12/2006) UNDER WARRANTY, AND NOW THE 4TH VISOR IS FAILING. THEY ONLY SEEM TO LAST ABOUT 3-9 MONTHS BEFORE ROD SLEEVE TENSION BUSHING WEARS OUT. I DO NOT HANG OR CLIP ANYTHING TO THE VISOR. "DATE OF INCIDENT" IS NOT MEANINGFUL; BLOCKED VISION HAPPENS EVERY DAY UNTIL I GET A NEW SUNVISOR. THIS IS ON A LIGHTED VISOR; IT IS NOT THE VISOR WITH THE TOYOTA HOMELINK FEATURE. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
