TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINE WAS REPLACED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO SUBURBAN BUICK GMC OF FERNDALE (21800 WOODWARD AVE, FERNDALE, MI 48220, (248) 547-6100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LINE HAD BEEN REPLACED AND TIED TO THE SWAY BAR. THE BRAKE LINE WAS NOT COMPLETELY INSTALLED FROM THE ENGINE TO THE BRAKES, WHICH COULD CAUSE BRAKE FLUID TO LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,620.
I WAS TOLD MY GARAGE KEPT BUICK LUCERN WITH 18,000 MILES NEEDS GAS LINE AND BRAKE LINING REPLACEMENT BECAUSE OF RUST.
THE BRAKES WHEN APPLYING COMING DOWN HILLS MAKE THE FRONT END SHIMMY AND SHAKE AND IT DOES NOT WANT TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN ACCORDING TO THE BRAKE PRESSURE BEING APPLIED. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM AND I CALLED THE DEALER HERE IN BUTTE, MT AND THEY SAID SHE THINKS THIS IS THE WAY IT IS. THE PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN SOMEWHAT WORSE AS TIME AND USE OF THE BRAKES INCREASE AND IT IS BECOMING AS MAJOR ISSUE FOR US. WE LOVE THE CAR BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. RECENTLY NOTICED WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THAT THE PEDAL WILL SLOWLY SINK TO THE FLOOR CAUSING MY FOOT TO BE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. AT A STOP LIGHT IT CAUSES THE ANTI BRAKES TO COME ON AND TO PROCEED THROUGH THE STOP LIGHT. *TR

WHENEVER HE IS DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKES VIBRATE AND SHIMMY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOSES CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT VEERS ACROSS THE ROAD. THE DEALER HAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
DURING BRAKING ON ANY STEEP DECLINE, THE BRAKES SHUDDER( VIBRATE) TO THE POINT THAT THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO HANDLE. THE VEHICLE FEELS THAT CONTROL COULD BE LOST ABOVE SPEEDS OF 40 MPH
2006 BUICK LUCERNE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SAFETY PROBLEM. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE WAS TRYING TO PARK WHEN THE ABS ENGAGED. HE STATED HE PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND THE ABS CONTINUED TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE WAS GREATLY EXTENDED. *KB THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND SUBSEQUENTLY HE CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WAS MINIMAL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ABS SHOULD HAVE NEVER KICKED IN ON A DRY, ASPHALT SURFACE. *JB
WHEN BRAKING DOWN HILL THE ROTORS WARP MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP IN AN EMERGENCY. DEALERSHIP PAID FOR THE SECOND REPAIR, CAR WAS ABOUT A YEAR OLD, SAYING IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE DESIGN, LIGHTWEIGHT ROTORS, CALIPERS AND BRAKE PADS. LUCKILY I LIVE IN AN AREA THAT IS FLAT. EVERY TIME I GO OUT OF TOWN I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS FEAR AND A REPAIR JOB. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SAID I NEEDED TO UPGRADE TO HEAVY DUTY ROTORS AND CALIPERS. SAID THIS TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEM IN A CADILLAC WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. IT'S A 2K FIX BUT DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN AM HEAVY ON THE BRAKES DOWNHILL AND THAT HIS WIFE CAN'T DRIVE EITHER. ALSO SAID THEY WON'T FIX THE DEFECT DUE TO ME TAKING THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. I HAD TO AS THEY KEPT TURNING THE ROTORS EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN ONLY BE TURNED 2 X. THIS DEFECT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BUT UNTIL THEN I JUST HOPE FOR THE BEST.
EXPERIENCED FRONT END VIBRATION ON DELIVERY. DEALER DID A WHEEL ALIGNMENT BUT A SLIGHT VIBRATION CONTINUED. EVENTUALLY IT INCREASED AND I TOOK IT TO A INDEPENDENT FOR BALANCING AND ROTATION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE DEALER ANALYZED IT AS "DEFECTIVE" TIRES ON THE FRONT AND REPLACED THEM. AS I DROVE HOME THE CAR PULLED TO THE RIGHT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SWITCHED THE LEFT FRONT TO THE RIGHT AND THE RIGHT FRONT TO THE LEFT AND CLAIMED THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR BEGAN TO SHIMMY AND VIBRATE BADLY. RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY FOUND MY RIGHT FRONT BRAKE DEFECTIVE. AS I LEFT THE DEALER I NOTICED THAT THERE STILL IS A VIBRATION. TRIED FOR 10 DAYS TO HAVE GM TALK WITH THE DEALER BUT THEY CONTINUALLY TOLD ME THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH THEM. BECAUSE THIS CAR HAD THE DEFECTIVE INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT NO ONE CAN SEE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, FRONT END AND BRAKE PROBLEMS I DEEMED THIS BUICK LUCERNE UNSAFE AND HAVE SOLD IT TO A DEALER. *JB

TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE 2006 BUICK LUCERNE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD AFTER THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT WAITED APPROXIMATELY 25 SECONDS BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO PROCEED. HE HAD TO PUSH THE ACCELERATOR A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. ALSO, THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE BY ITSELF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS NO PARTICULAR TIME OF THE DAY, AND THE ROAD CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN CLEAR DURING EVERY OCCURRENCE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH DEALERSHIP, AND THEY INSTALLED A DATA PROCESSOR, THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO PUSH DATA PROCESSOR BUTTON WHEN PROBLEMS OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOW STARTED TO GIVE FALSE WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE TRACTION CONTROL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING. ALSO, RECEIVED A SERVICE BRAKE ASSISTANCE WARNING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAD 12000 MILES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7500.*AK

THE CONSUMER STATED TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS BUT TO NO AVAIL, THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER WAS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT HIM BUT THE CONSUMER HAS NOT HEARD FROM THE DEALER IN THE AS OF YET.
