MY TIRES KEEP LEAKING AIR. I WAS INFORMED IT WAS MY RIMS ARE FLAKING CAUSING RAZOR CUTS IN MY TIRES. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE STARTED LEAKING, THEN A WEEK AGO THE LEFT ONE STARTED LEAKING AND A DAY OR TWO AFTER THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE IS NOW LEAKING ALSO.
2006 BUICK LUCERNE CHROME WHEELS FAILURE. I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE FLAT TIRES CONSTANTLY. TOOK THE CAR IN TO A TIRE SHOP, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CHROME WHEELS ARE CORRODED TO THE POINT THAT THEY WILL NOT SEAL PROBABLY. I INFORMED GM ABOUT THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND GM WOULD NOT REPLACE THE WHEELS. THE LAST TIME I DROVE THE CAR THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE DEFLATED CAUSING ME TO LOOSE CONTROL WHICH RESULTED WITH ME GOING IN THE MEDIUM. THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE. THE MILEAGE IS 80,000. THERE NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL DONE ON THE CHROME RIMS. GM KNOWS THAT THIS A PROBLEM AND WILL NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE.
VEHICLE HAS NUMEROUS ISSUES OVER THE YEARS. 80K MILES CURRENTLY, TIRES LEAK AIR BECAUSE OF CORROSION ON THE RIMS, THIS IS MY 2ND SET OF TIRES NOT COUNTING THE SET THE VEHICLE CAME WITH, BREAKS HAVE BEEN DONE TWICE, ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BOTH FRONT DOOR HANDLES HAVE COME OFF, PROBLEMS WITH THE LEVELER, NOW DOOR LOCKS LOCK/UNLOCK WHILE DRIVING BUT NOT JUST ONCE (MIGHT HAPPEN 6-8 TIMES). LOCAL DEALER & SERVICE STATION HAVE PERFORMED REPAIRS/REPLACEMENTS. ALREADY BEEN UNDER 2 RECALLS.
I OWN A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. I TOOK ON 6-11-16 TO DEALER HAD MY TIRES REPLACED. EVER SINCE, ALL FOUR NEW TIRES ARE LOSING AIR. TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON ALL THE TIME. THE CHROME PLATING IS FLAKING OFF THE RIMS, LOSING THE SEAL. DEALER HAS RE-SEALED THE FOUR TWICE SINCE 6-11-16 ONLY 51,000 MILES ON THIS CAR. 2016 IS THE FIRST THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS EVER COME ON. CORROSION IS A PROBLEM. MANUFACTURE'S SUPPLIED CHROME WHEELS HAVE DEFECTIVE CHROME PLATING ALLOWING THE CHROME TO FLAKE OFF BREAKING THE SEAL WITH THE TIRE RESULTING IN THE TIRE LOSING AIR PRESSURE AND SUBSEQUENT DRIVE-ABILITY PROBLEM. *TR

THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON EIGHT DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR A DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BEADS ON THE RIMS WERE DETERIORATING. THE CONTACT THEN MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PASSENGER FRONT TIRE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION. VIBRATION PROBLEMS SINCE 10/24/06. FEBRUARY 22, 2008, TECH REPLACED LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR WHEEL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. MAY 7, 2008, TECH REPLACED RIGHT FRONT WHEEL FROM PEELING CHROME. EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS NOW. VIBRATION IN CAR AT 50 MPH. TIRES DO NOT STAY BALANCED DUE TO FLAKING OFF CHROME. TECHNICIAN WILL NOT ROTATE TIRES DUE TO SAFETY ISSUE. HAVE DOCUMENTATION, PICTURES AND STATEMENTS FROM TECHNICIAN AND GARAGE ATTENDANTS. BUICK COMPANY WILL DO NOTHING FOR US BECAUSE OUR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. RIMS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. *TR
AFTER MY 2006 BUICK LUCERNE CXS SITS FOR AWHILE, 10-12 HOURS, I GET A REALLY BAD VIBRATION OUT OF THE CAR. IT SHAKES THE ENTIRE CAR AS IF IT IS GOING TO FALL APART. AFTER 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING IT SMOOTHES OUT A BIT BUT DOESN'T COMPLETELY GO AWAY. MOSTLY NOTICEABLE WHEN ITS COLD OUT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRES WITH THE SAME BRAND AND MODEL, BUT THE VERY NEXT DAY, I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NEW TIRES. I HAVE TALKED TO THE 2 DEALERS, BUICK CUSTOMER SUPPORT, BRIDGESTONE CONSUMER LINE, A FIRESTONE CORP. CENTER, AND BUICK AGAIN, ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THE TIRES WERE MADE THAT WAY AND THERE IS NO DEFECT. NO ONE WANTS TO STAND UP AND TAKE BLAME. NOW I OWN A NEW $42,000 VEHICLE THAT THEY SAY IS NORMAL TO HAVE THIS VIBRATION WITHIN THE FIRST 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING, AND NEVER COMPLETELY GOES AWAY. I ALSO NOTICE IT WHEN DRIVING ON CURVED ROADS AT HIGHER SPEEDS, FROM TIME TO TIME THE CAR FLOATS OR SUDDENLY TURNS SLIGHTLY ON ITS OWN WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS 50-60 MPH. VERY UNHAPPY, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE ANYWHERE.*JB
VEHICLE HAD A SEVERE VIBRATION PROBLEM WHEN DELIVERED IN APRIL. A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED AT 125 MILES. NOW, AT 3750 MILES THE PROBLEM RETURNED BUT MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED. AT 45 MPH IT FELT LIKE A FLAT TIRE OR A WHEEL WAS LOOSE. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON MY WAY HOME I EXPERIENCED A SLIGHT VIBRATION AND NOTICED THE CAR PULLING TO THE RIGHT. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY SWAPPED TIRES FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. HOW WILL THIS IMPACT MY VEHICLE WHEN I NEXT ROTATE MY TIRES? THE VIBRATION PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I AM FEARFUL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND, ONCE AGAIN, WILL RETURN TO MY DEALER FOR A SOLUTION. TIRES ARE CONTINENTAL P235-55R17 WHICH THE NHTSA SITE DOES NOT HAVE AS AN OPTION WHEN FILLING OUT THE "COMPONENT" SECTION OF THIS REPORT. *NM
THE LEFT-FRONT CHROME PLATED WHEEL ON MY 2006 BUICK LUCERNE HAD A STRESS CRACK DEVELOP OVER TIME. AT SOME POINT IN THE PAST THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME IMPACT BECAUSE THERE WAS A SLIGHT FLATTENING OF THE RIM, BUT THE DAY THE RIM FAILED I HAD NO IMPACT WITH ANY ROAD HAZARD WHATSOEVER; THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR CAME ON AND I WAS LOSING AIR FAST. ONCE I COULD GET IN TO HAVE THE WHEEL CHECKED THE HAIRLINE CRACK, INSIDE THE RIM, WAS DISCOVERED. I PURCHASED A NEW WHEEL THROUGH MY BUICK DEALER, AND FILED A CLAIM WITH BUICK FOR SOME AMOUNT OF COMPENSATION. IN MY OPINION A WHEEL OF THIS EXPENSE SHOULD NOT FAIL IN THIS MANNER. MY PREVIOUS VEHICLE, ANOTHER BUICK, WAS DRIVEN FOR 14 YEARS AND 427,000 MILES, AND I NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A WHEEL. THE WHEELS ON MY LUCERNE WERE PRODUCED IN CHINA ("CHINA" IS STAMPED INSIDE THE RIM) AND ARE OF OBVIOUS POOR MATERIAL AND QUALITY - ARE THEY TESTED TO MEET D.O.T. STANDARDS? BUICK HAS DENIED MY CLAIM, BASED ON THE "AGE" OF THE WHEEL. I AM NOT JUST CONCERNED WITH THE COST OF THE WHEEL, BUT ALSO WITH THE SAFETY OF THESE WHEELS. I DRIVE 400-500 MILES A WEEK FOR WORK MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY; I AM CONCERNED OF LOSING A WHEEL AT 65-70 M.P.H. HAVE THERE BEEN ANY OTHER PROBLEMS REPORTED LIKE THIS? I STRONGLY FEEL THIS NEED TO BE CHECKED INTO, ESPECIALLY NOW, WITH TAXPAYER-BASED LOAN MONEY HAVING GONE TO GM AND WITH MORE ON THE WAY, GM NEEDS TO MAKE SURE THEY WILL STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. *TR
WHILE ENTERING A CURVE ON THE EAST -WEST CONNECTOR IN FRANKFORT, KY, MY WIFE LOST CONTROL OF OUR 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 45 AND SHE WAS GOING NO MORE THAN 35-40. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE CAR AND BRING IT UNDER CONTROL. THE RIGHT FRONT PART OF OUR CAR HIT A GUARDRAIL, SHE THOUGHT THAT SHE WAS ABLE TO BRING IT UNDER CONTROL MOMENTARILY, THEN LOST CONTROL AGAIN. THE CAR SPUN AROUND AND HIT THE CEMENT BARRIER, WHERE THE CAR STOPPED. DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE RIGHT REAR AND THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY SEVERED FROM THE VEHICLE. WE HAD NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR BEFORE, ALTHOUGH SEVERAL DAYS EARLIER, WHEN I DROVE THE CAR, I NOTICED SEVERAL TIMES THAT THE CAR DID NOT SEEM TO RESPOND IMMEDIATELY TO MY CONTROLS. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 18,000 MILES. FORTUNATELY, MY WIFE WAS NOT INJURED AND NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY $10,000 IN DAMAGES TO THE CAR. OUR PRIMARY CONCERN IS THAT THE WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY SEVERED FROM THE CAR. THE TIRE IS NOT FLAT, BUT THE WHEEL SEPARATED AT THE HUB (I THINK THAT IS THE CORRECT TERM). SINCE THIS IS A NEW CAR (2006 WAS THE FIRST MODEL), WE WONDER WHETHER THERE MAY BE SOME TYPE OF DEFECT? WE CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THE WHEEL WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE (INTACT) WHEN SHE WAS NEVER GOING MORE THAN 35-40 AND, MOST LIKELY, SLOWER THAN THAT WHEN SHE HIT THE CEMENT BARRIER. IF NECESSARY, WE CAN PROVIDE A COPY OF THE ACCIDENT REPORT, A LIST OF REPAIRS TO BE MADE ON THE VEHICLE, AND PICTURES THAT WE TOOK OF THE VEHICLE.
