Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger vehicles, and 2009-2011 Dodge Dakota vehicles sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands or "Zone A." Additionally, Chrysler is recalling certain 2009-2010 RAM 4500 Cab Chassis, RAM 5500 Cab Chassis, RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler 300, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger vehicles ever registered in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia or "Zone B." Chrysler is also recalling certain 2009 RAM 3500, RAM 2500, RAM 4500 Cab Chassis, RAM 5500 Cab Chassis, Dodge Durango, Chrysler Aspen, RAM 3500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler 300, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Challenger, and Dodge Charger vehicles ever registered in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these passenger air bag inflator may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began February 28, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U03.
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 175 MY 2009 DODGE CHARGER, CHALLENGER, AND CHRYSLER 300 VEHICLES. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR (TPM) SENSORS MAY NOT TRANSMIT THE ACTUAL TIRE PRESSURE. THIS COULD RESULT IN THE DRIVER NOT BEING AWARE OF LOW TIRE PRESSURE.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TPM SENSORS. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 9, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Dodge Ram 2500, 2004-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and Durango, 2006-2009 Dodge Ram 3500, 2008-2010 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500, 2007-2008 Chrysler Aspen, 2005-2010 Chrysler 300, 300C, 300S, and SRT8, 2006-2010 Dodge Charger, 2005-2008 Magnum, 2005-2011 Dodge Dakota, and 2006-2009 Mitsubishi Raider vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.
Remedy Status
Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify the affected Chrysler and Dodge owners and Mitsubishi will notify the affected Raider owners. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began for Chrylser on June 8, 2015. The recall for Mitsubishi started on June 24, 2015. Chrysler and Dodge owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Mitsubishi owners may call 1-888-648-7820. Chrysler's number for this recall is R25. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V817 in its entirety. Vehicles that have had their driver side frontal air bag replaced previously need to have their air bag replaced under this recall as well.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 THROUGH 2010 PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH REAR WHEEL DRIVE. THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITHOUT A FRONT WHEEL SPINDLE NUT.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND IF FOUND WITHOUT A SPINDLE NUT IT WILL BE REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 2, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-835-1403.
The blinkers ...window wipers ...brights. horn.. battery draining. Horn. Staling. Someone said it's the TIPM.WHICH WAS RECALLED yeARS BACK. I JUST GOT THIS CAR NOT EVEN 2 YEARS AGO.and it's unsafe . I can't see and scared the airbags are gonna diploy
The OEM starter ignited a fire under the front end of my vehicle. Upon noticed, I immediately grabbed a fire extinguisher, and I put the fire out. I had my two young boys in the car at the time when it happened and I urged them to get out of the car immediately my young son has a fear from now on on getting in vehicles. There wasn’t any issuing warning lights that prompted any awareness. Initially started the car to run and get the juices flowing - seeing The car was parked. There wasn’t any movement to Initiate spark.
Fuel vapors are strong when I get gas, car is now leaking gas when it’s over half a tank
I HAVE A 2009 CHRYSLER 300 THAT INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS ITSELF OFF WHILE DRIVING. WHEN IT DOES THIS, IT LOSES AL POWER. LIGHTS, FLASHERS, DASH LIGHTS ALL TURN OFF. I LOSE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND HAVE TO MANUALLY STEER IT AND BRAKE IT TO GET IT OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ONCE IT IS OUT OF TRAFFIC I PUT IT IN PARK, TURN OFF THE KEY AND THEN, AND ONLY THEN, I CAN RESTART IT. WHEN ALL OF THIS HAPPENS, THERE IS NO CODES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY SAID THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE BECAUSE THERE ISN'T ANY CODES. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FILED A CASE. #78850950. THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE ANY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF THIS HAPPENING ON ANY OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCT. THE LAST TIME THE CAR SHUTDOWN I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AND IT SHUT ITSELF DOWN AS I WAS GOING ACROSS A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY AND IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS CARS SWERVED OUT OF THE WAY SO NOT TO HIT ME BROADSIDE. NEITHER CHRYSLER OR IT'S DEALERSHIP WILL HELP ME GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED STATING THAT THEY HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THAT THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO AND THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINES SAYS THERE ISN'T A PROBLEM. I SUGGESTED THAT THEY TAKE THE CAR AND DRIVE IT AROUND BECAUSE IT WILL INDEED REPEAT IN A COUPLE OF DAYS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT SINCE IT'S A 2009 THAT I WOULD BE BETTER OFF GETTING A NEW CAR.I TOLD THEM THAT I WANT THIS ONE FIXED. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD COST ME THOUSANDS FOR THEM TO HOOK UP TEST EQUIPMENT AND DRIVE IT AROUND. CAR HAD 98,474 MILES ON ODOMETER. ENGINE IS MERCEDES DESIGN AND GUARANTEED FOR 100,000. ENGINE BLEW WITH NO WARNING SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OR ANY KIND OF ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING 73 MPH ON I-10 WHEN I HEARD A LOW "KA-THUNK", ELECTRIC AND OIL LIGHTS LIT ON DASH, AND CAR BEGAN DECELERATING. AT TIME, I WAS BEING TAILGATED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE . I HIT EMERGENCY LIGHTS, DRIVER BEHIND ME APPARENTLY GOT THE MESSAGE TO DRIVE AROUND MY VEHICLE ALTHOUGH HE/SHE HAD PLENTY OF TIME PRIOR TO INCIDENT TO DO THIS. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF SAFELY TO SIDE OF I-10 HIGHWAY AND PARK VEHICLE WITH EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. AFTER RAISING THE HOOD AND CHECKING THE FLUIDS, THERE WAS PLENTY OF OIL AND ALL OTHER FLUIDS WERE PROPER AMOUNTS. THERE HAS BEEN NO LEAKAGE OF ANY KIND OF FLUIDS PRIOR TO OR AFTER INCIDENT. I SPOKE WITH A DEALER SATURDAY AT FORD PEACH MOTORS IN BREWTON, AL ABOUT THE SITUATION. SHE SHARED WITH ME THAT SHE HAD HAD A CHRYSLER 300 WHICH DID THE EXACT SAME THING WHEN IT GOT TO BE AROUND 98,000. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THE 2006 CHRYSLER 300C HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM IN WHICH THE MOTOR GETS AROUND 98,000 MILES AND THE MOTOR/ENGINE BLOWS WITH NO APPARENT WARNING JUST AS MINE DID. ALSO, UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, MOPAR HAS 3 RECALLS ON 2009 300C. IT STATES THAT ALL 3 ON MY VIN# WERE REPAIRED. ACCORDING TO NHTSA WEBSITE, THERE ARE 5 RECALLS FOR EXACT SAME VIN# AND NO REPAIRS. I SPOKE WITH BOBBY SPAINHOWARD, A MECHANIC, AT FORD PEACH. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM WAS THE PIN IN THE CAMSHAFT BROKE IN HALF FOR NO REASON, CAUSING TIMING ASYNCHRONIZATION. THIS LED TO THE RODS BENDING AND STRONG POSSIBILITY OF VALVE AND PISTON DAMAGE. HE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED A BRAND NEW MOTOR DUE TO THE DAMAGE.
DRIVERS SIDE SEAT WARMER BURNED A HOLE THROUGH THE SEAT COVER AND BURNED A HOLE THROUGH THE COAT I WAS WEARING. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I FELT 'PINCHING' ON MY LOWER BACK AND SMELLED A BURNING ODOR. I TURNED OFF THE SEAT WARMER AND DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. I WAS INSTRUCTED BY BY MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER TO CALL CHRYSLER DIRECTLY AND GET CASE NUMBER. DID SO.. CASE NUMBER 75085832. NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK AFTER 4 FOLLOW UP CALLS. DEALER WILL NOT FIX UNTIL CHRYSLER LOOKS AT IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WAS CALLED TO THE RESIDENCE TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIMING BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT NIGHT, OUR 09' CHRYSLER 300 COMPLETELY SHUTOFF UNEXPECTEDLY. ENGINE SHUTOFF, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES...AND WORST OF ALL, ALL LIGHTS SHUTOFF! I DRIFT OFF INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE (LUCKILY MINIMAL TRAFFIC) AND STOP. PUT IN IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE...NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO ISSUES, AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. CONTINUE ON WITH LIFE... NOW A WHILE LATER, I'M DRIVING AROUND A TIGHT ROUNDABOUT AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN! LOSS OF POWER STEERING IN A TURN AT LOW SPEED, AND THE WHEEL GETS RIPPED OUT OF MY HAND AS THE CAR DRIVES UP OVER THE CURBS BEFORE I CAN STOP WITH THE NOW NON-POWERED BRAKES ON THE CAR. MINIMAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE BUT ENOUGH TO PISS ME OFF TO KNOW THAT THIS CAN LITERALLY HAPPEN AT ANY TIME... CHANGING BETWEEN HAVING POWER STEERING TO INSTANTLY NONE IS A MAJOR HAZARD IN A TURN. I CAN DEAL WITH AN ENGINE TURNOFF, BUT THIS IS A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN, AS IF THE CAR WAS SHUTOFF NOT RECOGNIZING A THE KEY IS THERE. LIGHTS, RADIO, DASHBOARD, ETC....ALL TURN OFF (I'M GUESSING AIRBAGS TOO?) I HAVE NOW RESEARCHED THIS AND I AM FAR FROM THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. IT IS PRETTY MUCH NARROWED DOWN TO A DISCONNECT BETWEEN THE WIRELESS IGNITION NODE AND THE KEY FOB, AND THE MODULE THINKING THE FOB HAS BEEN TURNED OFF WHEN IT FACT IT HASN'T. CHRYSLER HAS RECALLED THIS PART FOR MODEL YEARS PRIOR, AND AFTER 09', BUT HAVE SEEMED TO SKIP THE 300C FOR 2009. WELL GUESS WHAT, 2009 300C WIN MODULE'S ARE FAULTY ALSO... AND JUST AS DANGEROUS AN ISSUE AS ANY OTHER VEHICLE THAT COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN RANDOMLY. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR 2009 CHRYSLER 300'S FOR THE WIN MODULE AND THE KEY FOBS! REGARDS
TAKATA ARE ALL COMPLAINT OF MINE IS THAT IT HAS PLACED ME A UNSAFE DRIVING STATE FOR 3 YEARS WITHOUT THE ABILITY OF A CAR REPLACEMENT UNTIL THIS PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. OTHER DEALERSHIPS THAT HAD AN AIRBAG PROBLEM DID PRESUMING THAT THEY REALLY CARED. FOR A LONG TIME, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING SCARED. DOING MY BEST TO GET TO A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP NOW.. IF I COULD HAVE TRADED IT I WOULD HAVE.
AFTER RECEIVING SEVERAL POST CARDS TO GET THE AIRBAG RECALL, I BROUGHT THE CAR TO DADELAND CHRYSLER/JEEP ON MARCH 12, 2019. AFTER KEEPING THE CAR THE WHOLE DAY I WAS TOLD MY CAR DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL, THE SERVICE MGR AND I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO REFUSE TO APPROVE THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT, AND THE DEALER DID NOT DO THE WORK BECAUSE IT WAS NOT GOING TO BE REIMBURSED. SINCE THEN I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL CALLS FROM CHRYSLER AND EACH TIME I HAVE EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED, THEN I AM TOLD THEY WILL CHECK AND GET BACK TO ME AND I NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. BOTTOM LINE, CHRYSLER CORP REFUSES TO DO THE AIRBAG RECALL AND I NEED YOUR AGENCY TO GET INVOLVED IN THIS MATTER. I HAVE ALSO FILE A COMPLAIN WITH THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLE BUT I DOUBT THEY WILL TAKE ACTION ON THE MATTER. WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. THE ENGINE, INTERIOR LIGHTS, EXTERIOR LIGHTS, POWER STEERING, AND POWER BRAKES ALL SHUT DOWN. THE CAR EFFECTIVELY WAS MOVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH NO POWER. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE ROAD SIDE THRU TRAFFIC AND THE CAR HAD TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS STARTED TO HAPPEN FREQUENTLY. I NOTICED THAT THERE WERE RECALLS ON YEARS PRIOR TO AND AFTER THIS YEAR FOR IGNITION KEY ISSUES. I ONLY USE THE KEY WHILE DRIVING WITH NO KEY RING ATTACHED. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS THIS HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. IN THE YEAR THAT I HAVE OWNED IT, THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LOWER SPEEDS BUT LESS FREQUENTLY. I AM NOW WORKING EVENING HOURS AND THE LIGHTS SHUTTING DOWN HAS BECOME A BIGGER ISSUE.
DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON BUSY HI-WAY AND THE CAR STOPPED FOR NO REASON. NO POWER UNABLE TO GET ABOVE 5 MILES PER HOUR.
THIS CAR HAS A PLASTIC KEY FOB USED AS THE KEY. SOMETIMES I TURN THE KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY REPEATEDLY IN THE FOB ITSELF. I WISH IT HAD A METAL KEY SO I COULD FIGURE OUT IF IT IS SOMETHING IN THE IGNITION OR IN THE FOB ITSELF. I'M AFRAID I AM GOING TO LOSE POWER WHEN DRIVING AND CRASH. THE DEALER SAID A NEW IGNITION IS OVER $1000 BUT I AM NOT CONVINCED THIS WILL SOLVE MY ISSUE. I AM ALSO AFRAID AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM COULD MAKE MY AIRBAGS NOT WORK OR A FIRE INSIDE. I KNOW CHRYSLER HAS RECALLED 2 MILLION CARS FOR IGNITION ISSUES BUT MINE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED THUS FAR AND I'M NOT SURE WHY. I DO NOT THINK THE PROBLEM WILL MAGICALLY CORRECT ITSELF, BUT IT IS INTERMITTENT WITH NO RHYME OR REASON JUST DEPENDS
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND PARKED. I UNLOCKED CAR DOOR WITH FOB AND PULLED THE EXTERIOR DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE AND A PLASTIC PIECE UNDER CHROME HANDLE ON THE LEFT FELL TO THE GROUND AND THAT SIDE OF THE DOOR HANDLE IS NOW BROKEN. I HAVE TO HAVE THE ENTIRE DOOR HANDLE REPLACED.
ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL INCLUDING LIGHTS SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. WILL RESTART AFTER SLOWING DOWN & SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL. HAVE ALMOST BEEN RUN OVER SEVERAL TIMES! THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES.
HORN KEEP ON SOUNDING ...CAR SHAKE WHEN DRIVEN TO STOP.HORN DOESNT WORK WHEN APPLIED SOUND RATHER IN ANOTHER TIME ON ITS OWN.THERE IS A SOUND KEEP ON COMING WHEN AC IS APPLIED ETC....
I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL DEALER, I REQUESTED A RENTAL CAR SO I COULD GET AROUND AND GET TO WORK WHILE THE REPAIRS ARE BEING MADE. I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANYWHERE. I REQUESTED THE RENTAL AT NO CHARGE SINCE THIS ISN'T MY DOING, ITS NO FAULT OF MY OWN AND NOW I HAVE TO TAKE TIME TIME OUT OF MY BUSY DAY TO BRING IT THE CAR TO GET FIXED. ITS A REAL HASSLE. THEY CAN SIMPLY PROVIDE ME A VEHICLE TO USE WHILE THE REPAIRS ARE GOING ON. I WILL NOT SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT UNTIL I RECEIVE A VOUCHER OR COMPENSATION FOR A RENTAL. MOPAR HAS GOT NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED HERE EITHER.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ENGINE AND LIGHTS AND ALL POWER EQUIP SHUTS DOWN LIKE TURNING OFF THE IGNITION. LIGHTS ALSO SHUT OFF! USUALLY CAN SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND RESTART ENGINE. SOMETIMES IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES BEFORE IT KEEPS RUNNING. DEALER CANNOT FIND PROBLEM. NO ERROR CODES STORED. AFRAID I WILL BE RUN OVER ON FREEWAY!HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AT ANYTIME. NEED HELP!
