THE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND THERE'S NOTHING GOING ON WITH MY CAR IGNITION MESSED UP MY ALTERNATOR BATTERY AND STARTER. THERE'S A FAILURE IN IGNITION THAT IS MESSING UP A LOT OF THINGS IN THE CAR. THE IGNITION HAD ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SUCH AS SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN I USE MY FOUR-WHEEL-DRIVE A LOT OF COMPLICATIONS STARTED HAPPENING WITH MY LYCIAN ALTERNATOR STARTER AND BATTERY
WHILE DRIVING SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 0 MILES WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE IT WAS READING REVERSE. PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE IT WAS READING DRIVE. LIGHTS FLICKERING WERE THE MILEAGE WAS READING THEN FINALLY LIGHT COMPLETELY OUT FOR THE MILAGE
WHEN THE ALTERNATOR STARTED TO FAIL THE DRIVER'S DASHBOARD SUCH AS THE SPEEDOMETER AND ANY OTHER INSTRUMENTS MALFUNCTIONS. WHILE DRIVING THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD REED 0 MILES PER HOURS EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I HAVE RECORDED THE ISSUE IN A VIDEO FORMAT.
ON MAY 1ST 2017 I WAS ON THE MARKET FOR A DEPENDABLE VEHICLE FOR MY CHILDREN AND I. MY BOYFRIEND SUGGESTED AUTO DEALS LLC. ON 12838 SAN PEDRO IN SAN ANTONIO, WHERE HIS COUSIN RICHARD MCKINNEY IS A SALESMAN. MY BOYFRIEND AND I ARRIVED AT 1:30 PM AND STAYED TILL 6PM THAT SAME DAY FILLING OUT PAPERWORK AND LOOKING AT VEHICLES. RICHARD'S COWORKER DOUG ASSISTED US ON THIS FIRST DAY. WE DECIDED TO GO HOME AND SLEEP ON IT AND SEE THE NEW SHIPMENT THE NEXT DAY AS I WAS UNSATISFIED WITH THE CURRENT OPTIONS. AS WE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE SUPERVISOR ALEX SINNO SAID "COME BACK TOMORROW AND I WILL GIVE YOU A YEAR WARRANTY". WHEN WE RETURNED THE NEXT MORNING WITH THE $700 WE WERE TOLD WE NEEDED TO DRIVE OFF THE LOT, WE WERE THEN TOLD THAT THE BOSS WAS ASKING FOR $1000 DOWN PLUS INSURANCE THAT THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IN HOUSE ON AN IOU THAT WE WERE TO PAYBACK THAT FRIDAY. FEELING UNEASY BUT STILL DESPERATE WE SCRAPED TOGETHER THE EXTRA $300 PLUS INDEBTED OURSELVES FOR THE IN HOUSE INSURANCE. SHORTLY AFTER WE DROVE OFF THE LOT ON THE WAY HOME ON MAY 2ND 2017 THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND I NOTICE THAT IT IS OUT OF GAS AS WELL. AFTER FUELING UP, I DRIVE OVER TO OUR FAMILY MECHANIC. HE INFORMS ME OF A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES INCLUDING THE RADIATOR BEING BONE DRY, AND GASKETS NEEDING REPLACEMENTS. I ALSO NOTICE I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS AND SEE THAT THERE ARE OVER 20 FUSES MISSING. WE MANAGE TO MAKE IT HOME BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP IS CLOSED AT THIS POINT SO WE CALL IN THE MORNING. FOR A WHOLE WEEK WE CALL REPEATEDLY DAILY BUT NEVER MAKE IT PAST THE RECEPTIONIST AND NEVER RECEIVE A CALL BACK. DURING THE WEEK I TAKE IT TO A NEARBY ADVANCE AUTO AND AUTO ZONE, WHERE THE VEHICLE IS PUT ON THE COMPUTER. I ENDED UP BUYING COOLANT AND AN IGNITION COIL, AS WELL AS RECEIVED COPIES OF RECEIPTS AND DIAGNOSTICS ON THEIR MACHINES.ON MAY 5TH WE ALSO PAYED BACK THE I.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER, I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING I ROLLED THE WINDOWS DOWN TO CHECK IF IT WAS MY TRUCK, SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE BACK SEAT. I PULLED OVER AND OPENED THE BACK DOOR AND SAW MY BACK SEAT BURNING. HAD TO PUT WATER AND LEAVE THE WINDOWS DOWN FOR A COUPLE DAYS, IT'S SO HORRIBLE TO THINK THAT MY SON USUALLY SITS THERE AND COULD OF GOTTEN BURNED. I GOT THIS TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND I DRIVE TO THEIR ACTIVITIES EVERY DAY. *TR
WE BOUGHT THE CHRYSLER ASPEN WITH THE HEMI ENGINE NEW IN 2007. THE FOLLOWING YEAR THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO REAR ITS UGLY HEAD. CONSTANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DUE TO WATER INTRUSION FROM THE SUN ROOF DUE TO POOR DRAINAGE. TRUCK WAS SERVICED NUMEROUS TIMES BY CHRYSLER WITH NO POSITIVE RESULTS. TRUCK IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE ALL DASH BOARD LIGHTS WILL GO ON WHEN IT'S RAINING OR AFTER ITS RAINED WHICH CAUSES A DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH, CITY STREETS AND ALSO WHILE THE TRUCK IS STATIONARY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES AND CHRYSLER HAS MADE NO EFFECTIVE ENGINEERING REMEDY. THEY EVEN BLAME THE ENVIRONMENT I.E.TREES FOR CAUSING THE PROBLEM AS REFUSAL TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY AND THE TRUCK WAS SERVICED IN AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE SYSTEMIC PROBLEM. IT IS CHRYSLER'S POSITION THAT THE ENVIRONMENT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM NOT THE ENGINEERING OF THE TRUCK. THEIR ARE MILLIONS OF CARS AND TRUCKS WITH SUNROOFS THAT ARE LEFT OUTSIDE THAT DON;T HAVE LEAKS OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS BECAUSE OF POOR DRAINAGE. WE HAVE 32 PAGES OF INVOICES FROM THE CHRYSLER SERVICE DEPT, THE VAST MAJORITY ARE ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS. WHEN WE CALLED CHRYSLER CORP. AND FINALLY SPOKE TO SOMEONE TODAY 6/24/16, WE WERE TOLD ITS THE ENVIRONMENT WE CAN'T SPEAK TO ANYONE HIGHER THEN HER, CASE CLOSED, LIFE TIME WARRANTY VOIDED FOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES.
WHEN USING THE LEFT BLINKER THE RIGHT BLINKER WILL INTERMITTENTLY START BLINKING. I AM CONCERNED THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES WHEN STOPPED.
EXHIBITING TYPICAL PROBLEMS RELATED TO TIPM FAILURE. HAS NEVER STALLED ON ME WHILE IN MOTION, BUT WILL DISPLAY "NO BUS" & GAGE NEEDLES SHOOT UP & DOWN. CAR WON'T START.
TWO WEEKS AGO, WE HAD THE AIR BAG REPAIRED AT THE DEALER DUE TO A RECALL. TODAY, I TRIED TO TURN ON MY CAR, IT WOULD NOT TURN ON AND ALL INSIDE LIGHTS ARE FLASHING. I TOWED IT TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ELECTRIC MODULES COULD BE THE PROBLEM, THEY SUGGESTED TO CHANGE THE FRONT CONTROL PANEL AND CHARGE ME $1,600. IF PROBLEM PERSIST, THEY MIGHT NEED TO CHECK OTHER MODULES, I.E. $4,000-6,000 CHARGE. BEFORE CHANGING THE AIR BAG RECALL, I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. CAN YOU HELP PLEASE.
TURN SIGNAL STOPS AND EVEN BLINKS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
THE CAR WAS IDLING WHILE WAITING TO FOLLOW ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CAR WAS THEN PUT INTO DRIVE, AT WHICH POINT ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION CEASED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE RADIO, WHICH WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THE ENGINE ALSO STOPPED RUNNING. FORTUNATELY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO THE RECALL ACTION INITIATED FOR DEFECTIVE IGNITION SWITCH. IN SEPTEMBER, I HAD STOPPED FOR GAS AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR TO START IT, THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULD NOT MOVE, AS THOUGH I HAD AN INCORRECT KEY. AGAIN, SOMEHOW ABOUT 15 MINUTES LATER THE KEY TURNED. THERE IS A DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION OCCURRING IN THIS VEHICLE. *TR
MY WIPERS COMES ON EVERY TIME I START MY TRUCK. ON 8/3/14 IT WAS RAINING AND I HAD THE WIPERS ON HIGH CAUSE OF HEAVY RAIN AND THEY STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD RUN SLOW. THE WIPERS WOULD INTERMITTENTLY MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE THE WIPERS TO BECOME INOPERABLE OR IT WOULD OPERATE ABNORMALLY. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY THE TURN SIGNALS, THE SIGNAL SELECTED WAS OPPOSITE OF THE SIGNAL ACTIVATED. WHEN ACTIVATING THE LEFT TURN SIGNAL THE RIGHT WOULD ACTIVATE. THE SAME HAPPENS WHEN THE RIGHT SIGNAL IS ACTIVATED THE LEFT ACTIVATES ERRONEOUSLY. *TR
TURN SIGNALS FUNCTION INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ACTIVATED. RIGHT SIGNAL SEEMS TO WORK OKAY WHEN ACTIVATED BUT RIGHT SIGNAL LIGHT ALSO COMES ON WHEN STALK IS PUSHED DOWN TO INDICATE A LEFT TURN. TRYING TO INDICATE A LEFT TURN CAN ALSO RESULT IN NO SIGNAL LIGHT AT ALL. THIS CAN CONFUSE OTHER DRIVERS AND HAS RESULTED IN SEVERAL NEAR MISSES ON LANE CHANGES AND AT INTERSECTIONS WHEN TURNING LEFT. SEEMS TO BE AFFECTED BY COLD TEMPERATURES AND AT THE PRESENT TIME GOES AWAY AFTER CAR IS WARMED FOR 15-20 MINUTES. CHRYSLER FORUMS HAVE INDICATED THIS TO BE A PROBLEM ON ASPENS. NO RECALLS ISSUED YET. *TR
MY TURN SIGNALS ARE MALFUNCTIONING IN MY 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN .WHEN I HIT IT TO LEFT, MANY TIMES IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY START BLINKING RIGHT. MANY TIMES WHEN IT IS BLINKING LEFT, IT WILL CHANGE AND JUST START BLINKING RIGHT WITH NO TOUCHING ANYTHING. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP SITTING AT DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAYS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND MANUFACTURER SAYS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. WE PURCHASED A 2007 CHRYSLER ASPEN DEC 23, 2006. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED WHILE I WAS BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT MY INLAWS' HOME. IT WAS SHOCKING & MY FAMILY WAS SHOUTING OUT FOR ME TO STOP THE CAR. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL IT & KEEP FROM HITTING OTHER VEHICLES BUT IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT. THE NEXT WEEK I WENT TO EXIT THE PARKING LOT OF OUR SAFEWAY STORE TO GO ON TO THE MAIN STREET. I WAS STOPPED TO TURN RIGHT WHEN THE CAR LURCHED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. HORNS BLARED & CARS SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS JUST WAITING TO BE HIT! I TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER W/466 MILES ON IT. THEY SAID THEY "COULD NOT VERIFY CONCERN; OPERATING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME." IN FEB WHILE I WAS BACKING OUT OF OUR GARAGE THE CAR LURCHED VIOLENTLY WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE & JUMPED ABOUT 3 FEET. MY WIFE WAS STANDING IN THE DOORWAY & BEGAN SCREAMING. SHE CALLED THE SERVICE REP CRYING BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED I WOULD BE KILLED IF I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. I TOOK IT TO DEALER. THEY KEPT IT, & WERE "UNABLE TO VERIFY CONCERN; VEHICLE IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AT THIS TIME; MILES OUT 1040." MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS LIFE THREATENING DEFECT. ALSO WHEN YOU INSERT KEY IN THE IGNITION IT STARTS @ 1300 RPM'S. THE DEALER SAYS WE SHOULD LET CAR SETTLE DOWN TO ABOUT 600 RPM'S WHICH REQUIRES A FULL MINUTE OF WAITING IN THE CAR BEFORE YOU CAN START TO MOVE. THEY THINK THIS MIGHT BE PART OF THE PROBLEM BUT TELL US THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT. SO WE HAVE A CAR THAT MUST SIT BEFORE YOU CAN USE IT; YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT EVER VALET IT FOR FEAR THE ATTENDANT MIGHT BE INVOLVED IN A LURCHING INCIDENT. ON JUNE 4, 2007 SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME 3 OTHER ASPENS ARE REPORTING THIS PROBLEM. WE ARE SETTING UP A MTG W/GM TO ARRANGE TO TURN IN THIS CAR. MY WIFE HAS SET UP A FILE ON THE CAR & ADVISED FAMILY MEMBERS WHERE IT IS IN THE EVENT WE ARE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE IF THE LURCHING/BUCKING ACTION OF THE CAR CAUSED THE ACCIDENT.
